Bent my rim pretty badly and all the air leaked out of my tire. brought my car here on a sunday and came back at 10am monday morning expecting to have to replace the whole wheel. instead i came back to my car completely fixed. Dean was able to bend the rim back into place and fill up the tire. great place, really nice people. will absolutely be back.

I recently (January, 2021) visited Probilt to repair the Transmission on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 136,000 miles. I was considering scrapping the vehicle due to its age, but it is otherwise reliable and in an excellent/well maintained condition. Dean, was able to make time to diagnose the problem (which required a complete transmission overhaul). He then expedited the extensive repair and had it completed ahead of his estimate. I have always been leery of transmission repair centers.....but Dean and Probilt in Poughkeepsie are about as honest as you can get. I would highly recommend them for any transmission problem/repair.

My 2013 Subuaru Impreza needed to be repaired - all the inside lights were on and the car just not driving right. Decided to contact Probilt after reading all of the great reviews due to my local shop telling me the repair cost was going to be ALOT of money and ALOT of time...YIKES! Dropped the car off at Probilt and before the end of the day got a call from Dean telling me he contacted a local Subaru dealer and found out the issue I was having was under warranty and would be NO COST to me......what a wonderful early Christmas present for me!! I am very appreciative that there are still honest car repair shops out there and am very thankful for Dean taking the time to find this out. Owner and operator, Dean is a friendly and very approachable guy. Staff are very friendly and equally approachable. Everyone is very professional. Work is very good, prices are reasonable and fair. They take the time to explain everything and also offer you options. I have had extensive work done to be two of my vehicles there and have no complaints.

My husband bought a used 2001 Mazda on Craigslist with a bad transmission and Probilt helped get the car up and running! It has been running perfectly! Ive never met a kinder, more honest mechanic. I have stopped by Probilt twice in 13 years and both times left amazed at the level of customer service offered.In 2005 I brought my first car in when the clutch stopped engaging. Within 5 min Dean made a simple adjustment and sent me on my way. Never tried to up sell or bring the car in for unnecessary diagnostics. Clutch worked great since!Just today I brought another car in to diagnose a harsh shift. The mechanics were super friendly and quick to help. Even offered to drive me over to Barnes and Noble if they needed more time with it. We ran into Dean on the way out to the car. He offered to come for a ride to feel the issue. Again, he quickly diagnosed it to be something minor and normal for a car with my mileage. No attempt to up sell or do unnecessary preventative maintenance.I cant recommend Probilt enough. Everyone I have interacted with there has been extremely friendly and accommodating. Awesome shop!

I took my 02 tl type s, transmission was slipping they took less than three days for rebuilt and car fells like new very smooth. Prices are good and fair very professional and experienced at what they do Definitely from now on will be taking my other vehicles for regular maintenance. Highly Recommended!!

I have used Probilt on multiple occasions. The owner Dean’s knowledge, professionalism and friendliness is second to none. He is by far the best in the business. He is one of the most honest gentlemen you can come across. He has replaced and rebuilt transmissions on multiple cars and trucks for me and each and every time he does exactly what he says he will. He also does it in the time he says he will. Sometimes even sooner. He keeps me updated throughout and not once has the job cost anything different from the original quote. My car needed a transmission cooling hose. The part itself on RockAuto is about $60. Dean charged me 100 then $110/hr for labor to put it in. My total was $367.00 this is the most expensive place to get your car fixed in Dutchess county. I dont think they appreciate their Black community and therefore I would never recommend this service to anyone.

I called a few places for a price to replace the clutch in my Honda Civic and they gave me a good price, cheaper than the dealer and other shops. It was done quickly and they didnt try to sell me all kinds of other stuff like the place that sometimes does my inspection. Im very happy with these guys and would recommend them highly.

Stopped by on August 7th, with noise coming from my brakes! They provide a free estimate of the work that needed to be done. Very honest and friendly, ordered the parts and had me on my way. I would highly recommend them for any work you need done and will use again in the future!

Wow, great place and people. Honesty is definitely their policy. Brought a car to them two different times with possible transmission problems. First time it ended up being just a stuck overdrive button on the shifter. The second time they checked everything out after there was an error code diagnosed by my mechanic and everything was fine. They could have easily charged me hundreds of dollars and told they had fixed something but they didnt. Like I said earlier, great and honest people!

My wife and I travelled almost 3 hours to attend a wedding in Poughkeepsie. After arriving at the reception the passenger side window of our vehicle became stuck in the down position. At approximately 4 pm I dropped my wife off and began to drive around the local area to find someone to help with the window. The forecast was for rain so it was important for us to be able to close the window. During my travel I spotted PROBILT Transmissions and went inside to see if they could help. I met Dean and his wife talking in their office. They closed at 3 but fortunately were still there. Dean immediately started trying to get the window closed. After one hour our window was secured closed and I was on my way to back to the wedding reception. I could not begin to thank Dean enough for his help. Around 2008 I took my Chevy Blazer there & they rebuilt my transmission. They were excellent to deal with, fair prices, quick work and communicated with me frequently throughout the process. The other day my new car was having what looked like transmission problems. I brought it there because we had such a good experience last time. Not 20 minutes after I dropped it off, they called to say that the computer code indicated a loose air filter. They snapped it in & charged me NOTHING! This kind of service should definitely be rewarded! I HIGHLY recommend ProBilt!!! A+++

I was referred to Probilt by Lanks Garage in Beacon and I am glad I followed their direction. I was notified that evening that I lost 2nd gear and required a rebuild transmission. They had my truck back on the road in about a week at a very fair price. On another note, about a month later, I noticed a leak at my power steering gear box. I called and asked if I could bring it in and they said they would look at it. It turns out that it was the high pressure steering hose and not the gear box itself. These guys are fair and honest and didnt sell me anything I didnt need(which is rare these days). Polite on the phone & in person, I definitely recommend Probilt.

They rebuilt my transmission on my 03 MDX. Due to a rare, intermittent issue they had to drop the tranny and rebuilt it two more times (on their dime) before finding the root cause. Throughout the process they remained friendly and professional. This was the cheapest option around and saved me thousands over a dealer replacement.
