Very limited Diner menu. Our waitress was nice. After we ordered she told us the diner closed at 4 it was probably 3:20. My sisters omelette which was spinach, mushrooms, onions and cheese was very good. My brother-in-laws omelette which was just cheese looked skimpy. Maybe a 2 egg omelette? My husband Greek salad was made with iceberg lettuce, it was watery. The dressing was okay. My mozzarella sticks came out warm and the cheese was solid. I figured someone turned the deep fryer off because they were getting ready to close. Stacy gladly took them back and said they were making another order for me. They came out very good the next time. The coffee was excellent!
There was only one server but she handled the whole place with ease and was very pleasant.
Was hungry and in a rush to get to next appointment. The greeting was prompt, polite and ready to serve! Our poor scheduling was not a problem here and the waitress was called right over and our orders were taken right away - the turn around was super quick.Taste was AWESOME!!! The Kaiser roll was fresh, the egg was cooked perfectly, the bacon was crispy and the cheese was perfectly melted - and there was plenty of everything! The western omelet was also done perfectly - NOT dried out or overcooked! The peppers and onions were fresh. The Orange Juice was cold and fresh, too.Delicious meals, super quick and polite service make this hidden gem a great place to stop. I can see why the customers that were in there were clearly regulars. Good people, good food and good prices - I look forward to going back to Key City Diner for a dinner-oriented meal.
Parents came in from NYC for a visit. Mom loves diners so we went here.The server brings the food & were starting to eat... I end up spilling Pepsi ALL OVER my plate, myself & the table!The server came, moved us to another table, got me new food & was really cool about it.The food (I had the fried chicken wrap w/ bacon, lettuce & tomato) was delicious, portions are generous & the service is outstanding.Definitely recommend The Key City Diner!I dont know the servers name but thanks for all the help! Guess i need more help than I thought!

I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it was not like an original sandwich should be. However, the service was outstanding and friendly. And the rest of the food was delicious.
First and last!NO KIDS MENU! They charged me $9.99 for one pancake and 3 pieces of bacon for my son plus $3.99 for a chocolate milk. Basically we paid $14 just for a very small portion for a kid (-9yrs)!We had to call at the waiters to be able to have water, napkins and more coffee.I ordered a waffle with fruits, they sent just strawberries, which I returned, since they were soggy and even with some whipped cream on the bottom (looks like if they just took it from another plate)I never do this, but when you pay at least you expect to have some decent and fresh food, especially when you are paying more than all the others dinners around!
Place is OK. Food was mediocre at best... service was lacking and place isn’t the cleanest. A large coffee spill was on the floor right by our table. Waitress was not engaging and felt like she forgot about us.Found an eyelash on my plate. Luckily, they did NOT charge us extra for it.Food was NOT cheapFree parking with a decent size lot.
The Key City Diner has a great nostalgic feel with good service and good food. We ordered pizza burgers deluxe with disco fries (gravy and cheese over fries). The service was very good and we did not wait too long for our order. The three stars is mostly based on the pizza burgers and disco fries. The bread used on the burger was fresh and good. The cheese on the pizza burger was white American cheese and should be mozzarella. If the cheese was mozzarella it didn’t taste it. The meat in the burger was just ok - a bit thin and a bit over cooked. The cheese on the fries was also white American cheese which was very creamy with the gravy. Overall very nice diner, with good service and an ok burger.
Very OLD. Food can be better. If you dont care about eating in an old outdated place then eat here. The food is not all that great.
I placed an order that didnt get properly placed twice. Not once but two times.Cmon guys yall charge too much for just ok food to be messing up a no Brainerdsimple order...twice!!!Dont think Ill be eating here ever again.
I used to come here for breakfast on a regular basis before COVID-19 hit and the service and food was good. I returned recently and was very disappointed. We were sat down and totally forgotten, once we finally reached out to a waitress. We placed our order, drank our coffee and began waiting again, no coffee refill, no water and no food. Once we did receive our food, it was cold and inedible. Im not a picky eater but, it was just plain bad all around. Will not be returning anytime soon.
Was not a big fan of the food wish they could get their steak and eggs back thats what I really liked from there. Love the server we had she was pretty nice.
Me and my wife were there sataurday at 5:30 pm and we were the only 2 people in the diner which should have told me to get back in my car and go! The food was just so horrible and over price to add insult to it all! Will never ever stop there again. McDonalds which i hate bc its fast food i gotta say taste like a Gourmet meal in comparison!Never ever again!
A solid diner, a local institution. I dont know that it stands out anymore than a lot of diners in NJ, but that said, it also never disappoints. Youll find your standard diner grub, prepared well, and served by a friendly staff.

Very good. Had eggs with pancakes and bacon. The pancakes were very crisp and perfect. The bacon was perfect and crunchy and there was not one burnt spot. The eggs were nice and soft. 5 starts would eat again

Im an interstate traveler who has been stopping here because the staff are friendly, for years. I miss the old hostess who retired and the late hours, but its still a fun place to get a cheeseburger and fries or some chocolate chip pancakes.

I’ve been coming to KCD for over 10 years. I think the food is good. I order from there 2-3 times a week. I wanted to support them even when they raised their prices astronomically because I want to see them stay in business. As a local this place is a go-to spot for a lot of people in our community. The last straw for me is when I asked for jam and they charged me $2.59 for two packets.... I know it’s been hard with COVID but why do this to loyal customers? Today is the last time I order.

4 small chicken fingers (about 3 inches) with NO french fries almost $15.00 and in top of that the were burn with a low quality chicken. The service was great but fhe prices were a joke.

The best egg omelettes ever!!! We stopped in for a quick breakfast and they delivered us the most delious and very hot breakfast. Highly recommend the diner. Excellent place!!!

I was very happy with the service. The waitress made sure we had coffee in our cups. The food was good too. Cream chip beef and home fries. I will be going back there again when I want Cream chip beef.

I really did enjoy noth my food and the atmosphere/surroundings of the diner!! It was like a step back in time in more ways than one!! Not only because of the diner itself, but the prices, portions and friendly service from the staff all reminded me of going out to eat with mom and dad many years ago!! Ordered lunch on 8/24 was very surprised to pay over $31.00 for a chicken Cesar wrap and a garden salad ( basically a head of lettuce) with a few pieces of grilled chicken. Way overpriced. However, the saddest part was the upset stomach that ensued and continues as of this writing. What an incredible bout of diarrhea. Something definitely not right with that food or cleanliness of that place. I’m not one to complain, but the discomfort and nausea is overwhelming. I would definitely stay away from this place. Sorry.

Terrible. It’s LITERALLY HIGHWAY ROBBERY. 40$ (And some change) for me and my mom. I had a chicken parm Panini and CHARGED MY MOM 2 extra dollars for old bay seasoning in the fries! In actuality the fries should have come with the sandwich (I had a choice of SOUP ORRRR FRIES) (my mom was nice enough to pay for both because I have work today at 4pm and I do the night shift! So I needed that extra UMPH! we both had a cup of soup and two drinks! (I had refills-idk if they charge for refills) I REALLLLLLY DONT KNOW HOW THIS PLACE LASTED SO LONG!!!! My mom was right prices were high back then and they are high now!!!

I ordered take out from Key City Diner on July 5th 2020. The staff that took my order was polite informative and accommodated all our needs. The food was prepared FRESH and brought right to our vehicle. After arriving home our food was still piping hot. The home fries were fresh the scrabble was crispy and the Italian omelette was PERFECT!! Everything down to the rye toast is EXCELLENT! Phillipsburg staple. Will never stop ordering!!!5STARS
For dinner I had breakfast, which was good. My husband ordered a pork rib eye dinner, ended up getting instant mashed potatoes. Not what one would expect when paying for a decent dinner. Disappointed.
Decent diner food and as always the staff is very attentive.Im a local so I may be bias, but my husband and I make it a point to try a diner whenever we road trip it or Sunday drive and believe me there are some bad diners/wait staff out there.Id say 1 out of every 10 diners we eat at, are actually some portion of good.That being said, the fact that Key City Diner is consistently good...Who has time for a complicated analogy, Im full and tired.Food is good. Staff is good.5 stars for the above and consistency as I said previously.That is all.
I use to like to go to Key City Diner, but I will not be going back. Went there for breakfast and lost my appetite when I received the bill. It came out to almost $38.00 for two orders of short stack pancakes, two orders of eggs, two orders of bacon, an orange juice and two coffees. The breakfast was not that impressive. They need to rethink how much they are charging their customers or they are going to go out of business. Unfortunately, its a real shame, because everyone there are super nice. The only way Id go back is if they put the prices near to where they were before the Covid-19 pandemic.
My husband and I stopped by while traveling on our honeymoon. We loved the original 1950s look. The food was excellent. Best lasagna I have ever had! My husband loved that he would get gravy on his fires! If we are ever back in the area we would love to stop by again!

Was just looking for a short break on a long drive. Found very good food, good service, a quiet place to finish my book and relax. Comfortable booth and not too close to other patrons was just what l needed to recharge and get back on the road.

Great local establishment! Definitely the best diner in town! A retro-styled dined featuring friendly service and a wide variety of food options. I would highly recommend this place if anyone is driving by, and there is plenty of parking on the side for busier hours!
When calling, the hostess was very informative, explaining the whole procedure of curb side. I decided on a popular go to special from key city diner, the pene vodka with chicken. They went out of there way to make it with brown rice for me. When I came to pick up my order, it was such an easy transaction. Let me tell you I got a salad, my entrée, and a very nice size chocolate cheese cake for 18.99. What a steal! Thank you Key City for making my dinner better than ever. That cake was the cherry on my cake!
