Tasty avocado toast and delicious latte

I stop in everyday and get amazing coffee roasted right on property from North River Roasters. I love the atmosphere, staff, and food. I especially love the Avocado Toast they make. Their salads are excellent and can be shared they are so big. In the winter I switch to their soups and sandwiches which are also very good. It is also one of the few places in the city of Poughkeepsie that you can get a unique gift item. A true hidden gem. Highly Recommend!!!

Delicious, fresh, generously-portioned and well-seasoned (but limited, food menu) -- 4 avocado toast options, 2 ricotta toasts, 1 soup, a few sandwiches and prepared salads, pastries, full coffee/tea menu. Eclectic, artistic gift offerings for sale (pottery, soaps, jewelery, ties, scarves, cards, tea). Comfortable vibe & very friendly service. Totally hit the spot for a quick lunch while passing through on a hot summer day!

I’m so glad I found this place! The employees were super friendly, the service was spot on, the coffee was very good (I had the dark roast), the ricotta toast was outstanding (my new favorite) and the atmosphere was cozy!

I went to Cafe 40 today for the first time, which just so happened to be their first day open post-COVID shutdown, and I was SO impressed! The iced latte I ordered was one of the best I’ve ever had in my life. I also ordered a beautiful chickpea salad that was to die for! I’m so glad they were able to open back up and hope they stay in business for years to come!
