Admittedly the wrong vibe for us older folks in the afternoon, but the morning pool area was quieter and easier to swim. Loved the mix of salt water in the pool — so soft.Room is a mix: Every snack you could want but no price list or room for your own stuff in the mini fridge. The mirror is so far away I had to put eyeliner on in the car. No room service although we stayed 3 nights. We asked for fresh towels the last day and they dropped them off while we were out but didn’t pick up the pile of dirty ones on the floor. Our room was surprisingly quiet, and the bed was great. Cool room decor.
Cool room!! There best are the patio facing the pool room. Younger crowd, popular location for an older hotel location. ITS WELL KEPT, CLEAN ROOM ( definitely a +) lol call it ACE + lol_* Worst experience: was a security guard who was bugging for me walking my dog late and or being to loud in the room idk ( wasnt loud) I think, didnt even have tv or music on so...* BEST experience: THERE RESTAURANT I
The main problem I have with this place is that you think it will actually be a 4 star hotel, but then it is kind of falling apart... however, the staff is so very nice (really make a difference), the spa is fantastic, and the drinks and food are on par with resort quality. Unfortunately the rooms and the furnishings for everything (especially the pool area) are very outdated and over used, giving the pool area a dystopian and depressing vibe and the rooms feeling questionable even though the decor is in the right direction. Without the staff this place would be terrible and I really hope the owners upgrade the aesthetic quality and maintenance in order to reflect the individuals who make this place still feel nice. Would not stay again, would hire the staff.
Gorgeous hotel with a fantastic staff. But I have to say, it’s a real bummer being a vegan guest. There are barely options on the menu, and everything needs to be modified. There’s no vegan protein on the menu, not even a basic tofu dish. We ended up ordering food. Not sure we will come back until there will be changes. The servers also told us they have been getting a lot of complaint. Would love to encourage management to listen - it’s so easy to accommodate and could have such great response
We came here for Memorial Day weekend and had a blast. The pool is a scene, great vibes all day long and we really enjoyed the room and architecture as well. The spa was amazing and they correctly identified a small injury in my shoulder (that I hadn’t mentioned) and focussed on it. Increased my range of motion dramatically. Amazing!
You know the hotel is kind of chic, retro and cool, but I have to say the Kings Highway Breakfast we had in the morning was pretty lame. My wife and I went to share what we thought was a small breakfast, but somehow a small, mediocre chocolate croissant, a tiny, cold avocado toast on a single piece of hard toasted bread, and two lukewarm lattes in small cappuccino cups cost $39. No better than McStarbucks, but at least there you dont get the feeling of being fleeced. To add insult to injury, the 12oz water I drank in the room cost $9. One night, $431. Just not sure it was worth it.
Positive: The friendly staff. Convenient location. Picturesque backdrop of mountains. Adorable room. Good food. Architecture. Negative: We paid extra for a garden patio, but didnt use it because the furniture was stained, dusty and broken. The front door to our room had huge gaps, was concerned about bugs and heat. The pool area looked fun, but the water was very dirty, too many in hottu
Wonderful place, such a lovely atmosphere, great music by the pool, fireplace in the patio, I absolutely love that it is dog friendly! My only wish is that the cow whose skin lies on the floor of the room I was in hadnt been murdered for humans to walk on...
There is so much to love about the Ace! The architecture, the views, the layout, the super cute rooms and comfy beds. Oh, and the FABULOUS food at Kings Highway, with new chef. And lovely service all around (besides one unhelpful front desk person)I would love to give it 5 stars but the Ace needs sprucing up, and better cleaning maintenance...and proper pool cleaning.Enjoy your stay but wash thoroughly.
BEAUTIFUL HOTEL!!! Staff members are pleasant and cheerful!!! Rooms are WELL EQUIPPED with ALL of the niceties youd expect in a 5 star hotel. Food in the restaurant was DELICIOUS!!! Drinks at the bar were well poured and tasty!!!The ambiance at the Wednesday Jazz by the Pool event was comfortable and entertaining... The band was AMAZING!!!When youre in Palm Springs... DEFINITELY go to THIS hotel!!! And check out the store in the lobby... The hotel has partnered with some FANTASTIC vendors that are doing WONDERFUL, IMPORTANT things!!!
I was really excited to stay at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs this past week but was ultimately kind of disappointed! While the decor is extremely cool with a desert bohemian vibe and a repurposed diner, the room had an intolerable smell - like sour gym socks. We had to buy candles and room spray. We never got used to it. Our friends stayed in the room next door which had the same smell. It was incredibly disappointing and distracting.
Checked in at 10pm. Got to our room and there were ants all on the bathroom counter and our shower knob fell off when you turned on the shower. We shook it off and went to bed.Woke up and went to the car to grab something and saw that our electric bikes that we’re locked to bike rack had been cut and stolen. We went and reported to the front desk and they got security. Security said to file a police report and that he always tells people to take anything from their car; bikes etc. and put it in their room when he sees them. When we checked in, the front desk did not warn us of any kind of criminal activity in the parking lot. If this is common, why wouldn’t you warn guests or have signs ?? There are no signs in the parking lot, in the room or anywhere that notify guests that criminal activity is common in their parking lots. They informed us that it does happen once we brought it to their attention. We’ve been traveling across the United States for three weeks and this is the first issue we have had.The front desk apologized but the situation could’ve been handled better. They checked us out early and our key got deactivated. I went back twice to get the a new key to get back into our room and neither time it worked. They had to send security to let us into our room. The whole situation was a hassle and a waste of a complete day in Palm Springs. I would not recommend staying hereAce hotel - you need to install signs that there is theft in your parking lots often. And to take anything of value into your room including locked items on your car. Guests need to be warned of this criminal activity that happens at the hotel parking lot.Very disappointed in our very short 12 hour stay at the Ace and will not return. Hoping this review helps people in the future to bring EVERYTHING into the hotel and saves you from getting any personal property stolen.
I unfortunately had an underwhelming time at this spot. The staff was very curt in helping me through my third party struggles from the front desk, down to nearly no one being available for help by the pool side. Pretty bare bones hotel for the price. Plenty of other nice spots to stay in that would be more accommodating!
So fun! Great vibe. Cool property
Great hotel. Came because they normally have a really good vibe at the pool. Disappointed the two days we were here the music was much too mellow. Seemed like slow folk songs they played the whole time. Missed their eclectic upbeat vibes.
For the cost, the service should be a thousand times better. When we arrived at 3pm, the room wasn’t ready. Front desk said they’d call, but never did, and when I checked an hour later they seemed confused and said it had been ready for a while. Room service non existent— forwarded to voicemail, received call back some hours later. No housekeeping during the day so had to request towels. Rude hostess at patio dining (diner and bar both closed) wouldn’t seat us to drink a coffee. Returned an hour later for breakfast and was asked for the second time(!) by the same girl(!) if we’re hotel guests?? Hello I’m not wearing your stupid wristband to be routinely interrogated. Overall strange blasé attitude from staff, lack of accommodations, no attempt to make up for bar and diner being closed. Oh and inexplicably there was a giant mobile vaccination clinic parked in the courtyard/walkway (just so appropriate on vacation!!!!). Sucks because I’ve been here twice before and stayed at other Ace properties. I work at a big hospitality hub and often recommend Ace hotels… :(:(
Overall it was a lovely hotel. The weekend trip was a last minute decision as a getaway for us. Arriving early evening on Friday, we were very excited by the architecture and style of the hotel. The rooms are adorable. Our room was clean and comfortable. We loved the shower set up and rain shower head. Theres a record player and a few albums available in the room - totally groovy. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel restaurant, Kings Highway. At that time, outdoor dining was our only option. The food and beverages were all very good. All of the staff we had inferactions with were very friendly. For the downside... the pool was way too crowded. The hot tub had 20+ people in it. The pool itself was very dirty (I realize it was the end of the day) there was a layer of sludge floating at the steps that was making me gag as we passed by. My guess it was a mix of sunscreen and leaves, but ugh...a quick run with a skimmer by staff wouldve done a world of good. The next morning everyone was hard at work and the pool area looked very inviting, but just the thought of what I had seen the night before, kept me to planning our day away from the pool.We paid extra for a garden room. I thought it would be a nice place to sit outside to enjoy conversation, some screen time, or a beverage. Also not the case. The seating areas consist of two chairs and a concrete bench the cushions. The cushions were stained and dusty. Both chairs were broken. One with a bent leg, the other with broken strings in the seat area. Also, this is no ones fault, just our luck of the draw - the people staying above us were often times out of their room on the walkway, which directly overlooked our patio, using their phone. Makes the private, walled-in patio, VERY not so private. They were very kind and greeted us every time we arrived home though....
Grabbed drinks on the patio after having dinner at Kings Highway. The Picante Amante was a bite spicer than I was expecting but still tasty. I really enjoyed the Island in the Sun! The atmosphere here is pretty awesome. It was nice to people watch while sipping drinks by the pool.
A little worn for the wear, but still a perfect place to chill in PS. Why do we even go to PS?Exactly.
You can have the accessories of something and not have it this is the Ace Hotel challenge service a bit too casual their inability to anticipate their guests needs even down to getting change for a $20 bill that just come from the ATM in the front lobby. Even if your guest room doors do open to outside your service do not have to reflect as such.
Confusing! Prices are high but rooms are bare-bones and out of date (no Bluetooth connection in room, usb charging, or smart tv connection.) No real vegan food options. Super loud music at the [beautiful] pool area. Nothing is monitored or enforced. Pool capacity was almost 20 people over the limit our entire first day. People eating (and smoking - gross!) in the pool constantly which makes it no surprise the pool is full of bugs and lettuce. Spilled drinks all over the pavement around the pool go uncleaned. Dirty in general. The crowd is 15-20% young couples getting drunk in the pool, the rest is all young families with young children. The place was teeming with kids. So funny that it has a hip reputation still because it feels more like a family hotel. (Which is fine! It’s just trying to be both and not really doing a great job at either.)Not sure I’d stay here again even though we had a nice time. Feel like we would try something more affordable for the level of amenities.
Always a excellent experience at the Ace hotel the rooms are clean the service is excellent. This was our second stay. It was my birthday this time and the Ace send a wonderful note with comp drink tickets for the yummy mango margaritas by the pool. I love that it is so pet friendly. Will take my dog next time..Love this hotel. ❤
Great experience. Pool open until 2 am, very chill. Rooms great. I would return.
This is by far my favorite resort in Palm Springs, especially if you stay here over the weekend. The staff is superb, super friendly, and accommodating. The vibe at this place is always right and background music is great.Drinks are good and when I’ve asked the bartender to surprise me with a drink based of my preferences, I’ve never been let down.Great little place for a getaway.
Normally really good music at the pool. Not sure what happened today. Felt like theyre trying to put everyone to sleep. The music had no beat whats so ever. It was all folk, slow songs. Cmon on its a sunny day, were at the pool drinking. We want to move to the beat.
Fantastic Sunday brunch! The fried potatoes on the Kings Highway Breakfast were SO good! Our favorite cocktails around the table were the Cranky Coyote and the Verde Mary. SO SO GOOD!
As a wedding photographer, I see a lot of venues throughout the year, and the Ace in Palm Springs is hands down my favorite. It is perfect for that effortlessly stylish aesthetic, and the staff are out of this world. They are attentive and make sure that you and your guests are being given the best experience possible. The pool makes the perfect space for a cocktail hour, and there are infinite locations around the property for some of the most gorgeous photos of your day. I couldnt recommend this venue enough to anyone looking to get married here!
Lovely hotel and incredibly unique, have never seen anything like this — it’s peak Americana. Our Uber driver even said it’s the best pool vibes in all of PS.Loved the Portland vibes throughout (Stumptown, etc). SO APPRECIATED the radio in the room and creative minibar options. Beds were comfy. Pool was phenomenal and DEEP (8’). Hotel wasn’t too busy in July (off season).Ace does it right. It’s a completely redone 1965 Howard Johnson hotel, but they kept some of the uniqueness as you should. STAY HERE!🤜🤛
One of my most favorite spots in PS. The Vibe is ALWAYS excellent & the crew is always friendly and helpful and on point. Spent a wonderful time with my daughter/daughter-in-law. 🥰
Everything you might expect at an Ace Hotel. Excellent atmosphere, Great food and beverage program, and incredible hospitality. I visited Ace Hotel Palm Springs on a business trip and was helped by River at the reception desk. He was incredibly kind and provided me an upgraded room + complementary “Ace Hotel Rations” due to a glitch in the reservation system upon checking in. So happy a place like this exists. Truly an oasis in the desert!
Fantastic service and food!Juice was amazing and delicious!!
They offer the best day passc pass around. The pool staff is very friendly and always on point with the service.
Stayed here multiple times and it’s always been excellent. Weekends are fun as it’s buzzy and exciting, but stay through the early part of the week as well to see it relax a bit. ...would probably give it 6 stars if I could.
Husband and I just stayed there for one night. It was an okay stay. Received our paid invoice a day later and not happy that they charged us for minibar alcohol when we do not drink alcohol and only took a bottled water from the minibar. I called twice today- spoke to a Brooke and then again with an Ana. Brooke said she would call me back, but never did. Ana said the cleaner noted a water bottle and alcohol on the minibar tab. I told Ana that the cleaner is lying and that that is stealing from your guests. She claims it was a mistake but it’s super suspicious. Dinner at their Kings Highway restaurant, there is proof that we ONLY ordered mocktails and told the waiter NO ALCOHOL as I’m pregnant and my husband is on medication. Beware of the staff adding things to your bill! This is theft.
So much fun + good vibes at the pool! Got the grits for breakfast and highly rec!
I rarely write reviews and I normally never complain. I also took videos to back up my claims just in case. I just checked out of my one night stay. And my hopes were so high for this place. I stayed in room 144. As soon as you walk into the room you’re greeted by a whiff of sewage. The door was also jammed to where I thought i was stuck inside. I had to put my foot against the door and twist the handle hard. Fire hazard for sure. When i sat on the toilet it was not bolted down so it rocked back and forth. The plumbing is obviously very old, when you turn the shower on the water pressure is not good. Room 144 is also near the dumpster and bright and early at 7am on Monday the garbage truck rolled in. Ace is definitely not the place. What you see online is unfortunately not what you get. Not worth $231 a night.
No hidden charges compared to others! They strive to provide us the best service that exceeds our expectations. Highly recommended for both meetings and friends as well for having an excellent atmosphere. Thank you for everything. I am deeply impressed!
Dirty room, sticky floors, had junk food wrappers when we arrived. Better cord management can be done. For the price of these rooms, more is expected.
Absolutely beautiful. Comfortable beds, retro styling and air conditioning so cold you can use your room as a meat locker.
Relaxing atmosphere with good comfort food and salads. Great customer service.
Stayed here for 3 days and really enjoyed all the amenities provided. The Standard King Plus room was stocked with all the basic necessities and the bed was very comfortable. I really loved the ambiance of the Amigo Room, super vampy with lots of cool decor. Also really enjoyed the quietness of the Commune pool. I highly recommend booking a massage at the Feel Good Spa during your stay, it made the resort experience so much more relaxing. The only gripe I have is that there are not many vegan options available from room service. The menu also does not have clear labeling that is inclusive to dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, GF); my goal was to stay within the hotel premises, however, my partner and I found ourselves having to Uber out to the downtown area every day to get food.
Great pool parties so fsr this year
Ive stayed here a couple of times now, and the quality has changed. The bed is so firm, I woke up with back and hip pain. When we checked into our room, the concrete floor was sticky and I ended up cleaning it myself because house keeping does not come everyday to tidy anymore. It’s just not as clean as one expects at this price point. It also used to be a more adult hotel, and now there are children screaming and splashing in the pool at all hours, which isn’t very relaxing to hear on a vacation. The food at the restaurant is excellent as is the customer service. But overall, the rooms are small and uncomfortable and the children are very loud, so I think next time, we will be staying somewhere else.
Wow, what happened Ace?! The staff was nice but trying to get even basic things was brutal. I tried to get dinner on a normal Thursday night and the restaurant was fully booked (whatever, all good) but room service wouldn’t even pick up the phone. One ring, voicemail full. I asked the desk and they told me to call the same number. One ring, voicemail full. Asked if there was anyway to submit an order to the restaurant I was standing in. No, just keep calling. I called for over an hour before giving up and eating a $14 pack of gummy bears from the minibar for dinner. Also, this location was completely overrun by screaming kids, terrible service, *ok* tiny rooms, insect problems, and bottom line - DO NOT EXPECT AN ACE HOTEL EXPERIENCE HERE.
Do not reserve this hotel. It’s a motel in disguise. I would not pay more than $30 per night for this motel. Do not get deceived by the website and recommendations. I’ve never rated a hotel in my life before, but I’m super mad to even go through hassle to write a comment. They are such a cheapskate that they didn’t even built an elevator or hire a bellboy. They also do not have cleaning service during your stay. All for this service, it costed about $300 a room per night. I’m deeply disappointed. Do not stay here unless it’s $30 per night.
Arrived to dirty sheets and broken AC in the middle of summer. Overall way overpriced for the value.
The hotel lobby was clean! The pool area was clean and well-kept. All the staff was friendly. We had such a nice brunch here and will be back.
Had the Verde Mary. Very delicious and unique!!
The atmosphere is cool but the prices are exorbitant. I guess some people who dont have to worry about money may find $500 a night negligible, and thats totally fine, but I simply cant.
Still the premier destination for hipsters and influencers alike pouring in from Los Angeles. Its modern aesthetics play well with the modernist crowd too though it may be too young for their tastes. Always a good time though.
Great brunch here next to the pool. Try to get a shaded spot though.
Free fun loving energy. A no worries place to catch the positive vibes
Went for an interview and was told tge jobs wer only part time. They tgink I am going to leave a full-time job for a part-time NEVER.
Both the facilities and the staff were excellent. Other Ace Hotels would do well learning guest services from the Palm Springs hotel.111
Hip with a serious Pool Scene + Kool Googie style restaurant that looks like a former Norms painted black.
Love the rooms. Masculine chic’
Spent an afternoon here and got a massage at the good spa and it was amazing! Probably one of the best massages I have ever gotten! Will definitely come back.
Great spot to hang. Not to kid friendly.
Entertaining but a dive for 20yr olds looking for a hook up. The pool looked questionable as far as cleanliness with all the drinking going on...
Ace Hotel is an experience. Its cute and palm springsy as it gets. I had some issues with the hotel given the price and the hype. Here it is:1. Service was not great nor helpful2. Room did not feel 100% clean (rug stains, wall stains etc.)3. COVID restrictions were waaaay too lose. I get it we are the ones traveling during COVID but why put up all the signage/precaution if its just going to be a free-for-all anyway?4. Champagne was delivered as a gift to us, but the staff completely messed up and signed it as a gift from the hotel and not my friend.5. Quiet hours not respected6. Dog Park was scary to go at night, not well lit and was tiny. It also was outside the hotel perimeter so it was sketchy.7. Wifi was terrible.Note: the rooms are very small, and they look more spacious on line.Again this is all context based on the price, if you are going to charge that much for a motel experience then step up the service and cleanliness.
Very loud at night with many party people in the pool/hot tub
Cool but losing its cool. Needs to update soon.
This place is more about the scene than anything else. We tried to go for Sunday brunched but they were booked for 3 hours so we had to go elsewhere.
I was there to go to the Desert X hub. It looks like a fun place.
Some of my best sleep during my brief trip. Great night swimming. Food menu could honestly use some enhancing but otherwise loved my stay
Its like they copy and pasted folks from LA. OK not very original. Service no bueno. Rooms aight.
While I still like the Ace after so many wonderful stays I had to drop a star just for the fact that dogs have taken over, sitting on the giant cushy lounges around the pool like dog beds, wondering around and getting into squabbles with other dogs and continuous barking from one suite I really paid good money to stay at a dog hotel not people hotel, now dont get me wrong I love dogs and would chose them over screaming children all day but come on Ace, set some doggy protocol.
Place was great. Cool rooms and the pool was nice also. The hot tub is large and a good hangout spot for guests. Too bad my second day of my stay an infant pooped in the hot tub and I wasnt able to use it. That was frustrating as I was looking forward to it and was leaving the next morning. Who takes their infant in the damn hot tub??
Enjoyed my stay.
This hotel was really cool, nice amenities, cool renovated rooms that looked like a canvas camping tent and a nice pool and restaurant ambient. The free bikes are awesome to go around the area and spot cool mid-century houses.
Well designed, but they keys don’t stay activated, they don’t clean rooms and the drinks are incredibly over priced.
Security is very nosey. I fell asleep in my car the guy startled me by hitting my window to my Mercedes I thought he was trying to break in.
Run down, slow service. Plenty of better options.
The room was cute. Bar fully stocked. Nice staff. Shower need a stronger pressure. My real issue is I was charged $100 for incidentals. Totally understandable. I was also charged another $325 for unknown reasons. My manager was told that the money would be refunded but it hasn’t been so far. So I’ve paid $425 for a free room.
Nicely renovated looks great
If you’re in Palm Springs, I’d recommend checking out some of the other spots. This pool is overcrowded.
Love the vibes. Great pool.
We live in LA and we love visiting this spot on weekends
Nice eye candy. Dont touch the merchandise.
Beautiful day in the sun, poolside! So much fun! This is THE place to be on a hot summer day. They have so many ways to stay cool in & around the pool. The very best thing is that while most pools in the desert are way too warm to enjoy this time of year, Ace pumps in cool water (summertime only) into the pool, keeping it the perfect cool temp on a 113° day in August. The pool deck is all about comfort...and fun, of course. Theres big round lounging beds for 2 (or more) to sun yourselves on while enjoying food & drinks from the outdoor bar. Some of the loungers are even surrounded by water misters & a killer view of the mountains! Even their regular loungers have their own overhead shades to block the sun when youre needing a break from the rays.Aside from the great pool with the colorful floaties, theres also ping pong & corn hole games. The pool is opened till 2 a.m., while most close between 10-midnight. Its great for a late night swim under the stars. Even if youre not an Ace Hotel guest, you can purchase a daily, monthly or annual pass so you can enjoy all the wonderful amenities Ace offers.Enjoy!
I enjoy the food/dining and programming..
What a quirky wonderful place to spend a few nights. Its an old motel that has been renovated in extremely cool way. Think hipster desert retreat with a chill vibe, tons of intimate areas to catch some privacy along with a very approachable restaurant and killer bar area that makes you not want to leave the property. Im trying to think what is the coolest part of the place... it could be the 24-hour pool that is perfect for those hot desert Summer nights... it could be the working record player along with some unbelievable selection of cool vinyl that resides within every room... it could be that cool cave like bar for happy hour and tremendously cool cocktails... It could even be little things like their stargazing deck, and the fact that some rooms have a great patio area with fireplaces that makes it for the perfect place to chill when you dont feel like doing much else... Overall the appeal is some very good service from all employees I interacted with. if youre looking for a great weekend getaway in a very non-traditional but super cool space this place tough to beat.
Its a tired place, but somehow, young at heart.
Excellent experience overall. We continuously had amazing service and were greeted with enthusiasm every time! The rooms were spacious and very clean and all the amenities were outstanding. I dont know if its just where I live the service is pretty terrible but in Palm Springs I always felt appreciated and welcomed. I would definitely stay at another Ace Hotel when I travel!
Weekend fun but its packed
A stay that feels so much more welcoming than your typical hotel, very hip decor, and incredible service. Highly recommend.
Went there for the full moon drum circle. I have been to Palm Springs many times, but never to the Ace. This is a very well kept, modern hotel that could justify its place as a destination hotel. The staff was very friendly, and helpful, and made our group feel welcome, despite our event being completely free
