Last July we were unexpectedly thrust into the search for a new home after losing our home to a fire. It didn’t take us long to decide that a modular was the best fit for our family given the steep rise in building supplies in the midst of the pandemic. Kristin at Coastline Homes of Oxford was amazing from day one. She helped us get quotes for our insurance company and when we were ready to look she welcomed us like no other dealer had done! She was warm, kind and incredibly responsive! She answered all of my questions, and trust me I had many! Stacy walked us through the final stages of getting our home set and the finish work complete. She was equally amazing to work with! She was onsite for the setting of the home and was happy to answer any questions we had through the finish work process. We expected there would be a few things that needed fixing once the house was on the foundation. You have to anticipate there will be things that need adjusting when a house travels roughly 1/4 of the way across the country. Anytime we made a Stacy aware of something she responded immediately and had her crew address our concerns right away.Everyone at Coastline was as dedicated to getting us into our new home as we were. We could not have chosen a better company to help us through this journey!
Ww had an amazing experience with Coastline Homes. We had been to many other dealers but Coastline stood out. Kristen was so great with helping us choose every detail for our forever home. The home we wanted was new to the show area so wasn’t ready for viewing yet. But as we were on our way back to Florida, they got the guys to set up steps so we could view it. That was it - we bought it then and there. And the service after the home was setup was fantastic. Stacy is right there getting the service calls set up immediately. Can’t say enough good stuff about Brian and Wayne. Do their job professionally and so helpful with everything you ask. Was nervous about service after the purchase. But no reason to be with Coastline Homes, they are right there when you need them. They have made moving into our forever home so easy. Thank you!!!!
Frank and I were very pleased with the service that we received from Coastline Homes of Oxford. Kristen was so helpful with helping us pick out everything for the inside finishes. Stacy was also right there when we needed her on the site for any issues. The site crew was also very professional when they were there and listened to all our questions and answered our questions. We would highly recommend Coastline Homes of Oxford to anyone who I’d looking for a new home
We had a great experience with Coastline! Kristin was wonderful to work with, and incredibly organized. It was quick and we are very happy. Building any new home can be stressful, but Kristin was there for us every step of the way!
I needed to give a huge thank you to the entire team at Coastline homes. We love our new home and cannot wait to makes so many memories here. It was so fun to watch our home being put together ( a bit nerve racking too). Thank you for suggesting the Hickory cabinets, everyone that has visited LOVES them as much as we do.
Kristin has been a rock throughout my experience with Coastline Homes. She has answered all of my questions and gone above and beyond to get me into the home of my dreams. Kristin walked me through everything and took the time to go over every little detail with me. She is very knowledgeable and gets you answers as soon as possible. I am so glad to have had her support during this process.
We had a great experience with Coastline. Even after our home was set they were prompt to return to fix a few minor adjustments that were needed. Thank you to everyone at Coastline for such a great experience. Please feel free to use me as a referral for any future customers.
Worked with Kristin on picking out our first home! Extremely knowledgeable and quick responses. Truly a pleasure to work with her. We are grateful for coastline homes!!
I went through all the home builders in Oxford and talked with the salespeople. I will not be going through Coastline. Their homes were very low quality, and the salesperson tried to put lipstick on a pig. Oh, and this business is owned by the same guy as Schiavi Custom Builders. If you have to create another business right down the road just to cover up your terrible reputation, you should reevaluate how you treat customers. Not just create another company and hope nobody finds out!!
Worked with Kristin this last week! She was very helpful in the process. Highly recommend coastline homes over any others around!
We went to every modular dealer in Oxford last year during the Open House event and found exactly what we were looking for at Coastline. We have recently ordered our beautiful home and throughout this entire process, Kristin and the entire Coastline team have been second to none! They have taken care every aspect of this daunting process with nothing but efficiency and professionalism. My wife and I would recommend them to absolutely anyone looking to purchase a new home!
I also STRONGLY RECOMMEND people AVOID doing business with these CROOKS!! They lie and make promises they will not keep and then KEEP your deposit after they told you they would refund it!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!
The team at Coastline Homes is great. They were so patient with me when I was pushing to get things done, and when I was about to give up on my dreams they kept encouraging me to keep the faith and not to give up on what I want and now Kristen and the team is making my dream come true. Thank you All!!!
Super helpful all around. I would for sure recommend Coastline Homes
Horrible place to deal with. It would take me too long to explain! Just warningPeople. Noit trustworthy!
Great place to buy your new home. Honest folks and Kristin is the best. So helpful in every aspect of your home buying experience.
I would agree with some of the other reviews. If I was to post a detailed review, it would take PAGES. We were sold hook, line and sinker by Kristin Jones who is abundantly friendly up front - but, rude and unprofessional when you question the finished product and the lack of quality provided. Once the contract was signed, the lack of communication began. The turnover at Coastline/Schiavi should have been a red flag in itself. We attempted to address our concerns with them directly, but it was a new site manager, new project manager so frequently no one ever had an answer. Multiple site visits were made (which meant time away from work for us) and no solution was found. Many decisions were made that impacted our end product without a conversation with us. We eventually asked the state to come in and do a full inspection because we were (and still are) continuously having trouble with excavation, craftsmanship of our home and various components that do not work. We learned from the state that no complaint is made public if Coastline dba Schiavi (or any modular builder) takes care of the problem in the allowed time. In our case, the 45 days allowed by the state (once they issued their letter indicating the found issues) came and went and we still were just discussing a potential solution. Coastline blamed Apex, Apex blamed Coastline - we didnt care who was at fault, we just wanted the home we paid for. The complaint is now public and Coastline/Schiavi was fined a whopping $100 - no wonder they didnt care about the 45 days! I would be happy to share our entire story with anyone considering giving money to these folks. Do your homework, visit completed homes off the lot - not the references they provide as Im sure they have a handful of happy customers. As we began sharing our story, we discovered MANY others who had equivalent experiences/trouble with Coastline / Schiavi. Please pay attention to finish work (the craftsmanship just isnt there), get other opinions on your excavation (our elevation changes were SUBSTANTIAL), make sure the concrete company is using new forms (we did end up with a discount for this, but a discount doesnt change what we have forever), honestly the list goes on and on - most importantly: GET EVERY SINGLE DETAIL, EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE IN WRITING. We had requested to speak directly with the President of Schiavi in hopes that we could share our experience with him - if nothing else - in hopes that it would help prevent this from happening to others (if he wasnt aware). He had no interest in meeting with us was the response we got. Truly unfortunate! We spent over a quarter of a million dollars on our forever home - we deserved, at the very least, a phone call. We are devastated that we chose Coastline/Schiavi to build our forever home. We built on family land that we will never sell and are stuck with a sub-par finished product. Please reach out to me if you have questions - [email protected]. I am sure that Coastline/Schiavi will have a well-crafted response to this review, but I encourage you to do a LOT of homework. All companies have some negative reviews - but, I urge you to pay attention to the consistency in these.
Had a great experience with Kristin she help us in any way she could to make our 15 year dream come true not to say we did not have a few hiccup on the way but she help steer us down the right path to make this dream come true.I myself being in construction for many years and work in the modular home industry ask a lot of question and she answer them an assisted us with anything we needed could not ask for a more professional attitude from everyone at coastline
Visited here to get some prices for modular homes. Customer service woman was very helpful. Beautiful homes.
I had a fantastic experience through coastline homes of oxford. My husband and I went everywhere in NH, and all of the places in Oxford until we stopped in here and met the sales manager Kristin. She was the first person we met out of everywhere to make me feel like they really wanted to help us and take us seriously. We kept in touch through email almost daily, she was very quick to respond and take care of all my wants and needs. She really went above and beyond. My husband and I took our young kids during one of the planning meetings, they are very active and usually a stressful thing to do, but kristin made us feel right at home and it ended up being a positive experience. Although in the end we didnt end up going through the sale, because of issues 100% on our part, when I told her we had to back out she completely understood, and didnt give me a hard time at all, even after all the work she put into planning my dream home for us. We even get a refund back. :) I couldnt have been more grateful to have stopped in here on our journey to building a modular home. If I had to do it all over again I wish I would have just started here, I promise you wont regret walking in the door of this place. Absolutly fantastic.
I have to say that anyone dealing with this business should do their homework first!! I have supporting documentation to any of my claims in this review. Our story started late last fall while shopping for a new custom home. We met with Kristin at Coastline who was sweet as pie to us while at the same time down talking all the other modular home dealers in the area. We decided we wanted to proceed with designing our Apex home and paid a $2500 deposit that we were told and have in writing that it was refundable. We went through the plan design process and then at the last minute before ordering the home Kristin sprung on us that they require a 50% down payment and the other 50% is due the day before the house is set on the foundation. First, it is illegal in the State of ME to require more than a third down without disclosing that fact to the consumer. And second, who in their right mind would pay 100% for an unfinished house. Kristen told us that it is standard practice to collect 100% up front and all other dealers follow this same business model which is an outright lie! We have since found several other dealers that do not follow this business model. Several discussions later Coastline backed off of the payment schedule but then sent us a Non-Negotiable and I repeat Non-Negotiable unfair and unrealistic contract to sign. One of the items on the contract stated that they would try not to crack our foundation but would not be responsible if they did. Are you kidding me!! We decided that Coastline Homes of Oxford was not for us and informed Kristin of our decision. We asked for a partial return of our Refundable deposit, understanding plans were drawn and the line item for them was $1500. Well it turns out that they will not give us back any of our refundable deposit. There are deceptive business practices all through the experience with Kristin at Coastline. We have since found out that Coastline Homes of Oxford is a DBA company of Schiavi Homes, LLC. With a little more research, we learned that Schiavi Homes, LLC had their Better Business Bureau rating revoked by the BBB for failure to address customer complaints. Unfortunately, our story does not end here. We found another modular home dealer and approached him about getting us the same home we had designed. As far as we are concerned, we now own the plans to our home as they were paid for with our Refundable deposit that was never returned. Our new dealer was also an authorized Apex builder was allowed by Apex to order the home. Kristin from Coastline Homes of Oxford found out that Apex was moving forward with our home through another dealer and did everything she could to block the sale, well it turned out that Apex did remove our order from their books. This was an extremely childish act on behalf of Coastline Homes of Oxford. Like I said, BUYER BEWARE, this business is clouded with lies and deceit. As a rebuttal to Coastlines response I will offer up more information. The deposit contract states it is a refundable deposit less any expenses such as plans, contractor consultations(site visits), plot plans, and septic designs. Coastline did in fact generate building plans and the line item was $1500. Contractor consultations are meetings with your subcontractors on site which Coastline did not have any. Coastline did not generate a plot plan or have a septic design done. I did all that work. You are misrepresenting your payment terms, you required 50% down payment without informing me that Maine Statutes cap it at 1/3 I had to find that information myself. Why would anyone look past a BBB accreditation revocation. Your company should have just followed their rules in the first place. And as a matter of fact, the order with Apex through another builder had gone as far as Apex providing stamped drawings and a production date as well as an estimated delivery date. The only reason the Order was pulled was because Coastline threatened to no longer conduct business with Apex. Lies! Lies! Lies! and smooth talking will not change the situation YOU Created
A delightful cozy development of homes in a country setting.
Great customer service! Genuinely nice people to work with!
