Those who remember Han Oak will recall its unique and deliciously delightful twist on Korean Fusion. Their new offering, Toki, follows in that same line and executes its trademarked inventive approach to culinary pairings to perfection. Every dish, from the Ramen fried chicken (a staple and must-try) to the sweet beef, is layered in a rich complexity of flavors that seeks to wonder and delight your taste buds, and certainly does not disappoint. Everything we had (and we had the majority of the menu) was incredible. Reservation is highly recommended so you dont miss out on a truly unique experience!
We had a tasty meal here. We had the hand pulled noodles (great to eat a fresh noodle), pork dumplings in this super light sauce, and the buldak Ra-Bokki which came with a small side of pickled veggies. We LOVED the chicken wings that came on top....so perfectly crispy, even after sitting in the sauce. For drinks we had the trust exercise and the rare bird. Both duper tasty.
I love this place. The burger bao is one of the tastiest things on the menu… unique and the best “Big Mac” flavor. I consider it one of my all time top burgers. They recently allowed dine in service which is really well run with QR codes and online ordering. I’m not giving 5 stars due to their dry oil needing to be changed. I love this Korean fried chicken sandwich I generally consider it one of the top of its kind too. Toki has been offering fried donuts and it’s obviously they are frying their chicken in the same oil. You can taste the donuts in the chicken. This stuff happens but it is a recent change I’ve noticed. Otherwise this spot is a 5 star location. Love Toki!
This was our first time and it easily became one of our favorite spots in Portland! We had the Wing Flight, the Bao Burger and the Pork Dumplings, and they were all so flavorful! It felt like the flavors were all so intentionally chosen and the menu items were made with care! What really made the experience extra amazing was that our server Maddie was super kind and attentive! We had a great experience and can’t wait to go back!
Probably the best place we ate at during our whole trip to Portland. The turn offs were the seating outside were not too wide proofed. Bring layers because the food here is too good to pass up. The cocktails were good. I really liked my highball and the jujube old fashion. I could have passed on my friend’s slushy blastoise themed drink (he loved it tho). The photos of the fried chicken do not do them justice and I’m sad about that. Honestly a sound clip of the first bite into the chicken is needed
Love everything we ordered! Fried chicken is so crispy and tender. Gochujang sauce is sweet with hint of spicy. I would love it more if it’s bit more spicy. Boa burger is such unique creation. It combines Bao with hamburger. Awesome. We also ordered pork dumpling and spam hand roll. Both are yummy. Highly recommended!
Best meal I’ve had in a long time. The wings are the fantastic. And, our dumplings too! The flavor is the perfect combo of sweet and tang that finishes with a solid amount of heat! Would recommend to anyone in the area who is looking for familiar foods with elevated taste. I was blown away!
Came here early morning to get a snack and was not disappointed. The ice dalgona coffee with boba was delicious along with the pork belly kimchi ho dduk. I really like the texture of this pan fried bun. The interior had a nice chewiness (reminds me of a mochi style texture). Its definitely a good snack that you can eat with your hands on the go.
I absolutely loved Toki. We went for brunch and had the pork belly sandwich, chicken sausage sandwich, donut flight, and my husband had a melon cocktail. Everything was delicious and fresh. The service was great and our server was kind and responsive. We look forward to going back to try more dishes. Highly recommend.
Overall a fantastic experience, especially from a restaurant in soft opening. As a connoisseur of elevated trash food, the bao burger -- which was basically a patty melt stuffed inside a bao and griddled -- was the best thing on the menu. The chicken wings were spectacular, as we expected, having eaten at sister restaurant Han Oak. The albacore hand roll had a great ratio of fish to rice, and the sauce was dank. The galbi was phenomenal, perfectly unctuous and salty. The one thing was that the ramyun needed more salt. But only one small miss on a soft opening menu from which we ordered more than half of the items is pretty miraculous.
Got brunch take out from Toki today.WOW, everything was absolutely phenomenal!I dont usually like to go to a place when its super new, because I want to try their food after theyve ironed out all the wrinkles, but I found nothing to fix here at all. It was absolute perfection, every single thing we had!Great online ordering system, exceptional service- you text when youre there to pick up, they bring it outside to you. (I believe if you drive there they have curbside service as well.)We had:Cold Chai Dalgona Coffee with Oat Milk (Sweet Whipped Coffee)Hot Classic Dalgona Coffee with Whole Milk (Sweet Whipped Coffee)Twisted Donut Flight (kkwa-bae-gi)One of each flavor:- chocolate malt- mi-su-ga-ru (toasted grain powdered sugar)- amazake caramel glaze (sweet fermented rice)Breakfast Sando-pork sausage patty, egg, cheese, steamed bao bun, griddled with everything seasoning.Korean Fried Chicken SandoGluten-free, double fried, boneless chicken thigh in sweet garlic soy glaze. With pickled daikon, cabbage, scallion, spicy mayo on a Martins potato roll.Ho-ddukPan-fried, filled, bun.- japchae (* vegetarian)- sweet sesame brown sugar & walnutDont expect huge portions, but know that the items were all VERY substantial. Two of us barely finished 2/3 of what we ordered, and were BEYOND stuffed! Flavouring and texture of everything was spot on!
I love this place. An adorable staff provides great service, but the food is the star here. We have enjoyed every single thing that we have ordered. You must get a steamed bao burger, and the sizzler is to fir for. We will be back.
Yummy food thats a fun twist of Korean and American flavors. The bao burger - which tastes like an in n out burger but even better - is our fave. Fun drinks, too.
Food was great!I recommend the bibimbap, bao burger, and hand pulled noodles. I’ll admit the food isn’t spicy at all but definitely flavorful.Tip: Make sure to make reservations a day or two in advance.
The food is remarkable. The crew has always looked out for me and taken care of me as a customer. The best.
Love that damn Bao burger. You should bring thing out nationwide with a side of nori fries. Would go viralLowering to 4. Waiting 40min for brunch sucks while you are watching To-go orders flow through..
Bao Burger is supreme and those wings are amazing too . Dont sleep on the drinks as well
Amateur HourI called to check availability and BYOB status and the girl who answered the phone immediately said can I put you on a brief hold. I said yes, wondering if it would have been better to have been pushy and said I have just a quick question.... It turned out it would have been. Ten minutes later I was still waiting for this girls brief hold to end. When I called back nobody answered. The call went eventually to some corporate voice mail.We dined elsewhere.
Just ate there last night - great food, great service, very friendly staff.Order the Sizzler ! Wings are great too.
Every dish was seriously good. Im super picky about Korean food but the kabli was cooked perfectly and the spam musubi was great. Service was awesome as well.
Great Korean food! Even better owners! Get the Bao Burger
Han Oak has been a family favorite for years and Peter Chos Toki brings all the joy to his new restaurant. The Korean Fried Chicken was the perfect balance of light, crispy, and spicy. The dumplings were flavorful and delicate and the Ume Margaritas combined savory, sweet, and a subtle sour note of that Japanese cherry.Shaun has been our waiter at nearly all of our Han Oak experiences, he is the quintessential server, remembers you, greets you and lets you know whats special or what he would recommend. That joy comes from the back of the house and is shared freely with diners. The culture and service is as good as the food, highly recommend!
So so good! Everything we got was fantastic.
Everything was DELIGHTFUL. I highly recommend the bao burger and the sizzling bulgogi. But seriously- everything was super tasty! Next time, I will definitely get the hand pulled noodles!
I am Korean and I enjoy Korean fusion dishes. We really loved their chicken burger which had the perfect crispness. However, Omurice dish wasnt really up to my expectation. I believe it could be because I have such a high standard.
Fantastic service. Thought found was hit and miss but definitely creative menu
It was so delicious. We ate so much and it was all good. I loved all the dishes we ate. The peach butter mochi bundt cake was amazing. The staff was so awesome and kind. They remembered us from Hanok. We will be going back again soon.
Havent been to the main restaurant, but this one seemed like its more casual cousin. Food was good.
Super tasty! We loved every dish! You cant go wrong.
Consistently fantastic food. Wholesome, great flavor. My wife particularly loves the specials; I love the Beef Ribs and Pork Belly. The Musubi is great, and well packaged. One of the best places to eat in Portland.
Great experience and excellent food! A friend recommended I try and was not disappointed at all. The staff was friendly and every bite was delicious. My table ordered the Korean Fried Chicken Wings, Steamed Boa Burger, Bibim-bap, Stir Fried Hand Pulled Noodle in Chili Oil, and Chilled somen noodle dishes and a couple bottles of Korean sake. We left happy and full!
One of the very best Korean chicken sandwich I ever had!!! Well trained staff 👏 highly recommended!!!! 인생 치킨 샌드위치!!!
Had the bibimbap, and it was pretty tasty. The food is outside my regular cuisine tendencies. And being vegetarian, my options where more limited then people that enjoy meat and seafood. but the staff was great and enthusiastic. And the over all energy and quality where above and beyond. Great to see family owned businesses operating and providing such a great service despite so many obstacles. Looking forward to trying the tofu and veggie dumplings again :)!
I am so excited for this place and its already loyal following from Han Oak! Toki finally fulfilled my search for tasting my first iced dalgona coffee and now I feel like I cant enjoy coffee any other way! Its toasted nutty texture and flavor was heaven! Ill be back as soon as possible!
Chill and delicious Korean inspired dishes. Lots of small plates and substantial entrees
Excellent margarita. Excellent but slow service. But they prob busy w all the to go & pick ups placed!! Waited 30min for 1 order of burger. Burger was fine. What a bun! Lol. 2 margs, first took almost 15min to come out. Seemed like a slow night, but maybe just the 1 host/server & 1 chef? Im sure theyll staff to accommodate as they start to anticipate those busier days. It is hard times after all.
I dont know if I could ever get sick of that steamed bun burger. At least Ill never make another order without adding two.The mocha smoothie wasnt my favorite. Tasted too protein powder-ish. Too peanut buttery as well, and quickly started separating by the time I got home. The 🍩 donuts were good and had interesting flavors, though fairly stale after sitting for a couple hours. Would recommend eating right away.
The food is good but the experience overall was awful and thats why its one star. We had a dine in and they had it set to where we order and pay food when the hostess had sat us down to a table. It says so that they were bringing our food up to our table and it was already 40 mins until we decided to go up and ask and the lady just brought our food after, no explanation as to why it took so long and when we got our food it was already cold. Nobody came up and even checked. Customer service here was unpleasant.
Tasty modern Korean food. Need to try the Steamed Bao Burger - unexpectedly delicious! Was not disappointed.
This place is amazing, i keep going back, delicious
Everything we ordered was delicious, and the fried chicken was truly magical, even after a 30-minute drive home. Definitely try it out.
Best Korean style wings in the area!
Our food was amazing and have gone twice so far. would go back.
Was amazing some of the best sushi I’ve had in along time. Plates are well presented an nice big full pieces
Delicious brunch, melon slushy was excellent as was gin kimchee bloody
The bao-burger? SLAPSThe chicken wings? INSANEThe kim-bap sandwich wrap thingy? YUMTOWN
I really want to love this place because Korean food is comfort food to me and this place is so close to our condo. The Korean spicy fried chicken wings are a stand out and I would go back there just for that. The mandu were also great. The gal bi and bi bim bap were disappointing-I would prefer going to a traditional Korean restaurant for that. I loved the gim- bap supreme and the steamed bao burgers, but found them really overpriced at $8-Id rather get a good burger that is more filling or a spam musubi. Growing up in Honolulu where good Korean food is pervasive, it is difficult to pay premium designer prices for this.
Great service for take away, great food. Chx sandwich had a nice sweet spice to it and amazing crunch. Ho dduk was excellent. Cant wait to go back
Fried chicken sandwich is worth substantial trials and tribulations to obtain. The pork belly breakfast sando was beautifully cooked though the sauce needs some seasoning tweaks as it felt rich but bland. Try all the things but do not sleep on that chicken sandwich its a must try.
Omg. Just do it. The chicken sandwich was life changing, Bao burger was stellar, yummy homemade brioche donuts, and super tasty bibimbap. You already know about the chicken wings. Will order as much as possible from here before it blows up— thanks to the staff for the delicious food!
Amazing chicken sandwich. Friendly staff especially Patrick. Need to come back to try more of their things.
Excellent food! So excited to have them in the area.
The half chicken is so crunchy and just the right amount of heat
Chicken wings with honey garlic sauce were outstanding.
The breakfast sandos and smoothies were incredible
Great food and people!
Only one of the ribs had any meat, the other cuts were all fat and bone. They forgot the egg on the bibibob. The sides with the ribs were very fishy.
Treat your mouth
Wings Wings Wings!!!
The ramen was just aight. They don’t hand make their noodles. And the pork they use was dry dry dry. If I were starving I might eat there again but I’m not in any hurry to go back. Staff were friendly tho!
EXCELLENT restaurant. Food is superb and the service is outstanding. Wings, Bao Burger, and Dumplings are all to die for. Highly recommend.
The taste is so on point its ridiculous. Highly suggest this amazing place.
