I like this Giant the Atmosphere is calm, ppl don’t speed they the parking lot like the Giant on Rockville Pike
Good shopping experience. Unfortunately, they were out of the Ben and Jerrys Ice Cream I needed for a customer. Giant has the best self check out lines.
This is where I do my routine grocery shopping... Clean store, friendly helpful staff, item placement is convenient and was easy for a newcomer like me to get used to.. 5 stars due to the fantastic options of gluten free foods as well as the ease of locating said items.
Long term shopper here. Today was a mixed experience. I almost got run over by a stock cart and not no much as a nod from the worker. But on the other hand the service desk was great.
Large supermarket with varied pantry good. Produce section is kind of small and feels dated. Deli is well attended with friendly staff. I havent had good luck with the meat selection. Bakery is pretty pretty lightly stocked too.Staff are friendly and helpful and prices are certainly reasonable
I have been going to this store and pharmacy since it opened over 25yrs. ago. The pharmacy is the best out of all the other giants I have been to. I grew up locally and have been to several in the area. They’re extremely helpful and are looking out for my well-being. They’ve also helped me save money on my prescriptions. They’re kind, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. The store manager, Donna, is just as kind, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. If there is anything I need, I can always reach her or find a competent staffer to help me. They’ve bent over backwards in some cases to special order something that they either no longer carry or find at another store. From the florist to the produce to the deli to the meat/seafood to the people that are constantly stocking the shelves to the front office managers and to the gentlemen who help you get the groceries into your car, you can always see a smiling face and a helpful hand. I can’t say enough nice things about this store!! Thank you!!
Health and safety measures need to be updated. Just saw a client and four employees restocking shelves not wearing masks. One employee in the pharmacy… which probably sees immunocompromised people that may not have a good effect from vaccine or may not be able to get it.
Lean, well stocked and rapid checkout with good parking.
First time here today and I really enjoyed it! Such a variety of foods spices and everything in between!! Prices could be a bit cheaper for some of the things I saw but they werent too bad. You could lose so much time looking at everything! Definitely will be going back!
Decent Giant in a rather inconvenient location. Usually pretty well stocked with the essentials.
Men are discriminated against here. Restroom only for women
This Giant, being in a very prestigious neighborhood, is extremely well-kept and contains a huge variety of brands. This is one of the largest Giants Ive been too, so they often have choices my other store doesnt.
The store breads are better at the Safeway across the street. Prices are good here, and it is easy to do self checkout.

Very sweet and courteous owner, professional staff. Food is very good, fresh ingredients .I only wish they kept their previous chef because his grilled chicken pesto pasta dish was amazing
This is my favorite lunch spot. Great price for great fresh food!! I am one of your favorite customers!!
They have great prices, fresh produce, and there are never long lines. Everyone who works here seems to be in a good mood!
Quick service, good selection and very helpful
Food selection is good . Usually very tidy and loo is always clean . Staff never grumpy
Would recommend to anyone who needs to fill up on food and other necessities while theyre visiting the area.
After calling 5 other grocery stores, this Giant finally had what I wanted, fresh apricots. However, when I got there to buy them, they didnt have a very good stock and a third of them were rotten. Fortunately after picking thru all of them, I was able to select the 2 pounds that I needed with only a small amount of damaged fruit mixed in.
Good quality brands which are popular in Iran are available in this supermarket
Alvaro L is an exceptional customer service representative. I have been coming to this store for over 20 years and I have known him for about 5 to 7 years. He always has a smile on his face and he is always ready to help. The manager Donna is not friendly at all. There’s a woman named Amy who works there in the mornings and she is just nasty. She has been rude to my son on many occasions. She doesn’t bother the people who “look” like they live in Potomac but the ones who don’t “look” like we live here get racially profiled. Also Seumi is great. She’s always happy and she remembers her customers names. Thanks Alvaro and seumi!Anyways Alvaro is the man! Thank you for making my trip to giant a good one!
Its a giant supermarket that has everything
Large selection. Great staff, helpful. Convenient. Ample parking. Best scanning/self check capability.

Quick, easy and clean!
Yet another paradox. Why does rich Potomac have such poor grocery stores ? Youd expect to find a grocery store like this in the slums, but you will find it right here in Potomac, one of the wealthiest zip codes in the nation. If the intent of Potomacians is to discourage visitors from visiting their stores, then they have done a marvellous job here by leaving their Giant well in the last decades. This thing is ridiculous. No one in their right mind will actually go shopping here.
Good size supermarket with good options. If they only bagged my food for me, Id give them 5 stars. Cmon guys, follow the trend of Wholefoods and Harris Teeter.
BE AWARE!! Giant is selling rotten seafood and doing nothing about it! - I purchased some cocktail shrimp at this store and when I opened the bag at home an odor similar to a dead mouse filled my kitchen. Pretty much destroyed the evening and dinner. I took it back to the store and after asking to speak to the store manager, I was told many times that they had no manager in the premises. I let the only two checkout employees, who said they were in charge, to smell the shrimp and they agreed that the good was rotten and unsafe for consumption! - They tried to contact a manager but I was told that they could not locate anyone! - I recorded the incident and took some pics. Unfortunately pics can’t really capture his bad it was. Since there was no way to contact a store manager I will be reporting this to the county health and food safety authorities.
Professional customer service, they have excellent food and great prices.
Much less crowded than the Tuckerman or Old Georgetown locations
Nice place to shop or just to have coffee & roam around.
The store is always busy but the check in/out is fast. The selection is great!
I generally feel that the price youre paying at either giant or Safeway is easily 30% more particularly for fresh fruits and vegetables. One big positive for this giant is that they do offer a fresh squeezed orange juice right there in the store.
Good variety of foods. Fresh and clean. The store is also clean and well organized.
Best grocery store in the Potomac Village, sporting a much wider selection than the Safeway. Prices are reasonable and comparable to other local grocery stores.
Good store. Okay bakery.
Grocery store which is easy to access from River Road and also from Falls Road. Plenty of Parking spots are available.
Poor experience. An employee returned roasted chicken back to rotisserie shelf without tag. I tried to tell employee behind counter about the product returned. She did not have a good understanding of English. It is very hard to communicate with employees at this store. Overall this store is substandard to its other locations.
Nice store, clean and well stocked. Fresh produce.
Giant is always good.
Rich in veriety, great in choices, and fabuluos staff.
My wife was called obscene names by a mentally disabled bagger when she wanted to bag her own food. He was ruining the fruit by throwing it in bags with cans. Complained to manager, who refused to do anything, but offered a $25 gift card. Guess what? Theres a Safeway a block away. We now go there. Shop at this Giant at your own risk. I see no reason to put up with bad treatment, abusive employees, ruined food, and management that doesnt care about customers.
Nice big store. Lots of choices!
I love Giant. Many, many years ago, I worked for the ad agency that did occasional instutional ads for them. I remember, one was about their delicious Cholla bread, which did not exist at Safeway. Keep in mind that larger stores, like the one in Potomac Village, have things that smaller stores dont offer. For example-you can get lox ( smoked salmon) in the Village, but not on Tuckerman Lane. And their bagels are better than the ones you get at the deli.( Im from NY--I know a good bagel.) Whats more, you dont need a pricey specialty store to get things like different kinds of cheese.Maxine Schwartzman
Giant has been through some changes in ownership over the years this store has been open, and a once-great, locally owned store, that was responsive to its customers, has turned into a typical store run by a big corporation, not caring any more, moving away from service.First, their response to customer inquiries and complaints has changed. In their glorious past, if you took the time to contact them they took your seriously and solved the problem. More recently, they would address it to the point of having a store manager at least respond (I had one apparently lie to me, but at least it was a response). Now, they wont even answer you. I guess thats the least costly way for them to deal with complaints! Unless you consider the thousands of dollars of my business that theyve lost, along with who knows how many others.Ive been treated badly at the pharmacy. Ive been given someone elses medication, Ive had an incorrect pill count. Most recently, I checked in for a flu shot. It was mid afternoon. Several pharmacists were working. No one else was waiting for a prescription. I sat there for 20 minutes, even heard them discuss me--Is there someone waiting for a flu shot? Yes there is. But the wait continued even then. Dont you think that a real, live customer waiting for service would be taken care of before whatever they were all doing? Youre right, so do I. So I walked away, out of that store, and Im not coming back.I went to Harris Teeter and got my shot in five minutes. And they gave me a $5 coupon, too. Then I transferred my prescription to Harris Teeter and they gave me a $25 coupon.I had a problem with a special request at Harris Teeter, so I went to their Web site and complained. The next day I got a phone call from the store director, the senior HT man at this store, telling me that he was not in the store when I made my request or it would have been resolved differently. He apologized and told me my request would be happily fulfilled the next time I was in the store. And it was.The Potomac Giant no longer has meat cutters in the store. Harris Teeter has quite a meat department, and theyll custom cut whatever you want. And they have terrific BOGOs of meat like ribs and pork tenderloins. So you can shop in Potomac Village at a Giant thats in steady decline, or you can shop up the street (yes, its a drive) in Park Potomac at a first-rate store with a pharmacy open until 9 pm on a store thats open 24 hours.
Awesome, like any giant it has cheap but tasty fodd but, with a bonus: Free Samples
This isnt my favorite location but its worth the trip fosho

Good but not great
Fresh food, helpful staff
Fresh produce and clean store
Groceries and healthy food can be gotten here
This giant location is maybe a bit small, but usually has everything Im looking for and is cheaper than the Safeway across falls road.
Found everything on my list and checked out without a wait.
Great staff
Very very Good
Best looking giant
Basement type of store. Nothing special.
Has your every grocery needs
Selection limited at times due to space, restocking delays.
Everyone knows Giant - and if you dont you should Google it :)This branch is well organized - you can find here almost everything you need (not like WallMart - no electronic, clothing etc)The prices are a bit expensive in all most departments...
