Got a flat a couple blocks away from this shop on one of the rare days I didn’t bring my own tools. Owner took care of me on the spot amidst what seemed like a hectic day for him. Very friendly and quick service. It’s rare I need to visit a shop for service but should I need to in the future I will be returning to Tomcat. Thanks!

Needed a tune up and repair of the shifters on my custom bike. He searched the internet for replacement parts, found, and installed new shifters and 10 cassette and chain. He contacted my bike manufacturer about an issue with the frame paint finish. An excellent job, quick turn around, reasonable price, and pleasant to work with.

Just got my bike! So happy, it was ready in 2 days (new but had basket/fender added). Tom is very nice and knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning for repairs as they come up. Cant believe I paid as much as people spend on a car payment yet it is all mine. Yay! Thanks, Tom.

Just took my Betty Draper to TomCat Bikes for a tune-up, safety check et. al. Like Everyone else, I am pulling my bike out of the garage and dusting it off to exercise outside being a T1D during the pandemic summer. Tom had the bike done in record time given the high demand for bike repair. Tom is one a one-man show, knowledgeable mechanic, and soooooo down to earth. There is no pretension for the below-average rider like me (heh). Betty is pink, and he even put fabulous new pink pedals on her. Tom also helped me pick out a bike rack so I can take my bike to local car trips in Oregon. I also love Tom caters to all types of riders. You should check him out if you need a bike to tool around town in or just a tune-up. There is a bike shop on every corner like Starbucks in PDX, but he truly is a gem. I am grateful, you will be too.

Tom was super helpful! He answered all my questions. I was looking at another bike and he explained all the ways they were different. I ordered a basket and some fenders and he didnt try to get me to buy the most expensive thing. I wasnt able to take the bike home that day so he let me keep it there until I was able to pick it up. Great experience! Love my Lowry!

I am an enthusiastic cyclist (in town for transportation, and mountain biking for fun) and trust TomCat implicitly. He has always done outstanding work on my bikes, with short turn around time and low prices. My favorite TomCat story starts like so many: This one time, at Burning Man... I managed to completely destroy the hanger on my rear derailleur. Being without a bike on the playa is a miserable situation, and I was heartbroken. Without proper replacement parts and an abbreviated set of tools, TomCat was able to craft a solution that allowed me to keep riding and saved by virgin burn. The man is a wizard!

Bought a used bike here this past weekend. This was my first stop in Portland when I first started shopping the week before. The owner, Tom, couldnt have been more helpful; super friendly and answered all my newbie bike questions. When I came in this past weekend to take a second look at the bike I was interested in, Matt helped me out with some additional questions and that guy couldnt have been more helpful and friendly either! This place was truly a great experience and I highly recommend checking them out, whether for their bike offerings, or repairs.

Wow! Wow! WOW! I took my bike at 10 am and it was done by 2pm. Fixed. No Upsells. Balanced advice about options for equipment all with an apparent passion for the work and the equipment. Now I am looking around my garage to see what else I can bring them to fix. I only wish the person who worked on my car was this good.

Great work doing some routine maintenance on my bike. The owner was very knowledgeable and down to earth and even suggested some things I could do on my own. I only use my bike for the occasional commuting and have no interest in becoming super into bikes, so it was nice to work with someone who didnt feel it necessary to hassle me or make me feel like a dumb ass just because I wasnt as into bikes as they thought I should be.

Awesome!!! He repaired my bike after I got hit by a truck, dealt with the awful insurance company AND made time to be a real down-to-earth person in between check-ins. My new/old bike rides great, and as a big guy, I appreciate the adjustments he made for me on a commuter bike. Couldnt recommend WTF Bikes enough, best shop in Portland, hands down.

Tom, who runs this shop, is a truly awesome guy who sincerely cares about finding you a two wheeled machine that is ideal for the kind of biking you want to do. I went into their shop with limited biking experience looking for a new ride to replace my old road bike. The first thing I loved is rather than trying to sell me the first bike he had Tom started by talking at great lengths at what to avoid when looking for a new bike. I ended up purchasing a Detroit Bikes Model A from them, which by the way is the coolest new bike company in America. Entirely made in the USA and WTF Bikes is the only shop in Portland to sell them. They have also given me great advice on setups of other bikes I have brought in. Bottom line is these guys live and breath bicycles and are a great resource while also being entirely accommodating to a novice with very limited knowledge (aka me). Without naming names, I have been to a few bike shops in Portland that immediately made me feel like an idiot for not knowing anything. It was such a breath of fresh air to walk into this store. I could not recommend them more.

Being a creature of habit, I have spent more than 4 years investing in bikes that werent exactly what I needed. I always compromised and never really knew how to find what would work best for me.And then I met Tom at WTFbikes. He helped me figure out what my needs were within what I was capable of investing. Then, he introduced me to Piper, my new sexy red Fuji bike. I am thankful to say my miserable bike commuting days are over. No longer is bike commuting a chore. She is fun, yet practical, and I look forward to spending lots of time with her.I couldnt believe how easy the whole process was. Tom was super knowledgeable, knew how to work within my budget, and found me the perfect bike. I look forward to going back to WTFbikes for any future biking needs I may have. Thanks Tom! Thanks WTFbikes!

I hated the handlebars I put on, needed a new chain, brakes, and a tune-up. Never have I been so pleased from a shop for what I spent. My bike rides great, replacement handlebars are much more comfortable, and he even maintained my visual aesthetics without requesting it by replacing my white handlebar tape with white grips. Even swapped out my wonky brake bracket which didnt work properly with the rim and forks that a different shop used to replaced mine which had bent. So, he even caught a screwup from another shop - which I greatly appreciate.Hes a small shop, so dont expect him to have a huge stock of every part imaginable. But you get to support a locally owned, and owner-run business.Edit: Drove from La Center, WA for the repairs and the 1.5hr drive was worth it.
