Having ordered many Schoolhouse products over the last ten years, seeing the mothership in person finally happened. The store is beautiful, showcasing all products. It also has a lot of vintage goods and a cafe inside. The quality and craftsmanship of this company is top notch. Bike parking is a A + right in front.

Large showroom with beautiful midcentury modern furniture, lighting, decor, and hardware. We purchased the hardware for our newly renovated kitchen here and are so happy with the weight, comfort of use, and quality. I purchased samples of hardware from a lot of other shops and the Schoolhouse hardware was leaps and bounds higher in quality, modernity, and style. For larger quantities, youll likely need to place an order for hardware. I just stopped by twice and over the two visits was able to pick up everything I needed. They offer discounts to industry professionals. They also had a pretty decent sale on hardware (about six months after we purchased ours) so its worth it to sign up for e-mail alerts if you plan to purchase down the road. Their catalogs are beautiful. The prices are high, but for locally made, high-quality, stylish pieces, they are well worth it. As a side note - the coffee bar seems to be back up and running.

This place is the dream! If I could make my house a schoolhouse product I would. The pillows, the hardware, the throws. Everything is highest quality. And that isnt even mentioning the lighting. The people are amazing and helpful. We come here to get something every time we are in Portland. If we lived here, this place would drain us. I recommend this to anyone and everyone. They make a lot of their own products right here in Portland. Support this amazing local decor.

My fiancé and I absolutely love the home goods here! Weve previously only been on their website, so when we were planning a trip up to Portland we knew we had to stop here. The space is in an old industrial building with an open floor plan. The space has great light and its a great opportunity to see how certain products can be styled for inspiration. We ended up leaving with some new bedding that we fell in love with! Just wish the prices were a bit cheaper, but youre definitely paying for quality items here!

I got to go on a factory tour of the building and it was awesome seeing the behind the scenes of how most of their products are made on site. Their prices reflect their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and of course its made in the USA. Beautiful store, beautiful new cafe, awesome staff. 5 stars from me

Although it is obvious, this place is beautiful and carries beautiful items and I love coming here every time I visit Portland (I come here a few times a year from Minneapolis). What I think deserves a positive highlight is the amazing staff at the retail store! They are all so friendly, funny, and helpful and make this out-of-towner feel at home. I would especially like to give praise to Aleigh (ah, so sorry if I am spelling her name wrong)!I love this place and the people they hire!Cheers from Minneapolis.

Items are very expensive, but they are also very well made and of high quality. Its also the only store that sells online (and delivers internationally) that I can find which has the products that suit my taste, so I had to pay for it.In my personal experience, Schoolhouse has good after-sale customer service that handles shipment issues, this is very good for someone like me who lives outside of US. Something that got damaged (either during shipping or post-production) when it arrived at my home, and Schoolhouse took care of the issue very quickly and gave me very little hassle. The satin copper handles and knobs from SHE really add a level of class and elegance to my kitchen that meet my expectations.

I am shocked by people saying these are high quality products. Wires and fancy bulbs do not = quality. The last straw with them was not letting me exchange a overpriced candlestick for store credit because it was over 30 days.

Reused space in an older building is the perfect showroom for these high quality home goods. We have some of these fixtures in out house, and they are of the absolute highest quality. The staff at the showroom were helpful, and not at all pushy. I loved all of the arrangements of the pieces in here, it made me want to never leave.

We took an Uber to get to this slightly out of the way store. We werent disappointed. All of their lights, drawer pulls, posters and other decorator stuff is too cool. Go soon to see some wood panels they are going to install in their Pittsburgh shop. There is even a rad coffee shop.

What everyone is saying about lead time issues here and on yelp is true. Ordered my stuff which was quoted as 3-4 weeks lead time 5 weeks ago. At the 4 week point after receiving no tracking information I emailed them. The response I got back was something to the effect of we just go around to looking at your order and were missing pieces for it. Were a month behind schedule. Hmmmm, thats interesting. If youre that far behind schedule, then why are you quoting the wrong lead times. I go out to their website and look at the items I ordered -- website still showing 3-4 week lead times despite them telling me my order will be at LEAST 8. I send them the screenshot and their reaction is, sorry, well look into it. Theyre still say we hope youll have your order in another month. They wont even commit to it. How much do you want to bet I wait another 4 weeks and I get the same useless response?

I cant say good things about Schoolhouse Electric. I ordered a lamp and was told it would take 5 days. I assumed business days. The sales associate confirmed this with a manager. I paid the $600 for the one lamp and had the audacity of expecting an on time arrival.I called customer service after 10 business days (twice the allotted time) and was told to expect 4 weeks. Josh in customer service says he has no idea why I was told 5 days and that there wasnt much he could do... that MAYBE he could come up with a 10% discount. MAYBE?!?Is customer service dead these days? Is there no accountability. When im paying for your overpriced lamps in the amount of $600, MAYBE you should deliver on time.
