One of my favorite local businesses in the area. Ben & his staff are always helpful, practical, and willing to share their honest opinion when asked- which I greatly appreciate.Our family has purchased a new kids bike, had Block Bikes build up a frame with new & used components, and purchased the occasional tube/flat repair kit/ random bolt/fenders etc along the way, and we couldn’t be happier with the way Block Bikes has kept our family pedaling along.

I had a bent wheel and some overall wiggles happening when I was riding. I made an appointment and was met with top notch service. Not only did he address the issues I was there for, but also took initiative to correct a few other issues he found, which has my bike feeling brand new! Their service costs are affordable as well. I will absolutely return for all future service and sales needs.

Man, Ive lived here for about 6 years, brought my bike to numerous places, no one has gotten my bike riding as well as these guys. I was legit wondering if I just was falling out of cycling, but nah, I think I just found a shop that actually cares. I went in for a tune up, they found some errors, fixed them and didnt gouge me on the price. They were faster than they said theyd be and did beyond an outstanding job. This thing hasnt rode this smooth since I had it overseas in Germany where it comes from. I actually had fun on my bike again, and turned a 5 mile commute into a 16 mile ride throughout the city on a rainy cold day. So thanks for that. Im telling anyone and everyone to head over your way.

What to say? Block Bikes has never been anything other than friendly, professional, and reasonably priced. You can get bike repairs, locks, helmets, and, of course, bikes here. For us, its been really amazing for repairs.

Ben and his mechanics have completely overhauled my bike as well as kept up the maintenance and replaced both the front and rear wheels over the last couple years. Yes, I rode the wheels off my bike, but they fixed it! Simply put, I trust Bens judgement more than my own. My bike has over 15,000 miles since I bought it in 2012 and the way things are going, it will probably last forever if I keep going to Block Bikes PDX.

Knowledgeable staff, very cool bikes. My experience there was they know their frames and components like the back of their hands, and were willing to work with and teach two bike newbs (my wife and I) about what we could alter on our new bike purchase. During COVID you cannot enter the store for safety, and this was alleviated by the mechanic/sales person bringing out tons of locks, baskets etc so that we could examine them in person. Thank you for all the help, we love the bike, and we cant wait to work with you again.

I have only good things to say about this shop. They have everything you need for successful riding and beyond that is their kindness. I am new to the world of bike commuting and felt pretty intimidated to get started. But after Greg helped me get my bike ready gear wise and Dylan helped me deal with my first flat while walking me through how to change it myself in the future, I feel empowered and excited to be a part of this community. Highly recommend this great bike shop.

You know you have found an excellent bike shop when you walk in and Judas Priest is blaring. Ben and Dylan were super helpful in ordering a bike for me that they didnt have in stock, letting me test ride 4 models to compare, and then doing free installation of extras I bought. What a great spot!

I LOVE THIS BIKE SHOP!!!!! I bought my dream bike on-line and needed a professional assembly. I called and they got me in and had the bike done in 2 HOURS!!!! I had to go in the next day to get help installing wheel lights and they were super quick with that too! Prices are super reasonable and they folks that work there are super friendly! THANK YOU!

Super friendly and helpful. They put together an itemized list of all the parts I would need to fix up my old bike so that I could budget accordingly and prioritize. I also compared their prices to what I could find online and theirs were as good or better than Amazon.

All staff was incredibly helpful, but Ben spent a lot of time with us explaining some of the ins and outs of starting to commute on bike. Not once did we feel rushed or that we were wasting his time as we had felt at other shops. Plus, we left with a couple of great bikes.

Ive been here just twice, but both times everyone was friendly, helpful, informative, and got the job done fast and cheap! They really know what theyre doing here and they seem passionate about keep you on your bike and happy to be so! Im always shocked at how easy going they are with cost when working on my old bike that I can barely maintain. I think anyone would be satisfied with their service! :)

This is my neighborhood bike shop. Block Bikes is literally a block away! Okay, a couple of blocks. Bens shop is on the Lewis & Clark trail in St. Johns, Portland, Oregon. Fun fact: William Clark bought a bike here while camping down by the Willamette. Okay, he didnt really, but heres something true: Ben and his crew are awesome and will do a great job of selling you a bike, fixing yours, or getting you some gear. They are great people and they CARE, dammit!

Would like to highly recommend this place! The staff is knowledgeable and made my bike good as new! Had to replace a few parts and they knew exactly where to source it and had the part shipped to the store. They went above and beyond, will definitely be coming back for tune ups!

These guys were super helpful. They gave my bike a great tune up and set me up with some new parts where I needed them (and some great, free advice). They can in a few dollars UNDER the quote they gave me which was awesome and definitely helped me figure out how to save some money. Would go back again!
