My husband and I brought in our bikes for service and to have some accessories installed. The mechanic/ owner didn’t try to sell us extras or convince us to buy new- just wrote up our tickets and had our bikes ready when he promised. He even cleaned them up a bit too. Prompt, efficient service and seems like a local family owned place which is a plus! Go here!

I went in for a repair and they were fast and service was really good! He confirmed my thoughts on another local repair shop in port charlotte giving me no good advice, even after I brought up my idea! Which Im feeling good I was right now that I have a 2nd opinion! I moved here about a year ago from Fort Myers. My family owns 11 bicycles. I have been using Fort Myers Cyclery for my repairs and upkeep. I have been in Acme a couple times and found the staff to be shall we say less than pleasant. Prices were higher than any bike shop I have been in. I decided to give them another shot with something simple that I needed on short notice. A seat post bolt. I could tell when I entered nothing had changed from my previous visits. I could also tell by the salesperson’s response to my need of the bolt that they really didn’t want to help me. They made a small show of looking for the bolt. I know bicycle parts are in short supply but a bike shop without a seat post bolt? Come on. I will continue the drive to Fort Myers Cyclery where the customer is valued and treated as such. I do not recommend this shop.

I rented a bike from ACME. Winter arrived early this year, so I found a cheap flight to Florida, which happened to be to Punta Gorda (thankfully). Went from the airport right to acme, picked up the bike, and had 3 days of fun riding all over the place. Very friendly and helpful staff. They put second bottle holder and gave me some bike route maps. Bike was cannondale synapse, carbon, 105, no more then 1-2 year old model. Bike was in excellent condition: crips shifting, clean, lubed, sharp brakes, nice straight fulcrum wheels. I was offered a helmet, tools, lock, etc (didn’t needed, as I had my own). I also had my pedals, and bike-packing bags. I rode over 250 miles in 3 days. Highly recommended.

The guy that actually worked on my bike was amazing. Super helpful and really positive. The lady at the desk tried extremely hard to sell me a new bike, even after I told her I wasnt ready for that. I realize thats her job, but it was a bit pushy for my taste. I will be back beacause of the customer service of the tech.

This was my first time using this shop. I needed repairs on my older E-Trike but I had no way to transport it to the shop. They offered Pick-up and delivery service, for a fee. They come the same day I called and my bike was repaired and delivered THE NEXT DAY. It was a pleasure dealing with people who are knowledgeable, courteous, friendly and honest. My thanks to Karen and the rest of the crew.

I took my Townie in with what I thought was a bent wheel. They said they’d look at it ASAP and let me know, but they were very busy and it might be several days. A couple of hours later they called, it was a broken spoke, and it was fixed. Fast, great service and reasonable prices. My wife bought her bike at another store, but we have been taking everything to Acme for a while now.

My wife and i went in to look for a bike for her and Im extremely happy with what we got. Karen was very helpful and helped us find a great bike for my wife, definitely recommend.

My son rides BMX and had a big race in a couple hours. He needed a new chain and they stayed around so I could run down and get a new chain put on. So grateful for their help. (and he won his race that night) Been in a few times since and they are always willing to help and spread knowledge. Thank you for being so awesome!!!

Thanks again to our local bike shop, Acme Bicycle Shop!! I came in because my bike tire was done, needed a new one. However, they also discovered my chain was also long gone. Catching that now will end up saving me lots of trouble in the future. They also fixed a list of other issues I had!! It now rides so much better!! Should have gone in sooner.. I love these guys!! My wife and I bought new Townies at Acme. We already knew what we wanted, the staff was very helpful in guiding us with customizing our bikes with accessories.

This is how a business should be run. Everyone is extremely friendly. VERY knowledgeable about everything bikes. I bought my bike there, and they went out of their way to insure everything was perfect. This is the only bike shop I and my family will ever need.

They dont wear masks. Young woman with baby attached and no mask said it was a medical condition. No on else working there wore a mask either. I have asthma, not taking the chance. Took my business elsewhere.Update: Have been researching why a person cant wear a mask and havent found one. That includes...a GP, an Infectious Disease Dr, Scientific Research Papers, the CDC....well actually everyone and every report says their is no disease or illness preventing the wearing of a mask.

It was great. This is a family run business and they make you feel like family. The service was quick, efficient and reasonably priced. Cant say enough good about my experience there. Ill be a regular!

Away from home on RV trip, stopped in with blown tire. Folks were very accommodating and friendly. Ended up with needed replacement of chain and brake pads, along with tire repair. Done very competently at a very reasonable price, and had us back on road inside of an hour. Really good bike shop!!

I needed a replacement inner tube for my bike which I bought here. Wal-Mart tubes did not fit because of the stem diameter. Now to install it.

You will find a friendly staff. They listen and they know their business! The service department is excellent. There are quick and thorough service people at Acme Bicycle who will answer all your questions. I’ve been in this shop 6 or 8 times within the last year for everything from a new flywheel, to a broken axle, to a flat tire. They are good! Yesterday I bought a new bicycle from them. You will be satisfied here. I recommend them without any equivocation.

The best bicycle purchase day since my Schwinn Corvette (60 yrs ago, my 1st bike). The folks at ACME were friendly, helpful, and professional. My wife and I bought 2 bikes, one a Day-6, and an awesome fat-tire trike for me. We dealt with Jenna who made the whole thing easy with great suggestions and help with options and a good carrier, A refreshing change from the haughty attitude you get at some high-end bike shops. The rest of the team was also pleasant and very helpful, making small adjustments and equipment recommendations. The shop was clean, neat and the work area was visible to customers and well organized. These people certainly deserve the many business awards proudly displayed on the walls.

Three weeks ago my husband and I bought 2 brand new bikes from ACME and rode them home. We got the works, lights, gloves, basket and lock. Today we rode 7 miles one way and locked our bikes up at a park. After enjoying the park for an hour we could not get the lock off the bikes. We struggled with it for an hour and were now stranded. We called ACME and they came out and cut the lock off our bikes. Saved the day. That is over the top level of service.

They will take your money and not own up to their mistakes. First time using and so upset with how it was handled.

By far THE best bicycle shop in all of southwest Florida! I am extremely pleased with my new bicycle and with the experience I was given! I will most certainly recommend Acme to any of my friends and family!

I just needed an adjustment on the front brakes on my bike. We wheeled the bike in and they fixed it very quickly while we waited. Friendly and great service!

They offer a wide selection of items for every level of rider. If they dont have it in stock, their team of professionals will help you and order it in. They also offer rides on Saturdays that works well for my schedule. The experience is always very pleasant. I thank them for taking the time with me and explaining what products are and how I should use them to get the most for my money.

Started looking for a good quality brand 24 inch comfortable bike. I am short and at 71 I wanted to be able to be flat footed when sitting on the seat. I called and ask what the owner Karen would recommend. She suggested the Townie 7d. We drove down, looked, rode and bought. Theire attitude and help was great. Listened to what I needed and made it happen. Family with 3 generations in store so helpful..4 year old Jace is a soon to be manager. Top brands Cannondale and Townie, big selection. Great experience. I got the Curry coral, beautiful bike.

My experience is completely opposite of Barry Andrews review. If I ask a shop whether car, bike, motorcycle, moped, airplane, small engine, desiel, etc, to remove a part for me... To have another person stop what they are currently working on and do what I want them to on the spot right now... pronto... immediately... I full well know that I should, in good faith, be charged for such a request and work. Acme bike shop has treated me fair in all aspects of the full customer experience. I will and have suggested to fellow cyclists and bike enthusiasts to visit the shop, purchase a new bike, or have their current bike serviced there. Keep up the good work.

I was looking for a Cannondale Quick 4. I emailed the Acme Bicycle Shop in Punta Gorda, FL as a Cannondale Dealership. I got the response to my email in minutes and today I went to the shop to pick it up. The staff was very friendly. They tuned the bike so it fits to my size and they also attached some accessories, I wanted to my new bike. I am very happy and the service was awesome. Thank you!!!

Very disappointed. I purchased a quality bike from Acme that included free tuneups. Yesterday I brought the bike in for a flat repair and was told I would have to leave it for a couple days and if I wanted the tune up I would have to leave it for at least two weeks. When I asked for a tune up appointment I was told that they dont make appointments. I decided to go elsewhere, so I went to Bicycle center of Port Charlotte that promptly and courteously did the tube and checked out the bike. I was happy to pay for excellent service and even bought some accessories during my wait.I will not be buying any future bike from Acme.

Sorry for a late review. Last year I was changing the disk brakes on my bike and I broke the screw holding it on. Brought in my bike, they took of the disk but I had done way to much damage to it. So only choice was to get new Wheels, they found the perfect Oval set. It took some waiting for them to come in and be fitted to my bike, but worth the wait. They took the time to find the right wheels for my height and weight, So awesome.

My wife and I were visiting from out of town. My bike malfunctioned and these guys quickly diagnosed and executed a repair. We went for a coffee and the bike was repaired when we returned. These folks were so nice and their prices were very reasonable. We will be back and will find a reason to do more business with ACME!

When vacationing in Punta Gorda I developed electronic issues with my brand new high end gravel bike. Although I did not purchase the bike from the folks at Acme they were extremely helpful in getting me back up and running quickly. Not only did they repair the bike, they worked with Shimano to replace the defective component and install the new replacement parts.I highly recommend this small, family owned business for your bicycle sales and service. I just moved to Punta Gorda from St Louis last Dec and didnt know anyone here......I started riding my old bike for exercise but it was in dire need of some upgrades so I visited my local bike shop. What a great experience, Jenna and Karen were some of the friendliest people youd ever meet. They talked with me and sold me exactly what I needed to put my old bike back on the road. They were very knowledgeable answering all my questions and then invited me to ride with them on Saturday mornings....what a great group of people. Horrible customer support from the owner, we bought a tube and installed it without even riding on the tire. The tube was manufactured with a defect on the valve seal, she told me that there is absolutely no way that the tube could be defective in any way. I offered to pay the difference for an upgraded heavy duty tube, she offered no compromise or made any attempt to satisfy the customer. This local bike store should do more for its loyal customers instead of driving them away over ten dollars. I recommend visiting Walmart for simple items or the Port Charlotte Bike store across the bridge.

Great shop. I was looking at the reviews and saw some guy complain about them charging to remove a cassette. I often have that done when I’m traveling and don’t have my tools with me. You’re paying for the shop to be there, to be open, and to have the tools! They litterally charge 1/2 the normal price. That deserves a 5 star review.

This is my favorite bike shop in this area. I needed spacers for a mountain bike handlebar stem and no one else had it but Acme did and the price was fair. I needed a bike box to ship a bike and they had one for free when the other shops had none. Friendly staff.

Hardworking people doing good for their community. They charge a fair labor rate at every turn of a wrench. Support your local shop and they will be there for you.

I have bought 2 bikes from Acme in the last year. One of them was giving me some trouble with a funny grating noise. It took a couple visits but the mechanic worked through the issue and all is good. Friendly staff with great after the sale service.

Ignore the ludicrous review from Barry Andrews. He expects the shop to perform service for free? Do you think he works for free? I dont believe he does. His review should not be trusted. He should buy the tools and figure it out for himself. You asked for a service and you paid very fairly for that service.

These guys are pros, always reasonably priced, and willing to help.to Barry... I hate to be the bearer of bad news...but shops charge for service...if you didnt want to pay than you could have done it yourself.

I bought an Electra townie 7 bike a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it! The shop has a good selection and great customer service, highly recommend.

I was shocked at the poor customer service i received at this store today. I simply needed 1 bolt to be loosed so I could remove my rear casette. It took the mechanic less than 20 secs to undo the nut, and the shop charged me 5$ for this. When I questioned the charge and how much it was for such a small thing, the lady at the check out said she was actually going to charge me 10$. I advised her I thought this was a ridiculous charge, and that I would definitely never come to this business again, to which she responded, thats fine. I have frequented bike shops all over the world, and never have I experienced such an unhelpful attitude. If the shop had charged me one $ I wouldnt have thought twice, but Id suggest that if they had just waived the charge (as it was no work at all), that they might have gained a customer and gotten a good review. I will honestly never buy anything from this store again and I will tell other cyclists I ride with of my experience.

If i could do zero stars i would. I will never go back to this store and I will never ever recommend them to any of my friends or associates, make sure you guys read the fine print in there warranties because they are good at pointing that out when your product is faulty and they do not want to deal with it. They do not stand behind their products, especially Cannondale products, I will never buy another Cannondale, that brand is two thumbs down.

Youre gonna blast someones livelihood over being charged HALF the normal rate because it only took an experienced mechanic two minutes and two specialty tools to do the job you either dont know how to do or possess the proper tools to do so yourself? Would you walk into a restaurant and expect them to cook a steak you brought in and lose your cool if they charged you? You sir, walked into a place of business paying rent, utilities, and salaries and HONESTLY expected it for free? AFTER being informed there was a minimum service fee? You are the cancer of the world and I would suggest you re evaluate your life and rethink your position in life. Especially spouting off on someones business page when you, sir, are clearly in the wrong. Elitist attitudes and being butt hurt are no excuse for slandering someones livelihood when they were merely offering you a service you requested. I give Barry a one star review and would hereby revoke his internet privilidges were I allowed.

I just found and read the review by Tom T. This is the first that I have heard of this, Had Tom T. brought this to the manager, Karen or myself we would have addressed his problem and made it right. I am truly sorry that you had a bad experience with Acme. We are all human and sometimes make mistakes, but with not having been given a chance to correct....I can only apologize.

Hours for Punta Gorda are Monday thru Friday 10 am to 5 pm Saturday 10 am to 3 pm Sundays 12-4 pm.Port Charlotte location that was at 1700 Tamiami Trail is closed.

Terrible customer service after they knew I had a gift certificate of $100, they already had the money so they overcharged me on EVERYTHING. I even went above and beyond and spent $140 on bicycle tires, BICYCLE tires, and they refused to mount them, are you kidding? Will never go back....they offered a refund after theysaw my review 😠😠😠😠
