Came only to get heavy duty thread for a project, and noticed a great deal for a limited time. JOANN FABRICS is great for arts and crafts, and especially sewing notions. I plan to take a beginners sewing class later this year or next year since I like what I see at this store and the staff is very nice. I only wish they had screen printing fabric and a few basic screen printing supplies.

I loved that I found discounted HAPPY PLANNER items, but the aisles looked like a tornado ran through each row. The restroom smelled like pee, but so did the whole store and the heat instore combined did not help. Although, it was not the best first time experience the cashier upfront made it a nice and welcoming ending to the trip. I would go back again, because of the HAPPY PLANNER section.

The employees that are there are always nice and willing to assist. It seems a bit understaffed for the amount of customers that tend to come through, and isnt the neatest location that Ive been to. All in all, as long as you dont mind a long wait for fabric or check out, its not a bad place to visit.

Plano Parkway store has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. I placed a big special order one day after a fabulous older lady helped me on the floor. When I placed the order, she was no longer there. Some other person reluctantly took the order....This lady who took the order was about as pleasant as a rattle snake. Acted as if I was putting her out the entire time she was keying in the items. Now it’s been two weeks. Week one, I called and couldn’t get anything more than “If you haven’t gotten a call, then it’s not here. And, no, i can’t check the status”. Called again this week and was put on hold by some girl, (while she went to ‘ask someone’). 16 minutes later lethargical, bitter young lady tells me I can come into the store for a refund or call customer service and give them my name and they could help me. Call the number she gave me and was told there is no way they can look me up by name and that the store who took the “special order” needed to call store support in order to help me. Called back a second time and asked to speak to the manager. Waited 12 minutes and manager finally picks up. I explained the situation to her and told her what customer service advised. She types in my name and says “maybe next week”. I’m a very pleasant person on the phone. I have never complained or acted ugly. It is not in my nature. I have a small business and was relying on this “special order”, so that I could complete a custom order. The manager offered no solutions, no explanation, made no phone call to store support and made no effort to resolve this situation. The store has received two shipments since I placed my order yet I cannot seem to get my order filled. If you are trying to run a business and need a supplier who cares about you, shop somewhere else. I will NEVER shop here again. I don’t see how this location is still in business.

Has a great variety of crafting supplies, and great ideas. The staff are very knowledgeable and patient.

They never have enough staff working in the front. I knew this going into my curbside order, but put the order in anyway. Sat outside for almost an hour, tried calling and was put on hold. Finally walked in (I held off because I wasnt anticipating having to get out of my car and be presentable to other humans...learning how to re-enter society I suppose) and found 1 employee in the front area running the registers. I cant be too harsh, its a Joanns, theyll probably have what youre looking for, youll just have to wait for it.

I go here all the time and the staff are very nice and helpful. Everything is generally stocked and clean. They actually helped me fix a problem from another Joanns that charged me the wrong amount for something I bought. Definitely recommend this place

Great but always slow to check out, regardless of the location. Staff are all living a slower paced life. Still, they are usually friendly and their slow response tends to be their dedication to helping each customers needs instead of multitasking and offering lower quality customer service... Just be prepared to wait for it :)

Joanns is great. They had the craft that my wife wanted. Michaels didnt which is why we were there. Joanns computer system seems to always mess up the application of coupons at the register. Our cashier didnt miss a beat when that happened and immediately started work to make it right.Our sewing machine, an old Singer that dates to the 1950s has been extremely cantankerous for years. My wife was finally fed up with it. I suggested she look at sewing machines while we were there. Kerrie at the Sewing Gallery inside Joanns was very helpful. She found exactly the machine that fit our needs (I also sew) instead of trying to upsell us on one with lots of extras that we didnt need. She was very knowledgeable and taught my wife how to work it before we left.

Second visit during the pandemic. Staff working today Saturday 3/6 is great. (Maybe they always are but I really appreciated their attentiveness today)

I was looking for black headliner material and the girl that I talked to said they were out of black, I asked if she knew when they were getting more and she said we may not be getting any more. I asked why that she didnt know?At this point I left the store.

I’d give 0 stars if I could! Don’t bother ordering curbside!!!! I sat outside for at least 20 mins. after I had already checked in to let the store know I was there. I had to walk in the store to pick up my order. They shouldn’t be offering curbside if they can’t actually do curbside.

Clean. Quiet. Help is friendly. Store seems fairly Organized. Parking was very easy.

Love that they offer curbside pickup! There are no marked spots like grocery stores, just at their front of the store curb. I have young children and its easier for me to order ahead instead of hunt inside with a toddler who likes to explore! LOL Also great digital coupons in their app!

Placed an online order. Called the store after a few hours. I could tell they were swamped. Asked about my order...and let me just say, the girls that assisted me were just the best! Happy and friendly even though it was a bit hectic in the store with the volume of customers. I was in and out in a jiffy thanks to their helpful can-do attitudes. Their service was better than any Halmark movie channel store clerk interactions. A++++

First time and its probably normal for regular shoppers, I was very impressed by the many quilt pattern choices.

Worst customer service ever!!! I traveled from Prosper to pick up an item that JoAnns didnt have in my area. The cashier was very rude, loud and lacked simple customer service skills. She was even rude the customer in front of me. I have never been treated with such disrespect from an employee!!! I shop at the Frisco and Mckinney location and they have such wonderful employees. I will never step foot into this location!!

I noticed prices have gone up tremendously! JoAnn is a large chain store, while most retailers are having great sales this establishment is doing the opposite, this is not a good sign, next time Ill check other options, perhaps Amazon!!

Always clean and nice to shop in. I have to say I was a bit surprised when the person at the cutting board refused to cut a very uneven end off the material saying it was against store policy to cut the material on that side.Thats so ridiculous.

If Hobby Lobby was McDonalds and Michaels was Burger King, I guess you could say Joanns would be Chick-fil-A? Nah, Joanns is Wendys, unequivocally. Same weird hours, same weird menu items, and the same obligatory patronage, primarily because its the closest one to you. Also like Wendys, Joanns generally has one or two menu items that are better than the competition, so you go and you deal with all the other collective weirdness. At any rate, theyre better than a simple MEH... MEH+ fits.

Love Joanns, they carry beautiful fabrics and all other items needed to make whatever youd like..be it crafting or clothing. They also carry other craft items, jewelry making, scrapbook, yarn.Right now order online, head to your store for pickup, call the store with your information once your there and they will bring your items to your car. Or you can go into the store and pick it up at the counter.

Horrible curbside pick up experience. I called 5 times- no one ever picked up even after I followed the prompts. Showed up per the email pickup instructions and essentially had to go inside to be told I should have called. Ironic instructions since no one answered and there were no designated pickup spots in the parking lot. Long line with no social distancing (why I wanted to do curbside in the first place). At first they told me I’d have to get in line to which I responded- to pickup a curbside order?! Then another guy who wasn’t checking people out asked for my name and handed me my bag. I’ve been a Joann customer for 20 years, but get it together Alma store. Otherwise, I will order from places who understand the customer experience of curbside pickup.

First time going to this location and I’ll never go back, the women in the fabric treated me very poorly and did not attempt to assist me at all.

It was ok. Difficult to get any customer service help & they failed to discount all my purchases, as they had signs posted everywhere with 40 % off and whoever rang me up cheated me of my savings.

Large store with very large selection. Would have given 5 stars but it was kind of difficult to shop and get through the narrow isles..things were in the floor too. But will definitely go back.

Since moving to Plano my Husband and I frequent this location often because we have a small business. But we have noticed that on many occasions we have been followed around the store by some of the employees that work there, not only that my husband has a liken for pipes so he made himself a pipe holder that goes onto his belt loop. Well he looks up and out the corner of his eye he sees a police officer coming down the aisle he didnt think anything of it because he had not done anything wrong. But he saw that the police officer was walking and looking at him. I guess after getting a close look at what someone that was a gun the police officer just shook his head and left the store. So evidently someone must had called the police on my husband thinking he had a gun. We only go here to this location if its an emergency because their customer service is not good. .

Kind of pricey but really nice fabrics so I guess they are worth the price

This location needs to change its store hours recorded for phone calls. It keeps saying 9am-9pm when they close at 8pm. I got inside about 8.15-8.20pm and the cashier was checking out two ladies and I was about to ask her where what I wanted was and she wasnt nice about they were closed even though the door was opened when I got there. I come to this location a lot. But tonights incident is making me have a rethink.

Great selection

Its a good little store from what I saw. Seemed very well stocked from my brief walk-through, though I wasnt being very attentive since I was on a mission. The people cutting fabric were nice and thorough, making sure they got the measurements correct and there was a really nice lady near the sewing machines who not only asked if we wanted help, but who I also saw helping instruct someone who was using one of the machines on display - and she was very sweet about it! Cashier was nice and personable and countinence which was very cool of her.Overall, a great little store. There werent an overabundance of people there, either, so if you have social anxiety, I suggest this place. 😊

I was looking for corduroy and buttons. I asked the woman in front if they had it and where it was. She said yes, but not too much and pointed to the right side of the store. #1) Most stores I frequent have more helpful staff who make sure you know where to go. #2) the store was poorly organized to help people find what they need using signage or space and groupings. I wandered around the fabric section and didnt see a sign for corduroy or any of that fabric. I went to the cutting desk and asked someone there. She gave me more specific direction, but I said Id been there and needed someone to show me. I waited for her to finish with a customer and followed her around the fabrics as she hunted for corduroy. She finally found ONE. It was half hidden by other fabrics and she said something about the season. The section did not have a name. While Im sure the door can accommodate many needs, they had very little for me, plus the lack of organization of the store and staff unhelpfulness combine so Ill look for someplace else next time.

There is a plethora of craft supplies and fabrics. Its amazing. The only down side is the terribly slow service. Every time Ive come to the store Ive had to wait at least 20 minutes to just check out. There is no sense of urgency from the staff and it was incredibly frustrating. I try to avoid coming to the store unless absolutely necessary

This is not a review for Joann and does not reflect the service I received, but for the Sewing Gallery, where you purchase the sewing machines. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had when trying to return an item that was not open, not used, and not past the return date. The lady--Marya Spuckler, proceeded to give me the third degree as to why I was returning the machine--I get asking why I want to return an item and making sure it was not past return date-- but her questions were extremely accusatory. My boyfriend had brought me a sewing machine as a gift and therefore I could not return his gift, however this is did not stop Marya from basically asking me why not return the sewing the machine he brought me. Then she steadily questioned me about the credit card I used to purchase the sewing machine, whether it was the correct one. I mean really?? Then she must have told me about three times that I would not have any points on the rewards card--I kindly gave her the rewards card back because I didnt need this hassle, nor would have used the card. I am not sure if they receive a commission or not, but no one should have to go through this type of questioning and rudeness to return an item. The other thing too was there was another woman who probably worked in the Sewing Gallery area as well, basically bashed the machine that my boyfriend purchased for me a Singer. She was going on and on about how bad those sewing machines were and if someone were to purchase a sewing machine for her that was not a Viking she would not take it. I would not shop in Sewing Gallery due to the nasty service I receive, I would say it was almost on the verge of being bullied/threaten to keep this sewing machine.Patrice

Very nice place for your craftsmanship needs, I wanted to upholster my dining chairs, and found everything I needed and more in Joanns. The main reason was Alex, a kind, friendly and very knowledgeable employee. Alex made sure I have everything I needed for my project and answered all my questions. I highly recommend this store.

Worst experience. Placed an order online and was told the pickup date would be a week later. The week later, received an email stating everything was out of stock and the order is canceled. They were general cake decorating items which clearly showed in stock when ordering. Nothing about the shopping experience was anything pleasant. To save the day, we were able to visit a Michaels and get everything without any fuss.

I went to Joann’s for a specific color thread that I ran out of during an embroidery project. I asked someone for help as I couldn’t find the same brand. She was so rude and kept repeating...ya it’s the same color. She cut me off and turned away in the middle of our conversation. I shouldn’t have believed her and should have asked more questions but unfortunately I didn’t. Now I’m home and I have two different color threads on this project. I’m very unhappy with how I was treated by the “thread lady” (short Greg hair and glasses) today.

Brought wife to pickup fabric to make masks for wearing outside for the pandemic. She donates some and sells some to be able to purchase more fabric and materials needed to make the masks. Joanns had everything she needed. Staff was great considering the pandemic situation.

Got some cool fabric to make face masks ! They are super clean and practice social distancing.( Dont forgot to grab a number when getting fabric cut)

I ordered plates, napkins and hand towels online. After 9 days of my order still not being shipped I emailed customer service to ask about my order. No response. Day 14 my entire order was cancelled due to being out of stock. I reordered as many items as were available through in-store pickup and then I placed 2 different online orders to try and avoid my entire order being cancelled again. After placing my pick up order I realized that this store is not actually open and is only doing pickup. I tried to call the store several times to see how long my order will take and the phone is off the hook. I still have not recieved any response from customer service and I hope my online orders are not cancelled after 2 weeks again. If the store wasnt falsely advertising being open I wouldnt have placed the pick up order and would have found something else. Well see if I ever get my things....Edit: 5 days of waiting later my pickup order from this store has been cancelled and they still are not answering the phoneEdit: I have contacted customer service 4 times in the past month and a half. 3 times requesting a refund for shipping with no answer and finally once just complaining that I have not been answered by customer service on a complaint. I immediately recieved a generic copy paste answer saying we are sorry for the long wait for customer service, we are sorry that the service you received wasnt good, we value your feedback and we tell managers about complaints. We appreciate your business...etc. After a month and a half and still no response to my original complaint I have decided I just will never get my money back and that I have been scammed by Joann Fabrics.

Such a great shop for making projects

I love the selection of fabrics and notions at this store, but they cant manage the line at the cutting table. There were only two employees cutting fabric (slowly). When I got there I pulled a number...60... They were on 42. An hour later I had my fabric cut. Thats unacceptable. This was the Saturday before Labor Day, big sale, people staring to sew for the upcoming holidays. Its not rocket science... Staff your store for the crowd you know youre going to have. Train your employees to cut faster. And if the number you call isnt at the table, call it over the PA, and CUT THE NEXT NUMBER WHILE YOURE WAITING!

This Joann’s is always nice and clean. The parking lot is a little odd to get into if you’ve never been here before; it’s not in the front of a plaza. The lighting inside could be brighter; sometimes it’s hard to determine the true color of things. Other than that, the staff is very nice and helpful, and I enjoy coming here!

Things are looking up I guess. The store was packed. Long lines at both the cutting table and the register. But they were moving. I was disappointed not finding any kiddy patterns to make some fun child sized masks. Guess Ill check back later.
