I love that Stracks supports our schools and community they always have some kind of Food drive or they are collecting for the schools.

This store is the worst. Horrible produce section. Usually see lots of stuff that should be thrown out.Not much selection of healthy foods. We prefer to go to the Chesterton location. Much better produce and big selection of healthy foods.

I am coming to enjoy grocery shopping in a grocery only store. I will get my steps in elsewhere. I thought the prices would be through the roof. Surprisingly, quite comparable to Kroger and no membership required to get sale prices. Digital coupons are a different story. Clean, decent selection and prices would grocery shop here again.

I picked up cake from the bakery today and it was so beautiful. It was ready and on time. The lady who took my order ahead of time made the process so easy. I didnt know how the cake would come out, but it was above what I expected and the cake was delicious. I called another place first and I couldnt get ahold of the bakery because they were out to lunch at 10am. Im so glad I came here and my mother who turns 80 loved the cake. I will get my cakes from her from now on.

Bakery is great. Deli is the worst. Not enough people working and when you tell them you want freshly cut meat instead of the precut stuff thats been sitting there, they roll their eyes. Sometimes even telling you thats all they have when they know there is more in the back. Only reason I use their Deli is because beefmart in Portage closed a few years ago. Terrible

This store reminds me of when I went shopping with my mom in the early 80s. Theres always someone there cleaning the floor. The shelves are consistently faced and filled. They have a HUGE variety of products. Its just really pleasant. My wife and I are visiting the area for 6 weeks and each trip here has been nothing but pleasant. The prices are also right in line with the huge chains - but this place still has a local, hometown feel that I really enjoy.

Great service, employees, and grocery selection. I do a decent amount of food shopping here. Strack also has a great variety of bottled waters which I almost always purchase when I shop here.

Most things stayed in stock without price raises throughout the covid lockdown. Meat prices are great and everything has been of good quality. Sushi is fresh made and served at a discounted price Fridays and Sundays. These overall selection throughout the store is is varied and practical but not extravagant. The sales as well as the loyalty card perks are plentiful and well worth paying attention to. The only drawback is the produce, which is often of poor or expired quality, and lunch meat which you should check a sample to see if it is spoiled, prior to ordering. Especially higher priced lunch meats like London broil, that arent ordered very often.

I went to Strack & Van Til that is on Central Ave in Portage, IN. The Ladies Restroom is always clean. While I was there I picked up a few items that was on sale.

Even though it was very busy, Da June was extremely helpful and courteous!

This store used to be a Town and Country grocery store, but within the last year, 2018, became a Strack & Van Til. As for the store itself, they made quite a few internal upgrades as to how things are. It certainly has a fresher look than it did. Theyve upgraded signage, displays, colors and its a lot more user-friendly than it used to be at least I think. They still have many of the things they used to have; they have fresh bread, fresh produce,fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, they have a deli bar, they have a sushi bar, they have a Wings bar, they have fresh meat, rozen meat, fresh vegetables, Frozen Foods, Fresh Dairy. All of the normal Staples, and all are at least I think reasonably priced. The people seem to be reasonably friendly, and the store seems to be reasonably well run. Their selection is pretty good, I dont see an emphasis on organic foods like I might like to see, and as I do see and some other Stracks stores, but all in all its a nice store conveniently-located, kept clean, good service, good location. I think this used to be a 24-hour store, but now I think their hours are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. If you arent used to stop shopping at this store, and live in the area give it a try. I think youll find it to be a good store quality store with good products. Are the prices the best? I cant say, cuz I dont shop there very often, but it does seem to have a good selection and prices are reasonable.

Have never been so harassed walking into a store. The obsession with masks, is alarming. Sad to see a store I grew up in, treat healthy people like criminals. Masks dont prevent covid, and sad to see how easily this store has caved to the agenda.

I appreciate the bakery and the quality meats, and having a large grocery store walking distance from my home. I try to ship the majority of my shopping with the local company.I do wish there was a better selection of coffee, but thats not the end of the world.

Nice grocery store, clean and tidy. I liked their grocery section. The entrance is slightly overwhelming as you have a narrow path leading to the grocery aisles to the right, and checkout counters in the other side. I like their clearance section at the end. Also tried their sushi bar (avocado roll and California roll), and my hubby and I both liked it:) the restrooms are slightly hidden, but clean. Will try their other outlets too! Happy grocery shopping:)

This rating is left for the store and more for the employees. Its been utter chaos is the hoarders have attacked. Strack has done a phenomenal job at keeping the shelves stocked and their facility clean. What a reflection on the corporation is a hole and their ability to bring in people that care.

Keep a close eye on the expiration dates especially in the meat department. Used to be a great place to shop but now I think they are more about the look of the store then the quality of products!!!

I hadnt been to this Stracks in a few years. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and organized the place was.

I dont mind the place. Selections a bit limited in some areas and without limit in others. All in all. Youll find something youre looking for. I hope the big stores dont eventually push them out.

The meat and dairy departments are very good. But, the produce department is sorely lacking. Often produce is near the point of spoiling so you have to pay carefulattention to the condition of any fruit or vegatables you are purchasing.

I went to get the five dollar Friday only seafood shrimp dinner and it was very good.

I was kinda disappointed. They didnt have alot of the items I went in there for so I ended up having to go to Walmart to get the rest of my groceries.

If you want the nostalgia of a late 80s A&P, this place is has that vibe. Decent prices.

They have baggers and these days thats awesome. I dont go to the big box stores any more for my weekly shopping.

I went to this store recently in the morning to shop and to get things from the Deli area. I came across a worker name Jordan m she was very rude and disrespectful to me after I told her she gave me the wrong meat in a nice manner but she still was rude and roll her eyes. I love this store but I wish she handled the situation in a well manner way.

I usually shop at the one in Hobart but Stracks in Hobart was out of stock and ran out my favorite from the deli area. So I came to this location Stracks recently and came across a rude service from a woman name Jordan in the Deli. After she served me salad I ask for slices of meat and she roll her eyes and got the meat out in a well mean manner way. Then she finally finished my meat and gave me my bag with the wrong receipt and the bag also had a broken zip so it wouldn’t zip. I asked for a new bag over the one she gave me and she just gave it to me didn’t bother to fixed for me. I said thank you and was kind after she served me and she still roll her eyes. Next time I come here I will not be going to the deli area.

A very clean store and is always well stocked. I am new to the area and, when I first moved here, it was the first time I had ever heard of this chain of stores. Being a long time Kroger shopper I can say that this one compares well to what I am accustomed.

Prices are high here and the store needs to be cleaned. The floors all need to be stripped and waxed.

This girl is super rude in the Deli And She sneeze all over the food and look around and act like nothing happened I wish I got her name but her name tag was backwards. Then I ask her to put gloves on which she wasn’t wearing and I ask for chicken and instead came home and check the bag to find seafood. Just wow.

Good friendly staff

The raspberries for 3.99 have fuzz on them. I didnt see anyone in the Veggie section to tell so I placed them out for people to see. They just seemed out of a lot or stopped carrying product they used to carry.

Strack and Van til had the calf liver l had looked for every place else. Love that store and their donuts are to die for

Certain things missing on the shelf

Went in later on a Wednesday night around 8:00 p.m. and it was very clean and stocked in there, so I was able to get everything I was looking for. There was a couple cashiers and the line wasnt too long and the girl was super friendly and polite.

Full service grocery store, always clean and Well Stocked. This is a company that cares about its customers. Lots of cashier lanes open, well-stocked and faced shelves, and plenty of employees to help you when you need it. They resurfaced parts of parking lot this summer and have plenty of Handicapped parking. Good bakery selection thats somewhat overpriced. Good fresh meat and excellent fish including sushi. Great deli with already cooked (and tasty) chicken, fish, and fries. Deli salads ok. Luncheon meats very good but prices are high when not on sale. The store has very good sales, tho, which bring prices down.Overall, this grocery store offers the best selection of pretty much everything and lots of little indicators that they value their customers ---which isnt a little thing by any means.

Clean well stocked full grocery store. The staff is efficient helpful and friendly. The only reason for 4 stars is many items seem overpriced compared to other stores in town.

Today bought cake mix and frosting which was at the front when u enter the store. Each box and frosting had a coupon taped on saying 1.00 off 2 frosting or 2 cake mix. When I got to the check out the cashier was very rude. Very unfriendly. She stated these coupons are outdated and threw them in the garbage. I stated they are taped on all them there. She said well you cant use them. Why are they taped on all cake mix and frosting? She refused to talk at that point. I didnt get her name her Id was backwards. But she was on register #3. I was there about 12pm 1230pm. Will not go to her lane again. Sad some people. An be so rude.
