Brides for a Cause provided a great wedding dress experience for me! The variety of dresses helped me decide the style I wanted and I actually came across my perfect dress! They allowed me to hold the dress for 24 hours while I made my decision and I couldnt pass up the dress especially for the price. The staff was very helpful and also provided me with a list of seamstresses. I highly recommend!!
I found my perfect dress at Brides for a cause in Portland! Two former brides recommended this place to me and now Ill be recommending this company going forward for all new brides I meet. Youll find TONS of dresses organized by size. Im 51 and 140 lbs. I was told to go up a size for bridal dress than my normal pant size which would put me at a size 8 wedding dress. I actually fit perfectly into my size 6 dress and need the shoulders to be taken in 3 lunches as it was loose. My button loops will need to be replaced on the back of the dress. The rest of my dress was in perfect shape!! No holes, nothing missing, no stains. The manager helped me find a place to get all these items altered. My dress retails for $3600 yet I bought it for $500. It is about 4 years old. I highly recommend checking out their dresses and giving back to domestic abuse survivors at the same time!
I started my wedding dress shopping experience at Brides for a Cause to ease myself in, not expecting to find anything I loved right away. And what do you know, I came home with not one, but TWO absolutely gorgeous and unique dresses for an incredible price! I was amazed at the diversity of options. The team was very sweet and supportive, but also did not hover like they might at a store where they are trying to get your money. It felt great to choose a sustainable option for my dress, while supporting charities. Not to mention, saving money! I looked up the dress I purchased (a never worn before sample) after getting home and I would have never been able to afford it at retail. You just leave feeling good all around from here!
I got my wedding dress in 2019 from this store. I LOVE their mission (and the relief on my wallet). I’ll be donating my dress back to them, just haven’t been to Portland since the pandemic. The store is lovely and I personally loved the “help yourself” approach (although the attendants were more than happy to help me button up and tighten dresses). My mom lives on the east coast so I decided to shop alone and the other moms in the store “adopted” me and were so kind. My dress was a sample from one of the BHLDN stores. Only had 1 button missing and that was easy to fix!
I began my dress search at Brides for a Cause and could not have been more pleased with my experience. What was really cool about this experience was that my family and I had a lot of freedom in picking out all the dresses and taking our time with the appointments. The staff were also very helpful and kind, pulling dresses for me and suggesting styles, they were very attentive and flexible.
Made an appointment last minute after learning about this place from a post on Reddit right before I was in the area for vacation. I have never been dress shopping so I dont really know what its supposed to be like, but I did enjoy this experience. I tried on about ten dresses (they allow 15 for the hour appointment) and ended up picking up one. I happened to be within the 50% off sale for August, got an absolutely beautiful dress for $250, a dress that retailed for well over $1200. I love the mission of this place, and the frugal bride in me also loved that I was able to give new life to a dress meant to be worn just once. For the prices alone, I recommend this place but it was very organized by size and easy to search through. I assume their inventory is always varying so I imagine going a few times might not be a bad idea if you live nearby. I grabbed my chosen one, and look forward to finding something near me to recycle the dress when I am done loving it.
Another beautiful dress and happy bride! I am a wedding photographer and after 15+ years in the business I have heard many amazing things about Brides for a Cause! And I am always excited to photograph one of their dresses, not only do I know my bride had a great experience shopping, but also supporting a great cause! I often suggestions couples check them out after our meetings because they are right in the neighborhood! I would highly recommend this bridal shop!
Brides for a Cause was incredible! I ended up finding my dress here after going to 4 other bridal shops (including other consignment-based shops). They had an amazing selection and everything was extremely reasonably priced. I couldn’t recommend it more!
I had such a great experience at this store! I loved being able to look through all the gowns myself and so did my mom and friends! I could not believe how good the prices were either! Although I ended up finding my dream dress somewhere else I would recommend this place to anyone!
The staff were friendly and very helpful when picking a dress out for my sister. The dresses were gorgeous and the atmosphere was pleasant. I highly recommend this place.
I went to BFAC as part of the Brides Across America program to buy my dress. It was an amazing experience! I tried on about 12 dresses and as soon as I put on dress #12 I knew it was the one! The staff was so helpful and kind and they were always right there ready to take dresses back to the fitting room to go try on. They were extremely encouraging and gave compliments on every dress truly making you feel super important and cared for! Overall, the experience was absolutely amazing and I would recommend to anybody looking to find that perfect dress!
I’m not sure why a bride would want to get a dress anywhere else! Great selection, variety and sizes. Will recommend to every bride I know. Bargain dresses and many of them are samples and never worn before. If you don’t find something the first time go back in a month or so their selection is always changing.
I had a great experience and found my dress, for 70% off retail! It is limited since all dresses are donated samples or worn once, but they even had accessories. I could see how this wouldnt be the right experience for everyone but I felt I got lucky. Love the idea of a business giving back in an industry swamped with consumerism.
I had a very wonderful experience at this store. The atmosphere was so laidback but they were there every step of the way to help if needed. I ended up buying my wedding dress here and couldn’t have been happier with the overall experience.
Had an amazing experience at Portlands brides for a cause. Helpful staff, great dress selection, and amazing prices. Thank you!!
Honestly hated shopping anywhere that wasnt this place. I went to all three Brides for a Cause in the PNW to shop. I loved that they were hands off but checked in, allowed me to not feel any pressure to buy a dress and get a feel for myself if I liked it. The shop is set up easy to look through the dresses and the prices you cant beat. I also love that it helps other people to shop through them. I can not wait to wear my dress!
Had a wonderful experience - store was well organized, staff was delightful, and I got a beautiful dress at an unbelievable price.
Fantastic prices and a better selection of different dresses than most mainstream bridal shops. Got my dress for 1/4 the price I would have paid anywhere else.
Love this place so much! I found my dream dress for a steal! Amazing selection and great layout for viewing all the dresses. The staff was so nice and helpful! Didn’t feel pressured in anyway like other places do. I will definitely recommend Brides for a Cause to everyone now!
Very helpful and nice! Bought my dress and my sisters dress from here. They were both samples and definitely got a deal!
This place was wonderful. The staff was so helpful, knowledgeable on dresses and how to put them together to make you feel beautiful, patient I didnt feel rushed and well organized. I highly recommend this place if you dont want to spend a lot of money on a wedding dress and thank you to all the ladies who donated their dresses.
If you are looking for a good price AND a good cause (not to mention opting for more sustainable choices for your wedding), give this place a chance! The staff is incredibly helpful, enthusiastic, and friendly. There were a surprisingly large number of dresses I wanted to try on that fit what I was looking for. After trying on a few dresses that I chose myself, they started bringing dresses to me! Not only did they they catch on quickly to what I was looking for, they even grabbed a few that I wouldnt have pulled myself and they were actually amazing! I walked out the door with an incredible dress (brought to me by the staff member who helped me) and I am so grateful for her help (I wish I knew her name so I could give her a shout-out! If you helped me buy the Wtoo Delphinia/Dixie on 4/24 THANK YOU!).
They are so nice and helpful. I found some great gems here!❤
I didn’t think I would find a dress here, but I was happily surprised. I’m getting married within a month of getting engaged so I was worried I wouldn’t have very many options. The staff was very nice & was appropriately social distancing for Covid-19. I asked them to put the dress on hold & they were able to for 24 hours, tho I ended going back & getting it that same day. I feel like I got a very fair priced dress which would normally be sold for 3x the amount it I snagged it for. Also get to feel good because they’re a charitable organization.
My mindset walking in was just to have a fun and relaxing time with my sister with not a high expection to find “the one”. Little did I know the first dress I tried on had become “my one”! Of course being myself, I had to try on other dresses. The ladies were very attentive and told me not to rush and even tried to pull a few to be helpful! With one final try on the first became my last! I came out with a retail dress of $2,998.00 their price being $400.00 but 50% off of that I paid only $210.00($10.00 for the garment bag)!! God Blessed me that is for sure!Thank you Brides for a Cause!God Bless you and your organization 🙏🏻!
I found a beautiful wedding dress that was affordable. It was easy to schedule an appointment online and the staff were all very nice and helpful. They will hold a dress for you for 24 hours which is great. I plan on donating my dress back to them. I love that this money goes to charity!
Before you go to any other bridal store, COME HERE. In my hour slot that I had, I found my dream dress for only...wait for it...$250!!!! And they provide you with a list of alterations places in the area that they recommend. Thank you so much Brides for a Cause!
I bought my dress virtually from Brides for a Cause, so I can’t review the physical store experience. I bought my dress from their virtual dress dash January 2021. The dress list was released a few days prior to I was able to look up what each of the dresses looked like, they had the measurements according to the designer listed as well. On Facebook live, they went through each dress which was assigned a number. You commented sold # __ and the first comment got the free. It was an overall really good experience and there weren’t any issues during the virtual sale. My dress was shipped to me for $30 and arrived about a week later. It was placed in a garment bag and carefully placed into a box. It was a bit of a gamble buying a dress online but for such a low price point I was willing to risk it. Upon reviewing my dress all the anxiety of disliking it in person went away! I would definitely recommend participating in any of their virtual sales!
Very friendly staff. Helpful and kind.
I HIGHLY recommend coming here to buy your wedding dress (and veil!). Not only are the prices affordable, but they have a surprisingly great selection with a number of different styles organized by size. It was really nice to be able to pick out and try a number of dresses on by myself without feeling pressured by a salesperson. The staff there was all super helpful in answering all of the questions I had. They made shopping for a dress into a great experience for someone who normally hates shopping!
Absolutely love the idea and concept behind Brides for a Cause! The store has so many dresses, I couldnt believe the selection they had! To be honest I went to a different consignment shop that was organized a bit better and the shopping experience was a bit smoother but I still loved Brides for a Cause and still recommend checking them out for sure! Here you dont have much assistance from a stylist at all. You have 1 hour to pick out and try on 10 dresses without help choosing or clamping. They have the dresses organized by size but thats about it, making it a little harder to narrow down which ones youd like to try. There was another bride shopping in the store with me but the shop is big, we were easily out of each others way. Loved the you can hold a dress for 24 hours and that the inventory is always changing so you can keep checking back!
This place is rad. The selection of gowns is very current and modern. Lots of options to choose from and so, so affordable! Shopping in Covid times is a littler weird, but the staff were very friendly without being pushy. Will totally recommend it to others.
I loved everything about my experience at Brides for a Cause. They have an amazing selection of dresses and some of them have never even been worn! They are very mindful of Covid and made the process super easy. I was able to try on 10 dresses in my 1 hour appointment and that was more than enough. The wedding industry is so consumerist that it feels great to buy a dress for a good cause, especially when most people only will wear theirs once!
Let me start by saying I DID PURCHASE MY DRESS FROM HERE! It is my dream dress, needed a little love because it’s obviously used, but I indeed found a dress. ♥️ The team there was welcoming, very sweet and professional. Parking was easy, and the store was not hard to locate. The dress selection for size 12 was a 10/10! Very beautiful selection and quite large. ♥️(Ugh I never really leave reviews but this one is a must)With that being said, I am giving a 3 star for the over all experience I had here... I was given 1 hour to pick from the rack, carry the dresses from the rack to my dressing room. Might not seem like the worse thinking about it but after taking on and off several dresses on your own, you get very hot and sweaty. It becomes overwhelming, not fun and too a point a chore like I’m here I must get it done.I felt rushed, like I was shopping with my fiancé at Ross and he’s just waiting for me to pick something so we can go.Why can’t your employees help more? There were many there. I understand we need to distant our selves but I literally touched every size 12 dress you had their that day and I’m sure all the other brides did as well. You could limit the exposure and be able to clean and sanitize the go back rack if you allow your employees to help.I was very shocked that I had to ask to be clipped or zipped up. My mother has COPD and excessive movement (even the smallest bit) makes her tired and wheezy so if she could she would have gotten up multiple times to help zip me or clip me in, but unfortunately she can’t so asking multiple times, and waiting tell someone walked by that could help was frustrating.Brides For A Cause, you are doing remarkably amazing things for the community! I commend you for that. Please take this low rating and do something with it when you read this. Brides shouldn’t have to do all of that on their own. Covid or not, it was exhausting. The experience is important to EVERY BRIDE. Dress shopping is probably third best part about weddings.
I had a wonderful experience at Brides for a Cause. Because of COVID, weve decided to elope, but I still wanted to find the perfect dress! BFAC was very accommodating and I felt safe in the studio browsing for my dress, while still having my own corner to try on and pick my perfect gown (with the help of my sister). Its amazing to find gently used designer gowns for less than $500! I would definitely recommend trying this place out!
I found my dream wedding dress at brides for a cause on Thursday! All of the girls working here were so kind and helpful. I especially love that all proceeds go to charity to support women. This company is doing such great important work! Totally recommend them!
Such friendly staff and great dress selection! I actually found my dream dress that I was hoping would pop up at the store. It has a small stain on it, but the staff was very helpful and let me know all of my options to get it removed or covered up. I was given a list of recommended and trusted cleaners and tailors. Fingers crossed that I can get it fixed!**update** I got the stain removed at Five Star Cleaners off Hawthorne and the dress looked good as new!!
I had an amazing time. This is my first time getting married and wasnt quite sure what to do and one of the young ladies in there helped me find my dream dress! Everyone is so nice and helpful and amazing pricings! Ive got se friends Ive already recommend to go here!
The selection is amazing! I found my dream dress here on my first try. It cost me about 1/4 of full retail price, was clean and in perfect condition, and most importantly, the proceeds go to a great cause. The staff members were incredibly helpful and wonderful and the store is beautiful and clean.
AMAZING!! Super impressive selection and friendly staff who let you look at your leisure and arent over your shoulder the way they are in many bridal shops. I found my dress almost immediately and couldnt be happier - and was shocked at what a great deal it was. If youre able to visit the Portland or Washington stores definitely check them out!
Loved it! Yes, there are lots of dresses needing TLC with rips or dirty but those are fairly simple fixes and you’re donating to a good cause. I had one day to find a dress (surprise engagement and wedding) but didn’t want to compromise on what I had envisioned. I found the most perfect dress, tags still attached, for under $200 and it fit like a glove. I went on a Wednesday morning and was the only person there until a military bride came in and it was SO cool to see that my purchase was actually benefiting someone there in the store at the same time. I took away one star just because I wish they did a better job of cleaning the dresses so I had a better idea of what they could be on the big day.
Brides For A Cause is amazing! I found my dress there and had such a great experience! They have a ton of dresses to choose from and their staff are very helpful! The whole process had me feeling like a princess plus I paid a third of what I would’ve paid elsewhere and it felt good knowing that I was supporting an important cause! Check them out!
Lovely shop with great selection. Visited twice and found my dress!
Absolutely lovely place. The staff were enthusiastic, engaged, knowledgeable, and genuinely delighted to see women loving their dresses! Theyre doing a great job with COVID-19 safety measures, everyone wears a mask, has to wash their hands when they arrive, one way rows between the dresses, and all dresses and accessories are sanitized before someone else can try them.Prices are AMAZING, and all the dresses are in really good shape.
Very welcoming environment with exceptionally friendly staff. I had all the help i needed and found my visit to be wonderful. I highly recommend going here before any other bridal shop. I ended up with a dream dress for a fraction of its original cost!
Wonderful, friendly, nonjudmental employees. Went there twice, as they get new inventory regularly. Great selection of dresses. Id recommend you try this place for a dress of your dreams!
I cannot say ENOUGH about this place! To provide the wonderful dresses at such a low cost is almost a crime. We came in with a large group today, but were perfectly accommodated. The staff was helpful, but let us do our thing. It was a perfect experience for us. Thank you again.
I had multiple wonderful experiences looking for my wedding dress here! I would come here by myself to check out new inventory and the people who work here were always very helpful and honest. I never felt any pressure to buy a dress and was always welcomed back as I continued my search for the right dress. Eventually I did find my dress at this shop! It was in excellent condition, fit me perfectly, and was a great price. One person working also helped me brainstorm how I could change the beading on the dress to something that was more me. I love this store and recommend it to any person looking for a wedding dress--OR a bridesmaid dress!!!!
This place is exactly what youd expect!!! Such a great idea!!!! You can try dresses on yourself without being hassled. Theres no dress minimum. Theres no time restrictions. The assistants are friendly when you need them but not overbearing. Overall great experience
Great selection, great prices, great charity, great for the environment. Love that this is available
I found my wedding dress here! I love the idea and concept of this store. They take donations of dresses that are 5 years old or newer. Some are used and some have never been worn. They do have the dresses separated by size. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is the girl who was there, was not very helpful or informative. COVID or not, she didnt really have any helpful information. The most that she did was direct us to where to wash our hands and to keep us on time in the dressing room. Essentially she could have been a barista selling wedding dresses on the side, not very knowledgeable. But that aside, I was able to find MY DRESS here.
I had such a wonderful experience here. So many great options and the staff is super helpful, but not pushy like some places. I found my perfect mermaid dress, that was already dry cleaned and had a bustle done. Highly recommend checking it out, especially since all the money is donated to issues that affect women.
Such an amazing concept and mission. My sister and I went to Brides for a Cause and found the perfect wedding gown for a fraction of the cost anywhere else. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They treated her like a queen and made her feel so special. We had so much fun and enjoyed our experience. The shop was really fun to look through. I highly recommend any bride to stop and take a look here first and see if they can find their dream dress for an affordable price.
The dresses are cost effective. they make positive changes in our world. It made it so a poor college grad could feel beautiful on her wedding day. An absolutely lovely organization to support.
Amazing selection. Great ladies there helped every step of the way.
A gem!Gorgeous bridal salon with a stunning selection of high end gowns at insanely low prices. No appointment necessary. I stopped in and tried on ten gowns in less than 30 minutes. Found an amazing $5,000 dress for $300! Does it get better than that?? The attendants are knowledgeable and helpful, and to know that this is a non-profit business funding women-focused charities is the icing on the cake. Cannot recommend highly enough.
I had a really great experience at the Portland boutique. We went during the week so it was not busy at all, only two other brides in the dressing area while we were there. What we appreciated most about this shop was how hands off the staff were. They certainly offered their help but we did not need any, nor did we want any. I’d gone to David’s Bridal and a local boutique in Salem and I did not enjoy the pushy sales experience of those two places. The staff at Brides for a Cause checked on us a few times but they were very respectful of our style. Some of the other reviews commented on how the staff didn’t help with dressing and I think that because I’d already been to two other shops with a consultant each time, I kind of knew what I was doing and didn’t need any help. However, if it was my first time ever trying on bridal dresses then I would have wanted help. But it was the perfect style for my mom and I. I think even if I hadn’t found my dress I would have still rated this shop high. But I did find my dress! And it was so affordable and well within my budget that I got a second reception dress there too! I will definitely be recommending this shop to fellow brides and will be donating all of my formal dresses to them. What a wonderful way to empower and support women and give our beloved dresses a second life to another happy bride.
I love this shop and I have already recommended it to many friends. I found the dress I wanted! The original cost of the dress was $2250 and Brides for a Cause was selling it for $320. There are so many beautiful dresses and a great variety for everyone with plenty of sizes! They also have bridesmaid dresses that are of very high quality- I bought one here for only $50! Dont be intimidated by one-time used dresses- this is the right path to go on!! Also, the girls working here are very very kind and the interior of the store is very cute and updated! You are free to roam and try on at your own leisure which takes all the pressure off dress shopping.
Brides for a Cause was recommended to me by many people after I told them I was getting married. I went to a traditional shop first where you are assigned a stylist/helper and had a good experience there but just didnt find the one. I knew going to Brides for a Cause was going to be a different experience based on reading the website and the reviews I had read. It isnt your traditional shop, however it was exactly what I envisioned. There was no one helping you, you did the shopping and trying on all by yourself. As recommended on the website, if you have a group larger than 3, show up after 2pm. Seven of us walked in and were immediately greeted at the door and was told how their shop worked. I found my dress within the first five I tried on! Some dresses felt more new than others and others were damaged or very worn, again not a bad thing as I was expecting this. I would recommend Brides for a Cause for anyone looking for a dress. I was lucky enough to find mine the first time I went, however I could see myself going back weekly to check what they had if I hadnt found my dress first try. I also love that they support and donate to Womens shelters and support womens groups.
Dresses where nice, absolutely no one in the store and was not allowed to look at dresses unless I was the bride, no one wore gloves. Over casious in a uneducated way. No parking on a 1 way street. Bad googel directions took us to the back of the building. Most of all the atendent didt even help the bride get into the dress. Boo!
Absolutely wonderful experience! The whole staff was so helpful and encouraging. My Sons fiance found an absolutely gorgeous dress at an incredible price! She also got her veil and belt with accessories. Why spend thousands of dollars on a dress you will wear once? You can get a dress here for sooooo much less and the money goes to great causes! Staff was A+++++ Dress selection A++++++ Experience A++++++
This place is awesome!!! Even though I havent found my dress yet, i will go there more to see if they have any new dresses. My dress is size 0, but they still have enough dresses for me to try on.They have rack $20 and a lot of things for you to try. When I was there, there were 2 brides to be choosing their dresses.Staffs are wonderful & warm. Price is very good. I saw one dress at BHLDN for $700 or more but here is it about $300 and looks new as well.Highly recommended!
Highly recommend. I found my dress for 600 when it was usually 1500. I showed one of the staff my Pinterest page. And she’s the one who found my dress! So affordable and I love their cause. All of their staff was so friendly. Loved my experience.
Really nice staff, lots of dresses to try on and most in very good condition. Lots priced around $350 - $600, some more and some super cheap - One woman bought a gown for $25 while I was there! They have some bridal party dresses too.
I had a wonderful time buying my wedding dress here. They had a great selection of dresses in a variety of sizes and styles. The prices were also reasonable. It was a beautiful showroom, very clean. The sales people were very friendly, not pushy, and were as hands on or hands off as you wanted them to be. I would definitely recommend this store to any bride shopping for her wedding dress.
Amazing shop, amazing workers, and amazing dresses. I bought my dress here being the first place I have looked. Great prices if you are on a budget. The workers are super nice and helpful. 100% suggest going here.
What is the best way to describe this place? Ufa 😅THIS PLACE IS THE DREAM STORE WITH A HUGE SELECTION OF DRESSES AND ALL IS FOR A GOOD CAUSE OF HELPING COUPLES IN TROUBLE AND ENVIRONMENTAL CORRECT.At first when I googled about second hand bridal dresses this place came up and I ready about the beautiful work they with the founds, the following day I went to check it out. All staff is amazing 😉, very friendly, professional and very warmly. I had to go there twice to say yes on a dress that made me feel good, beautiful, shopped environment conscious, and prices are so affordable.
Just beautiful in every way. The Staff is not even staff they’re like family. They’re there for you especially when it’s your first time trying on dresses.
My new daughter-in-law found her wedding dress here before she wed my son. Myself, my daughter, her sister, mother & grandmother all accompanied her and the volunteers accommodated us all. Great prices. Even better cause. I hope all the brides in my family from now on will shop and donate here, too.
I was not expecting to find a dress the weekend I started looking but Brides for a Cause had such beautiful options in the style I was looking for! I was able to find the dress of my dreams- beautiful beaded vintage looking dress for a very reasonable price... and the staff is AMAZING! Everyone I encountered during my visits on both Saturday and Sunday were so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! Plus the vibe in this shop is laid back and fun. Thank you!
Very friendly staff! I found my dress in 10 minutes. It was amazing, it was like a dress out of a bridal magazine! So beautiful. They helped me pick out a cute belt that matched perfectly. I put it on hold for a few hours while I shopped around the city. I came back and bought my dress there for $350, the belt was $50 and then I bought a cover bag for $10. All of the dresses are newer styles and great quality. It was an awesome experience.
Im glad for the cause, but the attendants were not very helpful, especially if youre not allowed to have your one guest peruse the dresses with you. The curtains didnt close well.
It was quiet when I walked in, without a reservation, with two of my bridesmaids. The service was on point and thorough. Explained the order of dress, that trying on dresses larger then me was ok since it could be tailored and the dressing rooms were large and comfortable. I liked waking to the front of the shop to check out the dress in natural light as it also gave me an indication as to how I get walking in each one. I didn’t purchase anything that day but asked them to hold one item, I did later come back for. There were a couple pulls and tears but minor. I bought something that fit perfectly and I never would have been able to afford otherwise. This place is great, I’d recommend checking it out. I wasn’t planning on buying a used/sample dress but was pleasantly surprised when I found just what I was looking for. Thanks again :)*I did notice there are a lot of 6-12s which worked well for me.**Not so impressed to read in these comments that only one gender is allowed in the back change rooms...Kinda weird and pretty out dated. This was not part of my experience but feel it should be addressed or noted.
Amazing, wonderful place! Made me feel very welcome and get me hyped! Didnt mind that I brought a bit of a bigger group with me either! Thank you so much for helping me find the perfect dress!! 💜💚💜💚
I have been a bridesmaid and wedding dress shopping companion for two different people who have successfully found a dress within their budget at this store. It is wonderful!Because of the great selection, organization, prices, and hands-off policy of the customer service, I will absolutely recommend this shop to anyone in the market for a wedding dress, and will also be coming here if I find myself in that place in the future.Highly recommend!
In writing this review I am taking into account that this is a charity organization and that I went into the store less informed than I could have been. There are dresses for a variety of tastes here. I have a very particular and simple style and though most of the dresses here are traditional and formal I was able to find a dress I really liked.Unfortunately the dress I loved needed a number of alterations to fit me properly. Though I was not made any promises, I was assured by the sales person that the alterations were simple and could likely be done by one of their recommended bridal seamstress suggestions. Had I known the whole process of having a dress altered I would have realized I was purchasing too close to the wedding for this to be possible—my bad. When I reached out to the recommended seamstresses and others I was all but laughed at for thinking the alterations could be done in time. I told the sales people several times what my wedding date was. I defaulted to the salesperson’s opinion. I assumed she was informed about alterations—my bad. In the end I wasn’t able to use the dress I purchased here which was a huge disappointment. They have a no return policy so I guess I’ll just see the money spent as one of my charity donations for the year.
I found my wedding dress here after 45 minutes! It was the first and last place I went. My dress was so unique and a designer dress for 1/4 of what it could have been sold for! I was very happy with the staff and how laid back it was. You also dont need an appointment! Makes me feel better that my purchase went towards a good cause (:
I had a wonderful time at Brides for a Cause! The staff pretty much let you do your own thing, but they check up on you to see if you need help! I am so happy and excited that I was able to get my dress and veil from them. Thank you so much Brides for a Cause!! ❤
This place probably isnt for everyone but it was perfect for me. Got to go through the styles myself along with my partner, all no fuss. There were not too many options for more simple or low key styles, at least in my size, but I found something just right. I also got to feel good about reusing a dress and having my money go to support worthy causes. Grateful to have something like this in Portland.
The only place in town with (slightly used) petticoats at a reasonable price. Nice little boutique with an assortment of gowns: bridal, bridesmaid, mother-of-the-bride, etc. They also have accessories for the gown, for hair, veils and, surprisingly, even a few pairs of shoes. Dont pass them up; you may find what you need and more.
No appointment necessary, first come first serve. There are a lot of different options here and more coming in all the time. I went to the newly opened Seattle location which was fun. All the ladies working there were so much fun and very enthusiastic when I found something that looked good on me! They were very helpful and I was actually able to put a few dresses on hold. And I ended up getting my dress here!!
Didnt shop there myself but from what I saw the selection was amazing and when the clerk realized the price tag was wrong she actually refunded the money my friend had already paid for the dress. EXCELLENT quality maybe a little problem with parking but definitely well worth it. Access through the front door (street side) outside do not go inside the building.
My sister bought her wedding dress here and it is truly gorgeous. She first went to Davids bridal and chose a dress there on sale for $600. Then she found that EXACT dress at Brides For A Cause brand new for $300. She ended up going with a different dress at BFAC because they had a much wider selection than Davids Bridal and she could go with a more expensive dress that was now within her budget!! A++++
The staff was so friendly and helpful. They helped me pick out lots of dresses in the styles I liked plus some additional styles. My budget was 200.00 and I found plenty of beautiful dresses within that price range. They also have a rack of dresses that have been around for longer than they like to keep them so they mark them down to 50.00 still beautiful dresses. I bought one of these. I didnt even know it was a fifty dollar dress it was just my favorite. It is so beautiful and I cant wait to wear it on my special day. If you are looking for a dress you should definitely look here. Lots and lots of gorgeous dresses and accessories some have been wore once some are brand new. Give them a try you wont be sorry.
Just coming back from my wedding weekend and wanted to thank Brides for a Cause for such a positive experience! My dress was stunning and I am so grateful and finding a dress through this company which made me feel good about my purchase! I highly recommend BFAC for anybody on the hunt !
Anybody can come in here and buy the dress of their dreams at an affordable price, and it goes to charity!!! I never would have thought that a bridal shop like this existed. It was an amazing experience that I would do again, and I would recommend this shop to any bride-to-be. Sana was amazing and I am so grateful for her help! I last minute bought a gorgeous plus sized gown for $150
Found my dress here in no time. I loved the wide open space to shop and try on, the helpful staff, HUGE selection and the amazing prices! Just come with an open mind for the style you want since all the dresses are individuals and not likely to have more than one size per dress represented.
Very friendly and laid back. Prices were very good! Quite a bit of the dresses show signs of being worn, but nothing too noticeable. I love that the place wasnt high maintenance like most bridal shops.
I went in twice. The first time it was crazy busy because it was the bridal show weekend. The attendants were still super helpful. Went back the next day to try the dress back on again in a calmer setting and this time the owner helped me. She equally was fantastic and all in all the experience was perfect!
