I have been there 6 times in 2021 to sharpen various groups of knives. He is fast, and efficient, and has very reasonable prices. the quality of the edge he gives your knives is superb, as good as it gets. The shop has a great many knives that he carries for sale too, as well as other related products such as cases, knife sharpeners, etc.I do recommend Cutlery Collection at the top level!!
I had called Carl ahead of time for a spring for scissors on a vintage Swiss army knife. He was able to find a spring, install it, and all at a minimal cost.I highly recommend that store.
I appreciate the balls it takes to tell a customer to “blow it out your ass”Definitely a customer for life now 😂
Always great prices and value, very high-quality items. We love getting our high end scissors and knives sharpened here. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and great at making recommendations based on needs. Long-time customer, lifetime customer!
We can here because this place was recommended by a sales associate from Williams Sonoma. We took our Shun knives here to be sharpened. They were ready the same day and looked as if they were brand new. He even fixed the tip of the knife that was broken off (from our fault, not due to the quality of the knife). The knives were as sharp as they say we bought them.I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to support a local business that does a fantastic job.
For knife guys and gals this is a great shop. He knows his stuff and products range from reputable manufacturers to custom makers. Great service, too.
Carl is great! knives so sharp i could do surgery with them. my dull knives are like new! very reasonable prices. great guy! thank you for your service!
I’m super stoked that I can find wet shaving supplies locally now!
Great selection of quality knives. The owner is very friendly and knowledge. They offer a knife sharpening service. From hunting to cooking, and everything in between, theyve got you covered. The pricing is reasonable for the quality of product they carry. I like to shop locally at stored like this and keep the money with small businesses.
I had a great experience with the gentleman! We texted and met, I dropped off my knives, and came later to pick them up. He answered all of my questions and the knives came out really well!
Im a pretty knowledgeable knife owner and have owned and collected knives for many years. On two different occasions I have brought my pocket knives here to be sharpened. At those times I did not have access to my own sharpening equipment. On both occasions after these gentlemen sharpened my knives. They were given back to me a little sharper, but not to what I would call a sharp knife. They wouldnt cut paper. When I complained about the fact that I did not consider them sharp. I was ridiculed about my knowledge of knives and told that I did not know what sharp means. In fact, they left a burr on one side of both knives which I later worked out with a stone to really sharpen my knives. If youre a knife guy, you know what Im talking about. DO NOT bring your expensive Japanese Knifes or any other expensive knife here!!! They will ruin them for you on their grinder. Expensive knife blades are stone sharpened by hand and you will pay the higher price for sharpening them. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cant fool all of the people all the time. This place not recommended
Had knives sharpened here, while set of good knives. They sharpened the serrated knife and 100% ruined the knife. Asked why they did this and they said it was normal. It is a bread knife that cannot cut.Wont go back here.
Sharpening prices are cheap and they have gorgeous knives. They can set a factory equivalent edge with no polish and theyll leave a significant burr youll have to take off. One blade was just fine, it only needs to be deburred. The other they put a larger angle edge than requested and left a few chips in the edge small enough to remove in a few passes on a stone. The people in the shop are fairly demeaning, old school, and arrogant. Great for your grandpa, not so great for hobbyists.
We have been doing business with Cutlery Collection for years. These guys are great! Highly Recommend.
Ive been purchasing knives from Karl at the Cutlery Connection for many years. Top notch retailer, really knows his product and the industry and has great stories if you ask him.He is never pushy in his sales; he takes the approach of explaining the products and letting you decide whats best. His products are superb, and nobody can sharpen a knife or scissors like Karl.Strong recommend for him and his store.
Best quality knives sold here. And sharpening service is BEST.
We have done business with Karl for many years and highly recommend him for any of his services and products. He is best sharpener we have found in 40+ years of having our knives professionally sharpened!
They did an excellent job sharpening my knives. They even oiled the blades that arent stainless. I couldnt be happier with the results and the quick turn around. I will definitely be back when I need more sharpened.
If I could give it zero I would the owner was sitting down talking to his friend for 10 minutes meanwhile I am standing there waiting to be served I simply asked him a question about a knife it was way over priced it was a tiny spiderco they sell on bladehq for 25 dollars and he was selling it for 59 dollars we also were wondering if he could sharpen a benchmade bugout and we asked If he sharped s30v steel and his was rude about it and was sarcastic. Dont go here save your money and shop on bladehq or a real knife shop also fake knifes were all around and no certification what so ever.
These guys are great. We have been going to them for years!!!
Very knowledgeable, wide variety and selection at great prices. You cant ask for much more than that. plus you can get your knife sharpened!!!
Simply the best in DFW. VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND VERY FRIENDLY!!Would not go anywhere else!
This place is awesome. It has good brands too.
Great service, friendly, convenient and I saw a Black Rifle Coffee mug. 🇺🇸💪🏻
Drove from Wylie to the shop in Plano to get my Benchmade sharpened. It just so happened they are having a knife show today (7/21). I was told by the clerk they won’t sharpen knives today and would have it done on Monday. I told him I use my knife every day and need it for tomorrow. In not so many words he told me tough luck.I checked the website last night before driving over here today and there was NO MENTION of not offering knife sharpening during the event. If you’re going to withhold certain services on a certain day, it would probably be a good idea to inform your potential customers and update your website.Needless to say I’m not very happy about the experience.
Ive had a shun santoku chefs knife for several years. Each year I take it to Williams Sonoma and a few days to a week later, I get it back, sharper and ready for another year of use. This year I happened to be in Texas and the Williams Sonoma couldnt sharpen Japanese knives yet, so they referred me to Cutlery Collection and said that honestly, even when they get that capability back, hes still better. Went to him and one hour (!!!) and $3.25 (!!!) later, my knife was good as new. The nick in the tip was even smoothed out. I LOVE this guy. Five stars. He rocks.
Great shop good service
WARNING DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR KNIFE HEREThey will ruin your knife
I brought in a Bark River Bravo 1 with a convex grind on it. I asked that he please put the same grind on it. Guess what happen, not only did he not but he also took so much meat off my knife its not funny. He put a generic grind on a $200 knife. I was very so upset I left and didnt embarrass him in front of his customers. 1yr later Im at this mall again. Bring in my Benchmade Griptilian. No edge, not sharp. After confronting him, he just says ah whatever. I left money on the counter and will never return. If you have just a cheapie pocket knife. Let him sharpen it for $5 bucks. Anything with either a nice Hollow, convex, sabre or flat grind I wouldnt trust him.
Will never go back again. Store owner is rude and unhelpful. Also changes prices when asked and gets angry when you call him out on it.
If you need a gift for a man in your life go check out Cutlery Collection. Also they can sharpen your kitchen knives!
They never answer phone. Been trying for days
Awesome! He does a great job sharpening pocket knives, scissors and kitchen cutlery and its very affordable too! 10 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
