I have a foster kitten recovering from a broken hip and a broken leg. She stopped eating after a few days and did not like the foods I was trying.I came to Pets on Broadway and they took great care of me. They gave me the perfect food for her and she’s been eating so well she’s getting stronger every day! Here’s a photo of her after having dinner. As you can see, she loves the food. Was super stoked to find an entire wall of items suitable for my bun-buns. Was a little turned off that no one asked if I needed help finding anything, but it was quite busy so Im not holding it against them. When I did convey to the cashier I was looking for cage cleaner she didnt confirm if they normally carried it (I did ask directly) and offered, a few times, to order it for me. Being my first visit to the store, I declined for now. Otherwise, the store was clean, well stocked, great energy & vibe in the store. Will certainly be going back to get special toys and activities for my baby-boy-bun (hes now solo since the pic), hell need lots to keep him busy & out of trouble.

This is the only pet store I support. They take good care of their animals while also keeping great prices and wide variety of products. They have beautiful displays of their creatures and employees understand the care for said creatures. It is truly the only store that cares for live animals properly. Its the only pet store I feel comfortable shopping from for that reason. I love it here, I cannot recommend this store enough. Absolutely lovely.

These guys are well stocked and taking COVID very seriously. I came in on Friday (in the midst of Portlands Feb 2021 snow storm) to grab booties for my dog and some treats to incentivize the wearing of said booties. Pets on Broadway was open, warm, incredibly well stocked with a range of options when it came to booties (as well as many other items it seems), and staff were very helpful with showing me what was on offer. I appreciated the various price levels available, and how well they are managing social distance practices (especially when it came to the low-touch payment process). Ill be back here for sure and would recommend this store as a one-stop shop for most pet needs!

Staff are friendly and helpful. Inventory selection is similar to what I see online, including pricing. For the heavier products, I think this store is a bit more competitive since some online retailers charge extra for heavy products moving through order fulfillment.

Great little pet store with really good, personable staff that knows their stuff. They deal with reptiles and snakes which is wonderful. To many pet stores dont want to mess with anything other than dogs or cats in this area. I highly recommend Pets on Broadway for the love of your pet.

One of the best pet stores I ever been in! Very friendly and patient staff. Big space, even bigger selection. They sell things I cant even find anywhere else in any regular pet shop town! Accommodates wide variety of pets.Gave stickers to my 4yr old daughter who was being an absolute pain that day 🥰 and even waited for me to get my tags made well after closing time! Made sure I had everything I needed and even offered me advice on items theyd be getting in the near future in case I decided if rather go with that and wait to purchase the current item I had settled for. 🙂👍Only Minor complaint(more like friendly critical comment😘) is that I wish their tag maker machine was a bit more sophisticated and was easier to navigate/carved better looking font on the tags/had more customizable settings/etc... 😋Other than that tid bit- this place is mad bodacious, my animal lovin dudes and babes. ✌️😋🐾🐕🐈🐁🐍🐇🦎🐒🦨🐓🐣🐦🦜🦔🐢🐠🐟🐚🐌🐊🦂🕷️🐛🦗🐜🐾

Every time I come here it’s a great time! The employees are very knowledgeable and so helpful! I usually go there to get new fish and plants for my fresh water tank and leave the store in a better mood than when I arrived which is a hard thing to accomplish in the grumpy world of capitalism. Come here time to time to get cat food, lizard food, and fish everything.wanna give them a 5, but have to be 4 because they get so busy with customers that the staff can only handle so many people. My last visit was good. We have been coming here for abiut 10 years, but lately we can not seem to get assistance-the only person who knows fish is on lunch, etc. Becoming a bit too chichi. Get better customer service at the large pet supply stores.

I forgot for sure but I think it was Dawn who helped my family get ready for a new kitten coming home soon!!!! All the staff is wonderful, but on this day I had a huge order and my partner left me with cash but forgot to hand over the card! So patiently, the cashier made the order match my cash and offered to set aside the other items for pick up! I did not take them up because I obviously disorganized, but we can walk to this store and now we feel like it’s our neighborhood pet go to place!!! Probably the best pet store in Portland as far as selection goes. Staff is super helpful and very friendly. I love the loyalty program, you can get some good discounts if you shop here frequently!

I have pet rats and they have a large selection of small rodent stuff, and also a lot of the bird toys are good for rats too. Lots of healthy treats to pick from. I especially love the hay huts and mats. Not the least expensive place but I feel better not giving my money to Bezoselbub.

This place always has what I need and more. Its not like most pet stores where is might as well just be about dogs. They make sure to provide supplies, food, decor, toys, treats for just about any type of critter you call a pet.

This is a lovely place. They have items places like Petco dont have and their service is exemplary.

This is an amazing store! The people are so knowledgeable and helpful, it makes it clear where to shop for any pets while in Portland. The hours are also amazing, and when you need some pet supplies sometimes you need them ASAP! Most of the food and litter also has a free coupon for every dozen purchased. So thats around an 8% discount for continuing shoppers!

This is a really good pet store. They support the adoption programs from local animal shelters. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They even sell many local products, including pet food and treats. It is definitely worth a visit.

Pets on Broadway isnt close to me, or convenient in any way, but its the pet store I choose. I deeply appreciate employees, and the ethos of this place. They have an excellent and ethical selection for all types of pets. Having a rabbit, snake, and cat to shop for, its great to know Im getting the best for them all in one place.

Wow. Im not sure why I ever went to Petco. I just went for mealworms and was surprised to see springtail and isopod cultures, roaches, and of course crickets. They even have fish! A few days ago the last Petco i went to didnt have any fish so instead of driving from Petco to Petco to find fish I decided to check out a local fish store option. I will leave that stores name a secret so youll have to explore local fish stores on your own, this is supposed to be about Pets on Broadway but Ill give you a hint. It is also in Portland Metro, a block away from a Saturday Market which you should also check out. Support your local businesses!!Anyways, back to Pets on Broadway! I glanced at their fish and they had a nice healthy looking variety but I was only there for mealworms this time. They didnt have nearly as much fish as the other LFS I went to on Saturday but Pets on Broadway is not a fish store. Its a petS store so they have a little of everything kinda like Petco but with a nice local feel and not that cold corporate feel. I didnt check anything else out because I dont really need anything else at the moment but the guy ahead of me was buying a bag of Canidae dog food, if you happen to be wondering of they carry that. They also had an impressive display of vivarium or terrariums that I glanced at. Thats something I may be interested in, in the near future. Im just not sure my pet black widow would like a humid habitat. I have a lot more research to do before I get into that.

I have a 5yr old male ball python that got out of his atrium and was missing for a week..I came into this store desperate for some advice, thinking Id buy a couple feed rats and a couple small cages, in an effort to try and lure Jake the snake out of hiding. I shared this idea with a lady who works here, and instead of making a sell on some merchandise, she suggested that I use some of the feed rats bedding, absolutely worked and I got him back that very night..and it didnt cost me a dime...because of this, I will always shop at this store..thx P.O.B!

Im not sure if you understand my concern. I shop alone, so I am not affected by one adult per group. However Id prefer not to enter a store with that policy, because if theres a ten person limit and one adult per group, you are increasing the number of different households that can occupy the building at the same time. It is extremely, extremely safer to allow a group of ten who already know one another than have ten different families send in one parent each.

As we try to return to normalacy pets on broadway would rather live in fear and mandate masks. what i look forward into my shopping expierence is comfortability and customer service. being forced to wear a mask when its not needed is the reason why they lost my business. there are other local business that dont require masks and i urge people to shop elsewhere so we can continue to make progress and lose the mask.

Very friendly and informative staff. Rehoming a rescue dog and needed to find some supplies for her odd shape. They helped me size her for a harness and collar and also recommended some great OTC foods. Apparently they only give discounts to local business owners. It would be great if they gave a professional veterinary discount like many of the other pet stores around.

My goodness I was shocked when they told me the cost of my gold fish. A fan tail gold fish runs ya $7.25 here :O for a $2 dollar goldfish. I wonder how much the bettas cost...hmmmI know where I WONT be going to get my fish ! The mark up is waaay too high for absolutlely no reason. The fish are not extinct. Im still in shock over the mark up over a fancy carp !

This Pet store is an old reliable friend that can be trusted to ensure the safety of its on-site pets and customers. My first visit since quarantine started scored me some beautiful fish for my tank I was desperately missing.

This is a locally owned pet store. They can order pretty much anything you need if you cant find it on the shelves. It will arrive in about a week most of the time.In addition to a wide array of cat, dog, small mammal and reptile food, there is a large cat tree and non-toxic plant selection.Covid procedures here are fairly good. Employees ask that only one adult shop per party, carts are disinfected between customers, and social distance is strictly enforced. Its also wheelchair friendly.

I wait in line at customer service to ask for a feeder animal and they call someone and I scoot aside to wait for assistance that never comes.

I used to really love coming here but the last few visits have left me extremely uncomfortable. My roommate and i were about to walk in (it was around 7:30ish, they close at 8) and we were stopped at the door. We were asked if we were both shopping for pets. We explained that we lived together and have two cats at home. The guy still asked us if both cats belong to just one of us or both of us. I tried to explain that they were originally my cats but now they are both of ours and we would like to shop together to make decisions on their food. The guy told us only one of us was allowed to come in and the other person had to wait in our car. We didn’t have a car and my roommate is female and gets anxiety waiting outside in the dark at night (outside their store is not lit well). I told them that we would really like to shop together since we share the expensive and decisions on them now. He still said no.I really didn’t understand why. I don’t think its really polite to keep questioning your customers after they already explained why they want to come in. No customer should have explain that. It made us both feel really weird and unwelcome.I get it they are trying to limit store capacity, but once i got in there by myself, there were only two other people in the store who appeared to be a couple and they were shopping together. So why were we questioned at the door and one of us denied entry and that couple in the store wasn’t? I have also been in since and have seen couples of people shopping together as well. I don’t know why they treated us differently.Also, no one ever says hi to you when you come or offers to help. I have been going here for about a year and no associate has ever spoken to me besides questioning me outside to why i’m here and when checking me out. I hate to say it but this store kind of carries the vibe of you have to privilege to shop here and look a certain way in order to be treated right. I really wish they would improve on that.

I shopped here for the first time recently as I now travel in closer proximity to this shop than the one Ive been using... the service was friendly enough... but I was disappointed that my corn snake refused all 3 of the frozen rats I purchased there. maybe hes being picky? (maybe its like the difference between Burger King and Burgerville??) Either way, I felt like my purchase was a waste of time and money as Ive never had my snake refuse 3 feedings in a row.

Ive been shopping here for almost 15 years. The owner is awesome. The staff is always super helpful and knowledgeable. The pet food, toys, accessories are plentiful. Always a good option to be found for your pets needs.For instance, we started feeding our cats a food they loved. Unfortunately, demand wasnt enough so they discontinued it in store, but have been special ordering it for us for almost 3 years.Another example of their awesome service: I just had my second child 3 months ago ( during a global pandemic - great huh? ). They have not only allowed for purchases made over the phone or online, but they will also bring it out to my car for me. Parking there is interesting, and not always convenient. But that has never stopped them from helping me out with several bags of dog food / cat food.

So much live for Pets on Broadway. Our kitty really had a rough Monday and they helped me get all his food just before they closed. Super nice place & amazing people!

This place is incredible! I am super impressed by the variety of high quality foods they have here, for all species. The store is sectioned out well so all the critters have their dedicated space. Everything is well kept and organized and its easy to move around. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can also order online and pick up in store, which is awesome!

Edit 1/13/20:Wonderful and safe covid restrictions. Great to see the business taking restrictions so seriously. Maximum of ten customers in the store at once, as well as a maximum of one person per group: get a shopping list from your friends/family and get in and get out, or take advantage of their curbside pickup service.

Caring and helpful staff that will guide you through a great selection. They carry all types of high quality food, among many other useful items. They also have a great customer rewards program for discounts on things you buy regularly. Im a loyal customer and get all my cat supplies here.

I wouldnt waste my time with this place. My partner and I went to get a brush for our dog. It was meant to be a quick trip (run in, run out). We arrived to discover that the store is not allowing more than one person per party into the store. They are taking this policy so far as to not allow two people in line into the store at the same time if they know each other (l specifically asked this question and was told this was the case). My partner and I will take our discretionary income to a store with more sensible policies.****The policy is not sensible because, whether two people know each other or are together, it does not lower the covid risk if the same number of people are in the store. The policys practical effect is to maximize efficiency and minimize excess browsing. This goal could easily be accomplished with other policies that dont interfere with normal, socially accepted shopping habits that are perfectly safe.
