A friend referred me to Car Toys for an audio upgrade. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and someone was able to help me within 5 minutes. Frank helped me and explained and showed everything to me in detail so I understood what I was buying. He didnt oversell me, he listened to what I wanted from beginning to the end of the transaction. Car Toys advertised this out of the box radio at its original price for a new one but also included the camera. On last Saturday, 04/17/21 the Caucasian salesperson decided to charge me close to $600 with the kit (which was a higher price to install than a more expensive car radio). I saw the deceptive pricing and decided not to purchase... On today, I returned and talked with a different salesperson who decided not to include the backup camera for free although that is what was advertised. I have decided that I will never do business here. You may fool other customers, and practice bait and switch, and swindle monies from them but it will not be me. How can customers trust this company?

Earlier today I went into car toys to speak with someone about installing Apple CarPlay to my car. Mr. Reginald was an absolute pleasure to speak and he did everything he could to get me the best deal possible. He was very informative and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

I came in for an insurance windshield repair. I had a roughly star shaped crack in my windshield that was about the size of a quarter. I expected the star to be gone. They only covered up the crack, and the crack is still very visible in the windshield. When I asked about it, they made it clear that it was the best they could do.

Holy Cow!! They are the best! I have been trying to figure out a problem with my Subaru and the whole time it was bad wiring from the place that put in my original Kenwood System. They figured out the problem put in my new system and detailed the car. If you are thinking about upgrading your system do it with these guys!!

Cant say enough about Jock and his team at the Plano store. My wife had a 2017 Jeep that they did an amazing job on. We did our previous installs at Earmark, but Car Toys was more our speed. Mike built a Custom box that matched the jeep and you couldnt have a happier girl than my wife. Roll forward two years and now my daughter has that boom box as her first car and Jock and Mike went over the top on the new sound in my wifes new jeep! We purchased a new radio to install; waiting to purchase the amplifier and speakers till later after we verify we purchased the correct radio. We got home and started the install and noticed that we had additional wires that were not present on our car (classic 1996 BMW). We called to ask about it and were told that the store did not answer questions and that they could charge us $75 for the information. Not good customer service. Weve never run into this before and will probably not purchase the speakers or amplifier.

The employees were nice enough. the reason for the low review is because I call and asked for an appointment to have a stereo installed and drove 30 mins to get there. once i arrived and picked out the equipment i get told they cant do the install until 3 days later.

I was referred to the Cartoys in Plano from the Cartoys Lewisville location based on product availability. I upgraded the car stereo in my vehicle and received great service from Jock(Store Manager) and Joey(installation technician). They assessed my situation and provided an equipment recommendation. I am extremely happy with the quality level of service and installation I received. If you need any car accessories for your vehicle, I would HIGHLY recommend this location. As a matter of fact, I am now looking at upgrading my speakers and adding an amplifier.

We brought in our older model Chevy Van at the end of December 2020.It has no windows, so we were wanting a Backup Camera. While the guys were at it, we got an upgrade for the Music System, too.We were helped immediately by Tino. He was great at explaining the various options we needed to make decisions on. He walked us through the whole process and answered every question we had.Next, Frank took over the installation. He and some of the other guys got right to it. They did their very best at reworking new technology to fit an old vehicle. Then, he spent quite a bit of time showing us how things worked.We were very impressed with all the help we received and the patient manner in which we received it. We definitely recommend the store and the staff.

I took my car here for a interior detailing and I had all types of stains and dog hair on my back seat. These guys did a fantastic job at getting it cleaned within a few hours. My car is perfectly clean and smells great just like a new car. I wish I had taken my car there sooner. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for detailing service.

I honestly feel like Google should give the option to leave a Zero Star review because my experience at this location does not deserve this 1 star. I visited this location on April the 2nd of this year to purchase a stereo system with backup camera for my sons 18th birthday. They did not have the items I wanted in stock so everything needed to be ordered, which was understandable, I went ahead and paid for everything as shown on my receipt. (Picture included) After a week or so I hadn’t received a call regarding my order so I called and asked if my items arrived, I was told they were there. That in itself was a little irritating, I prepaid almost $1000 I would think they would have called me but I guess not. I send my wife to pick the items up since I was at work, according to her there seem to be a little confusion with finding my order in their system as if my receipt wasn’t enough but I guess they figured it out and my wife received the items. Fast forward a week, I go to my audio mechanic to install the stereo and backup camera just to discover the sold me a USED radio!!! The radio alone was $800 and they have the audacity to box up a used radio and sell it as new. There was no plastic around the actual radio there were finger prints all on the screen and there was wiring and other items were missing for installation!!! I called this location rightfully upset, to let them know and the guy seemed so nonchalant and unbothered. He told me I could go to another location (the Corinth location I believe) to swap out the radio for a new one. The only saving grace with this HORRIBLE experience is the Corinth location they took accountability when this Plano location would not, the Corinth manager did what the Plano location could not provide me with a new radio which is what I should have received from the beginning especially since I paid for a new radio. I expected better, deserved better and would like for my experience to bring better customer service training to this location. I would like to hear from the store/regional manager if possible.

Jock is the manager and has the best customer service. He is super knowledgeable and honest. I truly appreciate him. He is first class and greatly appreciate his help and assistance. Go see Jock for a anything for your car you-he will take care of you. 5 stars plus plus!!

They lied that my sub woofers were busted just to try and sell me some over price 10” woofers for $630.00 for two 10” woofers the problem was the guy who install them had the wires cross, lied that they shampoo inside of car, I t’s a work place full on con-artist would never go back

I called before the drop off to confirm services and give a bit of details of what we were requesting for the vehicle. It’s an antique...1988 Jeep Wagoneer, so we wanted to be sure we found a spot that would take good care of it. Spoke with a gentleman named Jock. He was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant from the jump. We dropped the car off the following day for a new bluetooth stereo and security alarm which included w/auto start! Jock kept me updated the entire time and helped minimize my overall costs. I’m very pleased w/the work at this location and will be back for any future add-ons! 😊

I had reached out to other car toys In the area, and I gave them a call and they were able to get me in and completed in the day! Jock had EXCELLENT customer service and it was my best experience at any car toys.

Ive done business with this store on at least two occasions and both experiences were handled exceptionally well. The last transaction with them occurred in June 2020. The original device and installation was completed professionally and reasonably timely; however, after trying several times to get the device to work properly it didnt work as expected. I discussed the issue with the store manager, Jock, and he worked with me to correct the problem. Without going into more detail I could not have expected any better treatment than what I received from Jock and his team. My thanks and appreciation for the way this was handled was beyond exceptional. I will be sure to see Jock and Car Toys for any future needs.

Have bought plenty of stuff at Car Toys in Louisville before and it was a good experience. This time at a different store and not so much. Walked around in the rooms for 15-20 minutes before I was even acknowledged. I then showed the sales guy a picture of what I wanted from their website that was priced at $549. He rang it up and told me the total was $760. Really ?!?!He said it was higher for warranty added. Told him I didnt want any extra warranty and the price dropped to $650. Still $50 more than website after tax. Showed him the picture again and he told me he couldnt sell it to me for that. I called customer service and they told me it has never been $549 but if I sent in the picture I took of website he would look into it. I emailed it to him and never heard another word.What a total waste of my time.

Terrible, terrible, terrible....On July 13th I visited this Car Toys. We lost the key fobs (remote unlock and alarm system key fob). They said they would charge a diagnostic fee of ~$50 to see if their key fobs were compatible. Great news, after about 30 minutes they said they were, BUT they dont stock them and it would be 3 days - 1 week (1 week because of the virus and the warehouse was backed up where they are shipped from). I paid for the key fobs, for the labor to do the installation, and the diagnostic fee. $150.99. Funny how you have to pay up front for labor for future work. Shady in my opinion.1 week became 22 weeks became 3.At 3 1/2 weeks they got them in. And I had to wait a few days for an opening in their appointment book. At exactly 4 weeks, went in.Guess what, the key fobs are not compatible and they said, we can sell you a new system. He told me I would have to pay hundreds more. When I protested, he said it wasnt him that messed up and he would work with me, but I still have to pay hundreds. I said you are a representative of the company and it is your fault. But all he was concerned about was passing the blame.What type of company makes you pay upfront for labor they havent done. What company that says 3 days to 1 week and it takes 3 1/2 weeks. What company then due to their fault about compatibility says sorry and give us more money.Then to top it off, I asked for his name and he wouldnt give it to me. I had to ask the technician for the reps name. The one time you look for a name tag, but I guess he doesnt wear it for some reason.I will avoid them and tell everyone I know about how poor of customer service was.

I purchased a Kenwood sound system from Jock at Car Toys about 4 months ago. I had issues with the radio and Jock kept in contact with me to follow up to see if the issues were resolved. Jock and the entire staff were great to work with, have a great expertise in vehicle audio, are professional and personal. Jock lead the team and I will be going back to get more product for the other vehicles.

I was quoted $175 over the phone. I had explained which system I had and wanted installed. I went there fully expecting to pay $200. I arrived there and was suddenly quoted over $400. They are very misleading with their quotes.

Frank and the staff are friendly, service oriented and answered my questions thoroughly. The installation of my remote start system was completed quickly.

Jock and his team did an amazing job fixing the whine coming from my stereo. We were never sure if it was the parts that Car Toys put in or the head unit I got somewhere else. Jock let me bring it back a couple of times until he got it fixed. They spent hours on it and never charged me a penny. Phenomenal service!

I purchased a JVC KW M56bt head unit with Alpine speakers model S-S65c for the front and S-S65 for the back. These were installed in my 2009 Chevy Silverado 3500HD. This combination of radio and speakers were an excellent choice for the sound quality and multiple combinations of sound variations it can produce. This combination doesnt require subwoofer. Good tight bass and crisp highs with plenty of power. This radio handles nearly all music formats. Bluetooth is excellent for A/V or cell phone use. This radio allows for dual camera use. Car Toys in Plano, Jock the Manager, is very knowledgeable on the equipment they sale for any almost any budget you need help with. The installation dept is excellent if you need them for help to install your system or for information for knowledgeable DIYers. FYI my daughter did the install.

They installed a display on my vehicle for much cheaper than the dealership. I bought the part from eBay, took part to them to see in the morning, schedule it to have it done in the afternoon, then had it done in 45 minutes that day. They were professional and the display works great now.

Let me start with Joey! Just wow!! This technician is amazing at what he does enough said. I will tell any who asks and some people who don’t ask where I got my modifications done. I had issues with my car radio for my 2016 Honda CR-V EXL and had to get it replaced. The Honda dealership wanted to charge me $3600 to replace it with the original radio so I said heck no to that.I was referred to this location and had a great experience overall. Jock is an awesome guy to work with and he helped me as best as possible when it came to pricing. Him and his team were able to get me in pretty quickly and keep all my car features like I had before but with a much better radio now. In the end it was about $1100 which was expected but still way better than $3600.The seem to offer a bunch or cool things you can do with you car. The next project I do with my car I’ll be sure to call Jock and his boys!

We went in to get a replacement part for something and they charged my card immediately and started to get to work.Sadly the part didn’t fix the issue so they refunded the entire charge on my card, they didn’t even charge me for the labor they did for the 45 minutes I was there.It is this type of customer service that keeps people loyal, i wish more places did it. We were originally scheduled for McKinney store but when we arrived, they were temporarily closed (they had not notified us, and my daughter drove in from Lubbock for this appt). Called the Plano store and they were SO wonderful and helpful! Plano CarToys was able to get us in the same day and install car alarm. SO APPRECIATE Jock and the team at Car Toys, Plano! Highly recommend.

Car Toys in Plano was great with the installation of hardwiring my dash cam.I went to two different Car Toys that were closer to where I live to request the installation before going to Plano:The first one in Rockwall, when I called, the gentleman who answered the phone was a bit rushed. After being on the phone for 15 seconds, he said, “I would love to answer your questions but I have four people in line staring at me.” So I drove up there and they were not able to see me for that day. So, I left to go to the next closest location, Mesquite.When I went to Mesquite, the guys there could see me that day, but they doubled in installation price to $180. I mentioned about Rockwall being $90, and they said, well, you can go back to Rockwall because this is our price. They also proceeded to say that Rockwall was cheaper because they’re connecting the dash cam in a “shortcut” kind of way by connecting the end to behind the cigarette lighter rather than to the ignition. After that comment, I left.Then I called Plano, and spoke to a gentleman named, Jacque. Jacque said he could see me the same day, but he couldn’t give a price without the installer taking a look at the dash cam and to see where the other end would terminate. I drove up there and met Jacque and the installer. Worked out the details. And WHAM! BAM! the installation was done within 30 minutes and cost $90. Because of the high level of respect and honesty that Jacque provided his staff and customers in the store and on the phone, I will continue to visit that location - even though the Rockwall and Mesquite locations are much closer.I believe that the Plano location is a good role model for at least Rockwall and Mesquite to follow.

I’ve done a lot of business at this location going back 15 yrs ago. My last 2 visits (sep and aug/2020 )The front salesmen Don’t know anything about the products and just want to sell the highest priced items or say “ they will do that” when in the end nothing is included . Installers do a good job but wish there were more experienced salesman upfront on the floor to fit your needs instead of worrying about the commission they make on the ticket.

I encountered such a business recently; Car Toys at 2801 N Central Expwy, Plano, TX 75075.What I really encountered were two men that took pride in their work, and in delivering outstanding customer service. Jock Smith and Jason Singer are those two men. Jock, the assistant manager went above and beyond by providing me with a ride back to my job after I dropped off my truck, and then picked me up from my job once the repairs on my truck were finished. Jason, the installer did an excellent job making the necessary modifications to my vehicle, and took the additional time to explain how the equipment worked.Both men exhibited an unusual commitment and dedication in taking of their customer. I would highly recommend shopping here, and definitely recommend asking for Jock and Jason to assist you.Customer service goes a long way these days, and sets you apart from your competitors in a price-dominated marketplace. These two men are most assuredly miles apart from the contemporaries.

I took my 2004 Honda Accord there for help as my radio was not working. I called 1st spoke to Jock & he really listened & when I arrived he immediately remembered everything I said~they were able to diagnose my radio issue & Joey came out explained it all to me and they were able to install a new radio that is awesome ! My 2007 Chevy Silverados stereo has seen better days. I decided to head up to Car Toys in Plano. I parked my truck and before I even got into the store, I was greeted by Christopher who was helping another customer outside. He got into my truck to listen to stereo to diagnose issues. He spotted Alan walking by and pulled him into conversation as well. Alan is the installation technicians there. They diagnosed my stereo and speaker issues there before I even set first step into the store.Chris helped by thought the stereo and speaker selection process getting me a great deal for my music listening tastes. Alpine Stereo with Apple Play and all the updated Apps. Purchased the system and came back later that day to drop off the truck.Had to come back because I was having a reception issue with AM and fuzziness on FM stations. Chris came out and spent 45 minutes trying to figure out issues and help set up the system to optimum performance. He is passionate about the music experience. He turned the truck over to Alan again who found the root cause which was a simple fix... (for Alan!!)I would definitely recommend this particular Car Toys location. Everyone I interacted with was passionate about music and making sure that you got the best possible system for your needs and making sure that you understood how to manage it.

Poor customer service. Went in there and asked if somebody can look at my car speakers (distortion). Was told to wait outside. Waited some inside and 20 mins outside, then left. Note there wasnt a single customer when I went inside

I finally decided to update an 18 year old stereo system in my truck. There were several unforeseen issues with the existing wiring that the technician diagnosed and fixed correctly. Outstanding service, as they really know how to solve obscure issues like mine. The sales pricing was just the icing on the cake. Highly recommended!

Great place to go for any installs took car of my wife and my vehicle was in and out in an hour to an hour and a half install was quality and works great i recommend dj as a sales person as he is very knowledgeable! Thanks guys!
