Absolutely the most friendly and helpful staff. Feel like I’m not in grungy gross Portland as soon as I walk in the door. Portland businesses could stand to take some costumer service tips from the wonderful staff at Sephora on Morrison.
Excellent service today. I went in to get color matched for a new Make Up For Ever foundation. The front door rep was immediately attentive and super helpful in getting me someone to help me. The rep who helped me find the right MUFE shade had perfect recommendations. All of the staff were genuinely friendly. Will definitely come back to this location!
Ive been at Sephora downtown yesterday and on entrance Ive been greeted and Ive explained that Ill be just browsing and I dont need any help, thank you. Nevertheless, every 2 minutes someone from the staff approached me offering help. Sometimes even the same people twice!! Ive spent only about 15 min in store and they came to me about 7 times!! Is this even normal? Ive made some purchase but not everything I wanted. Im considering only buying online next time. This was a very awkward experience.
This location actually had items in stock. They were very helpful getting me the items I wanted. Everyone was so friendly.
Literally the friendliest staff ever.. and its Sephora. They dont have to be ~ the quality speaks for itself. But they are! Super welcoming atmosphere. Love it
The women working here are very nice and professional. Unfortunately they didn’t have some items I wanted but we were able to order them at the register. I asked for some recommendations for some skincare alternatives, and they were very informational and spot on.
This Sephora is always clean and well-stoked. Plus, the employees are always super helpful.
Giana was amazing thank you! Excellent customer service
The salespeople were all lovely and very helpful.
When i visit the downtown Portland Sephora, i am left with a warm, fuzzy feeling, from not only being helped, but also, the absolutely gushingly friendly staff, including Gina from todays visit. She even painted her arm for me, so i could decide between two colors! Thank you SO much for the kind & gentle service you provide during this dark & difficult time.
The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Good selection of skin care and bb cream.
So cool store, you can find everything for the woman need, love it!
Good selection of Urban Decay and a nice selection for people Birthday that are apart of SEPHORA!!!!
Gifts are awesome! Store is very tiny service is less than average
The employees at this store are always so friendly and helpful. The store is always well kept and the testers are well-kept too! Ive come here multiple times to get a foundation match and the staff is always willing and so helpful with me. Theyre also very knowledgeable about all their products and layout of the store. The location is also convenient as well.
The people working are very nice.
Very professional workers
I always get the best customer service here. The associates are knowledgeable and great make up artists. Some of them even recognized me after a couple times being there, coming from a store that’s always so busy, it means a lot to me that they remember me. I super recommend Sephora and specially the Downtown location. ❤️
Too good sanitizing facility and also very well precautionary measures were taken.Friendly staff and really good service 🙂
Sephora always has the nicest sales people 💜
I went in and was immediately greeted and asked if there was anything I needed help with. A woman named tiffany helped me find exactly what I was looking for and answered all my questions. She was very kind and they have good prices with good quality makeup.
Awesome customer service have to go back soon
This sephora is a bit small but they still had quite a variety of products. I was immediately asked if I needed help as soon as I entered. The workers were very nice and informative. None of the displays were dirty or messy, everything was well put together.
Finally it seems that Sephora is hiring a diverse staff! Everyone was very nice this time! I was helped by a nice gentleman in the perfume section! He gathered all of the colognes on my certificate for me to test out! He made it easy to find what I wanted! Another young lady helped us with a skin oil! The person who checked us out was pleasant too. I was getting tired of the suspicious stares I used to get here when the staff was less diverse. Thank you!
Ill be honest, I didnt buy anything here. However, I was in there with my girlfriend and the people seemed polite and helpful. She bought things and was happy with them, so I guess this place is good, yeah?
It is a very small location, but they have still a great selection of products. Even though I didnt find what I exactly was looking for, Ariana helped me and found something else that was great. When the consultantion was done, I browsed around; employees were aware and still popping up when I seemed confused.
Their Sephora brand foundation is much better than Ultas, and its only $20
Kayla gave me a mini maker over and she was beyond patient and talented. I learned so much and I was already pretty great with my makeup. Totally worth every penny if you havent done this yet you really need too! SHE IS INCREDIBLE... THANK YOU KAYLA
There were very nice and helpful
Smaller location, but it has a little bit of everything. There is always someone around to help find a product or find a color. Checking out is usually a breeze and everyone is very kind. Easy to get to on public transit and it’s in an excellent location.
Went in for a quick brown session. I learned a lot from Jenny. She showed me was to better Derringer my brother and still maintain the natural look. So of course I had to write about how awesome she was. I will always come back for these mini sessions. Thank you Sephora.
Love this store, so many great items. You can ask for a sample, which is great too. I love online shopping but its great to see things in person.
Their shelves have the same smelling perfumes. The old lady smell Elizabeth Ardin smell red door or the Gardenia smell. Yuck. Come with something day time fresh complex yet fun romantic and new. Maybe a focus group on that instead of assuming everyone thats not wearing heels and a ton of make up is in there to steal.
Of the many Sephora locations Ive been to, this is the best one. The customer service is phenomenal, you wont go there and not find help. The perk facial was so great, I highly recommend it. Mahdis did mine and was so attentive and tailored it to my concerns. They have great stock of items (there were a few sold out but Im guessing its because of the rouge sale). The location is awesome too, parking is easy to find and inexpensive.
From what Ive seen there are mixed reviews on this location. Id like to say that my personal experience, is a good one. I usually do have people asking me if Id like help and what not, which can be slightly uncomfortable since Im not the most social person. I do enjoy going here though. Considering it /is/ a makeup store I think it has some pretty good makeup.
Just an overall amazing experience even gave me a free birthday gift !!!!!
This Sephor is smaller than most but still really cute and has a lot of different brands. Though I wish they carried more Milk makeup, they have many more brands. Employees are very friendly and try their best to help out.
A great selection of cosmetics and perfumes, and lovely associates to help you discover new products and methods.
A bit small, the location is convenient. The staff are very kind and especially helpful when looking for a product, even if you dont have a specific brand in mind, they can find you an affordable option that will work for your needs.
Honestly hate this store so much. I go in frequently because I work downtown and every time I go in I get followed around for no reason, mind you I never leave without buying something. Last time I was in I was stared at by 4 workers standing around me as I looked at a display and they all bombarded me one after the other asking if I needed help. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but it makes for an extremely uncomfortable shopping environment.
As my wife says: They have the best selection of cosmetics in town. Friendly staff and great location.
The staff is so very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The product! Purchased was great for me and my granddaughter is very impressed with her purchase
Just had to pick up a couple of items. Wasnt sure if they carried my face wash, but after picking up my new brow pencil, I turned around and there it was!! I was in and out of the store in 10 minutes- no line at the register today!
I have always had a good experience at this location. The employees are very nice and know when to give you the space you need to browse...I have never had a rude or snobby exchange from anyone here, whether I have purchased something or not.
I was dreading having to shop for makeup for my wedding, but I arrived at the store and was instantly taken care of. James did a mini makeover for me and showed me his favorite products. Ended up with the best makeup Ive ever had and I felt so beautiful on my wedding day!
Seriously best customer service. They are so sweet
After surviving many years of not knowing how to apply makeup, suddenly I needed to know in order to be camera ready. I walked in to this Sephora not knowing anything about makeup and feeling very intimidated, which completely turned around as soon as I asked Fatima for help. She was EXCELLENT. She patiently listened to my somewhat rambling rant of heyyy I need to look like I know how to put makeup on, and I dont know how to put makeup on... and like a genie gave me this look of oh yeah. I know exactly what you need. It only took her several minutes to show me the exact type of products I needed, perfectly matched to my skin tone, with a super clutch tutorial of how to apply everything - I looked in the mirror and couldnt believe it was my face, and I left feeling so confident! I have gotten so many compliments with using her recommended products and application technique - and not compliments on makeup - people saying I have a beautiful natural glow. It is UH-MAZING. Would highly recommend this place for their awesome selection of products, and Fatima is a wizard.
Always helpful. Its smaller, but they get me what I need, if they dont have it, they order it for me.
My mom and I came in here last Sunday, and while this is my preferred Sephora store in the metro area we had an unpleasant experience. The employees were over bearing and kept insisting my Mom sign up for the VIB emails, even though she politely declined at least three or four times. Then the same employee followed us around and looked in our basket and let us know we qualified for a free facial. I said no thanks, as I had taken the time to apply my makeup less than two hours before we arrived and didnt want to shop downtown barefaced all day. The employee then proceeded to bug my Mom until she said yes. When the employee walked away however, we got in line and checked out so we could escape being accosted. We were once again pressured to sign up for VIB emails at checkout (I already get them!) with the enticing offer of a free journal if we sign up (who cares?). We kept insisting no. Really disappointed we werent left alone to shop, though the one employee that helped me with Drunk Elephant was amazing and non pushy, so shout out to her for great customer service. Everyone else was insistent and annoying. I hope a manager sees this and reaches out. I previously loved shopping at this location.
Very positive experience. Everyone was so helpful and patient, and Erica (sp?) was extremely kind and SO so helpful with my makeover!
During the day this Sephora is super crowded and they dont have a very large collection. They didnt have 50% of the (4) items I was looking for, which was disappointing. But the team there is pretty helpful, the place is clean and, hey, its Sephora.
This store is hit & miss. I am a woman over 40 who has an account with Sephora, but have been treated rather shabbily at the Downtown Portland store. While it is not as bad as the Seattle store, being a woman who actually could use some advice from an aesthetician is no simple matter, here. The folks on the floor are usually quite chatty with the young tourists that come through, but less so with Portlanders, who may not be so glamorous. So, dress up, bring your shopping bags from LV or the Chanel boutique at Nordstrom, perhaps bring a teen or twenty-something with you and you may bask in the reflected glow of the attention your young companion may receive. You may actually receive eye contact, though briefly.
One of the best Sephoras Ive ever been to. They are still up your a** like all others but at least the employees are nice while doing it. Dont go in on a Saturday, too busy!!
This location has a lot of many great things and the staff (most of them) are very honest with product choosing and money-saving advice.
Wanted to spread the word about PDX Cleaning. Theyre under investigation with the IRS, FBI and Oregon Labor Laws for embezzlement fraud. You may want to get the word around in case your customers pays to get their home cleaned
Probably the best sephora in the pdx metro area!
I love the gaks at Sephora. They are easy to talk to, helpful with product knowledge and informative on latest skin care essentials!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I got my makeup done here for my wedding and I loved it, the makeup artist was Yessi and she was great!
Lots of makeup for your everyday needs. Pay to park or ride public transportation. Right on the max line
Not crazy about the location but this is the best place for my cosmetic bag, do a once a month stop here and they are always helpful if I have questions
I got followed around by a security guard in January. I worked at a nearby store in Pioneer Place, so I would walk in to see if there were any deals during my break. I stopped when the employees made it a point to badger me about coming in too frequently. Statements were made such as, “Back again, I see.” That were then followed by eye rolling. I reported the security guard incident to the manager but nothing significant was done. The security guard that followed me around the store kept looking at me as if he knew something I didn’t. It was an uncomfortable situation. I was dressed nice and I’m sure I didn’t even look like your typical shoplifter, except for the fact that I may have been Latina. I felt racially profiled and targeted. What upset me most is that a black girl called the white security guard on me. I was next to her when she pulled out her walkie to buzz him in. There was no reason for her to have done that other than me trying on some tester products, which is what they are there for. To test. I felt obligated to buy a lipstick that day, but I quickly returned it when I came back to report the situation to the manager. Don’t come to this location. Save yourself the embarrassment and harassment.
Had THE BEST shopping experience at this location. They did a mini makeover and the staff was amazing at their job and as people 👏🏽
Great little store with super helpful staff! Theyve got pretty much everything you need to feel prepped, primed, sparkly, and beautiful!
The location it good, they have a wide variety of products. The one thing I dont enjoy is how pressured I feel by the staff.
Love Sephora! So many great products.
This is my favorite Sephora on the west coast. Brandon did a mini makeover for me and was such a pro. I’ve never had someone apply makeup that matched my slightly olive skin tone so well. The other staff are all equally helpful and super nice.
A bit crowded, but staff was helpful and attentive. They have a good range if products.
Very helpful staff.showed me exactly what I asked for . Good products, cosmetics are always expenive but...
Get your face vacuumed here, what a great feeling. So weird.
Well,Sephora is Sephora! What I liked about this location was the genuinely attentive and helpful staff. Yes, I approve.
Nice place with friendly knowledgeable staff!
Normal Sephora but its always a pleasure
Lauren was AMAZING and totally helpful, Ill definitely be returning for her help!!
Couldn’t find my shade. Slim darker shades pickings
Mixed feelings. There has been a time or two I’ve asked my partner to run into Sephora for me if I needed something last minute as he works downtown a few blocks away. They are always great and a huge help. I can call and ask them to hold something or he has been able to go in with a text from me and get help. However, this is usually during their “slow” time. I get that they get busy, but anytime I go in there and it’s busy the service is beyond horrible.Today (a Saturday afternoon) I went in and had several things in my hands and was hoping to get some help. Instead, I stood next to the greeter who was gossiping with someone about a mutual friend for a good 15 minutes. I ended up leaving. She didn’t even look at me once.To them, a few hundred bucks isn’t much so I get that they just don’t care, but to me it is a lot. I’ll go to other Sephora locations for my purchases from now on. At least I know they’ll help my partner if I ever ask him to run in for me.
Good selection of mens fragrances
Amazing friendy service, they helped to choose cruelty free/Vegan makeup there was Kat Von D, MILK brand between other brands I also applied for Sephora credit card and I received 15% off I highly recommend this Sephora 😊👌
Its a fun Cosmetics store for make up and stuff like that.
I have been a long time customer of Sephora and I spend quite a bit of money buying skincare and makeup. I’ve always been a huge fan of Sephora but today I received the worst customer service in my life by a manager at the downtown Portland location (413 SW Morrison Street Portland, OR 97204).I had planned to stop by Sephora to make a return and to pick up some new skincare products. I had been researching lots of new skincare products and was set on purchasing them from Sephora today. I thought it would be easier if I made the return first, however, the manager that was doing the return basically blamed me for having a defective product. She was very rude, unprofessional, and was unwilling to give me a return/exchange for the product I had previously purchased. The product I wanted to return was the OUAI Dry Shampoo (4.6 oz) which I bought in June 2019. The nozzle didn’t spray in a mist like it’s supposed to. It would spray out liquid and much of the product oozed down the bottle every time I attempted to spray it. Essentially, the nozzle on the spray was defective. I also tried to unclog it by running it under hot water but that didn’t work. When I tried to spray the dry shampoo once again, much of the product oozed down the side of the bottle.I explained all of this to the manager but she still wouldn’t allow me to return/exchange the dry shampoo. She said it was my fault for using up all the product and if the spray didn’t work I should have returned it right away instead of trying to run it under water, doing test sprays, etc. She accused me of using it all up and now trying to make a return which is untrue. I showed her my receipt and explained that I recently bought the dry shampoo in June and there’s no way I could have used up the entire bottle in 1 month. Once again she stated, you used up the entire bottle so if you want a new dry shampoo you are going to have to pay for it. No exchanges/no returns.I told her that I am telling the truth, however the dry shampoo was a defective product because the nozzle was broken. For her to suggest that I should just buy another one makes it seem like she is blaming the customer for a defective product. The manager tried to speak over me instead of listening to what I had to say. She was argumentative and accusing. Instead of replacing it and providing excellent customer service (which Sephora prides itself on), I felt like I was being penalized for a defective product. It’s not my fault that I bought a dry shampoo that didn’t mist properly. After several minutes of going back and forth (Me trying to explain the situation with the defective dry shampoo and the manager replying back with rude comments, saying things like she refuses to replace it, just buy another one, etc), she finally did an exchange for me. While the manager was ringing me up, she went on to say very unprofessional and condescending comments like, “I don’t agree with you at all, we’re not penalizing our customers. I don’t agree with returning/exchanging this product for you but I’ll do it anyway. I shouldn’t have to replace this for you because you used up all the product. But I’ll do it for you this ONE time if it makes you happy. You really should just buy another dry shampoo.”After that encounter with the Sephora manager, I decided it’s not worth it to shop at Sephora anymore. This experience has ruined shopping at Sephora for me. From now on I am going elsewhere to buy makeup, skincare, dry shampoo, etc. I left the store and didn’t even buy the skincare products I initially wanted to buy because the manager was so rude. I’ve always thought highly of Sephora but now I will never shop at Sephora again because of my interaction with this manager.
Favorite makeup store in Portland. excellent service
This Sephora has poor customer service, I have spent HUNDREDS of dollars here and they will follow me around like I’m a thief without fail. I understand that loss prevention is a huge priority, but so is making customers feel welcome. I usually just stop at Ulta or the Sephora at Clackamas
This store has converted me to true Sephora loyalist. I’ve found some of my all-time fav products with the help of the experts working here. I love their return policy (who doesn’t?!) and their rewards program, big of which encourage me to be more adventures than I would otherwise. I’ve kind of been spoiled for other makeup stores, which is distressing since I’ve moving to a place without a local Sephora 😱
A bit crowded but plenty of reps around to assist. And wish they carried more products in store.
This location is kinda small but the service is really great. Whenever I come in I feel like I can always have some help. The lines can get a little long when it comes to checking out and definetly dont go on a saturday or sunday cause its super busy.
I was the black man my buddie alex of the last review and he is completely right they racially profiled us and had security harass and treat us like thieves as soon as we entered the storeThe store clerk was rude and dismissive and made are experience one i will never forget they are racist and i recommend that all potential customers aviod them and choose another place to spend your hard earned money
Horrible customer service. Me and my black friend went in there to buy makeup and we were followed around the whole time, this has never happened to me when I am there alone. Anytime someone would ask do you need something? They would look at his hands as if he was going to steal??? This especially came from the girl with long pink hair. We never bought anything and left after we noticed the problem.
Big store, lots of variety, confusing check out with the mirror behind the counter it looks like another part of the store
Great place to be ignored by haughty unprofessional staff, then followed around by security if you dont feel like putting on a full face of makeup and dressing up just to make the staff here happy. I dont wear makeup on my days off to give my skin a break & usually dress casually. The only time I had a good experience in this store was coming in before work when I had a full face with falsies on and my hair down + done. I guess I need to do this every time to be treated decently in this store?Came in, was ignored by the blonde employee standing there clutching a basket chatting with other employees. Okay then. Picked up my own basket off the pile on the floor and started shopping.I asked for a sample and the employee gave me such a nasty look! This staff member made a point to take down my Sephora insider info as well, and proceeded to lean against the wall and stare at me next to another staff member for the remainder of my short visit.Usually the staff isnt friendly/professional until I get to the counter and give my VIB Rouge number, then they start treating me like a human being.Vegas & Seattle sephoras are MUCH nicer, more organized and well stocked. NEVER had the problems I consistently have atPortlands Pioneer Square Sephora. I picked up the wrong lip gloss shade today (it was in the wrong spot, no surprise there) and Ill probably wait to exchange it in Seattle because this stores staff is so unprofessional and unpleasant.
This store has horrible customer service. I work 2 blocks away and have Been In This store several time think oh they just must be busy, but thats just me being to nice. No one ever offers to help and when I ask for help they help for 30 seconds and end up helping another customer. I will just stcj to driving out of my way to go to the Sephora in Washington square
Friendly and helpful staff, as expected from Sephora. Went during lunch and knew exactly what was needed, so was in and out in 10 mins.
Location can feel a little cramped during peak hours, but the staff is always very helpful! Never had a bad experience.
Super nice & helpful staff
This use to be my favorite Sephora but last week I had such a horrible experience that I will not returning. I was knowingly followed throughout by the new security guard, and when I mentioned it to my cashier (who then told the manager) I was simply told that he was for their protection (which was odd because I dont remember being threatening). The guard must of overheard because he wandered over to the exit on my way out. The day after I went back to purchase something quick and the same guard followed me and my fiancé. The worst part was that as he spent all this following me and my fiancé, another woman was stealing lipstick.
Jet, I cant thank you enough. I walked in Sephora and felt a little embarrassed, but you instantly changed the atmosphere with your professional attitude. I had some minor forehead acne and had just planned to slink my way through the countless shelves of makeup and grab the nearest concealer, but you pulled me aside and took me under your wing. I cannot thank you enough, I will try to come back soon.
