Every time I come, the door is closed. Closed at 5pm on weekdays. There is a back to 4 oclock note. 40min wait. Nobody.Closed at 6:30 on another weekday. This is 3rd times.
If you don’t want to be talked down to, wouldn’t recommend this store. I called about a month ago to see about getting my tenor ukulele restrung, which has two metal-wound strings and two regular strings. Given the fact that I had a bad experience at guitar center with not being taken seriously, I figured I would try a local music store instead. I faced the same problem when I called this store, as the employee on the line proceeded to inform me that metal strings would “ruin my ukulele”. When I told him that this is how my ukulele came when I purchased it from a very reputable company in Hawaii (theukulelesite.com, subtle plug for my favorite ukulele shop which has excellent ukuleles and customer service), this employee assured me that I must have been scammed into purchasing a “souvenir” ukulele or that having a ukulele with metal-wound strings must be a niche thing. He proceeded to mansplain this to me for a solid 5 minutes, explaining that the metal strings would ruin the fretboard and would snap the neck. (By the way bud, I’ve had this tenor and a baritone uke that’s strung the same way for several years now with zero fretboard damage and no neck-snapping). Once he was done with his condescending rant, I politely thanked him for his advice but informed him I would just find the strings myself and take it elsewhere to be tuned. Ended up calling the lovely folks at the ukulele site who found the exact strings my ukulele came with, and I took it to Nadine’s Music Manor to get it tuned, where I had great customer service and no condescending employees talk down to me.
DO NOT take your instrument here to be repaired. And if you do, do not leave it. I took a rare violin here to have one if the pegs fixed as it was slipping. They looked at it saying I would have to leave it. A week later I had not heard from them so I called to check on it & they told me they had misplaced it. I am completely unsure how something like this could happen. Since it was rare, I should not have left it I suppose, although at that time in my life I was very trusting. This happened years ago & they still have yet to locate it. No money was offered for replacement. I can not tell you the emotional pain I feel every time I think of this loss. It being a special gift from my mother makes it even harder. It has taken me a very long time to even address warning other people about this place. Please find another place to go so you do not end up just donating a rare instrument to this place. And receiving no replacement of equal value in return. Just heartbroken and I will carry this pain for the rest of my life. Dont end up like me.

I actually know quite a lot about music. I told the associate I just wanted to look around. I was surprised that they only had about four basic instruments. I asked him if they ever got in more variety as far as inventory goes, and he said, This is all you really need. He said it would cost me thousands of dollars if I wanted to buy any instrument other than what he had to sell. Lol. He also said that nobody would repair any other instruments. I acted ignorant in order to give him a chance to explain himself, but it turns out he was completely lost. It was pathetic and sad to watch.
Great place for musicians
I purchased an instrument for my son. I am being billed after having paid and even sent a collection letter that went on my credit report!When I asked for them to acknowledge my payment and provided my bank statement they just told me to email their customers service call center. I did and the people there also refuse to acknowledge my payment. They are stealing from me and continue to bill me.
I just want to say that I’ve been to this store a couple of times because it’s the only one near me and every time I come here the staff always has an attitude and are very rude (Justin and Jeremy). I am very dissatisfied and hope that they can learn to treat the customers better. Always rolling their eyes and having a big attitude even my mom has noticed that they have an attitude. Even with their face masks on you can see that they have a problem with everything. I will most definitely not be cooking back to this store even if I have to drive an hour to a different one. Really hope they learn some manners on how to treat their customers. Really disappointed. This is also not the first time this has happened please do a better job on training your employees on how to handle customers in a nice way without having an attitude or being disrespectful until then I will not be coming back to this store.
If there were more than 5 stars then I would give it. I brought my son here for alto saxophone lessons with Mr. Bailey and I couldn’t be happier. My son has been playing better and he has a love for playing. Jeremy and Heather the manager are both great! I am glad that I called. I drive from Garland to this location for lessons and I even started my own lessons on an acoustic guitar that they gave me for free! Great place!
These guys dont know what in stock means, and put on all their headphones knowing that they have to order them on a per sale basis. Dont expect them to have actual products to sell you
I absolutely LOVE Music and Arts Plano. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful--shoutout to Matthew and Jeremy especially; I usually end up spending too much time here due to getting caught up in a conversation with someone over our own musical experiences. I buy all my books here for lessons and my personal library, and if I ever cant find something, they immediately jump on helping me find an alternative or ordering it. 10/10 always recommend.
Have been here twice and super happy with the staff! The taller guy with brown hair (receipt said Matthew) was so helpful each time I came! I will be returning for my sons band items 😁
Visited Music and Arts to get my new violin tuned and bridge adjusted for the first time. They did it for free and also gave me info about their violin and piano classes. Heather was really sweet over the phone and made me feel welcome. Its good to know that theres a friendly music shop nearby.

I received a bill for violin rental 3 years after we turned the violin back in. When I called the store to try to resolve the situation Jeremy was incredibly short and unfriendly. I understand it was close toclosing time but that does not excuse the rudeness. I ended up calling another location and speaking to someone who said they would give my information to a manager to look into but I’m still waiting for the return phone call. Do NOT rent musical instruments from here!!!
This music and arts is one of the best I have ever been to. The staff is very nice and acknowledging of you right as you walk in the door. I have been renting a Alto Sax from there and it is just wonderful. They have great lesson teachers and I would recommend anyone to go there.
We have had excellent service here at the Music and Arts store. We have rented instruments for school, bought instruments to include a Guitar and Drum Set, and other accessories. The manager has spent enough time with me, as I assume he does with his other customers, to where I know his name, Jeff. The other staff have always been great to deal with, patient and kind. We know another guy by name, Mike, and he has always been helpful as well. Whats more important is that they know me by my name and it just feels great and welcoming every time I need to stop in there.
My wife and I went twice this past weekend. Once for piano sheet music and then to buy a keyboard and accessories. Both time, the experience was welcoming and positive. It is nice to have a local music store where we can find good material at a good price.

If I could give them a lower score, I would. Awful customer service. Kept running down my mom’s credit score. Horrible horrible people. We rented a Viola for school and when it was time to return it they wanted us to pay another $300 to pay it off. Trying to reason with them did not help. When we wanted to speak to someone with higher authority, they did not let us at all.
Beautiful store with very nice employees. Good selection and well-kept lesson areas.

Terrible customer service, the only associate willing to help is Jeremy. Had to go twice since I was sold the wrong bow for violin, first time, Kayla seemed annoyed when I asked if the bow I was buying was for violin....it was a viola. Jeremy made sure I could exchange the bow, and put it on hold for me. When I arrived to do the exchange, Justin was really busy texting, barely talked to me, felt like he was doing me a favor when he got the bow for me. I will not be coming back to this store. I dont like to give bad reviews, but boy they earned it.

We were ready to buy a Yamaha keyboard and the employee tells us there is not any in stock and asked if we wanted to take the used up display. Did not want to discount it and if we ordered we would have had to wait up to 10 business days. We took our business elsewhere. The customer service was not the best either.
Walked in, waited, was completely ignored by the attendant. He jumped at the chance to help the next people who walked in. Clearly didnt want my business. Ill buy my instruments elsewhere.
