Excellent store! There arent many places you can show up with an entire deck list, and physically build it in 15 minutes; awesome in-store stock. Definitely recommend!!

Quite honestly classiest store in town. Im friends with a lot of the various owners and I will say that Shortstops is absolutely my go to place. Clean, friendly, well lit, and honestly just a good group of guys who own it. I know that when Im working with Justin and Travis they are going to treat me fair and I appreciate the stuff they do for the games and the community.

This is my go to card shop and it’s amazing! I’ve gotten great pulls from all the Pokémon I’ve bought! To the People that say they’re packs are resealed, they ARE NOT! I’ve bought many from them and even pulled a full art trainer skyla from one! Customer service is amazing and the store is clean!

Didnt have much for hockey cards but the staff was super friendly and helpful and I got super good pulls from the box they did sell me. Not to mention they have super good prices!

Incredible selection of in stock magic boosters and special products. If youre looking for a great selection of magic or Pokemon this is the place in the area to go. The store was very well lit and seemed very clean.For what its worth, all of the tennis balls on the chair feet were matching, at least thats what i was told. I didnt feel like checking the brands myself.

Extremely honest gentlemen work here. I didnt get a chance to catch their names but Im blown away by the staffs experience and knowledge. They took the time to thoroughly explain the process of card deck value. No pressure here just straight forward shopping, wide variety of card games or even single cards. I never played magic the gathering but want to start, so i decided to stop in for a few minutes and watch a game being played, some fat guy named justin told me i must purchase something or leave, so i left never to come back

Im from San Diego visiting the area for work, I didnt plan on stopping at the shop due to my last experience in the shop 9 months ago, but I happened to driving by so I gave it another chance. They should remove the sports cards from advertisements since they have a very limited range of cards, as it turns out its just not bad timing. I still look at the place and its very well organized and looks like a great place for gamers, but not a sports card shop by any means. Customer service was a little cold feeling to me. But since Im not their target customer base I feel he didnt wait to waste time on me even though I was the only person in the shop at the time. Recommend call and ask specifically whats available if you are going to visit for sports cards.

This is the best game store Ive ever been to, hands down. The owners, Travis and Justin, are some of the friendliest guys. They knew my name after my second time there, are already friendly and willing to chat, and provide amazing customer service.If you need any kind of card game supplies, from Pokemon, magic, or sports, this is the place to go!

Great place to play magic the gathering. Plenty of players and a nice super clean store make it an enjoyable experience. Only reason its not 5 stars is the price of the singles. By far the most expensive place in town to buy your cards. Although they will most likely have what you need.

This is not a card store, this is a gaming store,, The one case of each normal sports card is not priced, when you inquire about an item they look it up via eBay and see what others are selling for, and then try to get more than that price... priced out a couple of cards, watched him look them up on ebay and then ask 1.5 times for the same cards, i dont like that practice at all imagine going to a car lot and them looking up prices online and then marking it up from there in front of you... bad practices will not return, went down the street 2 miles or so and a great sports card store, helpful and stocked

Met with the two owners, they seemed very knowledgeable and above board. They did not try to steal my memorabilia, they offered me a price that would be fair if I were desperate. In other words they need to make money off of something as well. So I opted not to sell at this time but they left the door open for the future. Nice young men I will do business with them again

Im not from the area, just visiting in on this shop. Very well organized, clean and looks great for the gamers out there. As far as a sport card shop I feel its limited on selection. Could be the time frame I was there, I would recommend calling to get a feel for whats on hand before going there. Didnt get a good deal on the cards I did purchased, they looked them up on line and got the high end price on everything. Id didnt have time to work on the price and felt it wouldnt have mattered if I did. It is a very nice shop for the gamers.

This place is like Cheers but with cards. The owners and players will become your friends. Its such a good community. Veteran Magic players will always provide a fun challenge and will do everything they can to help a newbie thrive. I recommend participating in a draft night if you never have played Magic. Its affordable, its a level playing field since everyone gets fresh new cards, and even if you dont know how to play, youll learn through the night. Awesome shop!

Love playing here. The shop is always clean and well stocked. Everybody is super cool and welcoming to new and returning players. Travis and Justin are awesome and always make sure events go off without a hitch.

These guys are wonderful to their patrons. I showed up to play a Wednesday night and the store had bought one of their patrons a birthday cake they gave out to everyone. Little actions like that build a community. Patron these guys if you are a gamer in the area. Or baseball card guy(can’t speak much on that side of things)

Great Magic selection and facilitation of competition, ownership provides events to grow and compete. Sports selection may be a bit dwarfed by nearby Wonder Water, but owners are still quite knowledgeable on the selection and many singles as well. However, this shop is by far and away the best Magic/gaming shop in the TB area. My interactions with ownership and staff, most notably Brandon, have helped turn me into a MTG enthusiast. Great shop all-around.

Went out of my way for sports cards that werent even there. Pretty misleading name if you arent going to have the actual item.

Went in there for the first time in 6 years since the new owners took over and even though I miss the old staff I have to say the new staff is very warm and welcoming and theyve kept the original welcoming vibe that the old owner had the remodeling they did looks amazing and overall I was impressed to welcomed back to the store after being gone for so long even though I didnt know anybody they helped me replace ruined cards I had and brought me up to date on the current magic the gathering formats and ultimately went above and beyond to take care of myself and other customers I definitely look forward to coming back and spending lots of time there making new friends keep up the amazing work!!!

I used to say that the only person you can trust in this world is yourself, then I found this place. I thought it was awesome when Nat opened the Peach Pit as a night club and called it Peach Pit After Dark, Then I walked into this place. Staff is knowledgeable and are no nonsense.

Great LGS. Multiple weekly events for Magic and Pokemon. Tons of gaming products and a large supply of sports cards and memorabilia. The owners are really nice and helpful and maintain a clean family friendly environment rather than the dungeon some LGS’s have become.

This shop is amazing. Their Magic the Gathering collection of singles is fantastic spanning nearly every set. As as a commander player I am yet to ask for a card they didnt have. Beyond their collection Travis and Justin are two of the friendliest and best shop owners I have come across in my entire MTG career. All of their events are welcoming and fun. In addition to the great product and staff my favorite part of this LGS is the fantastic community that plays there. I have met so many great people playing in their events and casually on their edh nights. I cant reccomend coming into check out Shortstops enough!

I have no idea how to even begin describing this store. They offer one of the greatest environments for players of any age. They support the growth of every customer whether theyre casual and new or their aspiring competitive players. I owe both Justin and Travis immensely for helping me find a place to play where I can feel welcomed by friends.Not only do they offer one of the most competitive and solid store to play card games like Magic: the Gathering or even the occasional Yu-gi-oh and Pokemon matches. But theyve introduced me into an almost fanatic obsession with sports and sports cards. Their collection of singles and boxes for sports cards is staggering. Not to mention their ability to handle dozens of customers of every type at breakneck speeds.I cant recommend this place enough. Everyone and anyone should give this place their business. I challenge people to find any owners kinder and cooler than Justin and Travis.

The first time I went to Shortstops was September 2012. It was my first day playing Magic the Gathering ever and I went for a midnight pre-release event. I had no idea what I was doing or who most of the people there were but I felt welcomed. I then started going on a regular basis and I truly learned what its like to be part of a community. They are an outstanding local business and one that I will always recommend. They are and have always been my favorite Local Game Store, and I frequent a few these days. Travis and Justin are always helpful and do what they can to make sure everyone is happy in a situation. Seriously, they are a great source for your Sports cards, Magic cards, Pokemon cards, even Dragon Ball Super cards and accesories! The best thing about them though, is the years that Ive been going on and off theyve continually grown and maintained what they have. Which, the past few years is impressive.Tl; DrI love these guys and theyre good guys. 10/10 will shop again (soon even)

Called Justin, asked him what cards he would be interested in buying. I told him the years of cards I had. He continued with for me to be for sure why dont you be bring them in. And I did like he idea me to do so. So I did. When I walked though the door. Kinda confused because, wouldnt know were to go. I proceeded towards the back. Iooking for the guy by the name of Justin in assume so. Was then aprcohed by a man. I asked looking for Justin, I talked on the phone with him. He didnt say anything walked passed me and then said These your cards? He completely ignored gretting me, what so every. Just continued to start looking thought my cards. Witch really bothered me because I work in customer service and I know to always greet my guess. He then stated yeah none of these cards are going to be in the year range, Im interested in. That would be instead in 50s-60s I said okay, any where else you think could be insted in late 70s? He answered that. By the time he finished, I had my belongeds and started heading towards the door. I was done with whatever he calls that. The thing that bothered me the most was he wasted my time and gas. And no one likes doing that. Was about 40mins around trip. I just dont understand why he couldnt tell me the years he was interested in over the phone. So yeah thanks for the waste of time dont advise to give a vist. Go another 5 mins south on 19 to the other sports shop. They took good care of me. :)
