The worst ever... couldnt even get the prescription correct!! Ive been to a number of eyeglass locations over the years and My Eye Dr at Cabin John is by far the worst. Multiple eye exams due to inexperience. Multiple attempts at getting the lenses correct. Multiple different clueless and unknowledgeable staff. And ultimately another company to provide me proper glasses on the first try. And the other company actually let me know that the My Eye Dr. prescription was completely wrong to begin with. A complete waste of time, money, and a sorry excuse for a business. Avoid at all expense.

MyEyeDr (all locations) will load your bill with options you havent agreed to. They will then give you the lump sum to pay and when you ask for itemization they will tell you that you will get a full printout after paying, at which point it becomes far harder to reverse. Yesterday they added a $200 option to my bill, that I detected only because I insisted on itemization before paying.

DONT GO TO THIS LOCATION UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR APPOINTMENT CHANGED WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT! Had appointments scheduled for our family 2 weeks in advance by Joshua and our appointments were changed to another day and times unbeknownst to us. Andrew (manager) had no clue how this happened although other reviewers (@jerryliu) experienced the same problem. How do you change an appointment without giving notice to the customer and expect them to show up at the alternate date and times??!! Worst. Location. Ever!

My kids and I go here for our eyeglasses and contact lenses and I’m very pleased with Dr Chu and their services. They’re not pushy and don’t ever try to sell you on services or products which is such a welcome relief compared to other eye doctors. They literally tell you they want to save you money (and they do!).

Booked online for an eye exam, confirmed by email and again in the morning by text message. Suddenly 30 mins before the appointment was told no doctor. Its terrible. Totally messed up with my schedule. Next available appt is 4 days away.

Worst experience ever. Ordered expensive (very expensive) glasses for my brother who was visiting from another country. Ordered here ONLY because they assured us that glasses would be ready by the required date (my brother was due to leave). Moreover, we didn’t get our first choice frame because that particular one wasn’t guaranteed to be done on time.On the set date we find out the glasses aren’t ready. My brother left the country. A week has passed already - they don’t even have a common curtsy to call!!! I finally get through - glasses still not ready, and Andrew, the manager, doesn’t know why. So they didn’t even bother to follow up with the lab when our order initially fell through. Then they didn’t do it when their second term wasn’t met. And now, when I call, they matter-of-factly say that they would call the lab.This was my first and, believe me, the last time with this place. Stay away.UPDATE. Read the response from the company; followed the link and sent details of the complaint. The best thing: today - almost a month after the rush order had been placed! - nobody in the store knows the status. Nobody bothered to contact me before, but now promised again to let me know tomorrow. Well, I dont hold my breath.

Brought my 6 yr old son in for his first eye exam after he failed a screening at his school. Dr. Chu was wonderful and so great with my son. We left feeling very informed and hopeful. He also found some glasses in his favorite color, and Mona made picking them out a fun experience for him.

I never have a bad experience here. The staff goes above and beyond for their customers. Mona is my favorite! Thanks to her and Dr. Chu, I always look forward to stopping by for either an appointment or for pickup. I tried going to the Bethesda location downtown-- never again! The staff there treats your requests like youre high maintenance and they all come off as snobs. I once had my contact lens tear in my eye while I was at work. I went to the Bethesda location thinking I would get the same level of treatment as the Potomac location (my mistake). Anytime I have needed replacement contact lenses in a pinch, all the staff at the Potomac location treats me nicely and respectfully. Seriously, go check this location out. I wont go anywhere else.

Dont give them your phone number. They keep calling even after I asked them to stop. I bought a pair of glasses several years ago from them and I will never go back because they dont leave me alone. Basic disrespect.

Terrible service!

I must admit the 90% of my deciding to come to this Optometrist and location was I thought the name was cool, and the logo was awesome. Plus I used to live on Tuckerman Ln, so it was really convenient. Ive always had great experiences at this location, and any glasses, contacts, etc have always been perfect. Dr. Chu has always been a great Optometrist to see. However, today they absolutely went above and beyond any reasonable expectation of service I had. I am actually in Florida at the moment, and had an eye exam somewhere else and it ended up being a pretty bad experience and they werent really helpfull at all. I actually called the Cabin John My Eye Dr. just to see what my old prescription was and they were actually able to do everything for me that a LensCrafters in FL was unable or unwilling to help with. I cannot recommend dealing with them enough for any of your vision needs.

Excellent, super helpful service! I returned to MyEyeDr last month for new glasses after getting a terrible interim pair from Eyeland. MyEyeDr still had all my information on file from my previous glasses almost five years ago, they were professional, friendly, ran glaucoma and cataract tests as well as my eye exam, and sold me new glasses for $400 less than what Eyeland charged me. Better still, it was Wednesday and I asked if I could pick up the new glasses the following Monday for my trip to California, and they got this done for me with no extra charge! and my new glasses fit and perform perfectly. I give my highest raves to Dr. Chu and her team!

Waiters and eye doctors really suck. They did a bad job. I am very disappointed at their bottom performance. Worst service ever. I will never use their worst service. Never!

Keep shoppping. Used to be reliable, no longer.

I honestly could not ask for better service and I have been coming here since they opened. Timothy Trudeau is the reason I will not buy glasses anywhere else. He goes out of his way to care for me and in a crisis, like when I lost my glasses, he made sure I could seen in no time! Thank you - especially to Timothy.
