Was told about this place. I went and super happy, the guy that was running front end was super nice and very helpful. Im very glad Oregon recycles paint ( great alternative then going down storm drain or trash ). Very inexpensive paint and excellent quality. I didnt strain paint as I was in a hurry before our Oregon rain came, (I didnt have spair bucket), I did mix it though. I used my Greco X17 spray gun no issues, laid the paint excellent too. When I was there they sold 5gallon buckets for 75.00 (I seen old pic at 50.00). They had a special for 20.00 a 5 gallon, Medium grey. I havent trimmed out yet. Saved a TON, while helping environment.
The employees were so friendly and helpful that we had a great time picking out paint. They had a good selection, and it sounds like theres a new color palette coming soon. The paint is much cheaper than other paint stores and still great quality. We will definitely be coming back to check out the new colors in a few months.
We bought 26 gallons of paint for $127. Outstanding deal. The guy working the counter was patient, friendly and knowledgeable. If you dont want to be bogged down with making a decision between 50 shades of gray (see what I did there?) this is a great place to buy paint.
The paint here is very reasonably priced and of the best quality! We painted our house with it and stuff was like magic. It’s hard to get worked up about paint, but this is different. The staff were helpful, you are helping the planet by recycling, and the prices are amazing!I mean, what’s not to love? You get karma points for saving money on a superior product!Take my money!
These guys rock, quick, efficient, friendly, guy had my paint in the back of my car before I got to my car. Well highly recommend to all my friends. Paint is pretty good quality also at a fraction of the cost. Good coverage in two coats.
Wonderful people selling an excellent product. Easy to apply and durable. Lots of parking. Curbside pickup. Order ahead. They are following covid protocol. They care about their customers. 👍👍
These guys are professional. Customer service is great. The guys delivering to the curbside service are helpful and fast. My first time there and I was impressed. If I did a lot of painting this is where I would go.
People here were very thorough and efficient on inventory. Ordered my paint and they were fast.
Great selection of high end quality recycled paints. Impossible to beat prices. Plan to use Metro paint on your next project. Repainting my entire home with Metro paint this year.
Great guys at the desk, great paint. They recycle old paint and repurpose it to get a second life. Its really a great idea! I would certainly recommend them as the paint is really reasonably priced and actually nice color selection. The only caution I would advise is to get this paint to use with rollers or brushes as the paint would need some extra filters for an atomiser because of the extra particles.
Great Paint - I highly recommend it.
Only have 3 or so colored to choose from when I went for paint
Easy to get the paint we wanted.
Great paint at an unbeatable price! Used it for painting my houses exterior three years ago, and still only had to spot paint this year.
Loved the quality of the recycled paint from Metro! We used it to repaint the inside of our house and were extremely pleased that the new paint smell quickly diminished after a day. Moreover we really appreciated the affordability of the cost of this paint compared to other name brand paints. We highly recommend and look forward to using this paint again!
Great products! Unbelievable value. We sprayed nearly 25 gallons over the exterior of a 4000 Sqft building. Its been 4 years now and still looking great.
If you want inexpensive and high-quality house paint this is the place to go. The paint is thick and smooth and 5 gallons is only $69. It is low VOC and you can use it indoors or Outdoors. I live in Washington now but I go to Oregon quite frequently and I bought my house paint there and have encouraged my neighbors to also get their paint there also. Its worth the trip to Portland if you combine your paint buying with a pleasure trip and a day of sales tax free shopping!
Love the fact that their paint is made from recycled paint. Price is outstanding. Have bought paint here for basement and to make homemade chalk paint for my twins bedroom mural.
We LOVE metro paint. It has great colors, is thick and smooth, recycled and a great great price. We painted the inside and outside of our house. The inside many times over the years and the outside years ago. We have had NO problem with the paint anywhere (including the south side of our house as other person mentioned). We recommend Metro paint to everyone.
Bought your paint in Eugene at BRING and I have to say, it is really top quality! I used the primer and gloss white inside our house and the paint coverage is on par with those $35 + per gallon paints. Thanks for recycling and making this product!
Great place good people to buy paint from
Nice people, and very affordable paint but the old saying you get what you pay for is true here. Re painting the interior of my house (1,800 sq ft) and Ive now gone through 25 gallons of their white paint, 3 coats everywhere and STILL it doesnt look great! Their white simply doesnt cover well and I wasnt even painting over dark walls, just some light green walls. Their other colors might be different, but if you are using their Snow White, save yourself some time (and money becaus time = money when you are paying people to help you) and get a better quality of paint, a paint that will perform because this simply doesnt.
I like this paint. I painted outbuildings near Burns with it and the exterior of my house in Bend. Also painted the interior of my house and have fun custom-making my own colors. I have also used their primer. I am about to repaint the exterior of my house with it; just wish it were easier to find in Central Oregon. Only two locations are listed on the Metropaint website; and the Sisters location doesnt appear to sell it any more. I will buy it once again at Swan Island.
You get what you pay for. Id only use this paint for interior walls. Its extremely inferior on exterior walls and the weather its presented with. DO NOT USE ON ANY EXTERIOR WALL THAT FACES SOUTH. I put some brand new wood siding on a southern facing exterior wall. Then put on 2 coats of primer and then 2 coats of metro paint. That was August of 2015 and the paint is showing signs of wear. Now Im going to have to paint it again this Summer but I wont be using Metro.EDIT: Switched my review from 2 stars to 1 star. This paint is WORTHLESS for exterior use. If you want to flip a house use it. If you want to paint your exterior every 2 years then yes use it. I would only use this paint for interior use where it wont see any rain or sun. It will cost you $25-$30 for some GOOD exterior paint which is triple what the Metro cost but then you will only have to paint your exterior every 10-15 years.
This paint is the best. We have painted the outside of our home with it as well as several rooms inside. I wont buy any other paint. Thanks for making a high quality product and being concerned for the enviroment!
Good bargain on paint. Many years ago used 2 cost $20/5gal now $69
I love this place and their paint- Ive painted the entire inside of two homes with it (a variety of colors) and the exterior of my house is the barn red. The paint is thick and often only takes one coat.
The paint is delicious
Very helpful. Good advice. Great customer service even for my little purchase.
I bought Sand Dune color from the North Basin Metro Paint location, Eric Helped me several times, as did other people there they are pretty helpful. I painted a southern facing exterior wall in Mid October of 2017. Its March 15th 2018 that I am writing this, The wall looks much better than it did before, and I also plan to paint more of my house with this paint when the weather clears up and we have a few dry warm days in a row. One thing I will say is that that the paint is a tad on the thin side, Like you may have to put an additional coat on, so Far after five months, Id say its alright, oh and the price, 11 bucks a gallon, great.Oak grove area of Milwaukie.
My dad used to paint a lot of houses with stained walls that needed high coverage, and Metro recycled paint was the only thing hed use. He said Metros blending process made their paint cover everything in one coat where more expensive paints took three. Seems to be true! The service staff is great, too. If you want to make your own custom blends, theyll help you figure out how to do it. If you want to use a pre-mixed paint, thats fine! They make a good variety of good colors.
Good efforts done there to save the planet
The people here are great. I feel like Im doing something for the planet when I use the paint.Yes. The paint is stinky, but that goes away.
The gentlemen working where amazing, very knowledgable. I will be going back for my other paint needs.
Its extremely clean very friendly and professional extremely helpful but every question I had
Great place to get basic paint for most projects.
Super friendly people! Quick service too
Great place for an amazing deal on paint
Hubby and I came in expecting yet another customer service being unhelpful, NOPE not today! The gentleman w/glasses (sorry 4got your name) was extremely great and helpful.
Although we rarely use this paint, we do occasionally on customer request. Its a well run store and its good to see my leftover paints that I bring in being put to good use.Owner of Cascade Painting and Restoration.
I used Metro Paint recycled paint this weekend to paint my garage - used Misty (a light grey). I am not easily impressed but have to admit that this recycled paint made me smile. My happiness started as I was greeted by the friendly staff at the counter on Swan Island - they were great and could not have been more helpful - they loaded my 5 gallons on a cart for me and off I went quickly and without fuss. There was a label on the container that suggested the paint needed a good stir with a drill attachment - got one for $6 at Home depot and it worked a treat. I used a roller to apply the paint and it went on like spreading butter on warm toast - easy, easy easy. The paint was very stinky but that was seriously the only slight negatives - the many positives made the smell only slightly off putting - it has dissipated after a couple of days. The way this paint went onto the walls was fabulous - it was super creamy and a single coat covered all the tough marks a wall gets in a garage - it dried darker so it was easy to see where I was applying.I have used single coat premium Baer paint previously and it was horrid compared to Metro Paint - it was thin, difficult to apply, dryed super quickly and did NOT cover anything. I cant recommend Metro Paint recycled paint enough - it is premium paint that goes on easy, gets the job done first time and looks great - when you look at the cost being 1/3rd of other paints then it becomes a no-brainer. Well done Metro Paint
Really nice staff, very helpful, great value!
So thick one coat perfect gloss grey is my fav
Im a big fan of Metro Paints recycled paints. I own a 100 yr old apartment building and I use Metro Paint for everything.
Great organization but the paint color was definitely off a bit. Barn red looked more like watered down blood.
Great paint at a great price! Keeping it out of the landfill!!
Those guys are the best, helpful, polite, professional!
