The first time I came here a long time ago it seems, it was raining. I was dressed for rain but not for spending three hours (three!) in the store. I was sweaty, a little uncomfortable, but I didn’t care, I was transfixed. It’s grown since then. As a non-profit, the goods are from donations, you never know what goodies you’ll find. I sometimes go in looking for something specific, hoping to find it, but usually I just see what there is to see. And if I don’t what I’m looking for, something finds me. It’s easy to feel inspired just looking at everything. I shop there about 3 times a month at least. Since it’s all creative re-use the prices are always a deal. GO THERE!

Lots of cool stuff here, things youll never find anywhere else. If youre looking for unique materials to use in creative projects, this is the place. I came today looking for specific colors of fabrics, and found exactly what I was looking for. I was also looking for beads, but there wasnt much selection. The inventory depends on whats donated. But its intriguing to see what they have, and worth the trip to visit the store.

This is a huge store with a massive variety of craft materials. Now if you have *specific* needs it’s going to be a lucky dip as it’s based on what is available. From a knitting, yarn craft perspective the yarns are limited and what is there is not in volumes that would be amenable to projects are its small stashes.Looking for odds and ends? This is your place.

There is a lot of neat and useful stuff in the store and the employees generally seem pretty nice. Ive been to another scrap/recycled items craft store similar to SCRAP and found them to be generally more useful for my projects. Granted the last one I went to was in Colorado Springs so it may not compare fairly.I got a few things that Im pretty happy about for pretty good prices, theres definitely some good deals here, especially if you like making wacky art out of trash and secondhand items. Printer paper here is much more affordable than buying new as well. The yarn selection is pretty dull and not a whole lot cheaper than Id find at sale in craft warehouse or Micheals, but I did find a few things I liked.I also purchased a surprise craft bag which I assumed would have items in it with instructions or something similar. Of course I could blame myself for not having asked what surprise entailed but I was pretty disappointed that I bought a bag of items I would find on my bedroom floor and toss while cleaning a depression mess. I wish there had been a little more info on the label. Perhaps I will find use for it and learn to be more creative with things I might otherwise find unusable; we shall see!I think this is a great place to go before running to another craft store, check it out see what you CAN find, but I wouldnt depend on it for an entire project.Regardless I appreciate the staff and volunteers that make SCRAP PDX possible and hope that SCRAP can continue to grow and serve crafters in pdx.

I cant say enough about this store. Its the most awesome, fun, funky, unique, crafty and handy store Ive ever had the fortune to shop in. I could come here every day and still never fully see everything that there is. Everyday brings in new items that are donated by a wide variety of sources, I dont know specifics but based on the eclectic array of stock Ive seen over the years, Id guess that the stuff comes from regular people and households as well as some businesses and schools. Whats so great is that here you can find things that are now obsolete, or rare random things that you never knew existed, Ive found so many handy gadgets here that Im so grateful to have because they just dont exist in a retail market anymore. I love the clever packets that they create by combining items of similar color or type and packaging them as either grab bags or kits....its handy and convenient to have certain packets already coordinated for you and the prices are exceptionally reasonable most of the time. You dont have to be a crafter to love this store because they have stuff like hardware, connectors, home repair elements, right now they have a big selection of tiles, and theres hard to find electrical stuff, just a mish mash of things. They also have a large section of office supplies...all items range from new or never used to vintage and one if a kind . They have all kinds of paints and related chemicals, both craft related and interior exterior paints...theres just truly so much stuff, I couldnt possibly list it all, if you have an imagination then the skys the limit to what all youd discover here ...calling it a craft store or saying that its a scrapbook heaven, or a sewers delight, or a book utopia, or a party supply source ...and the list goes on, would just be an insult to the wealth of treasures and goodies filling every nook and cranny of this amazing store.

I absolutely love this store!!! Any working artist or anyone interested in crafts should go to this second hand craft store. The prices couldnt be any better and the selection of types of mediums and objects that could be part of many different arts or crafts was outstanding. If you do any kind of art or craft go to this store. I recommend her delete that you take bags from other stores especially ones that have handles because you can use these yourself as you leave or donate some to the organization that runs the store. This place hits all of my heartstrings with extraordinarily affordable art supplies AND it is a non-profit organization. Also, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I wish them all the best!

Love this place. I always spend hours in here bc theres so much to look at. Conveniently located near a metro stop so its a quick walk from there. They have things youd never think of saving at home. I looked at a sheet of cork & put it down & dont you know a month later when I was making coasters I couldve used that. So now when Im drawn to something I just buy it & I may or may not use it soon but at least I have it. They have display projects that give good ideas & a craft room set side for kids days. No public bathroom though.
