Always my favorite book shop to visit when we come through Port Angeles and, being raised here, it was my home bookstore that helped me fall in love with reading. It used to be quaint and cozy but now its a bit hoarder-esque where you can barely make it in the door without a pile of unpacked boxes or toys. Wish theyd organize better...would make the book buying experience so much better, like it used to be. We still enjoyed the visit, and my family still living in PA said its usually always disorganized as it was, but we will be going back because their prices are good and lots of options.

Always obtain used books as well sorted by author and type. Excellent selection available. Also fun shopping area for gifts!

My sister and I visited Odyssey on June 26 after an appointment I had there. My sister spied it from the car and we quickly pulled over to take a look. It was on one of the days when it was over a hundred degrees in other parts of the Puget Sound area so it felt really nice to be where it was cooler, relatively speaking.The shop is jammed packed with a great selection of books and gifts and we spent a good deal of time browsing the shelves. They also had a really fun selection of games, craft and science kits, and STICKERS. Some of which were PNW, bookstore and library related. I got a few of each. My sister got a few stickers, a book, and a puzzle (they had puzzles too!) and had really nice interactions with the staff on duty. We are already talking about making a trip back up near the holidays to do some gift shopping there.If youre in Port Angeles and want to check out a REAL bookstore (and not some soulless chain or worse, mega conglomerate, slave driving super store) then its worth the drive up the peninsula to check out this gem in Port Angeles.

Really cramped, but LOTS of good stuff in there. Especially for kiddos. Both my kids found multiple books and a few other little things to bring home. Love their selection. Used and new books available. Support your local bookstore!

Fantastic find while visiting Port Angeles. This store is packed with new and used books. Tons of different genres to choose from. Not your usual run of the mill bookstore for sure. Definitely worth a stop if you love books!

Amazing place you could spend 48 hours straight in there and still not see everything they have to offer. We will be shopping them online as well.

I would love to give this unique bookshop a five star rating, but there is one thing that is stopping me. I had been told by an employee, after mentioning my own personal library of books, that they offer a buy for credit program and that I should bring in any novels I wanted to exchange for credit. So I brought in six, six FIRST edition/FIRST printing Stephen King Novels. Titles such as The Tommyknockers, Needful Things, Four Past Midnight and etc. Novels that could easily sell for $50 + on any forum or in any store. I was offered $24.00. I was so insulted and just shocked that I didn’t say anything and looking back I should have voiced my opinion but was just so taken back that I didn’t say a word. Never again will I do any sort of exchange program, especially considering the same novels I “sold” this bookstore are now going to be sold for $8/10 minimum per novel. From an independent book seller to another, it’s disappointing and really downgrades my star rating for this otherwise lovely store.

Very cute place. Very covid conscious. You cant even enter or exit without her opening the door for you. Immediately upon entering you are given sanitizer before you can look at books.

We always visit this bookstore when we take a vacation or holiday break in the area. They always have an incredible variety of unique jigsaw puzzles, postcards, and reading items. I especially appreciate the orderly arrangement of the extensive assortment of used books and materials.

Love this store, great selection of jigsaw puzzles...but they had scented hand sanitizer they insisted on and I am chemical sensitive so it was bad. Couldnt wash off. Ugh.

Caution you’ll want to spend lots of money not because it’s expensive but because you’ll see so many books you want! So many cool editions

This is literally my favorite store in Port Angeles. They always have an amazing selection of new and used books and a super cozy atmosphere. Whether I am looking for something specific or just browsing for something new, I always end up leaving with a book that I greatly enjoy. Thank you for everything you guys do!!

Very nice local bookstore, which retails both new and used books. They have a large array of both kinds on either side of the store. Staff has been very courteous and nice every visit. They have a pretty cool setup where you can turn in a grocery bag of used books once a day, in return you get store credit for other used books. They are somewhat selective on them and I do know prior library books are not accepted.

Its got personality. You can browse for hours! When my kids were little we used to go there and look at all the books and there were fun little toys that were inexpensive so I could afford to get them something most of the time.

Great local book store in downtown Port Angeles. You walk in and immediately smell the distinctive smell of books. Love of different categories which were labeled a little hard to see at times but there is a lot to choose from. Found some great older books for my kids for a fair price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed it, wish their comic/graphic novel section was larger. Overall great selection at a fair price. Would recommend.

Did not have enough time to fully explore this well stocked book shop. Diverse selection of new and used books. Prices reasonable. Youre sure to find something good here.

I love going here when I get the chance. It’s always so fun to look around as the store has an amazing selection of books and all kinds of other stuff. I buy some books here but the prices are retail so the prices are too high for me as I know I can get them cheaper online. But I still love going here and I always have a fun time as it’s a wonderful and beautiful bookstore. Best in Port Angeles!!

Great selection of new and used books, plus a wonderful gift shop and unique toy section. Highly recommended for locals and tourists alike!(They do need more space or a larger storeroom; when I was there on a Saturday afternoon, there were boxes and carts full of books all over the aisles and floors of the used book section. I could have rated them lower but Ive been there many, many times in the past and Ive never seen it look that before today.)

I did not hate that bookstore i loved it. It had everything u can imagine that your children would love to do or learn, it was awsome. I will never go anywhere else to get my grkids a present.yes i bought a book that showed kids from 2 to 6 how to make flubber and just soooo many things i cant remember them all.

Let me preface by saying I really want to give this store 5 stars. It has fun unique items and I would love to support it, even with their prices being significantly higher than what you can find online. They are a small business and I like to keep my money in the community. That being said they should treat their costumers better if they expect people to pay above average prices to support them. I have gone in three times in the last week and spent roughly $400. Every single time I have gone in, the lady who wears the apron (I believe she is the owner or manager) has been completely rude and unaccomadating. The second time I went in I brought in a couple returns that I decided I no longer needed/wanted. It was within a week and both items were in their packaging so the young lady helping me was very kind and happy to help. I then turned around and spent all the money I got back from returning the items, and more. This was yesterday and I bought a nightmare before Christmas game of Operation, that was $29.99. We were very excited for it when I brought it home, opened it up and put batteries in it, and got ready to have some fun. Only it didn’t work. Yes some of the “operation sites” caused Oogie boogie to blast out his obnoxious lines, but quite a few didn’t really work at all, with you having to click around a couple times to make the “functioning” ones work. Alright no big deal, they were cool about the other returns that I didn’t even use or have a real reason to return (other than I changed my mind), so they should most definitely be cool about reimbursing me for buying something that only half works at best, right? Wrong. I brought the game in the day after I bought it (today) and was greeted with a monotone welcome of “you’re back”. I very kindly and agreeably tried to explain the issue and show what was wrong, and though the first few sites she tried were more responsive than the night before, there were still sites not really working at all, and if they did you had to put in some serious effort to make them “buzz”. I was told “well now you can cheat” and “yeah it’s in functioning condition”. I brought it back home and considered just throwing it away and forgetting the whole thing, but I thought other people should know that there’s a solid chance that even if you do spend good money, you will be treated like an annoyance and will not have issues resolved in a professional manner. Don’t waste your time or money here, go a couple blocks up the street to Port Book and News if you want to support a local book store.*EDIT* The actual owner (the woman I spoke of was neither the owner nor the manager) got in contact with me and made the situation right. She offered to refund my money but I chose a store credit and purchased more items because, as I said, it’s a very fun unique store with a lot to offer. The majority of the people who work there are very pleasant and accommodating, the four stars (instead of five) simply reflect my caution due to the unfortunate situation I experienced with one of the employees.

Odyssey has a large assortment of new and used books. They have a large childrens section, adult fiction and nonfiction and calendars,and art books. There are fun and unique items for sale as well, like toys, puppets, and novelty gift items.

My favorite place to find books staff there are always very helpful and very nice I would give it 100 plus stars if it let me its the only place in will go for as long as they are there.

Fun little shop, they have both new and old book for sale. Descent price on used books and new books are retail prices. Lots of little trinkets, games, post cards, etc.

Nice little bookstore. I stopped in on way to Neah Bay for PLU. Super friendly staff and a nice selection to browse from. I ended up picking up some books on indigenous people within the United States. I will be stopping in again when Im going through.
