They had my daughters laptop 3 weeks for a simple virus scan. (2 weeks longer than they estimated when dropped off). Then had the nerve to charge $50 for the scan (which took less than 1/2 hour). This was on top of the $50 diagnostic fee (we never actually received a “diagnosis”). Never again.

I use Nerds on Call all the time. Theyre fast, they give accurate estimates and they dont do additional work without a phone call first. Best of all, theyre honest. There are times when theyll tell me the cost of the repair will be more than the machine is worth. That means a lot and thats why I keep going back. 🙂

Had my one year old PC almost a month. Cost 190 to troubleshoot and reload windows. Forgot to order part to read drive. Wanted more to repair touch screen than computer was new. When I got it back the cover was filthy and had minor scratches on it. Sent email to Mr Ford complaining and it went un answered.Go somewhere else

I just bought a laptop for 2/3s of what the company I work for was going to charge with my employee discount. I brought in the specs and theyre building it to suit my needs.

I needed an anti static bag to mail a GPU. Nerds On Call was literally the only place that helped me out. They were also the only people that knew what an anti static bag was when they answered the phone. Even when I called Geek Squad, the guy told me that he didnt know but they sold book bags... A lady at Fix My Gadget told me she didnt know, but she would put a request in the computer and have a professional call me. Anyways, they are really friendly, super helpful, and know their stuff!

Techs broke my pc and the solution was to allow them more time to fix the issue. Never fixed the issue and found later they had never properly reinstalled my harddrive causing me to have to buy a new one due to thier mess up shorting the harddrive.

They sold me a faulty battery 4 months ago and refused to make it right 2 separate times. Very poor customer service. Update: I got a phone call and a refund. So happy they contacted me and followed through.

Gave them a laptop which was having blue screen issues. Took their sweet time and then came back after a $50 diagnostic fee that the mother board of laptop was faulty and its basically a dead machine. Brought the laptop back home, it wasnt even screwed back properly, fixed it, installed Windows and its been running for last 3 days with out any issue. Highly unprofessional, as they deleted the partitions of hard drive and didnt even bother to recreate them. I gave them a faulty but still functional laptop and they returned a unbootable machine. Lucky I knew how to recover it, most people would just accept and throw their perfect machines in trash. I dont think they have any idea of what they are doing. Highly NOT RECOMMEND!

My computer would not access my home wireless. I took it here and they charged me $45 to tell me there was nothing wrong with it. I took it to Peoria IT and they fixed it while I waited in about 30 seconds and did not charge me!

I got my service done about 4 months ago, but it is crucial to not allow others to experience what I went through. In short, I have brought my Macbook Pro (2012 Non-retina) to this place 4 times, and each time, the computer has stopped working within 3 months of service. While I understand this is most likely a problem with the hardware on the computer and not the service, the last time I went to Nerds on Call, ensured I will never go back. Not only did they ruin my $50 case for my Macbook Pro by cracking it, making it unable to stay attached to the computer, they did not put a SINGLE screw back into the bottom of the computer. This means the back panel of the computer was not fastened. I understand missing a screw or two, or maybe a screw is a little loose, but when ALL the screws (about 12 of them) are missing from the case, it makes you wonder what kind of business this company is running. As it stands, my Macbook Pro is still not fixed, and I dont want to keep spending $300 every time their extremely limited warranty runs out. I would strongly advise taking your machines elsewhere.UPDATE: Took my Macbook Pro to a different place, they fixed my problem within 15 minutes and for under $30. They also informed me that the previous place (Nerds on Call) did not even screw in the hard-drive stands. Meaning my hard drive was free to move around inside the machine. Ridiculous.

Their mandatory diagnostic tests are 45 bucks unrefundable. This is even the case if they cannot fix your computer. How can you perform diagnostics if you cannot even get the computer to turn on. Shouldn’t you refund that $45? Bad business model
