If I could give more stars I would. Tim is an incredibly skilled and knowledgeable mechanic (in not just marine but also car/ truck engines as well) and an even better guy. I ripped the deck out of an older boat and Tim and Billy were with me every step of the way. For the things I could do myself Tim allowed me to use his tools and supplies to save some money. For what I didn’t know how to do Tim took the time to explain and TEACH what he was doing (both an extremely rare find and goes to show the honest business and services Top Repair provides). I won’t be going anywhere else but Top Repair and I recommend these guys to everyone who needs work on anything that burns gas. He is the outboard GURU!!

Tim and Bill performed top notch work on a restore of a classic Chris Craft Lancer. A head turner where ever we go. Compliments always. Installed teak swim platform, teak added to interior and a teak instrument panel. Also installed new electronics and all new drive shaft, cutlass bearing and prop along with hydraulic steering. Real pros that you don’t find anymore. Local treasures .

I had motor problems, it was idling really high and tim told me to bring it in and he would take a look at it .he immediately found the problem and assisted me with fixing it, then he went over my boat with me and gave me advice on lots of other things, hes very knowledgeable and I really appreciate tim taking the time out to get me back on the water

He somehow managed to get my old Evinrude 50hp running better than ever, and taught me how to do several things on my own to maintain it too. Tim rebuilt an older Evinrude 175 for me. Now I know why people say he is an outboard Guru. He takes the time to explain what he is doing, though I witnessed many times when customers didnt bother listening. He guided me through the process of turning an old piece of scrap to a piece of art.Even after he was done with the rebuild he cared enough to take the time and make sure my family and I would enjoy his work. If you need quality boat work this should be your first and last stop. Take the time to listen to what he is saying, and you will realize Tim cares about what he does. I wont mention which one, but I saw a bad review by someone. I was at the shop when Tim spoke to this person and explained the problems on his boat and what it would require for proper repair. Tim spoke with respect to this person and the customer didnt even pretend to listen, yet he was able to complain after he ignored Tim. Oh well! All I can say is how happy and pleased I am that he was recommended for my work. If you want it done right go to Tops Marine Repair. I feel Ive gained a great marine mechanic and friend.

Tims work is unmatched me and him worked on my 2003 Evinrude 150. He taught me many new skills and explained how problems can occur and how to go about fixing them. My motor was running terrible when it came in and when it left it had never ran better. I cant thank Tim enough for the work he did and I will be seeing him again for any future repairs and maintenance

I got an old small boat with a 30 yr old Johnson/Evinrude 30hp outboard. The outboard had not ran in 3+ years and once I got it running with the help of a few friends with outboard knowledge, it was running very rough, stalling, spitting...and it is a mish-mosh of Evinrude/Johnson engine parts and mid section. An acquaintance recommended Tim at Top Repair: Hes your guy...he knows those motors in and out. So I called and took the boat and motor to him on a Friday.Once I got to his shop Tim came right over, we put the old outboard right in his water test tank and he adjusted the carburetor. After a few minutes, it was running pretty well, but he advised to have a service performed (t-stat, gaskets, etc) and I scheduled a repair service with him the following week.Tim called the following week confirming all parts were in and to bring the boat in. 2 days later, just in time for the weekend, he calls you are all set, she runs well and Id like you to hear it running when you pick it up. All excited, I went over, and he ran it in his test tank....motor sounded so smooth, solid idle, great response....I could not be happier. I took it out in the bay that weekend and the 30 yr old frankenstein outboard ran like a top....smooth and varying throttle was no issue.After having the motor shut off several times and idling to shore a few times, this was a welcome experience; to have the outboard running so well. Ill be heading to Tim for all my boat repairs. He offers great service, excellent scheduling and super easy to work with. Great guy to chat with too.Thank you Tim!!

Tim is awesome! Really cool guy and a great mechanic. I called him came down and he dropped what he was doing to help me. He knew immediately what was wrong and fixed it within a few hours. I called Tim on a Sunday about my 70 hp evinrude not running right he told me to bring it down. He tore down the entire motor in front of me until he found the problem and it ended up being a complete blown power head. He gave me a very reasonable price for an overhaul and its something Im definitely considering. This guy only does work if you stand directly behind him and push him to do it. Claims hes teaching you about your repair while you do the bulk of it. Then charges for labor hours.Would rather wait weeks for parts delivery than go out in public to a store so he can have parts same-day. Repair took three times longer than it should have because hes just lazy.

Timmy at TOP is the best. I had a problem with my boat going on plane took it to Timmy he reworked my prop added vent holes and fins everything is fine now. Today i took boat out of winter storage and tried to start it it was leaking gas talked to Tim he said bring it down and i will take look at it. All it was was a stuck float he adjusted the carbs and sent me on my way. He knows what he is talking about. Would recommend to all needing service..
