Brad quickly identified the problem with the thermostat and reprogrammed it. He also checked the system over ensuring it was in good condition. He was very professional and knowledgeable, and provided EXCELLENT customer service. I hope my warranty company continues to use Family Heating and Air!

I contacted them on a Wednesday received a call back that Thursday morning from MR. TIM NATIONS. After speaking with him on the phone he was able to fit me into his schedule and met with me that same day. He was very helpful and got things done faster than I expected. Our AC cut out on us and they were able to come out and get it fixed fairly quickly. The technician was very professional in explaining to us what exactly caused the issue and what he had to do to repair it. He also explained to us some maintenance we could do ourselves to keep the AC running right. The repair price was pretty expensive and I don’t really have much to compare it to but we went through our home warranty and didn’t have to pay out of pocket. Would definitely recommend this company though.

I thoroughly enjoyed speaking to my technician Asa here in MS. He explained everything to me in a way that I can understand as far as what was going on with my appliance. The customer service for this company was top notch and was refreshing to see as its rare these days to get professional, quality service, affordable pricing!! I must also add Asa went above and beyond to accommodate me with scheduling as I work in New Orleans but live in Gulfport that meant so much to me!!! I have now used this business 3 times with my Home Warranty and they are wonderful every time they come out. First couple of times it was Asa that came out and today was Kirk. Repairman came out first visit on time. I called because I have 2 rooms that hardly have any air coming out of vents. I thought maybe a duct had a hole or something. He didnt agree with what I thought was wrong. He inspected the unit and said the coil was blocked and not letting air flow through. I wasnt sure about that because rest of house gets icy cold. I ask if he was sure it wasnt the duct? And could he please check. He opened the ceiling door and peeked his head in and saying it was ok. But Im not a repairman, so.... He told me he would order the part and call me when it was in to come back and install it.4 weeks later still no call. I call and get a receptionist (I guess). She says shell have him call me. 3 days later I call back because no one called. Same girl, same message. 3 days later, I call. Same girl, same message but says shell email a copy to the owner. So a few days later, we do this all again. Next she says shell check with parts guy to see if its here. She comes back and says shell let me speak with the parts guy. She transfers me, he wont pick up. We go through this game for about 2 weeks. Now its been over 6 weeks and I get a call from a manager saying that my warranty wont covering because we did the damage ourselves. BS!!!I wont ever call or use them again. Terrible customer service.
We have used Family Heating and Air for almost 4 years for our bi-annual inspection on our unit! I have always been satisfied with their work and feel very informed after their visit. I give 5 stars to this company AND 5 stars to Derek Thomas who was our inspector today. He was very personable, very thorough and detail oriented, took his time making sure everything was in working order, put up with my questions and answered them and also very professional to boot! He is an awesome asset to your company.
Our AC decided to die on the hottest day of the year AND on a Friday. I contacted the office and they sent our info to Tim Nations. He managed to squeeze us in that day! He was very friendly and informative. We got financing in minutes and was on the schedule for next day installation.The installation team of Dakota & Henry came out as scheduled and were very professional. They worked diligently in the heat to get our new system installed. We were very pleased with their work and appreciated how nice they were to our needy dogs that felt they came to the house to visit/pet them.Overall we had a great experience and will recommend them to everyone we know in the area.
Very quick to come out and assess the problem. Enjoyed taking the time to explain what all our options were in detail. Major A/C work is always expensive but they make it easy to finance. Even have options for no interest for 12 months. They are now the only A/C business we will be using. That is largely due to the friendly service we received from Matt, Dakota, Henry, and Dane. They were all very professional and respectful.
Very professional. Tried to schedule service with another company. They couldn’t come out for an evaluation until mid November. Called Family Heating and Air on a Monday. Tim came out on Wed to evaluate our needs. This was an urgent need since my wife has lung cancer and has been coughing a lot. Tim saw the need for vent cleaning as well as seeing mold spores in A/C unit. Explained what they would do and install a UV light to handle the mold. On Friday of the same week Dakota and Aaron were here and did a complete cleaning of our system and installed the U V light fixtures. Technician Matthew Jenkins arrived this afternoon to repair my American Standard central air which had not been cooling for several days. He was courteous, friendly and knowledgeable and went right to work checking the system out. After only a few minutes he determined the problem was a faulty capacitor and replaced the part and thoroughly explained the issue to my satisfaction. I would rate Matts work as professional. and efficient. If I were the company HR manager I would hire Matthew with our hesitation.I highly recommend Family Heating and Air Conditioning of Pensacola.
Kaine was very professional and kind when servicing my a/c unit that was not working. He was able to get my unit back working to cool my house even though my unit needed to be replaced and explained everything that was needed. Our heat pumps compressor bit the dust and Family Heating and Air came out yesterday to diagnose, and they returned today to install a new system. Damon and Frank worked as a team (one outside and one inside) and completed the install very quickly and professionally. I appreciate the Family Heating and Air making my repair a priority.
They came out and diagnosed the problem, gave me a lot of options and installed the new units. The men that did the installation were wonderful too! They were very kind & professional, talked to me throughout the day, explaining things as they went. Being without AC is never good but I was very impressed and appreciative of their work!
I used them several years ago and got good service. But on Sunday I called them to do a repair and they said the technician would call me back. I waited 4 hours and never heard back.So I called again and they took my information again and told me once again that theyd have a technician call me. They never did, so I wasted the whole day waiting to hear from them - by the time I realized they werent going to call me back it was too late to call anyone else to do the repair that day either.Finally I called them again first thing the next morning. They didnt seem to know about my previous calls at all, and they said they wouldnt be able to get to me Monday either and that they couldnt give me a timeframe for the repair.I get that theyre busy, but they need to just let people know that up front so they can make other plans. Dont repeatedly promise to call them back and just ignore them.I gave up on them and called Express Air Conditioning & Heating, they immediately gave me a time window that the technician would come by the same day, and they had someone out and my A/C fixed within 4 hours. Much better experience.
The technician was professional and courteous. He explained and showed me everything that was serviced. He gave me some pointers to help my unit run efficiently with no pressure. I respected his honesty and will definitely use them again.
I bought my unit from this company one year and five months ago.. I followed the original maintenance plan with two maintenance visits per year.. I then enrolled in the maintenance plan the company offered.. on a Tuesday night my unit quit cooling… I called at 6:45 am the next morning (Wednesday) and reached an answering service and she assured me my info would be sent to a tech.. two hours later I called back and was told they could not come out until Friday, with no guaranteed time. That would be almost three full days without air, my unit is just over a year old.. that same afternoon I called and requested a sooner time, the lady said she could have someone out tomorrow.. (Thursday) online the maintenance package information states if the tech is not at my door within 24 hours of the report of the issue the service fee is waived.. I was in fact charged. When I called to inquire, the office manager was placed on my call and was very condescending, she told me that I had an appt made within 24 hours, I then again tried to read the info from the website.. she cut me off and said “I have it here in front of me”.. I again read from the website.. she then started talking over me, telling me that the $79 wasn’t worth losing a customer.. then I told her I wanted more details of the plan to make sure it was beneficial to me.. she then said “I’ll tell you why it’s beneficial to you” her attitude was SO ugly, I cut her off and told her that due to her attitude I’d call and cancel tomorrow.. and I ended the call.. I haven’t been this angry in a LONG time.. one star for that ladies customer service.. and apparently $79 is with losing a customer !

We have used this company for three years. We live in Nashville and this is our retirement home. We always schedule when we are in town and the office has always accommodated us until now! It’s a new person I’ve been dealing with and she doesn’t understand we are on a limited time frame. We have either a Friday or Saturday to be maintained. I was told we would be an early morning service today. It is now three o’clock and haven’t heard a word. I told the office worker that we have a four o’clock appointment as we try to get our business done in the short time we have. I guess it will be a few more months that we put this service off to as we will leave on Sunday. Very, very disappointed with the young lady that displayed little concern. She is not an asset to your company.

Visit was quick and easy. Would give a 5-star rating if they provided a time window for service visits in advance. But since they dont, you have to have your entire day free. And thats difficult for working people. Otherwise, service was excellent!
Derek came out and took care of the problem we were having with our AC and made recommendations on what we need to do next so we will not keep having trouble with it. He was so knowledgeable and personable and we want him to take care of all of our HVAC needs as we feel we can trust him and the company he works for. No wonder they come highly recommended!

Next day service was exceptionally quick. This AC unit has been breaking down frequently and the last company claimed many things were broken and it needed more coolant. It did not sound legit. Asa Powers was quickly able to discover a connection that needed a minor repair, proving the other company wrong or worse. Very glad to have found an honest and reliable company to work with going forward.

Their employees are knowledgeable and have Integrity. It takes a good business owner/manager to keep good employees so Im guessing this ethic comes from the top down. They charge $79 for an estimate to clean your air handler.Originally I had one star but I got a phone call from a manager and she waived the estimate fee. I was able to schedule an estimate appointment the same day with Bob. I had a very nice conversation with Bob and am waiting for my estimate. I will update again after I get it.

Getting a technician to our home was super frustrating. We had our appointment changed and canceled several times. The customer service agents that I spoke with were friendly on the phone, just NOT helpful, or empathic. We had to wait over a week, before a technician came to our house. A week, with no AC. In July. During a heatwave. Our tech was also nice. Very helpful. He performed his job duties and answered all of our questions.

I’ve been using Family Heating and Air for 6 years. They installed my system and I’ve continued using them for regular servicing and any maintenance needs that arise. Recently we had an issue with our system that required me to go through my home warranty company and a different company was sent out to do the work. I should have known better. 4 visits and several months later I have the same issue. I contacted my home warranty company and insisted that they send Family Heating and Air out to take a look at my problem. As expected the tech, Ian Clark, was super professional and did a thorough job evaluating the issue. He took the time to actually identify and fix the issue instead of changing parts to run up a bill. Exactly why I trust them with my preventative maintenance and why I will never allow my warranty company to assign a random company again.
We called after hours for a emergency help. Ian Clark called me back right away and responded within 15-20 minutes. He was awesome! Explained everything he was doing, troubleshot/diagnosed and fixed the issue. I would recommend this company and especially Ian to anyone.
We had a power surge that struck our ac unit. Our technician quickly diagnosed the main issue was a blown transformer. But as our luck would have it the blower motor was also bad. He had the parts to make the repairs and we are back to enjoying the cool air. Kaine, our technician, explained everything as he was working on it and was very polite and informative.
Im under the impression that the installation went ok. There was a lot of loud pressure clunking when it was left unattended after the initial installation so Im hoping that it didntcreate an underlying wear and tear problem waiting to happen. It makes me suspicious as the maintenance program is just easy money for them and they failed to show up to simply change out the filter for six months of effort after it became a year old. Ive moved on to another company for my maintenance now but Im baffled because they sold me on being honest responsible reliable people. Only time will tell.

(Update following below) For years I used another AC company and when I called they said they no longer serve my neighborhood because of parking. I had no idea who to call. Family Heating & Air came to mind so I checked reviews and gave them a call. They came out the same day and got my AC running. However, it was a temporary fix because the unit is old and needs replacing. Justin was my tech and he is very professional and friendly. It was a pleasure having him in my home. I had to call him back today because it stopped working again. Needless to say, he will be installing a new unit in a few days. I received communication frequently on status updates, etc. I am very pleased with the service I received from Family Heating & Air and look forward to using them in the future.UPDATE: I tried to write a new review but I couldnt so decided to update here. On June 21st an new heating and air unit was installed in my home by Dakota and Antonio. They were a wonderful team working together, friendly and professional. They persevered when there was a difficulty in getting lines through the tubing in the foundation from the inside unit to the outside. They stayed calm and kept working until it was done and part of the time that was in the pouring rain. They worked well into the evening to complete the job. I was impressed with how hard working they were. It was a long day for them. When I thanked them for their hard work, they in turn thanked me for keeping them employed by needing a new unit. Antonio mentioned this to me several times. Family H&A are blessed to have Dakota, Antonio and Justin working for them.

This company was on two separate occasions selected by American Home Shield to service an air conditioning unit. On both occasions, the company scheduled an appointment without speaking with me at all. I was unaware of the appointment until I received a call from the technician stating he was on his way. The most recent time (after I canceled with AHS) it happened again. The tech called to let me know he was in route…. The tech was very apologetic and kind, and I’m sure the company itself is probably amazing, BUT their communication is horribly lacking.
After a few weeks of waiting for service and repair because of a home warranty company our upstairs AC was finally fixed by two great individuals, Dakota and Dane. Dakota made it his personal mission to fix our ACs drain pipe and went over and beyond to run a new one in the July Florida heat. He and Dane were very professional and helpful. I attempted to get a quote for a new ac unit and was told Bob would call me twice. I have yet to receive a call or voicemail. I opted to reach out to them based on their google reviews and am bummed that I was never able to get a customer care rep to come out.Update: A customer care rep contacted me right after this post so I have changed it to 4 stars and hope to give 5 after meeting with them.
New A/C and heat pump installed 2 July. Paid more for Family campared to other quotes based on recommendations and promise of great service. Two workers did the instal- Tyler and Antonio. Both were good workers, Tyler complained a lot but in a friendly way, Antonio was very nice and friendly. They did not finish the drain line, the company said they would finish it right away- two months later after several emails and phone calls it finally got done- they left a bit of a mess outside the house with drain parts. I was also promised a one month follow up to check on everything, but heard nothing back after a month and had to call/email/text a couple times to make that happen.Unit working as advertised, but didnt get the special treatment I was promised up front.
Our A/C had been on it last leg for about 5 years and the heating system wasnt to far behind. Then they decided to die together while we had guests staying with us. After getting 6 estimates we decided to go with Family Heating & Air Conditioning. Pricing and Brands/products were similar from other HVAC companies but Justin seemed genuinely interested in getting the best pricing for us and arranged to have next day installation (not in a week or 2).The next morning Taylor and Damon arrived. Throughout the day they were professional, personable and respected my family and my property. They accommodated and acknowledged me whenever I had questions and took the time to explain what was going on. They worked hard and long to make sure my family and I would not be without heat and air for another night. I was amazed that only 2 guys did all this work in one day. Every house is different, so each installation is a custom retrofit, these guys made it look easy.Should you choose Family Heating and Air you would be lucky to get Tyler or Damon as your installers and Justin as your estimator.So yeah, my wife and I would definitely recommend this company based on our experience so far.

Derek was here to do a maintenance check on our unit. He was very courteous and prompt. The office texted me several times to remind me of our appointment and that a service technician would be in touch when we were next.Derek arrived and introduced himself and went straight to work. When he was finished, he went over his findings and recommendations. We were very pleased with how well the appointment went, starting when the office called to say we were due for our maintenance check, to making the appointment, then providing updates on the day of the appointment.This is a wonderful, caring business.snd we are so happy our son recommended them to us.

May be an ok company for residential, but from a commercial standpoint this company wasted much time and money. I received service from a company with seemingly more experience and have not had any issues with my system. Id recommend customer service training for the entire group. They handle escalated scenarios perhaps worse than any other company Ive ever done business with.
Duct and vent cleaning today by Joe and Ian and semi-annual inspection and system cleaning earlier this week by Jeff (and another tech whose name I didnt catch) were prompt, thorough, and well explained. All the techs were friendly, courteous and respectful, and cleaned up the work areas. FH&A has earned my trust.Later in the same month, an installation of a new heat pump system done by Tyler and Damon was another positive experience. They communicated about their arrival, worked through the day in a professional and personable manner, and were eager to make us, as customers, happy with their service. The Bryant system appears to be state-of-the-art, and a good value.
After hours technician came out to check our unit which had stopped cooling. He was unable to to a repair at the time because of the nature of the problem. Tech was knowledgeable and friendly.

Very efficient and knowledgeable. They checked all necessary parts of my outside and inside unit. I was provided with several pieces of information that would keep my unit running smoothly.
Did a great job fixing the problem but charged an outrageous amount for labor when I have warranty on the parts. The part was $1200 which was covered so then I get charged $325 for labor that took less than 30 minutes to fix not to mention $80 just for them to show up. Customer service or whoever I talked to her a slight attitude when I questioned the charge and then told me thats what you get comparing it to getting Tylenol at the hospital and the up charge you cause you got from the hospital. Plenty of better companies out there that dont charge unnecessary amounts. There scamming customers out of there money be careful with this company.

Changed from great service and five stars to one star (zero if able) and a “would absolutely not recommend” to any- and everyone I know. Waited for over two weeks for an A/C issue to get fixed with a rep cancelling the night prior or plain out not even calling or showing up. Horrible customer service and zero professionalism.
