I was not expecting such great service! I bought a top of the line Phonak hearing aid, their Marvel model through ZipHearing on the internet and saved over $1000 per hearing aid. Michael Ruffen of Access Hearing Service was the local instrument specialist servicing the model I bought.I brought my hearing aid in yesterday for adjustments. He first examined my ear canal with an optical probe that displayed on the 32 inch TV in front of me, no doubt what was being seen - my ear canal was clogged with wax! When this happened in the past with audiologists, it involved a trip to the doctors office for an ear cleaning, a pain, but not this time! Michael had the tools at hand and cleaned out the offending wax in a few minutes - a trip to the doctors office was not needed.While he was at it, he also cleaned the wax out of the hearing aid and put new ear plugs on the hearing aid receiver. He accomplished all this in 15 minutes! To say i was pleased would be an understatement. When I need my next hearing exam, this is the place I will go to.If you want to buy or adjust hearing aids, go to Michael Ruffen at Access Hearing Services - he comes from a family of audiologists (his father) and knows how to please his patients.

I have seen hearing aid specialists since childhood and never have I encountered someone as kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful as Michael. I found him through the Starkey provider listing by chance and really lucked out. Michael truly understands how important it is to have a hearing aid specialist you feel comfortable with and he goes out of his way to make you feel well taken care of. He went out of his way beyond the call of duty.I came in because one of my hearing aids malfunctioned, and he not only included me on the conversation with the manufacturer but I was able to for the first time have an optical camera put in my ear so I could see inside my ear canal magnified on the large screen in his office, which was fascinating and very helpful. Even though I have a unique type of hearing aid, he took it upon himself to go through hoops to help me. He very generously gave of his time and listened to my concerns, and even did a thorough flush out of my wax buildup.I could not recommend a hearing aid specialist more highly. There are good people in this world and Michael is one of them.

In my hr of need I lost my dome to the plastic piece of my hearing aide. I called michaels office. I was in the area and he told me they were closed, but said he was going to call me back in a few and to sit tight. I did, he also, called, we met at petco . Since I was headed to a wedding the next day. He was able to help me out.
