These guys are amazing!!! Attentive, happy, very welcoming! 1st time here with my husband. He had cheeseburger and onion rings and me veggie omelet. Let me tell you it was the best omelet and I had a small bite of the cheeseburger and it was very good. My biscuit was so light and flaky, wonderful.They stayed open way over closing time so it looks like it is a favorite of many people. Music was not super loud either. We have to rate a 5 star here

We were in town visiting my son today and wanted to try something we hadnt had. Based on reviews and looking at the menu online, I decided this had enough options for the 9 of us. I seriously cannot complain about anything. I cant remember everything we all ordered, but my husband had the 5 car pile up and I had the border omelet. So yummy! Great portions! Our waitress was super nice and handled our large group with ease. We also made sure to indulge in both the traditional cinnamon roll and the maple pecan. Massive and delicious! We will definitely be returning. Side note: the parking lot was packed so we were a bit apprehensive and expected a wait. There was not one and we got right in. We went around noon. They are only opened until 2pm, so plan accordingly.

The service was great, most of the food was as well. The home fries were very crispy and the biscuits were nothing like we are use to. We would still return if we are in the area.

If you are ever in Prescott Valley, EAT HERE! Customer service was awesome, seated in 5 minutes, heaters on the patio for us city folks, haha, waiter was totally on top of it, food was delicious! Definitely a spot well return to.

The food is delicious and very generous portions. The back burner is Prescott Valleys hidden secret. Its worth the drive and even has outdoor seating. Great family friendly restaurant i highly recommend for anyone visiting.

I have visited this place for breakfast several times now, one of my favorite when in the Prescott Valley area. Had the corned beef hash breakfast - was to die for. Also had to get one of those jumbo cinnamon buns - took it home and it barely made it to the table. Would highly recommend - a busy place but always friendly and food is A+.

I wasnt that fond of the tortillas used in my breakfast, and the owner not only came over and spoke with me, but also comped my breakfast. I was absolutely impressed with the management, and totally willing to give this place another try. Unfortunately the hostess, very rudely sat us at our table, and was even ruder when I took my bill upfront to pay. I wasnt sure where to pay. The hostess is the reason I will not be returning to this restaurant. Dont treat people that way.

It was a great experience. The food was substantial. I had the five car pile up, and it was loaded. It is a great combination of hash browns three eggs chicken fried steak and gravy, Im sure there was more but I cant remember. It was a very tasty combination. The menu has a great selection and the pricing is reasonable. Highly recommended. Give it a try you will not be sorry

This place is always good. The 5 Car is my favorite. The portions ate always a lot so yoi will either eat until you hate yourself or have leftovers. The biscuits and gravy are pretty good. The pancakes are really good. It says only a double or a single stack for the pancakes but trust me the double stack is a lot. Those are the only 3 things Ive had here.Also you will almost always have to wait to be seated. It is always busy. So dont be a Karen and get butt hurt about it.Over all a great experience.

Love this place! Our favorite breakfast joint for sure. My husband loves their eggs benedict but with turkey sausage, and I love that I can build a healthy breakfast, poached egg, avocado and tomato. But if we are feeling I dulgent, the cinnamon roll is a go to for sure. Love that you can adjust any dish to make it your own. Great food and wonderful atmosphere!

Great food, excellent service. Took my son for his birthday. They gave him a free cinnamon roll which he shared (it was huge.) Absolutely delish. My Santa Fe burger was cooked perfectly. We will be back.

This place was so good! We visited from Illinois and went with a friend who comes here often, and we were so impressed! The food is delicious, and the service was great! Food came out quickly, and the owner was there, walking around and talking to tables to make sure everything was going well. You have to get the cinnamon roll, its huge and amazing!! I loved this place so much I bought a mug to remember it :)

Friends took me here for lunch..Matt was our server ..he was awesome and quite cute...the bacon cheeseburger was to die for..we came home with cinnamon rolls..the maple pecan was the best...if they toasted the pecans first it would elevate that awesome roll just a little more...cant wait to go again 😊💖

I have been frequenting Backburner for many years. It’s thee most consistent restaurant, even given all the challenging times. They really make you feel comfortable and part of their family when patronizing. I was on my way to Jerome and stopped here. The place has great food I got the 5 car and the lady got a burrito. Both were more than filling. We ended up getting the maple pecan cinnamon roll too and the flavor was on point. The service was friendly and I would visit again on my visits up north.

I got the Confused in Prescott Valley, it was good. However, I was expecting the peppers, onions & ham to bed cooked with the hash browns, not just raw placed on top of the hash browns. Since I was on a schedule, I didnt send it back. Service was quick & friendly.

I live nearby, so I frequently eat breakfast or lunch here. Only rarely is the food anything less than excellent, and even then it is very, very good. My wife really enjoys the omelets and the Eggs Benedict. The staff is incredible; they are very friendly and professional, and they seem to genuinely care about their customers. The atmosphere is very pleasant, with decor that expresses the owners love for this great nation. I can think of only two suggestions I would make: for them to add a coat hook in the mens room stall, so gentlemen dont have to lay their jacket on the floor when using the facilities on the way out after dining; and to add creamed chipped beef over toast (what us old military guys affectionately refer to as SOS) to the breakfast menu.

The tortillas on the chilaquiles were way overcooked. It was super crunchy like old potato chips. The hash browns were super disgusting, non-edible.. cold and rubbery (On both plates) other than that the rest tasted ok.The waitress was very robotic whenever she came over but her timing was great. Not quite sure if Ill go back.

Phone order for pick-up. Quick, efficient, courteous service. Place looked clean and cozy. Ordered from the Early Mourner menu: Chorizo grab & go burrito was good an a bit spicy. They pack it with a side of salsa. Pancake w/side of bacon was packed separate (which was well received) and included maple syrup/butter. Pancakes were a perfect plate size and were a good flavor, thickness and taste. They offered plastic utensils. Total for two breakfasts was $15-

Today, breakfast. Bacon was served uncooked. It was returned. Instead of removing it from the bill the waitress brings an enormous cinnamon roll we didnt want and cant eat and didnt accept. She still didnt remove bacon from bill. Wont return food is mediocre.

Some of the best food PV has to offer. Several menu items were different from the traditional norms that every other place in the area serves but instead they have clearly thrived to set themselves apart. Getting a place to sit and eat here is clearly a struggle for a reason. My wife and I both enjoyed a delicious meal here however, it also seems to be quite noisy. A large group of young adult males arrived some time before us this morning and it caused serious problems. Our waitress had to practically yell to speak to us and in turn we had to do the same. This led to conversation being little to nonexistent and would normally have gone a long way to hurt the experience but little can be done to fix that.

Meh, is what it is. Blob of food on a plate, decent prices, cute Lil joint with nice staff. Maybe they once cared about the food and its taste.

Good out of the way local restaurant. Didnt care for the country potatoes, to dry. Busy place, dont be in a hurry when you go.

I had told the person I was with that I basically didn’t like what I had ordered, and someone whom I had no idea at the time was the manager, had walked by at the same time and said he heard my comment and wanted to get me something else.I insisted that he didn’t need to do that for me, he persisted and offered me a cinnamon roll if I wouldn’t take another meal, I told him it wasn’t necessary- and he gave me a roll and my plate for free anyway even though he didn’t have to!So kind, especially for something that wasn’t their mistake AT ALL. It’s not their fault that I ordered something I didn’t end up liking, yet he was more than generous in making it right.The guest experience here went above my expectations.

Sharing my personal experience here, this restaurant has one of the best croissant breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. Being gluten intolerant, I am careful when choosing to eat bread. OMG. This is worth the gluten. Good coffee, too! And great service. Plus, they are doing everything right to jeep patrons and staff healthy and safe. So good to see them thriving in this current climate.

I have been going to this place for about three years and everything I have tried has been not just good but fantastic. They homemake just about everything. Staff and management are gems. Thank you for always being consistent in the wonderful food!!

My good friend suggested the 5 car and instead I went with the biscuits and gravy because I love biscuits and gravy. But as soon as my husband and everyone else’s five cars came and I tried some I had Instant food envy. Also, definitely try their Bloody Mary. Thank God I was a cook for years because I plan on re-making that meal at home. I live in Phoenix so I can’t really just pop in but I will definitely be back.

There was a long 20 minute wait, with nowhere to sit, people crowded everywhere, only some people wore masks, we opted to wait in our car, but saw after 30 minutes people were being seated after we had already been checked in, they said they texted us, but never got a text.After being seated asked for a specific drink, server brought something else, told her, she huffed and did an eye roll, brought new drinks, but there were some floaties in it...didnt drink,Pancakes were so dry they stuck to roof of mouth, eggs were not cooked all the way, we wanted medium and there was still clear wet membrane, they give you small packets of salt and pepper which was the only good thing about the whole meal.Will not be going back to this place again.

Because Im weird, I just took a comprehensive look at many of the reviews (not all 1,000+, but SO MANY reviews) and I noticed that many of the bad reviews were unfounded (as the restaurant was inspected by the Yavapai Health Department and those claims were found to be untrue). In fact, they earned a golden plate recently, which is given to the cleanest restaurants, so I think its safe to say that this is a VERY clean establishment.I also found that many of the complaints were about the noise level in the restaurant. I thought it sort of strange, as 1. A noisy restaurant usually means people are having a great time and are happy to be there, and 2. Restaurant owners cannot control the noise level of their patrons (and if they tried to, wouldnt that be totally absurd/rude?). I thought that the reply one of the owners gave in response to this complaint was very sweet. He said, We are thankful for the sounds of families and friends enjoying a great meal together. I mean, isnt that what its all about? :)I have been to the Backburner several times and I freakin love this place. The staff are always very friendly and the food is always amazing. I get the Confused in Prescott Valley because both the title and the dish seem to have been made for me. My kids love the pancakes and the prickly pear tea is sooo yummy.I have an odd dream of going in there and having people yell NORM! when I come in, like Im at Cheers. Ill have to visit more often for that to happen though, haha. My daughter really wants to work there when shes a teenager and she said shell try to get her friends to do it when I come in. We may be a couple of weirdos but we know good food when we have it, and this is VERY good food!

This is our neighborhood go-to place for breakfast! We love the omelettes and their cinnamon rolls are definitely worth the calorie splurge! Great hash browns too! We have always had extraordinary service at the Back Burner and the owners are on site, very personable, and invested in complete customer satisfaction. This is our favorite breakfast spot in PV. Highly recommend!
