Great tamales and tacos. Tortillas were the best I’ve had. Wonderful service too.

Wonderful. Met the owner Simon. He is cool guy with an interesting story and love for quality food. The tortillas were home made that morning and delicious. Real bacon and very crispy. 10/10 - will be back. Tamales were great

Tacos missing on the order, had to drive all the way back to the restaurant to get and it took 20+ minutes to get the tacos that were missing from the initial order, tacos were not bad, but can probably do better on the service

Highly highly recommend their tamales - I tried their green chile chicken and pork tamales and they were some of the best Ive ever had.That being said, they can work a little bit harder on their customer service. There are two lines, one for ordering and one for pickup, I placed and paid for my order online. I waited at pickup with no acknowledgement to ask if I was picking up an order, even though there were three employees at front. Ended up having to wait 10 minutes in line just to receive my order that was already ready.Second, I asked if I could have togo utensils and the lady at the register said everything I needed was in the bag. Well, there was NO silverware, so the rice and beans I ordered ended up going to waste.Optional plates and utensils would be a great addition for your customers who do not live in Pecos so they can eat in their car.Your tamales really are the star here. I plan on coming again in the future. Thanks.

Worth the stop! One of those great authentic hole-in-the-wall stops. We got lunch platters with two different tamales each. We ate the yummy tamales and have plenty of leftovers with the freshly made Tortilla shells, beans n rice n salsa. The cashier was great! Happy, helpful. Take out, no dine in.

My husband works in Pecos so he wanted to bring some tamales home from this place instead of Rosas. He tried to order and the worker kept saying she could not here him and basically said she would give him a mixture. It was not what he wanted but a storm was approching.and wanted to get home. The tamales had good amount of meat but no flavor. If you like dry tamales and rude employees this is your place

The atmosphere is energetic. Everyone talks to you like family. The food is authentic and great tasting. Would definitely recommend.

Stopped in Pecos for dinner. I got a half dozen of the new habanero tamales. Very tasty. Not terribly spicy, but had good flavor. I took them camping, and they tasted just as good the next day too. A great gem in the area.

In 66 years of living, I have never liked tamales! It took La Nortena tamales to change my mind. The chicken, green Chile, and cheese tamales are wonderful. Also, the pork and red tamales are just as tasty. And, you just can’t miss having the homemade tortillas that are used for tacos. This really is a ‘must stop’ on our way to CA!!

You think you only need a dozen tamales but you really need two dozen, trust me. They are that good!

Amazing food Im from El Paso and this place hit home on the spot been to other restaurants there in Pecos and nothing came close to our food like this place highly recommend it!!!

Came highly recommended so we stopped in. Wife grabbed 4 tamales and they were absolutely delicious. Definitely see why they are so highly recommended.

Hands down the best tamales in West Texas, definitely worth the drive from Midland to Pecos but now they have a location in Odessa so you don’t have to travel for your fix.

Really good breakfast burritos; possibly the best Ive ever had. Same with the salsa that comes with them. Try getting a spam, egg, and potato with both types of cheese and dumping that salsa cup in there. Fantastic.

Wow! We were just passing though but I would drive here for these tamales! Those cheese ones-- yum! My husband hates tamales but loved theses. I think its the dryness he hates and these are anything but dry. Thank you for your skill and time.

The customer service is above and beyond. I can think of 40 other restaurants that could learn from these folks. The red chili pork tamales are hands down the best I have ever had. Will be returning!!!!

6/17/21 its been five months since my last visit, (I live four hundred miles away) I ordered my usual dozen tamales $17.00 including the new spicy pork, outstanding and well worth the price. Like everything else in life, over the years the cost has gotten bigger, the size of the tamales has gotten smaller but one thing that hasnt changed is the flavor, its huge. The cost of one dozen was $17.00 out the door. I was lucky, due to the holiday week they were open on Monday.

We arrived ravenous five minutes before closing on a Saturday afternoon. I don’t even like tamales (or so I thought) but my wife loves them so I ran in and ordered a dozen along with two tacos (chicken fajita and barbacoa). Immediately I was met by a delightful woman who noticed I was pregnant (and very hungry) and set about helping me with my order even though they were closing for the day.The tacos were full of tasty meat and the salsa was spicy and flavourful, and the tamales were fantastic! My wife says they’re the best tamales she’s ever had and I am now converted. We ate them all the way back to Dallas (7 hours!) and decided we’d had such an enjoyable experience in this surprising pit stop on our road trip that we’d write our first google review.As I was leaving, the gentleman that my wife had been chatting to through the drive up window (maybe the owner?) came through to give me some guava empanadas for the road. It cheered up our long journey and we will always remember the excellent tamales and tacos of Pecos and the kind people who work there 🌶😁

Wow. Driving from Dallas to Phoenix and I needed some food on a Sunday morning, just past 8am. Its a couple miles off the 20, but it is worth it. $13 for a plate with two tamales, beans, and rice. This is real food so if you need a $2 meal, Im sure there is a McDonalds nearby. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Great only I asked for mild chicken Tamales and he gave me red hot ones I cant eat hot spicy foods so I couldnt eat them.

Great place to get some lunch or pick up something for dinner, everything homemade and very delicious! They have a small store inside with mostly their own packaged sweets and chicharrón and frozen tamales but they also have bottled soft drinks and other things of that nature, as I walked in I was greeted with a smile and everyone was really nice and engaging, which is a rarity anymore!

High prices food is ok but not for a High prices$3.0 for 3 tortillas dont go there

Stopped here unexpectedly when our hunger kicked in our road trip. Without much choices in the area we decided to go with some authentic Mexican food since the area seemed very full of the culture.This place was honestly very confusing. When we pulled up we weren’t sure how to order because it was a very untraditional drive through. Eventually we got pulled in and ordered, but after we did the people behind us had to wait ten minutes til they made out food and brought it to the window. Not a very efficient process and in fact one of the people behind us left, I’m sure because of the wait.We finally got our food and the burrito was pretty good, but they took out the potatoes even though that was in the name of the dish. Fortunately, it was probably a good think because the potatoes were not cooked well. Also the empanadas were terrible.Honestly not the best experience, but the price was cheap and I did have 1 good item. I should have tried the tamales instead.

I dont go to Pecos often, and thats almost entirely for the best. I say almost entirely because this place exists. They sell phenomenal tamales, and whenever Im in the area, its worth the detour to swing by and pick up a dozen.Their pork tamales are great, but the green Chile chicken and cheese tamales are where its at. Spicy and delicious.

Ok im a very honest person, and very transparent, the tamales were ok, overhyped, my favorite type of tamales are the green chile chicken ones, but this place made me not like them, they taste as if the green sauce came from a can! Very dissappointed, staff is lovely nothing personal, but food wise 👎

Traveling family here. Read reviews and decided why not. DO IT! You wont be disappointed by them like many other west Texas restaurants. Tamales are really generous in size. They were great quality overall. A little heavy in the masa...but I like mine that way. The barbacoa tacos were amazing. Added pico 👌 and they were perfect. The tortillas are fresh homemade. Will be coming back soon!

The tamales were really good. Theyre pretty pricey for a dozen but they are twice the size of any tamale I have ever had. I will definitely be back to try what else they have.

We ordered brisket burritos and added cheese/potato/onion/cilantro/pico/refried beans and everything was amazing!!! Red chile and pork tamale was also incredible. Extremely fast and friendly service, and very reasonable prices. Easy contactless ordering and pickup from windows outside, even with a tent and A/C unit to stay cool while we waited. Such a pleasant surprise on our long road trip from Carlsbad, NM, back home to Austin. We will be back next time we stop through Pecos!

Went in yesterday for first time and was a great experience. We spoke to Simon for a good while about food and the history of the business. It’s very obvious that pride is taken in their product and service, the tamales we brought home for dinner were delicious and perhaps the best I’ve ever had . This place is going to be a regular for us, without a doubt 😎👍

So I ordered 1 and a half dozens of tamales and a pound of barbacoa and didn’t notice I was missing a dozen tamales until my kids had already got some out of the half dozen, I tried calling them no answer so I quickly drove back to tell them, my total was $43 and change keep in mind, and they wanted to “see the bag” this is what really pissed me off I mean what am I supposed to snatch the food back out of my kids mouth and take it to them/ maybe next time I’ll just have to take time to pull everything out in front of them to check the order. But after all they did come through and gave me the dozen only after they reran my card and conducted an investigation at which point I was already irritated and fixing to walk out. The employees were professional and patient with me I can’t say they gave me attitude or anything so I’ll give them another chance.

Excellent food stopped in from Memphis while down working and these are the best tamales ever. Great people waited and served me even at closing.

Im from San Antonio, Texas, which has THE BEST TEX-MEX FOOD ON THE PLANET! But truth be told, three tamales at La Norteña rival any found in San Antonio. Theyre not cheap, but in my opinion, are worth every penny! They have pretty damn good burritos as well, and some REALLY good local honey.

Anytime I am in the area I buy several dozen chicken tamales vaccum seal and frozen for the trip home and of course I eat a dozen fresh. Everyone should try them. They can ship them anywhere.

Im a regular here when I work in the area. Their tamales are the bomb. I always get the green with a lil spice. The red tamales are good as well, my kids love them. I was excited that theyre opening a store in Midland in Sept or Oct, looking forward to that since im not always in the Pecos area a lot. the owner and his son are nicest guys that greet you in the mornings as well as their friendly staff. Cant go to wrong with their tamales!

There a great place in pecos, tx and i known about them before they even had that building. There there best tamale factory that make by the quantity and you always leave with a smile and satisfied.

The tamales were great as usual(a little dry)however there apparently wasnt enough of it. The shelves and coolers were almost bare and they were out of rice. I was disappointed but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say they must have had a busy day.
