We were looking for a good diner for brunch and we found it! Typical diner fare but much more than the typical quality. Pancakes were perfect, fluffy but not too thick. Home fries had good flavor. My son had the Belgian waffle and there wasnt even a crumb left.
We been frequent here, my Mom and I have been here in the past before the pandemic began and decided we could go again! We have been back a few times since and love it! The food is always good, hot and the people are wonderfully pleasant and kind! My 4 year old loves it too and we will ALWAYS be back at Superior as long as we are in NJ!
I eat out a lot but the attention I got today was more than 5 stars Alex is her name she is kind caring very attentively details and quick productive..I was watching my Netflix series and she bought me coffee and cream without me asking The good was on point also she walks looking at her tables to see what they need very professional! Good job on hiring her I hope she stays for long !
I havent had oatmeal from a restaurant that I truly enjoy but this place can make some oatmeal! Im almost convinced it had to be artificial because it tasted too good. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the waitress was especially nice.

What a great find! Was in Perth Amboy for a funeral and did a Google search to locate a diner and found this one. Had full delicious breakfast at amazingly cheap price! What also distinguishes this place is the staff. Got there early enough to enjoy the banter and conversations among the locals about nothing. Very Seinfeldish! If I were to be back in area, wouldn’t hesitate.
Always a great experience eating here. Portions are good size and atmosphere is old style. Always reminds me of when i was younger with my family eating there.

This is a traditional NJ diner with everything you could hope for. Not the newest or the fanciest, but one of the best burger patties I have had in a long time.

Good vibes. Food was good, if a little mixed up. The place was clean. Coffee okay. Supper fast food. Menus need updating. The menus have seen way to many spills. Suffers from East Coast main street parking.
GREAT food, outstanding service, friendly atmosphere.
Second visit today, food was as delicious as the first time. Staff is attentive and they keep the coffee in the cup hot! I will add that it is a pretty good cup of coffee, coming from someone who has a secret blend at home. If your in the area and hungry, give this place a try and I think you will be satisfied.

Okay food, but there shouldn’t be a table located next to the bathroom door. I had to eat my scrambled eggs while bathroom air blew into my face every time someone walked out from using the bathroom.
I truly feel bad for who ever is eating there right now me and my friends recently was there and ordered food “outside “ and I heard a African American lady complain that there was Bugs in her families food and then when we got our food we had bugs too and the couple next to us who came after us got there food faster because we waited 1 hour just to have BUGS IN OUR FOOD AND I FEEL BAD FOR THAT WOM EN AND HER FAMILY BECAUSE THEY ALL LAUGHED AT HER AND GAVE US A ATTITUDE KNOWING THERES A PANDEMIC, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT GO THERE THERES OTHER PLACES IN THIS TOWN LIKE NANDOS OR OTHER SPANISH RESTAURANTS ARE MORE CAREFUL AND SAFE IN THIS TOWN BUT NOT THIS SUPERIOR DINER PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FOR ME GO TO SPANISH RESTAURANTS THEY TREAT YOU LIKE A KING AND QUEEN WOULD BE TREATED BUT DONT GO TO THIS! We went to Superior Diner for lunch. We left jersey and moved to Florida. And always loved the food and service.
It may not look like much in the outside, but inside is a sparkly clean and friendly classic NJ diner.We aways get a good and tasty meal, whether its breakfast, burgers, or one of their daily soups. Weve tried all these and some of the dinner specials and we always get a good meal.

Superior Diner visit was my first time to eat at a local restaurant in the Perth Amboy area. Was welcomed and immediately seated. Our waitress Susan Sue was very patient and pleasing. We looked over the menu while not very busy it was very comfortable and inviting. After trying to decide on meals we ended up ordering...Corn beef and cabbage dinner with salad, soup and dessert.Florentine Omelet with spinach and feta.Corn beef hash with 2 eggs over-easy and home fries pan fried potato chunks2 griddle cakes scrambled cheese eggs and sausage linksIt was ALL absolutely delicious.I took photos of the new menu and posted them for others as Superior Diner does lack an online menu or website however what they lack for social media they make up in portion sizes, service and perfectly priced meals.Come hungry and leave with money in your wallet and a to go box for later.Tapioca pudding was absolutely delicious.My palette had a field day. Will definitely go back.

The food is excellent. Well prepared and not too greasy. The hours are more limited than many diners so be sure to check! Waitstaff is both friendly and helpful. My favorite are the pierogies. Would like more vegetarian options.
Honestly if they had a negative star that place would be one of them, I don’t want to say because of my racial that this incident happened but. I came in sat down back leaning against the wall, the owner came up to me and said that I couldn’t sit that way lol. Of course I wasn’t going to fix my posture because that didn’t make since to me. after that he called the cop because I didn’t want to sit the way that he wanted me to. All this happened less than 5 minutes.Customer services is everything but I don’t think that place know the meaning of that.
Good food a lot of space
This is one of the last remaining diners in Perth Amboy, established in 1947. Extensive menu as one should expect from a NJ diner. Good specials with fairly reasonable prices. Not open 24 hours. Parking is easy.
Ive been coming to this diner for 20 yrs,they did a good job in changing the decor. However if your looking for good service,try another diner.
I used to love this place but stop going here because when in there on day with my husband and we order the same thing every day that we go there and the owner brother told us that we couldnt change nothing on our order because we always get mashed not the home fries smfh and we have not been there like for 6 months already....

So I have been here three times and I can say that the bacon is great (but bacon is easy). So each time I have gone it has taken the waitress a long time to take our order and even longer to receive the food. The wait has never been worth it. If youre in the area go to the dunkin donuts next door for breakfast.

Breakfasts at the Superior Diner are always good in the Jersey diner way: eggs, meats, pancakes juice and coffee.The only downside is that there is always a big crowd on the weekend, so parking is a bit tight (parking expands next door) but the food and service remain good.
Vickie is a fabulous waitress! The food is typical diner fare. But youi can count on it being good! From eggs and potatoes to liver and onions. Youll never be disappointed.
This place is the best. Great cooks, great service. Today I went in and got breakfast and lunch to go. All of the to go containers werent styrofoam!! So happy to see that. And paper bags too. Food is phenomenal and consistent. See ya next Sunday!

Nice people and stuff
Been coming here since I was a kid.Breakfast is their busiest times. Various breakfast items from omelettes to French toast.Theyve changed the cooks over the years though. Now its a hit or miss type of thing. Food doesnt taste the same anymore, for example the pancakes tasted super dry the last two times I went. Lunch specials are good . They serve an entree with choice of salad or soup. Big portions are served though.
Only thing that I enjoyed was the nice waitress. Food was awful. 😳😧😕

First time visitor, very good Ranchero Wrap, Good Coffee and Potatoes.
Really didnt expect this kind of garbage to come out of this place.6 people in the place including me.$12 for a cup of coffee and a burned grill cheese that took 25 min to make because the waitress forgot to drop of the order.She took 4 steps from my table to the counter and already forgot she took an order!!! She asks me if I want coffee, I say yes, but she never brings it around. After I finish eating the burned sandwich she brings me the pickle that was supposed to go with the sandwich.And I dont eat that fast...And the sandwich itself, nothing like the description. Grilled swiss cheese with Ham, Bacon and Taylor ham.Yet there is only 2 burned pieces of bacon and two real thin slices of cheese. So thin, that after they melted, they didnt even cover the bacon. The hell are you charging $12 for???Im sure as hell not going back to this place.

Owner advertised chicken teriyaki for $14.95, including soup, salad, meal and cake. He was out of the cake, and wouldnt substitute for another cake (muffin, cheesecake) or charge less for the meal. The owner didnt care. He basically walked away while in conversation. I explained that my sister and I meet up here since I live in south Jersey, ex. 5 on the turnpike. He had no remorse. I will no longer come here. The waitress are so nice and accommodating, but he didnt care to lose the business.
