Rick completed service to the radiator and got me back on the road in a very timely fashion. And based on their inspection they even advised that I did not need brake service yet. Rick and Russell are really nice guys and they have won my loyalty with their honesty,integrity, and high service level. This is the only place I will have work done on my Volvo from here on out.

I have been working with them with multiple vehicles for about 5 years now with simple maintenance visits to motor swap. Oven been taking my 07 sequoia here for years; both for regular maintenance and ransom repairs. I am always pleased with the excellent service and attention to details. I was recommended to Ricks Peformance Shop, by son and my daughter-in-aw. For my Prius.Called earlier for an appointment. It was the next day first thing.It is a larger shop, organized well maintained, very clean and nowadays sanituzed.I was greeted by Rick himself. Left my car for a full initial check up,A couple of hours later he contacted me, for what needed to be done.. I got the car that same day, parts and labor were extremely reasonable, compare to the dealer.Rick is a very honest person. Havent initiated/proposed unnecessary tasks for the car.I do recommend this place for all your cars, you wont be disappointed.Oh I dropped off my Mazda for the same reason (full initial check up).

Great Auto Shop! Beginning with the first phone call... helpful & friendly Shirley to schedule appointment! When dropping off our car they have a very nice clean comfortable waiting room if your waiting for your car with drinks and snacks. After our service we spoke directly with Rick after his technicians preformed a 3K service, Four wheel Alignment and a full vehicle inspection to inform us of overall current condition and what maintenance will need to be done in the future! Very informative informational online report with pictures of each item! Have never seen anything like this detailed report!! Very awesome!!The prices quoted were also reasonable. We will be back to have our cars serviced at Ricks Performance!! :)

Rick took on the difficult task of getting my 1983 Rx7 to run again. It was difficult to find anyone capable of performing engine restoration of a Rx this old. Ricks cost estimations were right on and he explained the details of the work in a laymans language. He also provided photos. Rick and his staff are friendly and work hard to live up to their reputation. Thanks Rick and staff.

Good service, but you’ll pay for it. Ricks actually charges $25 to rotate tires, even when they have the car on the lift anyway. Too Ricks for my blood haha.

Great service, kind people. Very trustworthy. Ive brought my car in before thinking it needed work but Rick explained what was happening and sent me on my way with just the small inspection fee for looking into it.

We have had our Volvo serviced at Ricks a few times. The work and communication from Rick has been excellent however on our most recent service, I was told that I could not stay in the wait area/lobby while my car was being serviced. As I had not arranged to be picked up I was essentially told to leave and come back when the service had been completed, later in the day. There really isnt anywhere near the shop that I could wait comfortably for a few hours so I tried to arrange for a rental car. Turns out that the battery on my phone ran out so I was unable to get a pick up scheduled. The next option was public transportation but I did not have cash (and could not easily find an ATM) - so that was out. I ended up walking 8 miles to get home. This in and of itself would not have been so bad but I was not prepared to walk that distance, mid day at close to 100 degrees....awful experience. If the lobby is not to be used by paying customers that should be made clear when the appointment is made - I have NEVER heard of anything like this! Prior to Ricks we have always taken the car to the Volvo dealer. The option for drop off & return service or use of a new Volvo for the day is worth the extra effort to get to a dealer. I am still shocked by this experience.

Ive taken my last two cars to Ricks for all my scheduled maintenance and any repairs when needed. Their service and my experience has always been great. They may not be the cheapest shop in town but I rather pay for service I can trust and feel comfortable with. The work I have had done their has allays been excellent and I have never felt up-charged on parts. They explain whats wrong, what my options are and what it will cost. Last year my car got damaged in an accident and I decided to retire it, I recently got a new car and Ricks was a my first call after the purchase.

Rick was prompt & curious about my cars heater-air conditioning and researched the issue. He found the problem and solved it in one afternoon!

Couldn’t be happier with the service. The communication from the minute I booked the appointment to when I picked up the car was great. They diagnosed a problem that another shop totally missed.

After doing some research, I gave them a call to have them take a look at my Miata that was over heating a bit after a recent radiator replacement done by my trusty Honda mechanic. Left them a voice mail and when I called back to inquire about my vm, gentlemen said he was about to call me. He declined to work on my car as the original work was done by someone else. Oookay!!! It’s like a a doctor refusing to look at a patient because a different doctor had done the surgery first.Strike One.Few weeks later my wife’s Honda Odyssey would not start at her work place. It was still early in the morning and When my tow truck arrived they suggested ricks performance as they were close by and within aaa network. I decide to give them another chance. I get the car towed and dropped off at Rick’s performance and I wait at their parking lot for 30 mins before they opened their door. When they open the door I go in and lo and behold they refuse to accept my car as they are full. I even say I do not need the car right away and they can keep it for a few days. No dice. When asked where I should take the car he suggests the dealership. BTW I have a 2005 odyssey with 127k on the clock. Of all people they suggest the dealership. On pressing again he did say try Harry’s across the corner. So I end up having to call AAA again to get the car towed .25 mile. That is Strike 2 AND 3 in my book.

Beyond impressed! These guys are TRULY what the Auto Mechanics Industry needs. I just recently moved to Pleasanton from San Jose (where there are very few friendly and thorough mechanics) and needed some work done on my car. I decided to Yelp mechanics in the area and found Ricks Performance and, considering their awesome reviews, decided to try them out, myself. I am extremely glad I did! I spoke with Rick over the phone and received pleasant vibes from him. I also spoke with and was mainly dealing with Russell in person. Not only is Russell suuuper friendly but he also explained everything, good and bad, with my car. In addition to the thoroughness I received in person.. they also sent me an email with explanations and photos of the issues they found. They also hooked me up with an Auto Vitals service account where I could be reminded of our conversation at the shop... Suuuper helpful, as I am very forgetful and love reminders! I went to Ricks this past weekend for the first time for an oil / filter change. My husband recommended this place after I was taken advantage of at our local Lexus dealership. I arrived around 9:23am, 7 mins before the shop was supposed to open and noticed the door was unlocked so I went in. Right away I was greeted by a really nice man named Russel and asked if I was there to get my Lexus serviced. This was a pleasant surprise I thought I’d have to wait to get help till 9:30am which is their normal business hours. He checked me in and advised they would do a courtesy vehicle inspection as well. 10 - 15 mins later Russel comes to me and tells me I would need to get my front brakes replaced. My first thought was, oh no I’m getting taken advantage of again. He went into more details and talked about what they saw and the tests conducted, I was a bit dubious but took his advice anyways and went ahead and got my brakes replaced. Once everything was done I came back and Russel greets me at the window and presents me with my old brake pads. I was shocked, the pads were almost gone and close to the metal. I’ve heard screeching noises once in a while and thought its was just dust as it wasn’t very consistent. He told me he just wanted to show me to reassure me that they were not going to replace anything that didn’t really need replacing. This was the turning point for me. I appreciated this gesture very much. It showed me that they understood their customers. Any doubt I had up to this point is now gone. I knew right then Ricks Performance is going to be my go to shop for everything. I no longer have that fear of getting exploited by service writers at dealerships. That little gesture meant a lot and because of that and their great staff they have gained a life long customer and would recommend to everyone.

Fast, efficient, TRUSTWORTHY service!

My wife and I have been customers of Ricks for the past ~5 years. Weve probably visted them a dozen times between the handful of cars that weve had. I have always been completely satisfied with ther work and their customer service. The last time I brought my semi-new car in there after the dealer couldnt fix a wobble in the front wheel. The dealer sold me brakes, but Ricks quickly identified the bearing as the cause and fixed it right away at a reasonable price. We are very satisfied with and trust Ricks Performance.

Took my 6 year old Infiniti in for an oil change and got a complete inspection of my carat no cost other than the oil change.My car had no problems whatsoever !When is the last time you took your car in to a new place and they found no problems?I found them to be honest, courteous and reasonably priced.I got 213,000 miles out of my last car, a Toyota.Im hoping Rick can help me get the same out of my Infiniti.

There is a shop in the east bay also specializing in rotary work and both of these shops do good work . Ive hard my 1988 rx7 towed to Ricks on a couple of occasions and it was longdistance towing. Short story: HONEST HONEST HONEST Mechanic. You will not be disappointed with their work, very professional and detail oriented.More than anything they are very patient and customer service is at its best.long story:My Cars alternator died on the freeway, Naturally, it soon ran out of battery too on 580 W at exit 46. It was thanksgiving day then the ordeal started > Called AAA tow truck > started googling for mobile mechanics / auto repair. Found none that were open(obviously everything is closed on thanksgiving day) BAD BAD luck !.. I came across Ricks Performance had 5 star reviews decided to get it towed there. AAA tow truck driver was not happy at all as he wanted me to choose his workshop(although ricks performance is listed under AAA). Nevertheless, I insisted and had it towed to Ricks Performance (The best decision I took that day ) but as a back up I had booked a mobile mechanic in case Ricks Performance does not open on friday(next day i.e black friday) the day after thanks giving and had also bought an alternator from an auto parts store as a backup.Called Ricks performance at around 9:30 AM on black friday, This time someone did the answer the phone luckily, They said they were open but, are only working on some emergency repairs and are understaffed too.After, I told them my story about how My car had ended up in their parking lot they agreed to help me out in an instant. Though I had told them I will be there by 10:00 AM, with car pooling co-ordination etc, I ended up at their facility close to 11 AM, by 11:30 AM we had ordered the new alternator.After checking the entire charging system and battery. 11:30 AM was the cut off time to order parts if it had to be delivered on the same day (as it was holiday i guess) so, just in time we placed the order. I cancelled my mobile mechanic who I had on hold (yes, I did pay him some fair amount of money as I had booked him and he had agreed to drive 25 miles on a holiday) and I returned the alternator I bought to the auto parts store later as that was not an OEM part.I had also suspected some power steering pump leaking oil on the alternator which might have created this issue, after reading some online forums about my car model (1996 LS 400). So I had mentioned this during the work order notes.They fixed the car as promised by EOD. Told me nothing wrong with power steering pump and also gave me a call couple of days later to check on car (who does that ?).He charged me very nominally when he could have easily charged me more. Given that he knew my situation (stranded on the shoulder on a freeway)and more over when I myself had told him to check on the power steering leak. He did not have to worry about me returning as he knew, I stayed in Sacremento (90-100 miles away), he knew I may not return to his shop ever again after this one time, none of that mattered . He is a man with integrity and charged me what he normally would. He completed the job professionally and waited for me to close the shop as I was again late by 10-15 mins during pickup. He explained with patience and returned my old part as It had warranty so I could get it exchanged for some store credit.On top of it He gave me AAA discount too(without me asking for it).After this experience I am so tempted to drive 90 miles every time in future if I need anything done on my car. You can totally trust these folks with your car. The facility itself is CLEAN and they have free cookies :-) too.. I have driven lot of old cars and I still drive an old car. So I know how difficult it can be to get an 1) honest mechanic 2) not very expensive 3) has professional and clean facility 4) AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE all these qualities make this workshop a GREAT GREAT FIND .. If you are near by dont miss out ..THANKS AGAIN guys for the help during holidays.. My best wishes ..
