Always fun to shop and explore. New titles and collections coming every week. Great shopping for you guitar players also in the same shop. Go have some fun!
I think the Guitar Store is the most versatile guitar store in town. They have a very wide range of product from the lowest to the highest end. All the staff there are super helpful and friendly and more importantly have great taste in music and gear. Helped my friend found her amazing Jazz bass in the shop. The price is very fair and the staff was very nice and bear with my horrifying bass playing.
Ive been playing guitar for 30 years and the best buying experience Ive ever had was with the staff at the Guitar Store. Matt was quick to clearly communicate my options and polite and respectful to my buying needs. There are guitar dealers much closer to where I live, but I will always give the Guitar Store first shot at my future business. Five Stars!!! Class Act!!!
Another Great Review? Seriously, these guys have a great shop. The vibe reminds me of the best guitar shops in Nashville. You wont find cookie-cutter type gear in here. You will find amps that give off the best kind of harmonic tone, and guitars that are alive and resonate in your hands as if to say Take me home with you...
Great place, certainly the best in Seattle and in Washington State. INSANE effects pedal selection, possibly the best in the entire country for a walk-in store. Good guys, work hard to keep even the smallest things in stock, and absolutely the place to go if you are a pedal addict or a guitar addict. These people will sell you the stuff you need to calm your addiction.
You gotta love this store! James is a great owner and has a wonderful staff. This is a fantastic place to take lessons at. Great instructors that span a wide variety of styles are always available. The Guitar Store is just an awesome place. Stop thinking about picking up a guitar or signing up for lessons and get in there!
This place is a treasure. The staff are the warmest, friendliest group of music lovers I’ve ever interacted with and the service is unparalleled. On top of all that their repair center rescued my guitar when a tech from a major chain store made it unplayable. I bring every one of my guitars here for work, I buy parts here and my kid bought their first electric guitar here.
Dave did a quick turn a round for a fret job. It was solid work and I’ll be back for any other needed guitar triage. Good peeps.
Stopped in while in Seattle with my son who is a young musician and he was treated like a seasoned vet. The staff listed to him and what he was trying to accomplish and provided him with some great feedback and recommendations. Will be back next time we are in the area. Customers for life.
Ordered a pedal from them that was a demo model. The shipping was fast and the quality was excellent. I will definitey keep them in mind for future orders. Well Done SGS!
Ordered some pedals online and they arrived quickly in excellent condition.
Going into this place was a bit intimidating. That was IMMEDIATELY squashed by the super helpful, super knowledgeable folks who worked there. Not only were we guided to what we needed, but then given a helpful demo between two similar pedals to showcase where the difference was.I really cant praise the place highly enough, and I also couldnt find a cheaper alternative online.Would recommend to anyone. :]
Unable to fulfill even a $100 pedal orderCertainly not a self-starter. Stay clear unless you prefer to be the motivator
Matt and the guys are amazing!! Great guys - they go above and beyond for their customers. I bought a Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 30th Anniversary - Matt helped me with any questions I had and got my guitar from Seattle to Nashville safe and sound! I would not hesitate to buy from The Guitar Store again!!!!
One of the best music shops Ive been to. The staff were great in helping me find a new guitar and gave me a fair trade-in value. Ive interacted with about 4 different staff members in the few times Ive visited; they were all easy to approach, gave me solid advice, and werent pushy.
Purchased a guitar online from them with significant fret wear. As a result I had to return it and pay shipping both ways. Over $120 gone because they didnt include this issue in the listing. When I asked why I had to pay shipping, they said I should have asked about any issues before buying. A buyer shouldnt have to assume an instrument as issues they need to ask about if they arent included in a listing.
Really fantastic store. The staff is so helpful and knowledgable. Helpful not pushy. The other day was the second time I have purchased pedals from this store. Every time I am there the staff are so great. Most guitar stores suffer from ignorant or arrogant staff (or sometimes both), but these guys are so helpful and a pleasure to interact with. Great store that I will continue to purchase from and recommend to anyone whether they are a beginner or expert guitarist.
Simply one of the best shops locally to buy great gear at competitive prices. Now that I’ve found them, I don’t shop around. One of a kind! Cheers!
Have bought a few pedals from them on Reverb. Great, flexible customer service. I will definitely be buying more pedals from them in the future.
I ordered on line. I phoned in to confirm what I was getting, which was described as new and unopened. It arrived opened and missing parts, which I immediately called them about. They said no problem, we ll take of it.Several calls and weeks later I happened into their shop, and asked them in person. We will get this sorted soon.Clearly they havent done what they said. Be careful dealing with these guys online.
If youre in the market for a fuzz pedal, please seek out Sean. Not only is he super nice and patient guy, but his competency and proficiency in pedals is second-to-none. I traveled from Astoria, OR to Seattle on the basis of TGSs customer service and selection alone.
It was absolutely the best experience Ive ever had at a guitar store, friendly staff and amazing guitars. They truly are the Land of 1000 Pedals
Good people, great stuff. In the business because they love music.
Best pedal selection in the region, these guys even go to NAMM and try everything out. I have bought a lot of gear from here, travel all the way from Carnation just to test all the amazing pedals. Their Amp selection is sweet too, eventually I will get a PRS here as well.
Awesome guys to work with. Knowledgeable and super helpful. I will be bringing more business to these guys in the future
One of the best shops I have been in with 20+ years of life in guitar shops. Friendly, knowledgeable staff with enthusiam to spare. Highly recommended.
When your staff is composed of musicians who love what they do, it shows. I brought my guitar in here for a setup after being thoroughly underwhelmed by the national chain and I couldnt be happier that I did. From now on all my guitar needs will be met here.Thank you, guitar store.
There is no better boutique guitar store in Seattle. These guys know their amps. I bought a beautiful Suhr amp and cabinet. Owner was great, and hey, free t-shirt!!
Amazing service nice people and high quality instruments, tuners, capos, picks and more.
They have the best gear and the most helpful and friendly team of people. I highly recommend this place!
The staff was extremely helpful in helping me find what I was looking for and suggesting alternatives. I would definitely come here for my next purchase.
Might be a bunch of little kids, they dont answer their phone or update their website. I would avoid.
I live a couple hours away from Seattle, but sometimes when I’m going to be in town I’ll look over the inventory of local guitar shops to see if there is anything I want to go check out. Of every guitar store in Seattle, this one has the most useless website.
Great place - highly recommended! I always drive right past the clueless corporate music chain to find amazing local shops like this one. They have a great selection of quality gear thats not easy to find elsewhere (i.e. Mesa/Boogie, Strymon pedals, etc). The staff is really friendly and seems just as excited about the gear youre looking to purchase as you are. This makes it fun because you dont feel like youre just another annoying customer, but instead like your buddy is there saying dude, that sounds awesome - that thing rules. Kudos to James and his team!
I brought two different guitars in for setup and minor repairs and they did a great job. Nice guys who know their stuff, a very well curated selection of guitars, amps, and effects as well.
The best store around. Great selection, awesome staff, and home base for Frommel electronics
Excellent guitar shop, also has kids band instruments for rental. Great staff!
Comes equipped with an awesome staff and great selection of guitars. All of the staff members are honest, real guys who are very helpful and nice.
Good selection but bad service. I walked in and they just stare you down without asking you if you need help. Very rude.
Everyone who works here is super helpful, you wont get any of that Im too cool cause I work at a guitar store attitude like some of the other places in the area. Thanks!
Took the time to deal with us and show us the love of music.Out of the 10 stores we visited this was the only one we spent money at.Thanks for the great experience.
Get shop, and I have been in them from here to Miami and everywhere in between. The shop: Real good selection for any size shop, with a wide variety of price points. The staff was friendly, but the owner is great.I bought a Gretsch last weekend. I knew what I wanted, and its price at GC, and MF. The guitar shop had it the same price, but they threw in a gig bag (OK one), picks, a tuner, and a tee shirt. You always want to feel you got a deal when buying a new guitar....so if you can buy local, pay the same as the big chains, get some swag you can use, but hate to buy....win, win, win.
Ive bought all sorts of stuff from these guys. Old Mosrite, pedal board, loopers, cords...always super cool dudes and way helpful. A real music store.
Came in to get some strings for my bass, was taken really good care of by Sean!
Picked up a Breedlove Premier O F mandolin. I called them about two hours before I got there to make sure that it was available. They restrung it before I got there too which was nice. The staff were friendly knowledgable and attentive without being pushy. As far as pricing goes for the Breedlove mandolins they were about 25% less then guitar center and other websites. Well done! This will be my first choice for future purchases from now on.
This is the best Guitar store in Seattle for a real musician. Patrick was more than awesome with helping me select the right amp the other day. And when we hit gold and found the right one they were willing to negotiate a deal with me since the list price was out of my budget. Amazing!!!! Ive been to almost every guitar store on the west coast from LA to Vancouver BC. Been in the Seattle/Tacoma area for the last 7 years and visited them all except for this one and after just 2 visits they will keep my buisiness forever. Unlike most guitar stores that ignore you and wait for you to say i want it to be engaged, Patrick stuck with me for over an hour trying to help me find that sound I was looking for, and he found it! thanks man if you read this!!!! Dont waste your time anywhere else, these guys have the knowlege and background to answer any questions about the gear they stock and really cater to musicians. They also know how to take care of their customers. This was old school customer service, there was no BS or scamming, this is a good honest shop. Not sure about the 4.7 rating because they deserve all 5. Guitar Center is a joke compared to these guys. Guitarists and Bassists do yourself a favor and stop by this place, you wont be dissapointed.
Amazing shop! Great staff, prices and selection!
I go in for lessons weekly and have gotten great help with improviing my neglected Alvarez acoustic and mexi strat. Thanks to James for being so helpful and a font of knowledge about my guitars. Highly recommend!
Felt like home. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and informed staff.
By far my favorite guitar store in the Seattle area.Ive been a musician and consumer of musical products for over 20 years, and believe me, I have spent my share of time in guitar stores.Three things I like about The Guitar Store:1. Specialized and Streamlined:As their name indicates, it is a guitar store. You can find an uke, or a drum set, and several cool basses; but they live up to the name and sell guitars and guitar accessories with keen awareness of the six string market needs. PARTS: They have that little toggle that fell off your pickup selector switch. AMPS: They are an Orange Dealer which doesnt always show up in local music shops, as well as other tasty local amp creators. AUX: They have pedals Ive never heard of from quality builders. When I plug in their test station I am met with the next generation of guitar FX that redefine what is possible for me as a player. But, they arent too cool to display some boss pedals for sale, which brings me to my next favorable experience of this Store.2. Knowledgable and Cool people.... PLUS!! They are music snobs. They just dont give you that, play something cool or get mocked behind the counter feel you get at some guitar stores. The atmosphere feels like a safe place to bring your kids to learn music, while still pulling off the wow factor that will make your kids totally pumped about the coolness of learning to play an instrument. Some music shops have great teachers, but man, does it feel boring in there. You may know the exact chain Im talking about.3. Quality Guitars: From the entry level $300-600 guitars to the I worked and saved for three years/Im a doctor$$ Several Thousand $ guitars, they dont hang crap on their walls. And as far as my experience, they seem to love guitars and want to support guitar players for a living. Consequently, they sell you quality products at a fair price.Ok, so four things.4. They are UP for a trade or Buy, minus the Ill screw you cause your desperate pawn shop dynamic, that some other trading guitar stores fall into.If your looking for a new guitar, or just starting out as a guitar player, I recommend going to The Guitar Store on Aurora: Where a handshake still means a damn.
I live on the eastside and like to check out different guitar shops while Im in Seattle. First impression, tons of sweet gear (blackstar, G&L, American Breedlove, Orange). And most importantly the staff is helpful, but not pushy. The owner actually believes in what he is selling which makes a huge difference and you can tell this in the way the store is run. I recently bought a cheaper alvarez to mess around on that they were clearing out to make more room for more local builders, it was 40% off. The action felt a little high so I brought it back in and the owner suggested a set of strings that was lighter gauge rather than having the action adjusted at 70$ an hour. I asked how much and he said nothing for the strings. This place takes care of all of its customers, even the ones buying their cheaper stuff. I would pay more a guitar here because of service over buying online and saving a few bucks.Guitar Store Rocks
Bought the wrong strings yesterday, came back and they were very accommodating and willing to give me a new set. The staff here is knowledgeable and helpful, with none of the cockiness that you sometimes encounter at other guitar shops.
Very helpful and friendly staff!
Rude customer service, one of their staff did not allow me to test or touch their PRS because its not for testing and assumed I’m not buying.
Good place for guitars...i love guitars
These guys are top notch!!
Great shop.
Jared Dines anyone?
