My garage door pin pad was not working and I reached out to A1 for some assistance. To my surprise they were able to send Erik (Garage Door Tech) same day to help fix the issue. Erik was extremely thorough and fixed the pin pad. I also ended up purchasing another clicker for my car. I will definitely reach out to them once I am ready to replace my garage door motor as it is almost 20 years old.

Total rip off artists. Stay away from these price gouges.Terrible customer service too. Don’t waste time and money with this poor excuse of a company.

Consumer beware. This company picks and chooses the type of work they will do and are extremely over priced. The technician showed up today & I knew what the problem was already. I need a wire soldered on the motherboard that came undone. He did not want to solder it but offered to send to Lift Master for a warranty. He called Kevin the owner & Kevin told his tech that he was not interested in repairing or warranting the motherboard. His option was to replace for $1000 and he said this was a deal price (normally $1,300). The excuse he used was that he didnt install it and Lift Master would not deal with him because his company did not install it. This is not true. I called another company & they are coming to send the board off for warranty today. If Lift Master happens to not warranty the board the new company I called are going to install a new motherboard for $400 less than A1 Affordable. I would call anyone else before I call this company. They are obviously shady and very over priced. I did offer to pay labor to A1 so I was not expecting to pay nothing for the warranty. I let Kevin know I was going to leave him a review & his last words were to me were your an a$$hole. The A1 tech that was here said that if this was his company he would send it off & didnt understand why Kevin would not do so. I have hired this company in the past & that was not without issue but nothing like this. No customer service here & dishonest company. I hate giving them 1 star. Lift Master needs to know about this company.

Tech showed up more than 30 minutes of quoted window (+) however, he didnt call ahead(-). He worked super fast and had garage fixed and work area cleaned up in about 20-30 mins(+). He also practiced Covid safety (wore a mask and maintained 6ft distance). The price was a little high but this was a last minute problem and they showed up same day within 2 hours of me calling.

I added insulation to my garage door and noticed it seemed to be dragging a little. I contacted A1 to ask if there was something I should do with my garage door opener. Coincidentally, I purchased a new door opener on sale at a big box store in 2019 because my opener was almost 20 years old. A1 installed that as well and was both quick and efficient with that project getting me a tech the same day I called. Back to the added insulation...they suggested a spring adjustment and a check of the opener. I scheduled an appointment and the techs were not happy with my insulation selection. I TOTALLY understand why. With all of it installed it is pretty heavy. They adjusted the springs checked the opener and made a small adjustment and they were done and gone. This is at least the 3rd time I used them and I had them do some work for my dad several years ago. They will very likely NOT be the cheapest option if you get some estimates for work. However, you get what you pay for and with A1 you will only call them once because they get the job done...period! I know they would stand behind any work they do, but I’ve never had to test that theory because their work has never failed. If you want the job done right call A1. If you want the job done cheap call someone else...then call A1 when the first job fails.

Stu was awesome! On time. Professional. Informative. I was anxious about my situation and now A-1 has me kicking myself for procrastinating! More than fair deal for the value of the experience.

We came home one day and the spring on our 16 foot garage door was broken--the door wouldnt go up or down. I called Kris at A1 Affordable Garage Door and she was more than accommodating. They had someone come out the next day and put in a new spring. Highly recommended, friendly staff and service tech guys.

We had the same issue many searching for a garage door repair company have. Door wouldnt open and needed to get a new spring. We went ahead and went all in and got a whole new garage door (insulated - worth it BTW) and couldnt be happier! The new door and rollers are so quiet when it goes up and down and the insulated door keeps inside the garage at a comfortable temperature even during these brutal Texas summers. Their team got here quick, the price was in line with what had seen and they did a great job! Very happy!

I called them to troubleshoot the damage caused to my gate opener after the last storm came through. They charged me $200 to reset my gfci and didn’t check to see what actually may have caused it from tripping. Then when it rained again, to no surprise, my gate went out again and they wanted another $100 to come back to take another look. $200 for under 5 minutes of work without fixing or even looking into the problem is not acceptable. Now they are wanting me to spend $5k to get a new system but won’t tell me how much is parts vs labor. At least they were responsive and came out quickly so they get one star, otherwise, I’d figure out how to give them zero stars.

We had a spring break on our Door. Had them out to replace the springs. I was talked into the more expensive springs with many more open/close cycles then the normal springs. Tried to get more data on the springs after the job was done but could never get that information. Felt like I was lied to since no one would get me the information on the spring they used. Now I have their sticker on my door to remind me not to use them next time. Date of service was 11-26-2016. Mark was the Tech who charged me $500+ for new springs. Who makes the springs that you use?EDIT: After reading the response I still feel like I got fleeced. .I make sure to tell everyone about my experience. You had a chance to prove some honesty and you failed.

While it has been a few years since I used A1, i was very pleased with their service and it was done at a fair price. ( They replaced the garage door track rollers that were worn out) . I have not had a problem since.
