This place is AWESOME! And the sweet woman that may have saved my cannabis crop thanks to her being the ONLY shop in town that had live ladybug was awesome! Love this little nursery! I feel like a kid in a candy store when I visit - they have a great variety of indoor and outdoor plants and a surprising selection of pots. Ive found some unique, beautiful pots here from local makers. I love that they focus on sourcing locally and are women/black-owned. This is a business to support and keep in the community!

They always treat me with respect. My plants are always healthy. Great hours of operation and the staff is the best out of all nurseries!

Wonderful customer service. I called ahead to ask about the plants I desired. They had them at a lower then expected price. The only drawback is the on street parking. We will be returning here for some of our other planting desires.

Great selection of houseplants and outdoor plants. The owners are very knowledgeable, and always willing to help. Theyve adjusted their layout to keep evening everyone safe during the pandemic. They also donate frequently to local organizations to better the community.

I just stopped into this shop to get something for my wife on Valentines Day. The employee I encountered was super helpful and custom made me a terrarium with succulents. And the prices were fantastic! We will definitely be back for any of our succulent needs.

I absolutely love this business. The prices are really very reasonable, the plant and planter selection is diverse and beautiful, and even through COVID they have managed to create an accessible and affordable shopping experience. Everyone deserves to have plants at home and Birds & Bees is a great place to get plant babies.

Absolute best customer service in Portland! Despite the chaos created by the global pandemic, Amanda and Birds & Bees Nursery have wowed me again and again. Despite being overwhelmed by demand for plant starts, they called me back within 24 hours every time. They were able to get me all the starts I needed, and delivered to my porch for free! Thanks to them, I will have a thriving garden this year.

I’ve been shopping here since they first opened on Gladstone years ago. Super friendly people and a surprisingly large selection for the space that they occupy. Never been disappointed. Just the fact that it is a locally women-owned business makes it the bees knees.

Love the new location - theyve got a bit of room to grow now, and a really lovely outdoor plant area all around the store. I always get incredibly friendly, helpful service here. My black thumb has graduated to a greenish, brownish one (for example, almost all of my airplants are making babies!). Looking forward to prepping my yard for winter/spring with help from B&B!

This shop has very fun and unique products, but the woman working today dampened our visit. She didn’t say a word to us, not even a “hello,” until my mom bumped a hanging planter... she just stood behind the counter staring at my mom until I rushed over to make sure my mom wasn’t hurt. She came out from behind the counter just long enough to snatch the planter from me and hang it back in the weird spot it had come from. My mom had received a gift certificate for her birthday so she quickly chose a few planter pots so we could get out of there. They have such cute stuff, but we don’t feel comfortable going back. 😕

Went in to see if we could get a couple of plants for our apartment, and the staff member who was working was super helpful. She was glad to answer all of our questions, and was generally super helpful. Wonderful shop!PS Also plenty of carniverous plants, which I am a nerd for.

Wonderful nursery! All the plants and small trees seemed super happy and were wonderfully displayed. This is not a large nursery like some of the others in Portland, but I found exactly what I was looking for - a monstera plant and a beautiful ceylon ceramic pot to boot! Also had several beautiful fig trees and terrarium supplies. Will be back!

Fantastic little garden shop -- kind of the garden equivalent of a small-town bookstore. Its not a giant place, but it has everything you probably need and it has a few unique extras too (like a succulent terrarium-making station, in case you forgot this was Portland).

Not a big place but they do have a bit of selections & got my peace lily there today. The staff was able to answer my questions. Too bad the sale only applies to annual and seasonals outside.

Every time I visit the team at Birds & Bees Nursery, I am met with a smile and a desire to help me make the best choices possible about the plants I get and how to take care of them. They have helped me think through what ways to strategize better in my garden, the ways to help plants “heal” from various missteps I may have made and more. I have increased my confidence in plant care and never feel dumb when I ask a question! I also love the different workshops they have! I just spent $150 here and the woman never smiled once. I asked if there was a back-stock area, where they had more plants than were in the store, and she told me there wasnt. When I walked to the back, there was an entire area that I hadnt seen, and I found what I was looking for. She seemed annoyed with every question. Ive been there before and she wasnt friendly, but this one took the cake. Ill never go back.
