I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata for a little over $5000 in April. I paid cash straight out and didn’t even get my title until August!!! Since then I’ve needed to buy a new battery, replace the starter, replaced the third brake light, and the list goes on. It’s now December and I have completely given up on this car! Just found out today that the car they sold me was a total loss vehicle that was rebuilt. My car isn’t worth anywhere near the 5,000 I paid!!! So I’m back at square one buying a whole new car in less than a year of purchasing one from them.. lesson learned! Karma will get them.** update to the owners response.You must be thinking about the wrong customer that you messed over because we never had a conversation about my starter going out. I actually took my vehicle to priority Hyundai and had them replace it! What you stated is clearly a lie when you said a called and you quote that I said “I only had the car four months.” I have clear documentation that says I got my starter replaced in October which would actually be six months after I bought the vehicle. We’ve never had a conversation about anything outside of me buying the car and trying to get my title for about four months!! Please don’t make up stories when your business is the one that did me wrong.** all car problems stemmed from you selling a total loss car. Hyundai made it very clear with the proof in the paperwork. They are simply trash cars rebuilt! But be blessed . I’ll take me L. But you won’t get far doing good people like this.. I paid for everything cash and in full!! Remember that !

So I have always been the one to buy cheap cars that would last me a couple months and then break down leaving us car less. Sold Nephew a vehicle that had Cadillac converter issues and he knew that it was an issue. I had my car for about a month now. I wanted to wait for my review because I wanted to get a fill for the car and have a little time with it first. I love my car!! Monte motors hooked me UP UP.. I can’t think them enough. Monte himself picked me up from my house to go look around his lot, and I choose which car I liked. I knew which car I had my eyes set on already, Monte didn’t rush me he didn’t try to sell me the car he wanted me too have or try to sell me the car he was trying to get rid of.. He wanted me to take my time look around and get a fill for the cars before I made the final decision and I appreciate that because it shows that the customer opinion matter. Ill be fair and start with the good; I like the car I bought - a little convertible to enjoy in the warm weather, and Monte has a friendly disposition. Its important to note that Monte allows others to sell off of his lot, so his company is on my paperwork but the car I purchased belonged to his business partner.I purchased a car that was a trade-in at Carmax and the title was not yet available. I am not local, so Monte and his business partner stated they would be in Richmond at a later date and they would contact me to meet them and get the title. I received a bill of sale, the car, and 30 day tags, and drove away happy to have the car. I didnt hear anything for more than three weeks, but I was trying to be patient because I know things dont always go as planned. Again, to be fair, he said they tried to call the next week when they visited Richmond, but I didnt answer. However, I feel like more than one missed phone call should be attempted when you hold someones title. Complaint #1; total lack of communication. With the tags a few days away from expiration I called about the title. He apologized stated they were coming to Richmond again, and we mutually agreed on the following week. I waited for a text/phone call as the date grew closer but no one called. Around 10a on the day before we agreed to meet I called.Monte put me in touch with his business partner who needed to make some arrangements and promised to call me back. By 6pm, with no call, I called again. At that point the business partner stated he was leaving Portsmouth at 9p to pick up a car in DC, and asked if I could meet him on the way back at 3am. Seriously, 3am!? I told him I could meet him on his way there at 10-11pm and he agreed, and was to call/text when he got close with the location. At 10:30 no one had contacted so I again initiated a call, at which time he told me he had decided not to come and apologized for not informing me. Complaint #2; broken promises. I was not happy - he agreed to meet me the next morning; he actually showed up, and I got the title. That should be the end of it, but its not. The title was no good, which is not Montes fault. Carmax did not do their due diligence and received a title that had been voided because the original owner thought it was lost and purchased a duplicate. A duplicate title renders the original void, so I couldnt title the car. At that point all I wanted from Monte was another 30 day tag to drive the car until the mess was cleared up. On Thursday, 8/29/19, I communicated with Monte and he agreed to send another tag. On Saturday night I inquired about whether or not they had been sent and he stated they had not, he had a family emergency. He offered to bring them Tuesday, 9/3, but I couldnt meet him that day. Rather than mail them, he did nothing. I plainly informed him that I was about to leave bad feedback because I felt his communication was poor, and his word had no value. On Wednesday, 9/4, he offered to make things right and send tags, and he stated they were sent on the morning of 9/5. As of today, 9/10/19, 10:30pm, I still dont have tags, and I dont ever expect to. I have a car in my driveway as a yard ornament and Im hostage to Monte, who hasnt sent me a tag to drive it, and Carmax who totally dropped the ball on the title verification and doesnt care to expedite things so I can title it in my name. Im not a hater, but I think tags could get from Portsmouth to Richmond on a turtles back in four full business days, and fair is fair - if youre going to conduct business this way the public has a right to know. Ive been patient, but now Im just frustrated and disappointed, and I just want to drive the car I purchased while the weather is good. Update 9/13, I received tags today, waiting for title resolution.
