In March I, like many others, suddenly had a lot of time to spend at home. I have always loved to read so I checked out my local bookstore to see if they had curbside. Lucky for me they did! I stocked up on so many books. Jessica was on top of it with her Google form that listed all of the current books in stock, so it was very easy to shop online.If you get a chance to go in store, it is very clean, organized, nicely lit, and you feel very welcome. Jessica is a very kind person who inspires me as a fellow business owner. She is a supporter of so many others in the community, so you can feel confident about supporting a great business, a great person, and a great shop when you come here.The selection is fantastic, and I am more times than not able to find exactly what I need. If not, I can either get it on bookshop to still support lit on fire or wait until its back in stock!

This store is amazing. So inviting and cozy, with an amazing selection of very reasonably priced books. I absolutely cannot wait to spend more time at this store.

Jessica is one of the most pleasant shop owners to work with. She is knowledgeable and always works with you to find what you are looking for. Her little shop of paradise is a true treasure.

I have been shopping here for about 4 years. Great selection of new and used books. During the Covid lock down the owner will pick books for you and do curbside pick up. Love the store and the owner.

This is my favorite little bookstore, with lots of selections and the amazing help of Jessica whenever Im looking for something particular. Every gift Ive gotten from here for someone else has always been loved and cherished. The best part is your money is going directly into the community! I will always come back!

Amazing little book store on Main near the intersection with Sheridan. The owner is fun to talk to, very helpful and it is open late enough so I can go in after work without rushing. Overall the selection is good and the section on Illinois is quite varied. The store often hosts events such as read-ins and the occasional movie night, to an amazing array of social events. It is worth the stop and there is a small public parking lot next door.

Excellent book store!

This store is one of my favorite places in Peoria. Jessica is super helpful and always has a unique selection to choose from. Since its not packed with every single option like the big stores or online it helps me to keep reading books by different authors and Jessica is great at helping to guide towards a new author or book based on what I like. Cant recommend this place enough. It has turned me into quite the bookworm : )

Really nice bookstore that has ample seating. I went here for the Drag Queen Story Hour with my son and both of us had an amazing time. The owner posts new books on Facebook so you can see what new titles are on offer.

This store features a clean and well curated selection of books as well as unique sections. The biography, literary fiction, and YA sections always provide a book Im excited to read, The owner, Jessica, is very courteous. She strives to have a dynamic selection so there are always exciting new titles every time I shop at the store. She also plans to have some cool literature themed events. Absolutely worth the trip!

This store has such a great selection of books in a very concise collection. I havent always found what Ive been looking for when I visit but I always find something I want to read. The prices are also fantastic. We left from here the other day with around eight books for $46, both paper and hardback.My only gripe is the different sections in the back arent always clearly labeled. The genre will go from fantasy to sci-fi to thriller to horror with almost no indication. Again, thats the tiniest of gripes because youll notice when you stop seeing JRR Tolkien and start seeing Tom Clancy.Otherwise this is a fantastic store to hunt for a specific book or find a new favorite.Also, they may order books they dont have on hand, but I may have misunderstood the person working.

With a bohemian style and the warm comfort and cozy feeling one can only get from local independent bookstores, this shop is easily the best used bookstore in Peoria. Not only is the owner a warm and inviting personality, she has an extensive knowledge of all things books and poetry. A top notch inventory that includes an impressive nonfiction selection (something that can be hard to find in many used bookstores), a scifi/fantasy collection that would make any fan of the genre drool, and, my personal favorite, a literary section that can boast having plenty of both classics and modern classics. Of course we neednt forget the selections of poetry, and all the amazing titles from mystery, thriller, horror and everything in between- ALL in superb, clean condition. Also, be sure to check out, Lit. On Fire Used Books, on Facebook to find out about all the new titles that come in, and for updates on all the wonderful special events during each calendar month. Check this place out, you wont regret it, and youre sure to be a regular.

I ADORE this shop. Run like the corner bookstores you loved in the 90s. Wide selection. Very comfortable store with couches so you can browse comfortably. Competitively priced books. Standard turn-in/store credit type program. Books are of high enough quality that sometimes its hard to tell if youre in the new books section or actually have a used book. Jess the owner (and only employee) is super nice. Store is LGBTQ friendly even with a section of LGBTQ books. They host fun events every month from movie nights to open mic night to sleepins. So worth a visit.

My favorite used book store in town. I feel like the owner Jessica has weeded out all the filler books and saved only the best for the customers. She is friendly and an overall nice person. A must stop for any book lover.
