Very nice bookstore with great selection of books. Can find something for everyone here with a wide selection of mugs and other gift items, lots of puzzles and maps, informational books, a whole second floor balcony full of fiction, and a big kids section too. Bookstore hosts a virtual reading club as well. Also window displays very cute and pull you in. Could spend all day here.

It is a Holiday tradition to browse the windows at Port Book and News. We have taken the same photo for 6 years. Then we browse the store for gifts. In a normal year, they offer cider and cookies at the front door. Im glad we got to keep this tradition in 2020.

Love this book store! When I first moved here I was worried Id miss aimlessly wandering around Barnes and Noble, but this is so much better and personable. I get to chit chat with the friendly workers about the latest book club selections. I can order anything I need and support local. Sure its not Amazon prices, but it says a lot to shop from a Mom and Pop bookstore. Reminds me of Youve Got Mail. You cant find that kind of customer service from Amazon or big box stores.

All bookstores should be this interesting! From the second you walk through the door, youre greeted by the friendly staff and something really interesting everywhere you look. While its not a huge store, their inventory is diverse and fascinating. I could find any gift for all my family members without breaking a sweat😃

It is easy to spend an hour or more browsing, for more than just books, this store has a unique mix of cards, puzzles, gifts, tshirts, and other unique items. This time I only bought an assortment of postcards- images I hadnt seen before among other quality ones - generally about 20% less costly.

We came in the last week of October and looked around. Cute store. I told the woman working I was in a book slump as I’d finished a series and told her what it was and a few other authors I enjoyed. She showed me a section and took time to describe a few series she thought I’d enjoy. I bought one of the books and she hit the nail on the head. I’m so excited to dive into the Patricia Briggs series she suggested. It was exactly what I was missing. Thank you!

I had the absolute best bookstore experience in this bookstore. I had such a well read employee walk up, and ask: “where are you from”, and from there he gave me two absolutely perfect book recommendations. Stop into this bookstore on your trip to Port Angeles. I walked out with a great book about the native Pacific Northwest and logging called “The Golden Spruce”

Love to browse when Im bored, love it when Im in hurry and need a title/author for work/play, love that they know what and where it is on the shelf when you can only remember part of the title or author with some subject hints. They would make exceptional charade partners! Wouldnt you know, they buy, sell, trade too, so low cash, need a boost days, bust out the credit certificate and enjoy. Outstanding customer service orientation! That is the #1 determinant of whether or not I will return, and this independent bookstore really has it. Cool old-timey bookstore. Been a long time since Ive been in one. Didnt have what I wanted exactly but still nice to wander around and find something new. Employees were like I want them to be; apathetic and a little judgmental of what you are buying.

LOVE this place! I live in Seattle but visit every time I am in the area for the Crab Festival. Staff are always sweet and welcoming. They have a great selection of unique cards/gifts made by local artists and a fabulous selection of books! I can always count on them to have a cute fridge magnet/other goodies to take home as souvenirs.

Ive been coming to this store since 2006. If they dont have a book...they can usually order one for you. The staff are always helpful and truly knowledgeable. A must visit when touring our small hamlet on the Peninsula.

Awesome used bookstore. Went before taking the ferry to Canadia looking for one buck Steinbeck classics. Left with way more Steinbeck classics because they had so many of them, at outstanding prices. Thats what you want from a used bookstore.

Ive lived here for 41 years and this was my first time in the book store 🙈 not much of a reader but I went with my brother and his wife and found some interesting gadgets. By gadgets there was some brain teaser puzzles and other games and some interesting socks that had book nerd on them and other sayings that refer to books. Theres rows and rows of books I didnt look at them much but a few kids books. Magazines and other trinkets I seen globes and maps. Kinda interesting I might go back just to look around again maybe get my kids couple things. But it is really nice place really clean and really quiet lol I recommend you check it out if you havent either.

This is a wonderful bookstore. I went in with a vague request, and found Helena to be almost psychic in her ability to figure what book I was looking for, and to identify a few more of a similar ilk for my book club. She was brilliant, and I love this bookstore. Great assortment of tasteful gifts and cards as well. Its a treasure. I try to give them my business anytime Im in the area.

A large selection of new as well as used books, magazines, and if they dont have something they will order it for you. I have not seen such a wide selection of magazines anywhere else and you can find publications about any topic. They also have a large and varied selection of quality cards for every occasion and blank. Friendly service in a very pleasant atmosphere. Wonderful place to browse

Lots of fun games and books

I was there today. I noticed a children’s book that appeared to be disparaging president Trump. So, I pick it up and read a few pages.****Really, a book for CHILDERN to hate the president of the United States. Unbelievable.****I cannot even begin to tell you how utterly devastating this is to me. NOT because I’m a Trump fan but because it’s wrong.This is what’s wrong with America.I’ll not return.

What a great store for finding unusual gifts or books. Lots, I mean lots of local interest books and local authors. Used as well as new books, childrens books and so many games, amazing selection of magazines! I dont get downtown as often as I would like, but Port Book and News is a must when I do!

We have known the Turner family for years. They run a great shop and have a great variety of books both used and new as well as cool family games and cards and still maintain an extensive magazine collection. Lots of author readings and free cookies and cider frequently.
