This place is absolutely wonderful. It feels so calm and cozy and everyone there is super friendly and eager to help. Ive just recently started crocheting and wanted to get some quality yarn to make a gift for my mother. From the moment I walked in the door I was not only greeted warmly, but made to feel so encouraged with my work! They were more then happy to help me pick out yarn, answer my questions, and explain things to me that I wouldnt have even known to think about. It was a great first experience and Ill defiantly be coming back.

I walked in and was in awe- I think my mouth was open for a good 5 minutes as I perused the store to find what I needed. The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful :)

I’ve always loved Northwest Wool, they have an excellent selection and their staff are always helpful, and today was no different. I came in a little disheartened after having a tough time finding the right yarn for my project, and it was immediately turned around. The woman who helped me gave me excellent recommendations for yarns to use for my pattern, actually listened to me when I needed really particular things for my project, and on the whole made me feel so welcomed in the shop. It turned my whole day around and really helped me find some new energy for a project that had fallen flat. It also doesn’t hurt that they have admirably reasonable prices!

Im always happy when I have an excuse to visit Northwest Wools. Their tall walls lined with yarns of every color and texture are a feast for the eyes. The very polite and friendly staff are happy to help you find what youre looking for and give you advice on your project, but theyre also happy to let you poke around if you would just like to browse on your own. There are always friendly people knitting or crocheting away on the sofas, and I never feel uncomfortable about bringing my older baby along with me -- the atmosphere is excellent and everyone is very accommodating. In addition to a wide selection of natural yarns and friendly people, youll also find a nice selection of patterns and books and fiber-arts-related items; I always grab some of their gift tags when Im there, which have handy little guides on which you can inform the recipient of how to take care of their handmade gift. I do wish their selection of bamboo knitting needles was a bit wider, but those are easily found online.Highly recommended!

Pretty store, just pricey. Walked in for one thing. A circular needle, 30 dollars! Yikes! Amazon 8 dollars for the same needle. I’d love to support a local business and wouldn’t mind paying 20 for it but 30 for just 1 is too high for me!

Super friendly and helpful staff: not only taught me to crochet, but also helped me reserve additional yarn from across the country! Great folks, great stuff!

A friend dragged me in here one day and somehow I signed up for a beginner class with Lynn. Best decision ever!! Now, six months later, Ive fallen in love with knitting. Everyone in this store is nice and knowledgable -- the best combination. Im a fan for life.

This cute little shop sits along the backside of quaint Multnomah village. They have several rooms stacked to the gills with yarn and a back room full of spinning supplies (if its your first time there, ask where it is)Most of my experience here is with spinning fiber, which I found to be of excellent quality and reasonably priced. While staff dont seem to be up-to-date with current online knitting trends, they are super friendly and helpful.

This place is always great. Some of the people on here are ridiculous. Case in point: the guy who went in for years and loved the store, but never thought to leave them a nice review. And yet one day years later he barges in when the store is closed, and then leaves a one star review because they wont/cant sell him stuff when the STORE is CLOSED?? Some people were raised by wolves. The average rating should be even higher than it is, imo. Go check northwest wools out, you will not be disappointed.

Good Noro selection (considering many places around town dont carry it anymore) but the cashier seemed to be hurrying me out of the store, didnt offer to wind my yarn even though I spent over $30. I guess they dont see too many young tattooed and pierced knitters way out in Multnomah Village(kinda doubt it). Or maybe she was busy, but I sort of felt uncomfortable there and just left after paying. She was sort of short with the gal in line before me, too. Will go back of course, but they need to work on the service there, or else Amazon ships in 2 days.
