Awesome vibe and decor. Drinks are ok! I tried their draft latte which was a little too sweet for me. Think I would try their cold brew if I ever stopped by again. Very, very busy! Most of the customers are great with wearing masks which was nice. But as of October 2021, seem like none of the employees are. Regardless, we felt safe enough to sit in and enjoy our drinks. But it is something to note if anyone is concerned about indoor dining!
Came here for the first time on Saturday and the coffee and hot chocolate was delicious!!! I also got a muffin, which the girl describe that was similar to a pumpkin muffin which was really, really good!!!I was very impressed with the staff!!! They really enjoyed working at the place and had a fantastic attitude!!! Staff and atmosphere was a HUGE POSITIVE!!!! FANTASTIC ESTABLISHMENT!!!
On the way to Sakrid, we pass three other purveyors of coffee, a couple of national brands and one popular local place. For us its worth the extra distance. Mainly, the coffee is simply outstanding. But also because the place is modern, clean and inviting. and welcoming. Before Sakrid, we used to go on a regular basis to the popular local coffee shop at their Nassau Street location. We did this for many years. Each time we would see the same people behind the counter and order the same thing. And each time the staff behaved like they never saw us before, like it was always the first time. Sure the coffee was good, but at Sakrid the coffee is just as good, and after the first week they know our names and what we order. We feel welcome.
I am pleased to say that Sakrid has found a place in my coffee routine. The location is bright and welcoming. The staff are attentive and make good drinks. And the management makes you feel at home. I recommend them without reservation.
Delicious coffee and delightful experience! I guarantee youll admire the woman running the place.
Been here multiple times and always thoroughly enjoyed the coffee and service. I had my first bad experience otherwise this would have been a 5 star rating.I was offered a Still Cold Brew instead of Nitro cold brew which I ordered. When questioned, The cashier said pointed to the draft noting that it was Nitro. Upon asking where are the bubbles and mild foam that you see as you fill it in which is so noticeable feature of a Nitro. The cashier went to Barista and asked “is this supposed to be bubbly “ ? I was shocked that the the cashier didn’t know how a Nitro looks or tastes like but anyways pointed to regular air bubbles that form when you pour liquid into a cup and said these are the bubbles. SMH, thanks for saying your repeat customer is wrong. You guys have great coffee, please make sure your team actually enjoys having a coffee and taste all Beverages on your menu before you put them in front of a customer. customer service is 100% within your control.
Very good (and strong) coffee.Only serve Oat and Macadamia milk for non- dairy options.Small number of pastry options. Good quality, if on the small side.
Great coffee and scones. I had the latte and it wasn’t bitter at all. The decor is absolutely beautiful too!
I really gave this place a try. I came in a few times after I had made an online order. I am currently working at a place with a strict lunch schedule, which is why I order online. Usually when I order online from coffee shops, they tend to have the coffee ready by the time I get there. Every single time I have ordered online in advance, it hasn’t been ready. They usually make my coffee when I get there. The first time around, I noticed it was a bit busy so I let it go. The second time around, I arrived and it wasn’t busy at all. The staff was hanging out and talking. My coffee wasn’t made and I had to wait for it. I’ve been late going back to work because of this. Today, I ordered my coffee 40 minutes in advance, hoping that this would give them more time. When I got there, again the staff was hanging out and talking. They happened to receive my order when I got there (what they said), and blamed it on their computer system. I had ordered a matcha oat latte because it was available when I ordered it. I was told that they didn’t have oat milk - and that it tasted better with almond milk anyways. That was a lie. I paid $5.32 for a 12oz glass of milk. On top of that, I had ordered a hot drink and they gave me an iced drink. I didn’t have time to wait for them to remake it. So I took it. I was late again to my job, with an overpriced glass of almond milk. One of the staff members told me they needed a new computer system, and while that may be true, I also believe they need to attend to their responsibilities such as actually checking for orders in the future.
Amazing coffeeeeee and vibe of the place. Just love it.
I love coffee and live locally but when I showed up the door was locked and when they opened and I asked if it was a private party they rolled their eyes at me like duh! Oh, excuse me…….I thought u were a new coffee shop looking for future loyal customers. A snobby Princeton elitist coffee shop- no thanks!
Go for it! I had a yummy, creamy, sweet iced vanilla latte. My sister got the latte on tap, which tasted like thick dark chocolate. And my other sister got their regular coffee, which was not hot enough for her, but which tasted/smelled good. They also just started serving this lemonade/tea with muddled strawberries and spearmint, which was the PERFECT summer refresher. So tasty, and such friendly service.Nice vibe. Im excited to go back after covid and chill in this light, airy corner coffee shop!
My favorite coffee place in town. I love having their beans on hand for my French press. The flavor and quality of the coffee here has raised my standards.
Super kind, helpful staff. Unique flavors. Let me sample before buying. Indoor and outdoor seating. Will come back!
Sakrid offers a unique, delectable experience and has the kindest baristas in the world. Robust coffee, dynamic offerings like nitro cold brew, and the best oat milk latte around. The workers treat you like family here. The style is much more modern than other coffee shops around, yet they follow a simple aesthetic: great coffee and a relaxed vibe.
My wife asked to order, and the man at the counter practically just walked away without acknowledging. She had to wait another two minutes for another server, when there was no person in line.Good luck competing with Small World and Rojo.
A new coffee spot in Princeton downtown! The space is bright and clean, might feel almost cold to some people. Personally I loved the wide and simple space. The coffee wasnt attractive enough though. I wouldnt say Im picky on coffee taste, but even I would be hesitant getting coffee here instead of other cafes in Princeton. Their coffee is not too strong nor sour, almost bland. The staff were friendly and the service was nice! I would say 3 1/2 stars!
Took a day trip up the highway during my staycation and stumbled across this shop. Im no coffee connoisseur and Im fairly new to the cold-brew game, but I do know what I like (coffee that tastes like coffee; I dont like notes of this or hints of that) and Sakrids cold brew (on-tap!) is absolutely delicious. I liked it so much I felt like I was cheating on my fave local spot!
Huge Disappointment - being local residents, my husband and I, recently tried eagerly if this brewery would live up to the hype. On a day that was NOT busy, the lady at the counter AND the barista collectively got my teenagers order WRONG. A cold brew was in the end offered as a hot brew, and my teenager was too polite to counter their mistake. NOT visiting AGAIN. Tip - - learn to pay attention to the customers.
Great coffee, clean atmosphere, excellent almond croissants and other pastries. Peaceful haven on a busy corner.
The staff was so friendly both times I visited, even though I came in very early in the morning. The coffee was so delicious, and I usually dont prefer the taste of coffee to begin with! I ordered a macchiato the first time and a cortado the second, and both were equally enjoyable in their own rite, plus the presentation was beautiful. I fully intend on returning soon!
Friendly staff, fast service, and good prices. Good location and ambiance
Great coffee, beautiful interior, quick WiFi, several dairy-free options and friendly staff!
I’m not sure what those other reviewers were talking about.I can’t express how glad I am to finally have an ultra-modern, high quality coffee shop in Princeton. Rojo’s and Small World don’t even compare. If you’re looking for a NYC style coffee shop in the heart of Princeton (as I was), this is the place for you.Immediately as I entered the establishment, I was greeted by 4 lovely staff members that informed me that this was their “soft opening” and to expect several changes in the coming weeks.Looking around, the place is absolutely gorgeous. Large windows throughout, cool wooden detailing on the walls, a crisp white aesthetic, and state of the art equipment - they’re using a Sanremo espresso machine (if you didn’t know - they’re top of the line). There’s some sort of futuristic water infuser that some of the workers were using to produce fruit-infused tea and water drinks.I asked to take some photos because I was so taken aback with the design of the place. They even have countertops made from a local tree that fell. The barista recommended I try their nitro cold brew, and a shot of their single origin Burundi roast. The cold brew was creamy without anything even being added to it. The Burundi was slightly tangy and citrusy for an espresso, but definitely up there in the top shots of espresso that I’ve consumed in my life – and trust me – that number is well into the hundreds.I settled on a cortado with the Burundi, and it was steamed to perfection. I, myself, own an espresso machine (it’s no Sanremo) so I can be a stickler on the ratio of water to grounds and the consistency of the milk. This one was on point. I noticed another reviewer noted that the heads weren’t being purged... the barista purged it twice, once before pulling the shot, and once after. I also noticed their lids for cold drinks have a hole so the usage of straws isn’t necessary, and I’m glad they’re being environmentally conscious.Long story short – I will be a repeat customer. Don’t let these other reviews fool you, these guys really know what they’re doing. Give it a try.
Really great coffee. We usually get their coffee beans and oat milk lattes on the regular. Highly recommend picking up a pastry while you’re at it.
Their coffee is delicious. Also if you buy a bag of coffee you get a cup free
Horrible customer service! Cannot reach them using the phone number they have on their website and no response on Facebook.
Excellent coffeeEnjoyed unique flavors
Sakrid gets a lot right for a town that was badly in need of a 3rd wave roaster. Good atmosphere and good drinks. One thing they could really improve on is their training of staff. When buying beans for the first time, it wasn’t listed on an Ethiopia label if it was natural or washed process. The staff member kind of fumbled, mentioned the farm, and told me the beans looked “mangled”. It could’ve been a misunderstanding or he misheard me, but it was a pretty simple question that was tripped over and not corrected by the barista pulling shots. I wasn’t even trying to quiz, I just am picky with naturals. Still bought the $17 bag. They’ve got growing to do, but I think they can do it.
Good cappuccinos and espressos.
Absolute best latte Ive ever had. 10 stars
I love coming here to grab a quick espresso they also have very good chi lattes here!
Love this place! After living in cities where coffee culture was big, I was disappointed when I moved to Princeton for lack of a coffee shop with excellent coffee and a welcoming environment... until Sakrid opened!! Not only is the coffee great, Sakrid provides a lovely space to work and connect with others in the community. The staff is kind and welcoming. The location is ideal and the ambiance beautiful. Thanks, Sakrid, for filling a void in the community and serving my coffee addiction. ☕️❤️
Very nice staff, but did mess up my order. In the end, it was good coffee.
Best espresso in town.. every single time. Lattes are amazing 👏
Im so so grateful Sakrid Coffee Roasters exists. While I can make a proper latte, cortado, or drip at home, its always nice to switch the scene up and have a cool cafe or coffee shop to get things done and to simply just be around others. For me, good coffee isnt enough--the right aesthetic + vibe has to be there. In Central Jersey, there arent many options. Sakrid has a minimalistic aesthetic and eclectic crowd, young + old. There are great seating options for whatever you fancy: sidewalk window facing stool seating wrapping the entire shop, single chairs by the front and back, and shared elevated tables with stools, in addition to counter seating. Outlets everywhere.Annie (the woman that manages Sakrid) is so kind and sincere, and her smile emits warmth. Ill save the story, but she showed me her graciousness that went such a long way for me, but to her, was simply such a small gesture. To the oat milk fans, they use the v. hipster Minor Figures brand (the only other oat milk that hangs with Oatly--IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW!). One thing that stood out to me was the pure maple syrup next to the simple syrup and honey for everyone to use. This is big, and Ive never seen another coffee shop do this. Most brunch places dont even offer pure maple syrup, so this is a small (and expensive) feat that goes such a long way. They use beautiful all notNeutral glassware and mugs (again, an If you know, you know).
Sakrid is easily in my top 3 favorite spots to get high-quality caffeine. What really sets it apart for me is their passion for the coffee bean. If asked, the owners and baristas will talk to you about their travels to Latin America with the goal to find sustainable coffee farms in which to source beans from. Sakrid has become a staple of my wife and Is weekend routine, and its a place I cannot recommend more.
The best coffee in town
We love the coffee here. We’ve been coming for a year now and it’s always consistent.
Best roaster in town. Extraordinarily nice team!I wish there were less laptop campers - I almost always have to take my coffee to go.
Great Coffee, rich and robust. Reminds of Cafes in Sydney Australia.Tried Croissants for breakfast - unfortunately they were not fresh ... will give it a try once more as I understand that Sakrid gets it from ‘Little Chef Bakery’ which has excellent stuff. Overall 5/5 on Coffee
One of the best cappuccino in New Jersey. Flavor is always consistent.
The coffee was so cold. The service was good and the woman in the front desk was so very kind.
This is what true, quality coffee tastes like. I am so picky about my coffee and always have to settle when I go out. The people are friendly, the place is so clean and pleasing to sit in. The coffee is like no other. By far, my new favorite place for coffee.
Great coffee!
The food was very good quality.
Draft latte is great. Lots room to move around. Staff is kind and considerate. Hand sanitizer on the wall and they give out extra masks to those that need it.
People were nice about our questions, draft latte was good and oat milk mocha latte was delicious, full of flavor, and not too sweet. Place looks nice too
Excellent location and brew
I love this place! The vibe is so modern, lots of white space with a mix of oddly shaped wood chairs. The owner is amazingly sweet and kind. Personally, I get the chai tea with oat milk and a sprinkling of cinnamon over the top. What a great addition to the Princeton area!
Enjoy their house blend and appreciate the free cup of coffee when you buy whole beans.
Average at best. Was hoping for a stellar coffee experience given the “look” of the place. You don’t even experience the smell of wonderful coffee when you enter. It’s just sterile. Not that Small World is very good or consistent, but still my preference.
Not a fan of what we got
Love this place! The hours are a bit inconvenient (opens too late and closes too early) but it has wonderful natural lighting and good quality coffee. Would recommend as a place to study for sure!
I really like the coffee beans at Sakrid, the Relativity blend, and Lake Kivu (Rwanda) Natural Processed are very good👍 nice atmosphere as well, friendly and relaxed 👍
Great coffee! Friendly staff. Cute atmosphere. I love this place. Highly recommend!
Delicious draft latte and cappuccino, beautiful space, and friendly baristas. Im excited that this place has opened, and I cant wait for the hard launch! On the pricey side, but thats to be expected for a quality coffee place downtown. Try it out before they get super busy!
Had a draft latte here and it was delicious! A lot less crowded than Small World Coffee and they take credit cards! This is our new Princeton coffee shop.
Exceptionally good coffee! Also they have a great selection of coffee on tap....cold brew, nitro brew, even latte on tap! Great place.
Very bitter coffee, and definitely overpriced.I don’t recommend it .
This is a new coffee joint in Princeton (because there wasnt enough already) I only had a small $3 drop coffee, but it was tasty enough. It was early and the place was mostly empty. Cool decor and good vibe. I would go here over starb*cks every single time
I like their coffee but will not be supporting them anymore after seeing how careless the employees are about public health. I went in to pick up my order and one employee was not wearing a mask, while another had hers only covering her mouth (but not nose). If you care about following health guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID, stay away from Sakrid.
The best coffee in town paired with an awesome staff.
Super good quality drinks. I’ve had golden lattes, matcha, and oat milk lattes here and they have all been AMAZING. The baristas are so incredibly helpful and make my drink to my specifications every time. This is my go to spot in Princeton, and every other place makes me feel underwhelmed now. I only wish there was more seating! It’s always busy when I go in (well, pre covid when we could go inside) and I am happy about that!!
Coffee was spot on and the atmosphere is very calming. Cant wait to come back.
I went in hoping to find a great place to hang out (like Small World) but with much better coffee (like Rojos). However, the space is uninviting and cold, the service is friendly but slow (7+ minutes to get a cortado), and the coffee is tasteless. Go to one of the other coffee shops in town. This one needs a lot of work. I’ll try it again in a few months if it makes it to see if it’s improved.
Great place to work or read a book. The coffee and staff are very friendly and well trained.
My spirit dwelled naturally at the furniture of their tree-structure bartop. Bold and clean like my favorites tend to be.
This is a serious coffee place, and what they serve is amazing! Right now they are just in soft launch, so FYI the location is right on the corner of Chambers and Nassau.
Awesome
Very good coffee, nice waiters on the main Street. Couldnt be better.
Amazing espresso coffee ! Smooth & tasty ! Well worth a visit
We are Australian coffee snobs and Sakrid is the only place around that gets it right! Annie and the team are wonderful.
My favorite coffee place in Princeton
Excellent coffee, the baristas were lovely (Joey and Carly), and the atmosphere is perfect for Princeton. Best coffee in town
Best almond milk cappuccino I’ve ever had
Went during soft opening. Nice, family-friendly environment but that’s it. Espresso was over-extracted. Group heads weren’t being purged between shots. Not to mention the Beautiful Sanremo mistakenly cornered against the wall (huge mistake new shops often make in terms of in-shop culture). Misleading roasting operation based somewhere else entirely trying to come across as local entity. Please support other local roasters with sustainable green practices over cafes with contrived ambiences!!!!! Penstock or Rojo’s are two great local examples.
I really enjoyed the coffee here.
The best cappuccino I’ve ever had. Thanks!
I expected good coffee but less than one star coffee. So pricy
Nice environment and well intentioned staff but slow and disorganized service
As I am so addicted to the coffee I found this place is so stunned
Solid coffee!!! Nice people
Good tea
Great coffee
