DO NOT USE DANIELS. Was with the company for one year and have left. What does that tell you? They will get you in an auto delivery contract then keep topping off your tank so they can overcharge you. They even have a name for it- its called a run out delivery. They are in business to deceptively overcharge you. If you call to complain they put you on what they call the phone tree to get rid of you. The techs will openly complain about how the company is awful and has gone down hill. Once they have your credit card they will keep charging you even if you dont order oil hoping you wont notice so PLEASE save your money and go elsewhere.

From the estimation through to the installation Daniels was extremely professional and responsive to our questions. We could not have been happier. The crew was was excellent - exceeding our expectations from start to finish (and our house was not an easy install!!). We are just thrilled with the Mitsubishi units.

I have been a Daniels customer for many years and recently came to yet another realization as to why. Woke up to no hot water, technician here within a few hours, came to understand entire furnace needed replacement. Team spent hours rigging up a temporary hot water heater to use until replacement furnace could be installed and then family member came down with COVID, postponing installation. EVERYONE I dealt with-from phone, to technicians, to sales, to installation, to billing went above and beyond to provide support. I will be a Daniels customer forever and encourage others to join me.

Im not a customer. I came across a vintage thermometer that was an advertising premium from this company from many years ago, and mailed it out to them, giving them back a small piece of their family history. I didnt expect anything in return; I was simply doing a good thing for people Id likely never meet. Its how the world should work. A family member referred us to Daniels Energy regarding a problem we had with the cooling system. We were very pleased with Daniels Energy from time of initial contact of our A/C problem to final installation of a new system. Technician was very professional when examining out old system and advising on a new one, and providing a cost estimate. The new unit arrived as scheduled and we got an estimate of how long it would take to install. When the day came, Daniels sent two crews who were able to install the new A/C system in half the estimated time. They worked efficiently and cleaned up the work areas upon completion. We recently had a new boiler system installed by Daniels Energy. Daniels is and has been an extremely trustworthy and reliable company throughout the years we have contracted with them for our annual oil delivery and service. Leading up to this project, everything was perfectly explained and all our questions were answered very well. On the day of the install, they arrived on time and completed the job in a day leaving no mess at all. We appreciate all Daniels did to make this project go smoothly. We especially appreciated the friendly demeanor of each person we dealt with from John Daniels, Tina and the office personnel to the employees who completed the installation of our new boiler system. Call yesterday before the storm as we were low on propane for the generator with the hurricane coming. The lady on the phone was very honest that they were very busy and couldnt promise a delivery the next day. Sitting on the porch Saturday morning sure enough 9:00 in the morning Daniel truck shows up and makes the propane delivery. The driver number was 83 didnt really get his name very nice person Im sure hes very busy but took the time to talk for a couple minutes Daniels is the best.

I am a long time heating oil and maintenance client of Daniels Energy. Their oil prices have been one of the most competitive in our region.My upstairs central AC broke down in July of 2021 when the summer was at prime. I called few places for quote and John Daniels came to my house to discuss my options .He was very pleasant and professional. He explained what is needed for the new AC. I recently reached out to Daniels Oil to inquire about the removal of a 500-gallon propane tank. Alana was more than helpful and within the hour I got a call from Dave. Dave then coordinated with a landscaper they work with and had them contact me. Within 24 hours, I had a scheduled date for the removal of my tank and within just a few days, it was removed. It was a welcome change to deal with everyone at Daniels Oil. There was no Voice Response Unit – just real, live and very personable and knowledgeable people. In that time, there have been many and varied services they have provided for me from installing the furnace, to maintaining the AC, to repairing anything when it breaks down. I hired Daniels Energy to install a new central air conditioning system in my home to replace a failed 21-year-old system installed when the house was built. I have to say that I was very pleased with the whole experience. The sales rep, Keith Tyler, evaluated my homes cooling needs and recommended a system to most efficiently meet those needs.He took the time to explain the various features and options in detail and answer all my questions. On the scheduled installation day, the installers arrived on time and were very professional. They worked quickly and efficiently to remove the old system and install the new system in its place. The finished job was very well done and they did a great job cleaning everything up before they left. The lead installer tested the system and patiently showed me how to program the new thermostat. The new system was installed in July and has performed flawlessly so far. I will be calling Daniels Energy when it is time to replace my heating system.

This is the second time I used Daniels Energy for a major installation and again I was completely satisfied. In 2019 it was for a new boiler (System 2000 and we LOVE LOVE it). This time for a new A/C system (16 SEER Trane). The team was first class all the way, showed up on time, finished on time, explained everything to me, and answered all my questions. You will find cheaper prices but you will always worry if they will show up to fill your oil tank when you need it the most. Not with Daniels Energy. We had Daniels replace our first floor A/C including both inside and outside units......they were the only company out of 3 companies contacted that provided 3 detailed quotes/proposals with different options. (One company wrote the quote on a spiral bound notebook paper and one company never got back to us with anything). The work was performed by numerous technicians and the workers were polite, cleaned up, and Daniels provided us with a beautiful efficient A/C system which quite quickly cooled the house and kept my electric meter running lower! Highly recommend this company and their entire wonderful group of employees and owners. The pricing and payment options were quite reasonable and we were able to pay cash based on the entire job rather than having to finance!

I was using petro and they wanted 1,200$ for a part that didn’t need replacing. Daniels came in and fixed that same problem in 4 minutes. Completely different part. We have had Daniels Energy for propane service for about a year. We decided to do business with the Daniels Co. because the offered a good propane price. The change to Daniels from another company went painless, Daniels took care of the exchange of tanks. I was shopping around for a company that would be able to service our boiler and they said they would be able to do it. So far we have not needed that service but I feel confident when the time comes that we need our boiler serviced we will get the good service that we have been so far.

I normally do not post public reviews but this by far is the worst customer experience that I ever have had, period. I have ordered many oil deliveries but when a driver / oil technician feels the need to chide you for failure to clear a path in the snow to make ease of a delivery; threaten to hold out said delivery but then act the martyr that he has done you a favor and call you your first name when you do not know this person from Adam and say, “we’re good”. I do not appreciate that kind of rudeness as a paying customer and disrespect on my property. I am pretty sure, if I showed up and let my frustrations out; it would not go so well with my employer. To add further insult, I proceed to send a note to their customer service team (now granted it may have been with edge as this individual also had the conversation in earshot with my family and showed up making my wife late for an appointment, so I was frustrated); I was told that is that expectation that I clear paths and “that many customers do this” and that this can be exhausting for the technicians to do their jobs especially if they do these deliveries 20 to 50 times a day. Well, okay. My point is the disrespect on my property.Bottom-line: If you like to be told that you did the wrong thing and that you should accommodate all aspects of the service provider (even though you have paid thousands of dollars in terms of giving them business in the past ); followed by attitude across the board, I guess this is the right company for your oil and service delivery. No thanks, I will take my business elsewhere.

A great one stop shopping for propane heating install and supply of propane. Everyone from beginning to end was a pleasure to deal with. our install was on one of the hottest weeks so I bought Italian Ices and cold waters for the guys and they were more than gracious and appreciative for the gesture. the guys were easy to talk to and after completion, they showed how to use the system and explained everything. they answered all our questions. This company will gouge you. They over charged me for a year and I had over $2,000 in a credit with them. I have asked multiple times for my money back. They continue to deliver oil and use my credit. Before this I was sold insurance by them for my water heater, when I tried to use the it conveniently did not cover it. Then they tried to charge me 3k to replace my water heater it was almost $1,700 in labor for a 3 hour job. When I asked how is this justified I was told, They have trucks to pay for.I pay extra for a yearly cleaning and price lock, but they never call to set up appointments. Dumping them as soon as I can get my money back.Daniels is like a bad gym membership, they get you on board with promises of service, then deliver none of it and make it hard to break free.

I had a Mitsubishi model MUZ-GL12Na double split AC/heat unit installed by Daniels Energy on 7-30-2019 in my finished basement. At the time, I was using a 10,000 BTU a/c with a hose venting out the basement window. This setup was not very efficient, and eventually caused an oily/fuel odor due to being close to the furnace area.The Daniels staff, from Sales Rep. Keith Tyler to the installation crew were very speedy, thorough and professional. Keith did a great job with the basement assessment and estimate.The installer crew used an existing piece of sheet rock to mount the pump unit, and I’m very happy with the results and highly recommend Daniels Energy.This review is exactly a year later, and with a decent sized finished basement, I leave it on the dehumidify setting, and it works great :-).Settings are 72.9 degrees / humidity level 34 at far corner, and 69.6 degrees / humidity level 41 nearby the unit, and it is very comfortable. Also the heating unit worked very well this past winter.It is also totally quiet, and you dont even hear that it is on unless you look and see 2 green lights that are on.I highly recommend this model/unit.cheers, Rick Whipple

Paid for an air conditioning tune up and explained that there was an issue with the system not working properly. The technician did not address the issue and when we called the office to request a follow up we were told it would be an additional $139 service charge and they would be able to come a week later. This in the midst of a heat wave. Poor unreliable service, overcharge in price, no concern that a long time customer needs service. Unacceptable to leave a customer without air conditioning for a week!

Daniels just installed a new furnace for us and we couldnt be happier! In 2012 we had a heat-pump system installed by them and were very happy. it worked great for heat and we finally had a way to get air conditioning without putting in 4 portable air conditioners every summer and taking them out every fall. Fast forward to December 2019 and we called to have the system cleaned. We initially had a problem with customer service on that issue, but, took a chance and wrote to John Daniels who resolved our issue quickly and very much to our satisfaction. Then a couple months later, we needed a new furnace. Again, I wrote to John Daniels and got a quote from him and 2 other companies. Daniels beat out both companies by at least $800. We went with Daniels again and were very happy we did. Every person we dealt with, John, Rob in service and the installers were all very professional and very helpful. A couple days later, I called to ask about having a new thermostat installed. Rob had someone out there the same day! I was off from work that day, so I really appreciated that! They also connected me to a link for financing for the furnace that made the process very easy to go through. I hardly had to do anything, just fill out some paperwork and fax it. They took care of the rest and I pay for it monthly with my electric bill. The best thing about all this is being able to use the heat-pump system or the furnace for heat depending on which one is cheaper, the electric or the oil. I can switch back and forth...and, I have air conditioning with the touch of a remote in every room! There are bad apples everywhere and people sometimes are just having a bad day, so, at the end of the day, give them another chance, talk to someone different, or go above them. Youll be happy you did, we were! We highly recommend Daniels Energy!

Had Mitsubishi split mini AC installed and am more than satisfied with the system. The final install was different than the original plan but am very happy with the installation as done. Also very pleased with the two installers who did an amazing job.

We moved to Glastonbury in May 2019 and needed an oil company for fuel oil and burner service. After doing our research we chose Daniels Energy. From the very start our experience has been nothing short of excellent. Customer service is their top priority. In October we determined that we needed to replace our oil burner and 2 zone valves. Daniels provided us with a quick quote, helped us obtain a low interest loan through Energize CT, and then a very neat and clean installation of our new burner system. We had a propane parlor stove installed after decades of burning wood. We are very pleased with the stoves ease and output of heat, and the quality service we have received from Daniels. As an example: On a Sunday, before leaving early on Monday for an extended period, we realized that our propane would need filling while we were gone. Since the office was closed on a Sunday, I emailed Dave DeTuccio to please order our delivery by the end of the month. Consider it done was his reply and it was indeed done. The gauge on the oil tank was faulty when we purchased out home causing us to overpay over $400 at closing. Daniels could not have been more helpful in getting us the correspondence necessary to help us get reimbursed.I have found them to be very responsive and reliable. We have been Daniels Energy propane customers for over 10 years. They consistently provide the best product and customer service. We recently purchased a ductless AC/Heating system from them. The sales and installation teams were just great. They were on time and kept us informed of their progress. They were also polite, extremely knowledgeable, and even took the time to reassure my Golden Retriever Maggie that everything was OK even though they were making noise in her home. Everything was picked up and left as it was before they came. We have had them back to check out some things on the AC system and to answer our questions regarding how it is supposed to work. Again, first-class customer service all the way. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

Hello, Ive had my ups and downs with Daniels over the past 8 years. I use them for Propane, oil, and service to both and a/c.However this last experience was. great and greatly appreciated. After we lost power for 6 days and when we turned our a/c on once the power was restored and the a/c coil froze trying to bring the temp down from 84 degrees to 72 degrees. I called Daniels on Sunday and they had a guy at my home in 30 mins. even though everyone else in Durham was in the same situation. You see the next day was my daughters birthday and this would be the first time since March she was able to see her friends because of Covid19 pandemic. I told Daniels this and they cared enough to go above and beyond.The guy came (I forgot his name and I hope someone from Daniels replys with his name to this review)He saw the coil froze. Now this has happened to me about 5 times over the years. Everyone else just would say turn off your a/c and tomorrow once its thawed we will come back and fix it.However, he advised me to turn the heat on and that would thaw it out in 10-20 mins and he will fix it then.He waited, and 15 mins later it worked and he stated to work on it.That would have been great enough on its owned.However, when I saw him grab my hose and go to the a/c unit outside, I was blown away. He went above and beyond once again. He was cleaning out all the junk and grime that over the years was clogging up my unit. No one asked him to do it, he just did it. That helped so much, but to see him in the mud in 95 degrees weather going above and beyond for my family, for my daughter made me want to write this review.Everything is better, and its 100% because this guy cared about his job, and helping us. Someone else would have just done the bare minimum and not have help as much. People that want to help and fix the problem deserve praise. He went above and beyond and we are truly grateful. He helped make my soon to be 9 year old daughter tomorrow, birthday that much better. Thank you! Thank you! They delivered fuel to our home at 1:15 am, which was GREATLY appreciated since my two elderly in-laws live with us. Daniels Fuel—great company, excellent customer service, highly responsive!

They were professional, efficient, and completed the installation in the timeline provided. The service techs explained the new system in detail, and Glen setup the interconnected thermostats to operate efficiently for our home. This company is absolutely wonderful. We have used them for a few years for our automatic oil deliveries, but recently had them install a heating/cooling system this summer. From start to finish I can’t say how professional, and friendly every single person was. They arrived on time, never left a mess, and even interacted with my curious kids and cat haha The prices were fair, and the team went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. This company has our endless praise and future business.

We called Daniels to install central air with a new furnace. They gave us an reasonable quote and came in and did exactly what they said they were going to do. I have been a customer of Daniels Oil ever since I owned a home (about 14 years). Recently I needed an upgrade for a 50 year old furnace which was on its last leg. They converted my existing oil boiler to a high efficiency gas boiler. The techs did an amazing and clean job and Lori and Rick in the office made sure everything went smoothly every step of the way. Any questions or issues that arose, they took care of with top notch customer service. I highly recommend them for any home heating or cooling needs.

Just spoke to Penny this morning at Daniels due to us not having hot water this morning. She was very helpful and got us an apt for a service call for tomorrow. We are so thankful that they were able to set that up for us so quickly and appreciate her as well as Daniels. They are our sole provider for Propane which heats our home and hot water and have been for over 6 years.

I have been a customer for over 20 years and always have received excellent service without any interruptions or delays. When it came time to replace my HVAC system I gladly chose Daniels. This decision was influenced by my excellent service track record. However, the final decision was also based on competitive feedback that convinced me that I was purchasing the most reliable equipment for a competitive price. This coupled with what I knew to be decades of excellent service, with a company that stands behind its customers, made the choice an easy one.

We had our old fuel tank replaced last week by Daniels and they did an absolutely meticulous job! Knowing what a messy job that can be, especially in tight quarters, we were very concerned about the old tank removal process in particular. After they had left, the only way we knew that the job was done was when we saw the new tank in the utility room!

Recently converted from oil to propane and hired Daniels to perform this work. Very happy with the conversion. They were on time and ready to go everyday. Reasonable price and service support. I have a long history with Daniels and never been disappointed.

Daniels energy has been our oil company fo 8 years now, so when we decided to install to have the ductless air conditioning installed there was no question who we were going to call. We first called with some questions which were all answered, we were then set up with an appointment for a sales rep. to come out and explain the process further. The sales rep. was very informative and helped answer all of our questions, he also walked us through the financing application on line. Then the install crew showed up on time and worked together like a well oiled machine, by the end of the day we had central air. What an excellent and stress free experience this was I would and have, highly recommend Daniels energy anyone.Jim Riley

Very upset with this company right now. They came by and filled up our tank with an auto delivery and we were still very good on propane. We called customer service for them to make US feel like the bad guys, VERY manipulative tactics they use when their customer is upset. THEY DO NOT care about their customers because they do not allow you to call when you would like to refill the tank. They FORCE YOU in auto delivery and speak very rudely over the phone with attitudes, NO apology but instead want the CUSTOMER to feel bad like THEY should be the one to apologize for being upset. DO NOT go with this company.

Worst customer service ever!!! My father was a customer for 20 years and recently changed oil companies. He died in 2019 so I didnt know that he no longer used Daniels Oil Company. The telephone operator was VERY rude stating that he wasnt a customer despite me having several bills in front of me with their information.She didnt realize that since they had upgraded to online system, he wasnt in there. Then she proceeded to be short but took the time to inform me that when I moved into my new house, I could set-up an account. No RUDIEST!!!! I dont even live in your state, stupid.

We’ve been using Daniels since we moved to Connecticut 13 years ago, and their service has always been excellent. This past summer, we needed to purchase a new heating and air conditioning system. The crew arrived on time, worked diligently, and answered all of my questions. They left our place clean and neat, too!

My father in law Jack S. had a great experience with Daniels. He got the best price and service! The installation crew and electrical crew were real pros. Daniels is lucky to have such employees. What can I say about Daniels??? I have been a customer for a long time and would not go any where else. They are always there when you need them. They are reliable and very knowledgeable. I just had a new furnace put in by them and I am very happy. Definitely would recommend them.

For over 25 years Daniels Oil has provided great service when we need them. Recently a switch on the water heater broke, we called them at 3 pm Sunday afternoon; they were there at 3:30 and 15 minutes later we had hot water. Once they came out Sunday night to get our furnace running.

Daniels has serviced our boilers and delivered oil for many years and we are very happy with their services.

We recently had the need to have our furnace cleaned and serviced as we do every year. Daniels Energy assess that there was a major issue as carbon monoxide was being emitted into our condo. They immediately assessed to problem. Daniels energy was able to present two options for replacement and completed the installation of the new furnace in less than a day. Daniels was extremely profession, fair and honest. There was no drama or surprises. Daniels Energy is committed to excellence and we will continue to use them for our heating and energy needs.

Daniels Energy was strongly recommended by a local builder and am absolutely satisfied with the Mitsubishi split zone air conditioning units--very energy efficient! Installation by knowledgeable and efficient people went very smoothly and finished ahead of schedule. Very pleased with the service and highly recommend to others.

A company that might be too big for its own good. My recent interactions with them did not result in me becoming a customer despite trying to, not very responsive, did not seem worried about NEW customer acquisition.

We had to have a hot water heater and burner replaced. We needed it done asap and didnt have time to get quotes. I feel they totally took advantage of the situation. I checked online to see what the price(retail) was of the hot water tank and burner(same units) and Im pretty sure they got it whole sale. So yes, we got screwed! They charged us about $2000.00+ for labor, which averaged about $500.00 an hour. In my book, no one is worth that!!! Thank you Daniels Oil

Ive been a customer ever since they took over for Higganum Oil. This year, I had to have my boiler replaced. From the first contact with the sales rep, all the way to the final signoff, everything was handled professionally. We had a mishap during the installation (mistakes happen!), and it was handled beautifully and to my complete satisfaction. Prior to the incident, I had given one of the employees some money as a tip to share among the installers, as I was impressed with their work ethic. The incident happened, and this young man gave back the tip of his own volition. I told him I wasnt going to ask for it back, and his response was that he didnt feel right keeping something when there was an error made. THIS is the kind of person that Daniels Energy hires. You cant get that kind of customer service just anywhere. Not only was I completely impressed with this young man, but I was super-impressed with how the mishap was handled in such a timely manner. Im afraid Daniels is stuck with me as a customer... :-)

First Rate Customer Service is what you can expect. I have been completely impressed by how responsive they have been to every email request Ive made. To date, this has been a very superior company to work with.

My August 2016 electric bill showed 943 KWH of usage running one window AC unit. My August 2017 bill showed 936 KWH running my new whole-house ductless system. Our experience with Daniels was very good from start to finish. No complaints, but much comfort.

Company took over Brazos oil recently. I always called Brazos for “inexpensive” oil and they would deliver within a day or two. Now when I called I can order oil online for a cheaper price which is wrong, and on top of it, they will get here when they can. . I have enough oil that will last out the point of the matter is that they are not carrying over the customer service/ family feel that Brazos offered . This will be the last time I use this place .

We have a high end heating system that was installed by the previous owners. The Daniels Energy techs really understand the system which is a big comfort. The last time one was over, he went above and beyond, explaining details of the system to me and even installing a new electric outlet to make the connections easier. A+ service indeed.

They did an excellent job retrofitting our home with Mitsubishi split AC units. Both the sales and installation staff worked hard to minimize the visual impact of the lines and did an excellent job. One of the condensate lines had a leak and they promptly fixed it.
