Gray Dog was one of my favorite shops to go to growing up in Prescott. They have good customer service, and a great staff. Good prices, and it has just a great atmosphere in general.

A very nice eclectic guitar store.

It’s a nice store. But they only sell guitars and related supplies. The pedal selection was weak if I was looking for pedals I would go online. Pretty much zero music scene in Prescott anymore. They cater to trendoids in my opinion. The selection was a huge bummer for me nothing but acoustic guitars.

By far my favorite guitar shop that i’ve been to. The variety of instruments and services astounded me. Addison is super kind and patient with his customers. He also has years of experience playing guitar so I trust him with any advice he gives. I 10/10 recommend and I will be returning in the future with any guitar and ukulele questions I have.

Gray Dog Guitars is a wonderful treasure located in the heart of historic downtown Prescott, AZ.I moved to this quaint mile-high town in search of a healthier life. When it came to buying, selling, setting-up and repairing my guitars, I assumed I’d be making many trips down to Phoenix to meet my musical needs.I was pleasantly surprised to find a local music store filled with unique stringed instruments that is owned and managed by the coolest cats (or dogs). Gray Dog has a welcoming vibe that feels like home. It’s the perfect place to demo new and used guitars, sell an old axe on consignment, or get top-notch guitar tech/luthier work done. It’s everything I look for in a music store and much, much more . . . it’s friendly, funky, groovy . . . and . . . has competitive prices. You know, downtown shops tend to be tourist traps, but that’s not the case with Gray Dog Guitars. Their services and instruments are affordable and dangerously tempting. ;-) I plan to pop-in weekly to check out new arrivals and to chat with other customers and staff until they kick me out. I give this gem of a store two big thumbs up. It’s definitely worth a visit or two for anyone in the area who’s into music. I think they even have a rack or two of vinyl. Small shop with lots of variety. Taylor dealer. The owner is a great guy. Stopped in on my way to Phoenix. It is a bit of a jaunt from I-17 but worth it. It is in downtown so parking might be tricky, but if you are taking a break anyway there are some good restaurant around there. Will definitely keep up with and support this shop.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I went in asking for a recommendation on strings for a particular guitar, and the owner gave the whole rundown on what to expect from each option. Even without that, its the best local guitar shop Ive ever visited, hands down. Great prices on strings, as well.

One of the employees, Sean, is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled with guitars. The whole shop is top tier, and Sean certainly knows what hes doing.
