Great coffee. Great pastry. Wish they did biscuits and gravy through out the week.
Posies is a real gem!! Fantastic coffee, an expansive and delicious selection of pastries including some yummy vegan options, as well as full breakfast and lunch items, all at a very reasonable price in a lovely neighborhood. I had a wonderful breakfast here, with a soy latte and a chocolate espresso bread. The shop has an airy, cozy vibe with wide wooden bench and house plants. Very friendly service and awesome job on social distancing and sanitizing. While no dining-in at the moment, there are several tables outside on the street and in the lovely parklet, while the Kenton Park is just steps away.
Coffee drinks are good but the menu is the best. Wide range of delicious baked good and bagels. They make breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Just an overall great selection. Can get VERY busy with a long line mid morning so time your visit accordingly. Good outside seating and, for right now, inside seating. That might change again soon due to Covid surge. Friendly staff. And bonus is thats next to the library, which is open to actually go inside!!
I got an oat milk latte, a gluten free blueberry muffin, and a gluten free bagel sandwich. I’m a happy happy happy camper. Everything was superb.
I really like this place, but was recently disappointed when I ordered the kids sandwich and it came in seeded bread. My kid didnt eat it. Kids sandwiches should come on plain bread or at least give us a choice / heads up. Also there were cucumbers in the kids sandwich, which was not a welcome surprise. Need to give more details and be more thoughtful with kids meals. Other than that, this is a wonderful neighborhood spot!
Great coffees and avocado toast! always courteous and friendly staff
They are slow but very nice and high quality product
I LOVE the Posies team! Kaitii, Naomi, David.. y’all are simply the best. Always such a wonderful customer service experience. ❤️ The pistachio cake, weekend breakfast biscuits, and pineapple coffee cake are EXCELLENT! Coffee is always on point.. and I love it when they have flowers for sale. Brightens my day. It’s always a weekly stop for me. Thanks for helping make Kenton so wonderful!
I order from here all the time, and the crew here does a mean job with the bean! The pastry selections are almost overwhelming, and there are certainly options for many.Check them out, but be mindful, they’re REALLY popular(for good reason)!
One offering for espresso. RR Colombian coffee. Mildly sweet, and not very acidic. Seltzer water is offered as a pallet cleanser. Nice upgrade, from the tap water offered access the street at Prince (though prince has more espresso offerings, from smaller roasters). The blueberry and cream cheese danish is light and fluffy with several mouth watering layers. Yum. Will be back to try some of their baked breads. There’s a small kids room. The bathrooms could use a little work... other than that great! This is a historic building with lots of character.
Great efficient understated service, great coffee, delicious treats and tasty sandwiches.
Lavender lattes oh my. Freshly baked in-house everything. Love you, Posies!
We just moved into the neighborhood and it has been our go-to place to get great coffee, breakfast sandwichs and pastries. The safe is amazing as well.
If you find yourself in need of a baked good, (ie cookie, croissant, muffin, danish, cake & so much more), a coffee or tea (personal favorite is the Golden Milk), or maybe a sandwich (highly recommend the Parisian), youve found yourself in the right place. I go out of my way to visit Posies and Ill continue to do so!Posies brought a new light to the street of Denver in Kenton and since then the street has come alive with so many more shops and businesses. Its truly a hub in Kenton and Im thankful for that.Stop by for a quick snack or a full meal, you wont regret it!!
Excellent pastry/coffee shop in the heart of Kenton which in itself makes this worth a trip. Barista makes a great cappuccino. My wife and I have tried several of both the sweet and the savory pastries. Have not been disappointed yet!
Posies is a staple for my Saturday morning pastry cravings.Theres always a great selection that includes vegan and GF options.I particularly enjoy their bagel sandwiches and frosted cookies. It does get busy, even if you order online you still need to wait in line to pickup.
Zuchinna bread was fresh and moist. The cowboy cookie was chewed and both were well baked. I enjoyed the quality and service was friendly.
Excellent food and great service! There was a line out the door, but we were not rushed and our food was tasty.
Great coffee and good pastries and sandwiches.
The food is terrific. But they require customers to wear those accursed masks. No indoor dining.
Great place to walk to in the morning, I enjoyed the banana cake and the chai which has a bit of a kick to it. Plenty of yummy options to go with your coffee if you want a bite to eat.
Ive had better black coffee before. But this place makes an excellent buttermilk biscuit sandwich on Saturdays. Highly recommended.👍🏻😀
Our air bnb was close by and we walked to this cute street and discovered this adorable coffee shop. The coffee was amazing, staff was super friendly and breakfast sandwich was also good.
Great coffee and delicious cookies. I havent tied the sandwiches but definitely will in the future
Food was ordinary. Cappuccino was really good.
Me and my Dad both got the breakfast sandwiches. I got it with bacon and he got it with turkey. Both were very good. I got a mocha which was very well made and had a good amount of chocolate. We also got a side biscuit and the are the best Ive ever had! :D If you are lucky enough you can get some day old sweets like I did for 1$!
Ive been coming here for years and always feel welcomed! The staff is always super nice! Great pastries and coffee, Love you guys!
My favorite neighborhood coffee pisces. Great espresso and baked goods!
This place is a real find! It offers delicious fresh baked cakes, breads, and cookies including vegan and gluten free choices. I had the vegan pumpkin bread which was fabulous. There is a broader range of choices than most cafes offer from delicious breakfasts to lunch, snack, and dessert fare. Everything is fresh and made to order.Since I’m not a tea drinker, I can’t comment on the tea varieties, but I have found the coffee drinks superb.Despite being quite busy when I was there, the staff kept everything moving at a comfortable pace. I also found everyone friendly and eager to please adding to the welcoming feel of the place.A word about the space: Posies is larger than most cafes with tables for singles, couples and families. There is also a bar with stools for additional seating. While the cafe gets quite busy, because of ample open space, it doesn’t feel claustrophobic. For people with kids, there is an unexpected playroom next to the eating area with toddler-height wall blackboard, toys, and kids’ furniture with a see-through window.Posies is in the Kenton neighborhood, a great place to walk around and explore the shops selling work by local artists.
Lovely place, the rotating treats are always a hit! Biscuit breakfast sandwich featured on the weekends is everything. (And is especially good with their corned beef)
Likely one of the best, if not the best coffee spots in Portland. Def the best in nopo and Kenton. Everyone is nice, helpful, and seems happy to be there. Everything I’ve gotten there has been grand! I always get a dirty chai with coconut, and they nail it every single time. Cheers to y’all
Well, I used to really like it. Was going here every week for years. Now its pricey and not really worth it. Got avocado toast today and it was just untoasted bread with a small amount of avocado on it. It used to be great, with big slices of avocado on each piece of toast, sea salt and pepper. Pretty bummed.
After two bad experiences with a cake order, I wont be returning.I ordered a cake for my mothers birthday earlier this year- something I thought would be doable for a bakery. I asked for a natural texture, white and blue with gold details. The cake arrived, and it ended up being a smorgasbord of all the colors mixed together, a flat cake that looked like it had been painted with unicorn vomit (see photo attached, I added my own flowers). Also asked for the year 1956 to be incorporated (the year of my mothers birth), and the lettering was incredibly inappropriate in style for the occasion and style of the cake.Understanding that perhaps my artistic vision might have been too difficult to interpret, I decided to go with something simpler for my sisters baby shower. I placed the online order a week ahead of the event and asked for a single-layer carrot cake, and provided a photo (as requested by the form). I called two days later to find that they were confused by the photo, so I clarified that all I was asking for is a white frosted, simple, single-layer cake and did not have to look exactly like the photo. I was told they would check with the baker to see if this was possible. After I received no call in return, I checked on the order later only to find that no, they hadnt bothered to make the cake or communicate with me, and I wouldnt be able to have a cake ready for the shower.Literally go anywhere else if you want a cake made. Literally.
Great food at good prices with fast and friendly service
You just can’t go wrong with Posies. We’ve been going consistently ever since our first visit-it’s become a weekend staple. Personal favorites are the weekend biscuit breakfast sandwich (always SO good) and the pumpkin coffee cake is just out of this world. They have such a great variety and I always find myself wanting one of everything. Really love this place..definitely check it out if you’ve never been.
We recently tried this cafe for the first time and I am pretty picky with my coffee shops. I am a cold brew conisseur and their brew and baked goods are FANTASTIC! Really reasonable pricing as well.
Best place in the area for coffee breakfast and lunch
Nice easy crowd due to covid. Very good coffee, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches.
I swung by here on my way home from the Post Office up the street because I saw the RR sign in the window and I adore Ristretto Roasters Coffee. I ordered a Lavender Latte -- they make their syrup in house and it is exceptional! It has those floral notes without being overly sweet. I plan to return often.
Been to Posies a few times now, as we live close. Overall the staff have always been quite friendly, and the food and coffee good. Its a cute space that can tend to get crowded, especially at the expected times of day. But in general its usually possible to find a spot to sit. Good menu options, and some of the best baked goods around. The vegan pumpkin bread is delicious.
Placed an order on GrubHub at 1:15p. Posies accepted my order, and then immediately cancelled it because I guess the staff felt like going home early today rather than fulfill their business hours.
Beautiful place with great coffee and lots of different pastries. The weekend biscuit sandwiches were so good.
The best cafe around for socially distant socializing with people youve never been social with before, particularly for us antisocial people. Seriously though, love this place.
Our birthday cake was gorgeous and beautifully well done. The cake was delightfully fluffy and the icing was creamy perfection. I ordered this cake for my sweetie’s birthday. She’s extremely fond of cake tries to stop in at the fantastic Konditorei in Salem whenever possible. Well, she said that this cake from Posies was the best birthday cake she’d ever had! Thanks so much, Posies!
So happy I found Posies. Enjoy having them as part of my routine.
I love having this place in the neighborhood. Local bakery. Amazing, cheap bagels. Above average coffee. You can buy yesterdays leftover baked goods for $1. Lots of tables, family friendly. Whats not to like?
Beautiful atmosphere that fulfills my highest expectations of comfort and warmth for conversations, reading, studying or lingering over a cafe meal. This place has charm, excellent service and a design to their pastries that connects simplicity, beauty and taste. One can bring a family recipe for posie to reframe as an artful, tasty concoction.
If possible I would give the baker at Posies a “10”!Ordered 2 dozen cup cakes and a vanilla cake with raspberry filling for grandsons 1st Birthdayand ALL were beyond our expectations!I would highly recommend Posies for completing your special meal or celebration! They will be our go to Bakery for all future needs and I will be singing their praises by word of mouth recommendations to all family and friends.Thank You for making our family’s celebration so exceptional!Added bonus the entire staff are so sweetand Posies coffee/breakfast bar offerings are all Amazing!❤️
Fast and friendly service. Great looking and tasting baked goods. Im not even a pastry person but I cant help but get a scone here now and then.
Locally owned and operated! Offering all homemade pastries and local coffee roasters. Family friendly with great staff and safe environment.
I have been going here for years, and I have never had a bad experience. My coffee is always prepared like it should be no matter who makes it. Always a pleasant experience!
Great coffee, golden milk n pastries. Like the old original wood decor. Lends a nice atmosphere. Kid friendly
Friendly staff, good service, tasty food!
Coffee is okay, and the French toast is great. I was surprised that it didnt come with syrup, and asked for some, and then was especially surprised to be charged extra for syrup when I got the check. It was not expensive, but felt a little cheap to be charged for it when Ive never had French toast come out without syrup before. Maybe the cost for syrup can just be incorporated in so it feels a little less nickel and dime.
This place was packed! And well worth it.Coffee was good and strong. Pastries, of which I had 2, were amazing!
Nice staff, great breakfast and coffee, perfect for knocking out some work in Kenton! They had a great energy and vibe; solid treats and breakfast options and tasty coffee!EGG-cellent start to the morning!@PosiesCafe: Breakfast Sandwich - 2 eggs, cheese and Ham served on Grand Central Sourdough!
Delicious pastries and a good selection of drinks, both coffee and tea based. They have WiFi and lots of tables near outlets, so it’s not a bad place to get some work done either. It’s a pretty large coffee shop so it can be somewhat noisy, not a bad thing at all just know before you go.
Great place for a coffee and baked goods!
The almond croissant shouldn’t be missed.
Has a small playroom in the back which is super convenient if you have kids. Coffee is good. Bagel had great flavor but was incredibly dense and hard to chew.
Just amazing baked goods. Hands down the best cinnamon roll Ive ever had, and the apple fritters are fabulous.
I wish they just had regular pure green tea. Its a nice place to talk with your friends. They have a area for children to play thats really nice they have breakfast foods the service seems to be really nice but they need to have pure green tea
Friendly Staff. Cosy atmosphere. A must try Carrot Cake and the best Avocados on toast! I recommend!
Wonderful coffee and tea. Fabulous berry scones. Nice local vibe to start the day with
Came in early morning to grab breakfast for my husband and I. Loved my breakfast and every bite taste better. I tried the poached eggs with toast and spinach delicious I say. Anna has amazing customer service skills and very professional. Glad to come again and I’ll tell some friends.
Was looking for baked goodies. Most pastries were burnt.
Cute little Cafe. Coffee is really good. I even bought some beans to take home. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Super chill vibe with local feel. Staff is super friendly. Great place to work on laptop. Pretty good chai latte and Reuben sandwich too.
Stopped in for a quick oat cappuccino and pastry. Delightfully surprised at the selection of gluten free & vegan pastries that were made in house. Sadly, I realized that they are still serving Ristretto Roasters coffee after one of the owners publicly made statements that invalidate survivors of sexual assault. Please consider supporting other local coffee roasters in town.
I really do want to love Posies.Good:+ If youve got kids, the fact that theres a play room and childrens activities, as well as a changing table in the bathroom is priceless..+ The place is really well laid out and the furniture and decor are pretty cool.+ They have soft serve ice cream!+ Bagels!+ Great location (on two bus lines, near a library, lots of shops nearby--including a kids consignment shop and several other shops). Not So Good:- In my experience, the coffee coffee drinks are usually okay, occasionally good, but never great.- When the staff has downtime, itd be cool if theyd take the initiative to clean the place up a bit.- The two girls who are most often working there when Im there consistently seem pretty aloof. I mean, theyre never rude, but theyre certainly not welcoming. I am rather particular, though, about customer service.Ill keep going because I have a kid, but one more mediocre latte and Ill avoid the place unless theres kids stuff going on.I really hope things get better there. I want to love it there!
Super close by and a great place for coffee and morning snacks. We love coming here before the Kenton garage sale to stock on some caffeine and goodies. Family friendly and near many other amenities of the Kenton area.
Love the breakfast sandwich. The scones are delicious!!!
An entire wall of windows keeps this adorable shop bright and sunny. Posies is located in the super cute and walk-able Kenton neighborhood. The breakfast sandwich was hearty enough to be shared (although on a hungry day you may want to keep it all to yourself). There has been plenty of seating every time I have gone in.Be aware that they have a childrens playroom which attracts a lot of little ones. This often results in a lot of noise.
Sweet little community space with baked goods made in-house, a kind staff, and yummy and creative food and drink options. :)
Posies is a great neighborhood cafe with good coffee and pastries and a few strong options for breakfast, including an excellent breakfast sandwich. The pastries rotate, but they always have some delicious options, including coffee cakes, fruit Danishes, muffins, and bagels, of course. It also has a nice play room to entertain and contain young children, which is awesome for those of us with kids.
I and my husband stopped by to get a slice of pizza and some pastries for lunch. The pizza of the day was mushrooms, red onions, Fontina cheese with Rosemary olive oil. The dough was crisp and delicious. We tried the berry & apricot scone and sour dough chocolate croissant. Scone was one of the best we had. The fruit tasted very fresh.
My go-to Saturday morning stop for coffee and a pastry. Great coffee and delicious food. Its a great place for an afternoon beverage and snack with a group. There is plenty of seating indoors and its always a comfortable temperature. Its family friendly so you decide whether that means you get your items to go.
Amazing baked goods. Coffee drinks are always decent, but sometimes theyre so sublime you wish they could always be that good. Very friendly staff. Good vibes. High hipster quotient, which can be extremely entertaining.
Interesting place for a traditionalist to hang out at. Most of the clientele turn left on a consistent basis and most of the employees are cordial to the likes of me. The ones who arent, come across as ambivalent. Id recommend an almond croissant and a cup of ethiopia coffee.
I am a fairly regular customer of Posies, and every time Im always in love. Excellent food, wonderful drinks, relaxed environment, and the staff is always super friendly and remembers you.My only qualm is their hot chocolate. For some reason, that seems to be their one fault. The mochas are excellent, but the hot chocolates almost taste like glorified hot water. Seriously though, that is like their only problem that Ive experienced.
Love this cafe! They serve Ristretto coffee, which is delicious. They have a good selection of bagels, pastries, and sweet breads. Also a good sandwich menu. There is plenty of seating and a friendly atmosphere. There is also a kids play room with chalk, dress up clothes, a play kitchen, and toys.
One of the best coffee shops in Portland. The menu has changed where there are so many good options! Vegan, GF, Kids -- whatever - there is something delicious for you. The pastries are all to die for and the bakery that also makes cupcakes and cakes in my opinion is the best in town. I love their set up for seating. some is spacious some is cafe style.
The baked goods are amazing. I loved the carrot cake.
Very interesting menu, knowledgeable staff, enjoyable dinner in downtown location. We got there early and was seated in the balcony & watched the place fill up below, nice show. Food was different, loved it.
Cool, unpretentious people in a setting that could easily attract the opposite. High quality baked goods produced right on the spot and the best coffee in Kenton.
Veggie, Caprese and kiddos PB&J are all fantastic! My daughter absolutely devoured her sandwich, which is a rare occasion. Well done! Will definitely be returning next time were in Portland!
Posies is always great. Even when theyre busy, the staff is cordial and never feels rushed. Sometimes it means waiting a little longer, but Id rather have the quality service.
Lovely staff. Oddly peaceful view, like being in a small town.
Amazing food, amazing coffee, swift service, & able to keep up with the incoming traffic. Truly, a nice experience.
Variety of baked goods (including house-made gf stuff) and perfectly crafted espresso and other cafe drinks. Good for solo work, casual meet-ups, and families with kids.
