How do I love DQ Ill rate it more than 5 if I can.
Same dq in the same location since 72my fav place next to my original grade school and a childhood home on 67th st and 48th st
Outside seating only but awesome atmosphere. Kids are semi-quick with taking and making your order, and ice-creams are size you expect for price. And its DAIRY QUEEN
Friendly enough staff. Decent prices. Great treat for the kiddos on a warm day. And who doesnt love a blizzard?
Just went through drive through on my 30 min lunch break ordered a couple burgers and they had me park I waited in my car for over 25 minutes so I figured something went wrong and now I don’t get to eat, went up to window and was ignored until I physically knocked on the window, I proceeded to let them know I had ordered about 25 minutes ago and now I can’t wait for them to cook it I have to go back to work. They offered me NOTHING but my money back and a very not empathetic apology. Will not be returning in fear of not being able to even get served properly. Nobody is wearing a hair net or using gloves and I did not see a single person wash hands when making ice cream. DO NOT EAT HERE.
Yall should be familiar with DQ by now. This location has friendly service. Drive through entrance is a bit short and made me wonder how the heck they manage not clogging traffic if they get busy, but in any event, food and ice cream was great as usual. And this location even gave me a lil doggy ice cream for my pooch on the scorching day that we went.
Been here twice so far and loved each visit. Great customer service both times, food was delicious, and had a old time homey feel that we really loved. This restaurant definitely has class! 😊
Dq is Dq, they by defenition, taste awesome. I cannot think of one bad, negative situation at DQ. Been that way since I was a kid and still as almost an old man.
This place would be great if Corey the transphobe didnt work here! Refusing service to trans folks is not only HIGHLY ILLEGAL, but absolutely immoral and I am appalled by the utter apathy managers have expressed about this.Fire Corey & apologize to those your business hurt.
I ordered a Oreo brownie earthquake from this location on postmates, when I got it, it was ALL WHITE!! No fudge sauce AT ALL, no Oreo pieces on top, they just put vanilla ice cream on top of a brownie. Really?? I don’t even have words for how disappointing this was. Never going to this location in person.
Good food as always. No indoor seating and limited outdoor. Fair weather walk up or drive through year around.
This place is awesome and now a land mark. The food is always fresh and wonderful. Went to Franklin across the street and came here for lunch alot in 4 years.
I bet in the summer the parking lot is full and parking/drive thru is an issue. Otherwise this is an ideal quick eats spot for soft serve. Their burgers are great too, and the service is fast. Completely accessible to for those who may require ADA accessibility. It was a bit dirty (trash laying around, trash cans over filled..also did not see a recycling receptacle either), but I visited around 8:30pm so it wasnt outrageous considering the time.
Food is obviously great. Service is also good but just beware there is only outdoor seating. We came on a rainy day and we stood under the overhang.
I love this place its really cute and ran very nicely. Used to go here as a child its pretty cool its still here. Love dairy queen always.
Great food. Burger hot and fresh as well as fries. They forgot my Blizzard but made it for me fast and no problem.
Sometimes in life, you just need a blizzard. Experienced that? Yes? Me too. The Dairy Queen on 55th and Division is my go-to for a good cookie dough blizzard. They have a full service (such as grill and ice cream), but I have not actually tried the food at this location. Great ice cream though!
The outside appearance is very dumpy and run down and looks dirty the service is pretty fast though. The parking and drive thru area also is a nightmare. The prices are pretty outrageous as well.
I like Dairy Queen dipped cones better than Salt & Straw, Ruby Jewel, or any other hipster ice cream.
So I order two chicken baskets for lunch with cream gravy and they only give me one. I have to get back into line for another gravy while my food is getting cold and my ice cream is melting. I now understand completely why this place gets so many one star ratings. I would have given them less if I could have.
I was definitely not impressed with the customer service today 2/5/2019. Usually the customer service is very good, and they are usually very good at correcting order errors (employee error). Today was a horrible experience and I don’t think I will be coming back again. Very sad.
Wish I could say the worst thing was half mixed blizzards. Lets start with the trashy worker who took the order then proceeded to go outside for a cigarette so close to the car that you could smell the smoke coming into my car. Then move on to the other worker who stops to talk to the same guy while holding our food that theyre supposed to be bringing to us. Maybe not letting our food get cold would be a better idea. They literally crumpled up our receipt and threw it away at the window. Probably because ultimately they werent going to give us everything we paid for. If that wasnt bad enough then the actual food was. The chili dogs had clearly been sitting out for hours. HOURS. The wrap had been sitting around awhile as well. There is nothing that would bring us back.
If I would leave zero stars I could. Shift supervisor named Corey refuses service to trans people. Will not be eating there again and encourage others in the community and allies to do the same. Plain and simple.
This dairy queen sucks i stupid theyre for a minute and a half no body even acknowledged i was standing there. Customer service is terrible. I realize dq is not really fast food but Ive cream dont take long and this location is lacking motivation customer service quality and over all demeanor of this place is gloomy
Would give zero stars if I could. Avoid this location until they can hire management that knows what basic human decency is. For shame.
Has gone downhill and expensive. Son I believe has taken over.. since then the service has not been good, portions on some things much smaller and higher$ and he is about the rudest person I have met in awhile. should definitely not work with the public many family and friends will still go once In awhile but very seldom.
A great local dairy queen. Ive been going here for over 20 years. Like any fast food restaurant, it can have off days were quality slips
Its convenient nearby the clinic and mental healthcare buildings it actually tastes like food I havent gotten sick from eating there unlike some other overrated fast food joints and depending on how packed they are the wait time for your order is usually pretty quick they have a drive thru for vehicles and a separate window for those without vehicles for a fast food joint no complaints yet so far there probably are people who disagree but Im not them decide for yourself thats what really matters no matter where you go you have to enjoy it for it to be worth traveling to!
Has some new blizzard flavors. Cant wait for the weather to be better.
A neighborhood location. Very tight parking. Outdoor seating only. Friendly staff. Food was just ok. If its ice cream treats your after, then this is your place.
Good old fashioned dairy queen. Walk up to the window or drive thru to order and than sit out front at picnic tables. Good service and decent presentation. Just the thing on a hot day!
Its a dairy queen. I cant say I have great expectations. But one of the only things I expect is not to wait too long in line. Probably waited 5 minutes just to order. And there were 3 people in front of me. Ice cream was fine, but the wait wasnt. Probably a staffing issue as the drive thru was out to the street.
Don’t go here unless you’re craving disappointment! This location is closed and has been reported as such multiple times.
This is a standard DQ except they cannot get an order right and wont correct it without you paying again and have to wait for them to correct it while you food is getting cold and cold items warm.Tonight was the final straw for me when they didnt get any of my daughters food order correct and they put it on me to provide a receipt that they never provided us and then they pull it out of the trash and point out their mistake and tell me I have to pay and wait again for the food they did not include while everything else sits and warms or cools as we wait.
This location was torn down last year, so I amended this review: Great food; very popular location (very few left in Portland)... The teen-age staff is overworked (probably underpaid)... Be prepared to park your car if you use the drive-thru...
I love this Dairy Queen! The service is fast and friendly, and everything is made relatively well. Only a couple of complaints: their menu is not listed at the order window. You have to walk to the side of the building to find it. Also, I wish they had indoor seating.
Still as good as it was 12 years ago when i would sped my seinior year lunch period there from Franklin High School.
Old fashioned walk up style great tasting food
Great food. We never have very good customer service from there. Waited over 30 mins once
EXTREMELY transphobic management. Repeatedly called trans women who were customers sir even after being corrected, even went to far as to say that he was still respecting them while blatantly misgendering them. I live only a few blocks from here and I will NEVER bring my business here!
Slow service and unreliable order accuracy. I used to go here pretty regularly. Then, I got tired of waiting 20 minutes for my melted sundae. But the real reason they will never see me, again? The complete lack of respect they have for their customers. I just saw a video of a drive through attendant and a manager completely misgendering and denying the existence of transgender people. Even after the customer corrected them the nasty drive through guy continued to call the 2 women,Sir and laughed. The manager not only exacerbated the situation by doing the same AND denying Transgender people exist, but refused to serve the women because they were Transgender and asking to be respected. Go elsewhere for ice cream that isnt tainted by ignorance and hate.
Love me some Dairy Cream! They are the best!
This location has been torn down, it is now an empty lot, It should be marked clearly for folks like me who arent from the area
I cant believe people eat the trash that comes from here. The ice cream is good though.
Better than most as for as fast food goes but outside seating only or order to go
You have to get the Summer Berry Cheesecake Blizzard. 😁
This place is nasty and dirty. The food was over cooked and I was not able to eat it. My daughters side salad looked like it had been sitting for weeks. The manager is so rude my husband saw her push another employee! I will never return to this dairy queen again. Should have asked for my money back as well.
Went here and got the 4 piece chicken tender basket, they flopped everything in the bag, forgot my sisters dilly bar, as she leaves to go grab it I notice I didn’t have my toast that goes with the meal, I asked her about it and she said “oh sorry we ran out of toast” like....okay???? Then you compensate??? They were just not even going to tell me. So I asked for another tender. She goes back in to get me one and I notice she also forgot my drink!!!! Which THEN by the time I got my drink out food was cold. Luckily they gave us some free dilly bars to make up for it..... however I will never be back here.
Dairy Queen’s embodiment of a culture that believes everything must be pushed to the maximalist apex, the Monster Cookie Blizzard is the dessert equivalent of chewing on shrapnel. Every time the spoon dredges into this abomination, it’s fighting through a sea of M&M’s, peanut butter topping, chocolate chunks, peanut butter cookies, and utter sadness at the world we have created. Chewing is about as pleasurable as deciding to snack on the insides of a stapler: It’s sharp, jagged, and completely without reward. The peanut butter is okay, though
Cute neighborhood spot. Love the cherry dipped cones!
I dont think the girls that work there actually know whats on the menu. This was my first time at this Dairy Queen and probably my last. I love this place . Ill never eat there again.
Prompt hot food. Thumbs up for me!!
Love their chicken strip basket. Well worth the price.
Great milkshakes and Burgers with fries.. lots of ice cream choices
Thanks 😊👍 hopefully get a job there ! Love the goodies !
Only disappointment is the French fries always reheated, either then that the food is good.
All the classic DQ treats in a tiny shop on SE Division. Perfect for a step back in time. Cant fault the chocolate cone. No indoor seating & it can be extremely busy on summer weekends.
This is the best DQ in the city, in my opinion. No indoor seating, just a walk up counter and a drive through window, but they always make a delicious Blizzard! Service can be a little slow when they are crowded.
Thwy gave me extra as in i orderd a miny and got the amount of a medium in a miny cup that was great because ut was a hot and sunny day. It was a mess but delicious. Greatly recmond.
I only eat ice cream based food from DQ, but its great!
I have been coming to this location for 20 years. But after a friend and her partner were actively discriminated against because they are transgender women, I will not be returning. Shame on you for this. Trans women like myself and my friends are members of your community. It is SHAMEFUL that you would discriminate against us.
I had a hot dog. Was it the best hot dog ever? No, but for a cheap eat it hit the spot and hanger was averted.
Dangerous location from School there city needs to put up crosswalk and lights to stop traffic before someone gets run over. Food spectacular.
Those lucky Mt. Tabor people have this little gem hiding in their neighborhood. The best fries in the world, hands down.
A transphobic employee refused service to two trans classmates and is being protected by the management.
Fast service. Great tasting food. I love their soft-serve ice cream!
This location seemingly has no knowledge of customer service, people of all stripes visit your restaurant and make you money, and to treat a member of the community with such blatant bigotry and hatred is intolerable. Do not patronize this location! Transphobia has no place in Portland.
Staff was awesome, unfortunately after repeated statements about no sauce I still got sauced.
I went there today, busy as hell.. Had to wait about 3 minutes.. Oh wait, Im not a douche bag like these other idiots who feel as though they are the only people on the planet... I ordered a a banana split... AWESOMEThe staff was the best, fast kind fun and cool... So the next time you get to have the time and the money to have a DQ, Thank your lucky stars you can do that.. Dont be a douche bag and think the world runs around you !
Hands down the best DQ in Portland.!.#greatburgers#greatblizzards#awesomeservice
Ok prices. Good service. Never had any problems here or gotten sick from the food.
Came at a busy time so it was a little slow, but all the food was hot and fresh! Id rather wait to get fresh food any day.
Even as busy as they were they gave great service
Food and blizzard were as expected, pretty solid. However the knock on stars is because they are petty enough to charge 35 cents for an extra packet of bbq sauce for a chicken strip basket. The main reason though was the sacrilege of not flipping my blizzards upside down upon presentation to verify the thickness of the blizzard. I should also mention, when I brought this up they said we dont participate in that. If you serve blizzards under the DQ name then you should participate
Dairy Queen.... their food is great and ice cream is still delicious
The chili dogs tasted like chewy leather! I went there for free cone day. It was first day of spring promotion. My email specifically said it lasted all day and they close at 10. I got there at 7:20 and they said they were done with the free ones at 7. The promotion sign was still in the window and thats the opposite of what the email says. I came from NE and thats the closest one so it was either spend money or wasted time for nothing so tried thier chili dogs and not glad I did they were disgusting and hardly any chilli! Defenitely not approved or recommended by me!
Be forewarned, this is a drive-thru only and the only seating is outside-no inside accommodations. Its neighborhood-located and most people walk there.
Ive really been disappointed with Dairy Queen ever since the original owners has sold all of their stores and now their quality is gone down their prices have went up there advertisements on the menu have not been changed and theyre not very happy about answering questions about it.{{ Im referring to the store @56th & se Division st. }}
Old school dairy queen with delicious ice cream and good specials.
Great place to take the kiddos for ice cream and sundaes
This place is great in the summer with its predominately outside seating. Love a DQ Blizzard :)
This DQ has been my go-to for soft serve for decades! The help is always nice, and - well - DQ!
I love dairy Queen but this was my worst experience ever. They got my order wrong and I had to wait double time in the drive through for my onion rings. They didnt provide or offer ketchup. And finally, all I could taste on my double cheeseburger was mustard. Ick.
Small dairy queen, line goes out into the road sometimes. The food is good as far as diary queen goes.
They keep that place so clean and the staff is wonderful the foods always good
I have ate here several times and always been good
Its Dairy Queen. They have food and ice cream. One of the few with no inside seating.
Peanut buster parfait, hot fudge sundaes, oh, yum
Good fast and burger came with ice cream
I don’t know why I keep coming here after the old owners sold it. I don’t know why all of a sudden they are so stingy with everything. I worked for Dairy Queen for almost 6 years so I know a lot about how they do things. Every blizzard I get is way under portioned and when you order extra of something and they charge you they give you less than what they would have originally. Honestly I think I will drive the extra couple miles to go to a different one.
Have to love this place during the summer. A good Milkshake is always welcome.
Horrible and slow service! Rude staff all 3 times I stopped by especially Curtis. They wouldnt let me use a coupon from new DQ app. Curtis told me to go to another DQ store even though their location pulled up on app as valid location. He clearly could have cared less that he pissed of a customer. Sent complaint in to DQ corporate and they apologized and said they would forward complaint to store owner. I have received no response from store owner and it has been over a month! I will never go to this location again!
My local DQ! Quick service and yummy ice cream. No complaints.
Good burgers and often shakes and floats definitely would recommend this place they often have $5 lunch specials
One of the best Dairy Queens around. Food is always hot and fresh.
Great classic DQ treats, slow service
