We found this place while wandering during a train layover, and Im so glad we did. It was a cute and friendly shop and the bagels were delightful. Less dense than traditional bagels (the salt one I had bore a strong resemblance to a really good pretzel roll). The taste was spot on, and our family went away happy and with full bellies.
Being unfamiliar with pretzel style bagels, I was at first a bit off-put by the texture. I asked for toasted and the extremely soft texture made me worried that they had microwaved it. I dont think that they did though, it wasnt microwave hot. The flavor was great and at least temporarily won me over as I wolfed it down. I got an onion bagel with 3 onion cream cheese and it was $3.25. I wish the bagels were a little bigger. I prefer a chewier bagel but the mouth feel here was fine. Very soft, like a roll. Great onion flavor overall. I like that the onions on the bagel hadnt been nuked to black crisps. Theres a happy medium and these folks are a bit closer to it than Bernsteins IMO. The crust was soft, slightly greasy on the bottom. I wish it had a bit more resistance in the bite. Ill go back because I work close by and I dont always want Fullers. Unlikely I would go out of my way. Next time maybe Ill try the lox. It looked like they had several different options. Very expensive however.
I love bagels and Ive had a lot of good bagels, including in NYC and some that my friends from Montreal have shared with me. The bagels at Pop are hands down the best bagels Ive ever had and theyre far and beyond any other bagels. If you like soft bagels with incredible flavors, this is the place to go. The people who work there are super nice and they have a great selection of sandwiches. Their 6 bagel box with cream cheese is my go-to every time I drive by this place.
Excellent find for a quick breakfast run with our little one. The garlic thyme was delicious with lox, cucumber, cream cheese, fresh dill, capers and we added avocado...so delicious. Bagels so soft and chewy. We were impressed with our experience and new find.
They are extremely nice! Kind hearted and have legit made me change where I get my food every morning. So much love in the building!
The pretzel bagel is revelation to my bagel needs. I never knew I needed these but I cant...wont go back to regular bagels. It is a thing of beauty and I will say that if you havent had one please do your self a favor and give it a try. The consistency is remarkable and the smears they have are delicious.
This location has very good cream cheese bagels, and is a nice little cozy spot to get a quick lunch. The reason I rated it only four stars is because they were out of salmon 😂
Lives up to the hype! Ive been eagerly awaiting Pop Bagels arrival, after having been a loyal customer of Nuvrei for some time. These pretzel bagels are incredible. Beautifully soft on the inside, with a nice chew on the outside. Huge range of spreads.
Softest bagels around! Their orange juice is delicious also. Love this spot.
Hands down, no question! The best bagels in Portland, and quite possibly in the world! I’m a very seasoned foodie and have hunted tirelessly for great bagels and these are them!
Good bagels, but I ordered a plain bagel and got a pretzel bagel. I asked for baked egg sandwich as displayed in the case and was charged $5.50 for a bagel with a slice of cheese and 1 egg.
I finally got to eat a bagel! ...and 3 more later that week. They do not use any artificial ingredients and are sulfite allergy safe! They have a wide array of bagel selections and cream cheese flavors Ive never seen anywhere else. Good for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
Such rude staff. I drive for Uber and Lyft and needed to use the bathroom. Offered to buy the cheapest thing they have and I wanted just a water. She wouldn’t even sell me a regular water just to use the bathroom. The lady (brown longish hair not very clean) was very rude about the whole situation. Never had the food but definitely will not be coming back even to try the food. Customer service was horrible.
Great pretzel bagels! Would recommend the salt bagel or sunflower seed bagel.
Yum! Everything is delicious. Great spot to relax and eat or grab and go.
Bagels were good, I like a little more chewiness. Sandwich was really good, maybe because the bagel wasnt so chewy.
I came her with my wife, who loves bagels of all sorts. Her response was I think this might be the best bagel Ive ever had.
I dont know what they do to there bagels that is different than other bagel shops, but it is awesome. Great, perfectly sized bagels with a interesting selection of spreads.
So good! Soft pretzels type of feel, but will keep you full. Worth every penny!
I have been a fan of the owner chef Marius Pops food since if first tasted his pastry at a cafe I worked at in 2006. I like many I was sad when his cafe stopped making bagels but was very happy when the first Pop Bagel opened in the US bank tower. This location is way more convenient so when I find myself looking for lunch and a treat I stop by here for a bagel sandwich with kimchi cream cheese. The texture of the bagel and the traditional pretzel finish makes a bagel that is just a little lighter and not as heavy as a NYC boiled bagel. A few chefs i have known over the years have told me that the key to a great dish is to leave the person craving more and these bagels do just that. Sometimes with NYC bagels I feel like I have over done it and dont want another bagel for a while. This leads to my next point after lunch at Pop Bagel I alway stop by Nuvrei for a cup of coffee and a pastry
Good food, TERRIBLE HOURS!! if youre actually able to make it WHEN they decide to be open its amazing! Unfortunately they seem to change them on a whim to earlier and earlier.
Great bagels! Finally a great tasting bagel you can eat without ripping out your teeth.
The best turkey, lettuce, tomato 🍅, bacon 🥓 on everything bagel Ive ever had
Delicious bagel sandwiches. Wish they were open later.
PhenomenalLot of schmear, good selection of bagels, the staff are nice.Definitely worth a stop.
Terrible!!! Bagel didnt even taste like a bagel...im not ever going back!!! I give zero stars...but it wont let me....
Absolutely lovely spot to have a bagel and tea or coffee. The only drawback is there isnt a lot of seating, but I was kindly invited to sit down.
Top notch bagels. and excellent smoked/whitefish from Brooklyn !
Pop bagel was solid...not great! But plenty good enough for me, I enjoyed my bagel..
Interesting options. Good job guys
Great variety of fresh bagels & spreads served by friendly staff! Thanks for the snack!
Great bagels, and fast and friendly service in a nice atmosphere
Staff was friendly, and the boiled bagels and spreads were fantastic.
Staff goes beyond, ran my bagel out to the tram to save me from my tardiness. Deserves a massive thank you from me!
Meh, the bagels are good, but kinda small. And $2.50 for a 12 oz. can of soda is ridiculous.
5 star bagels 1 star bacon
Soooo very yummy!!
Its a gourmet bagel forsure, but its far to expensive to shop their
Treat yourself to the top bagel joint in Portland!
