The whole experience was overall underwhelming. Service was quite slow and options were limited for the cookies. It was late, so it made sense to not have too many cookie options. Then I kinda stood there with a supposedly warm cookie that was melting my ice cream as I waited to pay for it. I dont think throwing it in the oven did anything, but the idea was the same-- if youre going to warm a cookie and put it on ice cream, make sure to take care of payment ESPECIALLY when no one is at the register. Then there was the food itself. With a tough cookie on soft ice cream, a bite into the ice cream sandwich just collapsed it. Plus, the cookie didnt combine well with the ice cream. That was on me for choosing the combo, but it wasnt as if the staff could help with cookie ice cream pairings. There isnt even a popular cookie sandwich combo type menu. For all that, the price seemed like too much keeping it away from a 3-star rating, and knowing how popular and awesome it once was/ still can be kept me from giving it a 1.CREAM can do better if they care to compete with tea places or Salt & Straw

Got three scoops of different flavors and ended up with more of one flavor. I did get my ice cream fix, but its a bit disappointing because the one I wanted the most (cookie dough) seemed like the one I had the least of.I know their thing is ice cream sandwiches - I was just expecting a bit more consistency in service.

Literally the worst texture of ice cream. So grainy. Most of the flavors were not labeled. It’s too less for one scoop and too much money. Not worth it at all. The toppings are standard, flavors are standard, not extra ordinary except for the fact that it is cookie sandwich ice cream. Grocery store ice creams and cookies are so much cheaper and way better. Never going to cream again. Especially this one since Salt and Straw is so close and way way better ice cream and similar price.

Fabulous warm cookie sandwiches. Tried the oatmeal-raisin cookie and the salted caramel pecan cookie with pistachio ice cream. It was enough for two small eaters. The cookies were not to sweet. It has a nice ambiance with a lot of menu options. Their ice cream cookie sandwiches are my guilty pleasure but their ice cream flavors are also delicious. Lots of vegan, soy-based options are offered which is great for lactose intolerant or vegan people. I loved the soy blueberry flavor, which tasted more like a vanilla sorbet / frozen yogurt but in a good way.

To celebrate the finale of an intense four month induction, I splurged and Dashed dinner AND dessert. My CREAM order consisted of a chocolate milkshake and 1/2 dozen Double Chocolate Chip cookies. It turned out to be dessert for dinner and I KINDA wanna pretend be mad at the deliciousness and not myself but WOW!! The milkshake is so creamy and silky while the cookie is soft and melts in your mouth.. It soothed the senses.. Thank you!

Cream is a very fun place to come in Palo Alto because they play great music and its ice cream so what more could you ask for! They specialize in ice cream cookie sandwiches. You can choose two different cookies for your sandwich and they also have many ice cream flavors to choose from. I love their rainbow sprinkles. There is always a line. It stays open super late on weekends which is awesome.

This is my FAVORITE ice cream shop in palo alto because they have normal flavors, unlike the rest of the shops on university that only offer experimental flavors. Their rewards program is also nice !

My 5 star rating is largely based on the customer service. I had a reward (through the rewards program) for a mini cookie ice cream sandwich with a purchase but was given a free regular size cookie ice cream sandwich. I have a sweet tooth and will be coming back to Cream in Palo Alto.

The strawberry bits in the ice cream had a crunchy freezer burnt texture to them.My wife got the same flavor in a waffle bowl. The waffle bowl was also really stale and had barely any taste. It was almost impossible for her to break it with her spoon. On top of that, it was the smallest waffle bowl I have ever seen.The atmosphere was also really unwelcoming. Loud rap music and two grumpy employees. I wanted a to get a spoon awhile after we had ordered and the employees had disappeared. I ended up just reaching over the counter and getting one myself.Its not like I came at a strange time. I was a Saturday afternoon during peak weekend hours. So theres not really any excuse for such a bad experience. I recommend saving yourself the money and just going to the grocery store and picking up a $1 ice cream sandwich, I guarantee it will be better than this place.TL:DR - Cones and cookies are extremely stale and tasteless, the ice cream is just ok. Was so excited for this place, came around 10:30pm and the lady at the front did not care for the people. She did not seem to like her job and was chatting up and ignoring customers (which caused a huge line and a 15 min wait for something that took her 25 seconds to get). I hoped for better customer service, especially since I heard nice things from others. I tried the sundae and I believe it was decent but the bad service (we waited in line but she didnt even take us first, we got skipped because we tried one flavor).

I am a Gelato (Italian ice cream) fan and to me there is no equal! That said, Cream Palo Alto is definitely worth your time. They are always busy and there is often a line. When I try a new place I will always first try the basics. In this case the Vanilla ice cream flavor us a test will provide insight about the the rest of the menu. If the Vanilla ice cream is good then I will try other flavors in the next visit. So far they have past the first test.

Cream serves ice cream, cookies, ice cream sandwich with cookies, and pie a la mode. I had a straight ice cream cone with banana walnut fudge ice cream. It was OK. Plenty of banana flavor, but fewer nuts than I would like. The fudge flavor did not come through. It was creamy with a good taste overall.Seating upstairs is like a balcony and very little seating downstairs. On the day I was there in January and 50 degrees, I dont know why the balcony was fully open and exposed to the outside on a cold, rainy day. The shutters should have been closed, but then again, am I asking for it by getting ice cream on a cold winter day?

An older location that was fairly busy on a Saturday afternoon. The place seemed clean overall and the staff helped customers quickly. Pricing wasnt too bad ($4.99 for two cookies and ice cream), but I never got offered my topping that was supposed to be part of the deal. Another downside would be they dont give you a container or cup to put your ice cream sandwich in, just a wrapper, which doesnt really work too well.

Very good icecream. I really loved each flavor I tasted. I had a hard tile deciding which ones I wanted in my bowl. The service is very good and fast. The employees are very nice and patient.The only thing I didnt like is that they barely have any place to sit. A table with 3 chairs and the bar chairs at the laptop bar. We were a corw of 7, so we ended up just getting the icecream and walked outside. Well. The place is very reduced. It would be perfect if they would have more accommodations.

What a horrible service. The lady gave me an ice cream with a broken cone, my kid got it and the scoop falled. I miraculously got it before touching the floor. Up at the front youre asked to choose a flavor of cookie and a flavor of ice cream.I wish wed been offered samples of the ice cream, as I definitely would have chosen differently. I got the salted caramel because, as I said to my friend, Ive never tasted anything like it. And I still havent... because the ice cream didnt taste like anything. It just tasted like cold. Meanwhile, there was a lemon zest flavor in the tubs that had not been listed in the menu. I would have gotten that for sure. Maybe thats flavorless, too, though.I was so excited to get the sandwich. It was warm and big and looked beautiful. But we quickly discovered its hard to eat. The cookies were hard, the ice cream shot out the sides, etc. I attacked it mouth-first, my friend tried a spoon. Both of us ended up frustrated and messy.I do appreciate that the whole thing is $2.50, as other ice cream desserts seem to run into the $4 range fairly often. But I really DONT appreciate the so-called cash discount of 50 cents. That amount seems out of line with how much credit card companies charge a business to use their credit card. And even if that is the *exact* amount, I dont appreciate that charge being passed on to me.Finally, why not improve the flavors? I hadnt read the Yelp reviews before going, and I wish I had as Id have known not to get the flavorless salted caramel. But if people consistently say its flavorless (likewise for other flavors), a good business owner would say, Hey, our customers are unhappy with our product. Lets improve the product. As a customer, Id love to see that.
