We really enjoyed the pastries! The store was super clean and the cakes and croissants were delicious! Everything was freshly baked and tasted like authentic French desserts - highly recommend.
The place is so adorable and clean. Smells like heaven when you walk in and the dessert presentation is so appealing. Took home the carrot cake and it was the best I’ve ever had. I’m usually disappointed with a frosting that is too sweet or too gritty but this was perfection. I am definitely going back and would recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth!
It was my pleasure to be introduced to The Pastry Room over the weekend. On arriving there, we were struck by the clean and aesthetically pleasing artwork at their front counter. Just past that first floral and kitchen artwork, we encountered a well organized menu, friendly staff, and a plethora of pleasing choices. The smoothie menu was joyful in its ingredients and I chose the brain booster smoothie made mostly from blueberries and a hint of fine crushed nuts with almond milk. We also sampled the amazing raspberry croissant and pan aux raisin which left us with lasting memories and a promise to return to this shop often.
We like this place - sweet goodies and coffee twenty meters off Witherspoon
The cutest little place ever ! The desserts that we tried were delicious. My favorite was the chocolate mousse pastry with a hazelnut center. It was absolutely delicious. The carrot cake was quite nice too. Peaceful and serene ambiance, it has a cute outdoor space overlooking Witherspoon grill in Princeton. Great for people watching and enjoying a quiet evening/afternoon.Aliaa the owner is a delightful host! Im definitely going back and recommending The Pastry Room to friends. 🥰
This place was such a pleasant discovery- we were visiting the area and wanted to get something sweet and refreshing. This cafe just happened to be on our way and attracted us with its tasteful design and cleanliness. We ordered coffee, smoothie and some pastries - everything was great, delicious, fresh! The owner is welcoming and very pleasant. Really pleasant experience and we will definitely stop by the place next time.
Elegant pastries and delicious drinks. Owner is very talented and also very friendly during your entire visit. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed!
Where can I begin...? So much to say about this hidden gem right in the heart of Princeton. I am originally from Paris, France and I have been looking for years for my hometown flavor. This is the first place that truly serves Parisian pastries. Not only are they so beautifully presented, but also the quality and taste of each of their pastries (savory or sweet) are just out of this world. My husband, kids, and I have become so addicted that we go there every weekend for a little treat. You will not be disappointed. And, to top it off, the owner is so sweet and welcoming.🍰(By the way, just wanted to mention, that the establishment went under new ownership and the new owner just opened her doors about 2 weeks ago.)
A lot better than the other bakery in Palmer Square, which only LOOKS nice and fancy, but does not taste good. Cute and modest little bakery on the corner of Spring and Witherspoon, very easy to miss. Desserts are baked personally by the owner. The smoothies are good as well, made with fresh fruit and no added sugar. My favorite is the Passion Fruit Tart and the Hazelnut Crunch Mousse (i think thats the name) which reminds me of a ferrero rocher. Will definitely return.
Update:I want to bump this to a 5, hours thing hasnt happened in a really long time. Ive also been able to meet the owner few times and shes the nicest lady. I love that this is a female owned local business. Please support them if you can their pastries are delicious and so fresh!---The food here is great! I would give a 5/5 for that but I docked one star here due to the inconsistency of the hours of this place. They either dont open on time in the morning, sometimes are still making desserts, or they randomly close for a day and you wouldnt know (unless you checked google) since most people dont check every time before leaving for the store. That being said the quality of the pastries/food is consistently great and the ladies inside are super friendly which is why I go back. If you happen to pass by definitely give them a chance.
Excellent Coffee, croissants and very well hand crafted pastries. Had a chance to speak to owner who was very patient & humble with service first attitude. Seems very passionate about what she has brought to Princeton. Support small business - my spot for coffee!
Really fresh and delicious! Chef was there and so polite. Had awesome apple turnover tiramasu but best was panna cotta with raspberries!
Visit here Everytime we are in Princeton and yesterday was no exception! Great desserts and great service
Small boutique bakery with good dessert selection.
Held an event with a club there! It was wonderful: the cafe is really cute, the owner is friendly and nice, and the pastries are insanely tasty. I can especially recommend the almond croissant
Tarts are super delicious and well made! standards for tarts will change from this experience
Good pastries, really good eclairs. Only downside is how big the boxes are when youre literally buying a single thing, but other than that, no complaints.
Best dessert in Princeton!!!I come to Princeton almost every weekend and I only discovered this place last Friday. I had to come back again 2 days later because everything I had were so good: panna cota, chocolate mouse, tiramisu, palmier. They also have very good coffee. This place is so much better than Chez Alice - they have fancy interior, but I only like macaroons there. Pastry room is my new favorite dessert place in Princeton!
Stopped by because the pastries and desserts looked great from the sidewalk. We bought a Chocolate Mousse cake for my mothers birthday and it was spectacular. Great texture, flavor, and presentation. Ill definitely plan on getting desserts from here in the future.
OMG seriously a hidden gem!! Best Pastries I have had in a while hands down. I have tried all the almond croissants in town, this one in my opinion is the ABSOLUTE best, soft on the inside yet crispy on the outside. I just finished it and I am thinking already is tomorrow too early to show my face again. Their passionfruit tart looks AND tastes amazing (unlike other pastry shops in town where the pastries look awesome but the taste is just normal, not bad, just normal). Hidden gem, must try. Also awesome service, Aliina (the owner/pastry chef) is super sweet. So the whole experience is so worthy of 5 stars.
Beautiful bakery with great food and hospitality!
Amazing place! Highly recommend!
Its located in a very busy area of the princeton college grounds, but well worth the crowds. Fresh, delicious, and delightful variety
The most amazing key lime pie I’ve ever had. Love this place!!!
Service was great. I got there early (was supposed to pick up my order at 815 and got there at 8) and they appologized for not having it ready, and they even gave me a free dessert because they didnt have coconut mil and i had to switch to almond milk for my smoothie (i personally couldnt care less about the milk).Desserts are even better, so tasty, presented so well. Im definitely coming back
Wonderful pastries and desserts. Highlights are tiramisu, almond croissants, savory danishes. A huge hit with the whole family. And the owner is so wonderful. Can’t wait to keep trying all of their treats!!
These guys are amazing. So far I have only had their pastries but they are delicious. The key lime pie was to die for and their cheesecake was divine. I predict they will contribute a lot to my weight gain!!!
The passion fruit tart was the best Ive ever had.
All the pastries here are great but the eclairs really are amazing! You can tell theyre made fresh which is so rare.
I was so pleasantly surprised to discover the Salad and Smoothie Market yesterday. They have incredible food--try the jambalaya--and an array of healthy, fresh vegan offerings (which is a surprisingly rare find in Princeton). The owner and staff are friendly and welcoming, and their university discount also makes everything very affordable for Princeton students.
Quaint place - one of the doors opens right on Hinds Plaza Princeton (in front of the Princeton library square)Tried Tomatoes filled Pastries and Spinach filled ones - delicious
Loved this place. Love the staff. Great selection. Super fresh ingredients. Delicious homemade salad dressings which you dont find in many establishments. Great addition to Princeton!!As for poor reviews. Google, check your sources. While we are entitled to our own opinions, I think these reviews are fake. I have known the owner of this establishment and know some members of her staff and these statements are false. Hey google, check your sources of reviews.
Ive been stopping by here every time Im at the library. The location is so convenient with a door off of the library plaza and the main entrance on Spring Street. The salads are delicious, plentiful and loaded with fresh, crisp, organic ingredients and homemade dressings. Any salad can also be turned into a wrap. The large smoothies could easily be a meal unto themselves. The smoothies are dense - richly packed with good for you ingredients and so very flavorful! Its easy to customize your order, but Ive enjoyed all of their pairings. Not only can you find a super tasty, healthy and affordable meal here but you can also feel good about supporting a local business that uses recyclable and environmentally friendly containers and packaging products! The owner is incredibly kind and personable. Ive noticed lots of university and high school students coming in and engaging with the friendly staff. With the cooler weather arriving, Ill be in for the oatmeal soon!
Really fresh and delisous
Nice variety of salad, smoothies, and wraps. Very friendly staff. I will definitely be back next time I’m in the Princeton area.
I love this place, the smoothies are delicious and the owner Michelle she s awesome:) I am a loyal customer
Delicious! And big portions. Got a salad and smoothie. Guys working were very nice and helpful. I ordered the Southwest salad but they were really great about modifying with spices, add-ons, dressings, etc. I got the seasonal smoothie. Loved it. My son got the spinach salad and the body builder smoothie and he loved his and was full, which is a lot to say since we came from his hockey game. Lots of fun old-fashioned sweets in the back area! Well definitely be back!
Great smoothies, great service, cute place, paper straws
Brain Boost is the best smoothie I’ve ever had. The staff is super accommodating and kind, and they give great suggestions! There is also a discount for the University and Seminary.
They claim to be a healthy shop with smoothies in the front, but in the back they sell the worst kind of convenience store candy. Kind of absurd given all the healthy dessert options available in Princeton. From smoothie shops that have been around for twenty years to hand made desserts along Nassau. The smoothies arent anything special. You could make them in your own blender. And the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. Not a single person came in the entire 30 minutes I was there the other day. Dont recommend at all.
The passionfruit tart was perfect.
Friendly, unpretentious, quirky, inviting. Got a simple refreshing smoothie with pineapple mango and coconut water, so not too sweet but very flavorful.
Very kind owner, gives smoothie suggestions and everything tastes great.
My favorite place to get smoothies is Ticos, been going there for five years, love them. Thought Id try this place. NOT IMPRESSED. They are a dollar more, not organic though they say they are. The girl who works there is always on her phone and doesnt pay attention to customers. The salad I had tasted bland and made me sick a few hours later. Dont recommend. Would give zero stars if possible.
Incredibly delicious and beautiful pastries and desserts!!!
The owner is nice and I loved the hazelnut eclair
Friendly staff and great tasting salads & smoothies. Its one of a kind!
Nice and friendly environment
Just went in and saw the owner yelling at the young girl employee. IN FRONT OF THE CUSTOMERS. Really unprofessional and unfair. Dont know what it was about but any resentment by the girl was clearly exhibited in the watered down smoothies. Dont recommend this place both for how they treat their employees and the quality of the food.
Incredibly fresh ingredients, friendly staff. Overall, a great lunch place!
Friendly staff, amazing menu, and completely vegan. I cant choose a menu fave as it is all good.
Food was ok I like this place price is ok
Amazing food!
Great place great people
I’m a pastry connoisseur and hands down, this is the best pastry shop in Princeton, West Windsor, and Cranbury. Trust me - we explored the area - this place is it.They were sold out of their most popular items but had the red velvet and carrot cakes. Moist, rich, and not super sugary - just the way I like it. We also had the panna cotta - sooo goood! Will definitely come back again.
