They sell spoiled food and then ask you why didn’t you smell it before buying it. No the real question is why isn’t it removed off the shelves/fridge if it is no longer useable. Will not be going back, I should’ve known when I walked in and the store smelled horrible. Health dept needs to inspect here !( chicken looks perfectly fine but smells like death ?!? )

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!!!! Dept of health needs to pay a visit. The smell when you enter is not pleasant. I bought Goya brand empanada wraps 4 packs of 10. After getting home and preparing I took a taste then realized each package had been expired since 2019!!!!!! The customer service that was provided when I came back the NEXT DAY was so poor and unprofessional!! The boss said he could only refund me the package I had not opened. When I showed pictures that I could not finish prepping my meal bc of the inconvenience he responds why did I continue when I seen it appeared to look a little different !!!!!! The were rude!!!! FDA needs to look into this business

It could be a nice place to shop but the quality of food has depleted. Got sick twice off the fish. Produce is rotten, They used to be good not sure what happened. Once in a while I can find some good fruit. You do not have to wear a mask unless you choose to.

As I enter the supermarke there was a nasty smell. Poor managenment. They sell a lot because basically they are the only LatinoSupermarket in the area and one of the highest selling supermarket in the area. It is disrespectful to the Latino Community. I go in get my my plantains and out as quickly as possible. Where are Dept of Health Inspectors?

Vaccinated folks still require mask here,probably because a majority of the community is not vaccinated.

Very nice fresh fish department. Many fish are available that you cant get elsewhere. Prices are very reasonable. Service is good and they will clean the fish for you. A tip for cleaning is expected. Very good produce and ethnic food items.

It has a butcher that speackspanish and really nice employees! I found manteca, malta poni, yuca, bitter melon, even a coconut in a vacuum bag!

Ah... I remember Tropical Fresh, though not fondly since it only lived up to half the name. It was definitely tropical - it was as humid inside as out, but not fresh.Entering in, I was immediately bag checked on entry. The person next to the cashier, whom I presume is either the owner, security guard, or grocery bagger since they were the only other people I saw in the grocery store, started getting agitated after only a few seconds and saying that I was getting him worked up, though he didnt make it immediately clear that he wanted my backpack.So I gave it to him, and did my shopping. While shopping I noticed a fishy odor, as well as a fridge door that was left open. Additionally, several overhead lights were turned off, and one of them was flickering like an asylum. The amount of smile youre on camera signs is heavily disconcerting, not to mention disingenuous since I didnt recall seeing many cameras in the place. The place didnt exactly wow with prices but I bought a few things. Once I did my shopping the person who grabbed my bag tried to explain things but I really just wanted to get out of there.Overall, its disappointing to read the other reviews and conclude that foul odor issues havent been worked on. The place could use a new coat of paint too. Overall Id say go to Market Fresh down the road, at least you wont get accosted there.

I bought some fish from the store when I came home and cook the fish the fish was hard as a rock it did not even cook they sell me old fish plus it was spoiled.....

Good place to shop curious employees and they have a big variety.

I now live a few blocks from them, and they surprised me with what I was able to get locally. They have a bunch of fresh food. My only gripe is theres not much organic food, but hey its all good. Staff are friendly, and they were one of the first to adopt social distancing really well to my memory.

Well I guess Im kinda biased because this is where I work. On the other hand it has so many different kinds of produce at the lowest prices Ive seen. A lot of specialty products that caters mostly to our Latin and Jamaican population.

Went there today and the fishy smell was horrible like their cash registers are. The service at the fish station is unacceptable. Looked at me for 10 minutes. I had to ask if he was working. He says Im always working. Really!I thought they wanted customers. Didnt feel like that to me 👎👎👎👎👎

Great supermarket! They have just about everything you will need to cook Caribbean, Latin, and Anerican foods. The very reasonable for produce and average for the heavily-processed foods.

Being West Indian in Poughkeepsie is tough but having tropical fresh near were able to cook the foods we grew up on. Reminds me of Queens and Bronx.

Parking is adequate and the location is opened 365 days a year. Opens from 8am to 9 pm daily.

The meat selection & quality arent great. The prices arent that great either. Its also not a very clean place.

These people are price gouging tremendously. Charging almost $10 for a bottle of hand sanitizer about 6 or 8 oz everything else in the store has gone up by three or four dollars unless you havea lot of money dont go.

Sure the place smells like dead fish on a slab of cement, but then again, there are tons of dead fish in here and the floor is cement. This is grocery shopping, Caribbean barrio style. If you like sancocho, youll find your yucca here. Lots of it. Hundreds of pounds in stock on any given day. Ripe plantains galore. Fermented chicha made from overripe pineapples? The pineapples are stacked high and wide. Corn tortillas? Buy fifty, made in Mexico, for 2 bucks. Go for it! Do they have Goya products? Sure, but youll have to look for them. Lo tienen todo.
