People were very friendly and accomodating, and, hopefully, the warranteed repair of my Touareg valve cover gasket was done well. The procedure seemed to be thorough. But there were multiple errors in the scheduling and reception that nearly led to me wasting a two hour trip from Winston-Salem to Raleigh. The scheduler put my phone number down wrong. The person receiving me thought I had no appointment and the part I had reserved wasnt in. Only through my own insistence did I get things straightened out, as the receiver didnt think to check an error in my phone number.
These guys communicate well and explain whats going on. Setting up the appointment and follow-up was very easy and handled with professionalism. Comfortable waiting area and great new coffee machine. Superior Covid procedures.

When I arrived at Leith Volkswagen, I met Alexandria and she was amazing through the whole process. I told her what I was looking for and my price range. Also, every other day she would text me with what she felt would fit my family. It took me 3 weeks to find the car of my dreams. I purchased a car that I liked. The process was not difficult. The atmosphere was friendly. They claim to be upfront and transparent but did not budge $1 on the exorbitant $700 doc fee. Amazingly the finance % moved 4 points when they were convinced that I was leaving. They didnt wash my car.I was not hard pressured by my salesperson, George, nor by the F&I guy(Phil, I think) and that made the experience pleasant. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed.
I had a wonderful experience once again. I had gotten 2 cars two years ago from this dealership and had a great experience so I went back this week. As expected the staff was wonderful and the process was outstanding. My salesman Min, his manager and the financial manager were all very personable, patient and informative. Its great to know that their service is consistent and I will continue to send my friends and family to them. I live an 1.5 hours away and Im happy to travel there because of the wonderful service.

I made an appointment to have my wheel locks removed and replaced with regular lug nuts after a local tire shop over-torqued them with an impact wrench. Joe from service got me an appointment scheduled right away and the tech did a great job with removing the wheel locks without damaging my aftermarket wheels. Everyone was very courteous and I was in and out of the dealership in less than 30 minutes. I have nothing but positive things to say about this dealership and I will definitely keep them in mind for future needs!

Hey Larry! It was excellent as always!!! The customer service was superb! The icing on the cake for me was the text I received from Travon showing me an actual real-time video of what needs to be repaired in the future. Although Im driving a late model vehicle Leith made me feels as if I was driving a brand new Bentley and serviced it as such!!!

I am updating my review after follow up from Leith VW. Travis took great care of us during the sales process, but things went sideways when we met with the finance guy and we decided to leave without the car. I have done business with Leith dealerships for many years and always been satisfied, so we were a bit shocked when we felt like we werent treated well. Credit to Max for stepping in to make things right. He contacted us to apologize and he reworked the numbers to get us the deal that we needed. Problems occur but its how they are dealt with that matters most, and in the end we got a car and a deal that we are very happy with. Thanks!
So, if you are going to have your car serviced....they seem amazing. The work was done quickly, and efficiently, and the service advisor staff was nothing short of stellar.However....I would stay far, FAR away from this dealership as far as making a car purchase. Ive sold cars, so I may have a bit more insight into things than most, but my perception of myself is that I tend to be more understanding of things than most informed buyers, knowing how things are. That being said, holy cow. We started looking at a new car while our used car was being serviced. That transition was facilitated by the service writers, congratulations! My impression of my salesperson was really that they were a bit intimidated by management. I cant quite put into words why, but my experience was soon to reveal itself. The manager called me the next day, after we had decided to forgo a new car, but a used one had caught our eye. I have no idea how, or why the communication had broken down, but between the two days somehow I became aware on the second day this dealership charges between a 700 and 800 documentation fee. It exceeded the taxes on a NOT inexpensive used car!!! The idea that a dealer can charge premium prices for cars (vice outright wholesale prices without any margin on their products necessitating such a fee), and then charge you 7-800 for the privilege of making a purchase at their dealer is outrageous. If I was in the market for a car I really needed, Id do a bit of research, and spend my money somewhere that didnt try and clean your wallet out with huge fees.
The service was quick and professional. The service advisor Joe helped to explain everything that was done and when to return.
I bought a car three months ago from Leith. Took them three months to properly transfer the tags and registration (and the person I spoke with at the dealership even admitted that they did not do the paperwork correctly.) I tried calling the dealership to fix the issue, and took 3 days of me calling numerous times a day to even get a call back. I was told by a sales manager he was the general manager, which isnβt true, and the general manager, Jeremy Jones who finally reached out to me started jumping down my throat and would not let me even fully explain myself without trying to tell me that what I experienced in their dealership wasnβt true. I have had nothing but bad experiences with this dealership and they will tell you whatever they can to get a sale. The service advisor even told me βif I had a dollar for every time one of our sales people lied I would be richβ which tells me as a customer that they continuously lie to their customers. If you want an honest and reliable dealership I would look elsewhere.
If you find yourself in the inevitable, yet unenviable position of needing major repairs for your vehicle, or perhaps just routine maintenance, then you should give the service department at Leith Volkswagen in Raleigh a try. The department is comprised of knowledgeable, kind, professional people who seem grateful for the opportunity to get your car back into proper working order for you. Matt, Adam and the rest of the staff there really are top notch. I have been pleased with the experiences I have had there over the years. We have two Volkswagen cars and the folks at Leith have done a fantastic job of making sure that they continue to serve us well.

George was and continues to be terrific. Heβs a hard worker down to polishing the spots on the car that the car wash missed. When I had an issue with the car, he tried to recreate the problem before calling me.My only issue is that I received the vehicle registration renewal and its still showing the license plate attached to the car I traded in at Leith. Its been just about two months but the DMV doesnt seem to have record that the license plate was transferred to the new VW.

Great experience. I arrived shortly before my appointment. I walked in, and was promptly greeted by Will. He was extremely friendly and checked me in. My car was taken back immediately. Matt then texted me to let me know he would keep me in the loop and if I needed anything during my visit to let him know. Literally 20-30 minutes my issue was fixed. Matt thanked me and I was on my way. Time is extremely valuable and the fact that I didnβt have to wait and the issue was resolved...A+. Expectations were met.
I could not schedule an appointment at my local VW dealership to address a Add-Blue service issue (Touareg TDI) which really put me in a difficult position. I had to attend a meeting in Raleigh and took a chance of calling Leith VW to check if they could possibly fit me in for a out-the-blue appointment (a call at 4:30 pm). Well to my surprise, they scheduled my service appointment with no problem despite the last minute call and even worked with me as far as appointment time due to the distance of traveling from Wilmington. While at the dealership, they treated me (and my vehicle) as if we were a regular local customer. The staff were professional and the hospitality was a definitely a 10.I truly appreciate the extra mile the dealership went through helping me schedule a last minute appointment to take care of my baby (Touareg). I had to start taking care of my car after my husband of almost 45 year passed away. Im sure glad I had a Volkswagen. My first visit was a simple matter. Then it started hesitating and mechanical issues started happening at most inconvenient times. I took my Tiguan in and tried to explain what was happening - not knowing what was wrong. Every single person was super. The guys didnt treat me like a crazy old woman when I was telling them how the car was doing or when they were telling me what was wrong. I went in to buy a Tiguan on Monday and worked with Michael to complete this task. It went amazingly smooth and I was actually in complete shocked on how quickly the paperwork took. Last time I bought a car I felt like I was there all day. I went there at 9am and left 2 to 3 hours later. Michael was fantastic to work with and knowledgeable about volkswagen products. I would recommend this dealership to anyone and ask for Michael!Update:Since I have purchased this vehicle they took forever to pay off my trade in which was over a month and they have yet to register my vehicle with the state. It has been over 2 months!! This is absolutely inexcusable! I really am considering hiring a lawyer. Between yo-yo sales and failed deliveries of registration to the state I would never recommend this place to anyone. If I could give 0 stars I would. I dont understand why you guys cant uphold your end... why do I have to receive letters stating that I had an insurance lapse when you have yet to register my new vehicle???

Matt was extremely helpful when I showed up with 2012 Touareg and the crazy thing my side mirrors were doing! He was clear as to the timeframe it would require to assess my situation, order parts and return for service. He dealt with my extended warrantee and my vehicle was fixed!
The same way they take pics of your car before servicing it. Take pics of the quote they give you for service! Some how it gain $40 more when it was time to pay for services once I mention I had a $20 coupon, mysterious shop fees, etc.Takes pics of your vehicle engine compartment! You go in with this but leave with it missing but told it was never there in the first place! They have gotten paid almost $400 for services but your word doesnt mean anything! Have a good day sir! This is the best dealership! Everything is very clean and organized and the staff is friendly and helpful. All of my services are always done really fast and always done really well. Will checked us in and even though we were over 15 min late gave us no problem at all. He was really professional and checked us in very quickly. Our oil change and look over was also super quick less than half and hour from our technician there David. He always does amazing work and makes sure to let us know if we need anything else that we didnβt think of or know. We actually ended up buying a new car while we were there this time. A 2019 Atlas and our salesperson Mike was amazing and so accommodating. We had been waiting to get one since they first came out and they had a great sign and drive event going on. We looked at three different ones and changed our mind on options a million times and the whole time he was very patient and helped find the perfect fit! They donβt hassle you into a bunch into all the extra warranties if you decide not to go with them like other places too but at the time they go through the things you need. And the financing was done in less than 30 min!! We chose the Atlas that has the two captains seats in the back and two seats on the third row bench. It has the leatherette interior and the exterior is a beautiful blue. I highly recommend this vehicle! No matter if you need service or if you are in the market for a new vehicle you should go to the Volkswagen in Raleigh! I promise you will be impressed with any Volkswagen you choose, they are made with care and the quality shows! Make sure to ask for Will in the service area, and you definitely want the highly skilled mechanic David to work on your vehicle! And on the sales side make sure you ask for Mike, he will make sure you get the vehicle that fits every need and want you have.
My car is covered under warranty and I also have the extended warranty but it felt like the service person was looking for ways to charge me. I was charged $75 to tighten a pipe that had come lose after I ran over something in the road. I havent run over anything! And I wasnt given the opportunity to see this loose pipe. There is a engine cover underneath the car so I dont know how I could have run over something that hit the pipe to cause it to come lose. This is the first time that I been to a dealership and felt like I was dealing with a shady weekend mechanic who was trying to take advantage of me.
Test drove a car the day before. The salesperson called me at 1:30pm to make sure I was coming to close the deal. I said Id be there between 3 and 3:30. On my way there, salesperson calls me at 2:30pm to say ...the car sold dog!Horrible.
Havent bought a new care in almost 15 years. Prior experiences have always been high pressure, confrontational and generally unpleasant. When I visited Leith VW, I was able to walk the lot looking at cars without being badgered. When I went looking for a salesperson and walked into the showroom, I was genuinely surprised at the casual, laid-back attitude. My salesman, George was young, friendly and knowledgable. While there was a touch of the old-time (ie, Let me go talk to my manager), I never felt pressured. I ended up buying, and am very pleased. Did I get the dream deal? Probably not. But I felt okay with the deal in the long run. I beat Edmunds recommended price and got almost what I wanted on my trade-in. I would recommend Leith VW to anyone. Leave the hard-core wheeling and dealing to someone else.
The guy in the parts department acted like I were at the wrong store and told me I needed the vin.# just to get spark plugs ...When I informed him I didnt have the number on me but the car were outside his attitude changed.... Then he asked me again what kind of car I had which were odd......That told me he hadnt looked up the vehicle but he were quick to inform me on how much everything were going to cost asap including the gallon of antifreeze...... Thanks but no thanks I wont be coming back no more..... Customer service is everything to me especially when Im spending my money....

Bought a new car a week ago, and had a good experience. I really appreciated the online tools for transparency of pricing and financing/lease terms, takes some of the voodoo out of the process and helped pinpointing some BS (or poor communication if you want to view it charitably) I got from another VW dealership. We worked with a lot of new information due to the newness of the model. One thing I really appreciated about Troy, my salesperson, is that he was just being honest, starting on the phone pre-visit, and on the ground whenever there was something he didnt know or hadnt been trained in yet, rather than trying to sound smart. I have an amazing experience with Leith VW this past Saturday. I went in for an oil change and left with a new vehicle. The sales team was manager. They didnβt make me feel pressured to do anything. They helped me work out a great payment and trade in amount. Michael in the financial office was super friendly and helping with everything when signing paperwork.

If I can give them zero stars I would. I presented a coupon that was well within my right to use. Instead of honoring the coupon at its total value, I was offered half. 2019 Jetta that takes up to 4.4 quarts of oil!
For whatever reason they increased the oil change by 25% from last time I did it plus no car wash which is the norm. More money for less service plus customer service wasnt good. Never again.

They are super slow with the service. They also give appointments at the early morning and dont serve the car till after lunch. You need to call week before to get the appointment, and you will wait for hours there.The decorations and the employees outfit are very nice, but people need to be served not watch the outfits.
Pretty disappointed in Leith this time, usually they have been phenomenal (I have been a VW and Audi owner for years). My wife took her Tiguan in with 22k miles on it and spoke with Larry (watch out ladies he is pretty dismissive to females). The driver side headlight is pointing in the air. We purchased aftermarket lights thinking that this would fix the issue. They are refusing to do the warranty work because we broke the housing when we installed the new bulbs. Interesting considering we purchased them to fix the issue, not to mention they are light bulbs, they literally twist in. Not sure how that would cause the interior of the housing to bend up (which we later realized was the issue once the new bulbs were in and the problem was still there). They will however fix it for almost $1300. I admittedly got upset with Larry at the fact they refuse to warranty the light, especially after I had asked him if they would have warrantied it if I had put the stock bulbs back in and he said most likely.7/1/2021: UpdateAs a follow-up, I spoke with Adam at Leith and he was very friendly and straight forward with me, which I can appreciate. What I cant appreciate is he said he would speak to their warranty person and get back within a little over a week (the warranty person was on vacation) to let me know what VW could do for me. Well that was on 6/2/2021, today is 7/1/2021 and I still have not heard anything from him and have sent two emails asking for an update. Although I understand that warranty work isnt a dealerships bread and butter you would think that they would still want to get things like this taken care of. Leaving a happy customer usually mean they continue to come back. I guess its time to fill out that survey they send to you and make sure that all the folks I know avoid this place like the plague. I am sure though that my fellow VW enthusiasts already know the deal with this place........
Went to get a service and got interest in a car on the lot. After a few hours they were trying to get me into a lease saying I would own the car. I asked the difference and they couldnt tell me the differences. The manager repeated that I would be the owner then said said I would have to refiance the last bit. Thankfully my friend who works with Financial things for a living told me that the dealer would own the car the entire 4 years until I financed what ever was left.Would leave 1 star but their service people are friendly.

I never had a great experience in a car dealership until I came to Leith Volkswagen of Raleigh. Carlos, the Sales Manager, was able to help me get out of a horrible 4 year lease with Nissan. Robert in sales and Michael in finance were also very helpful and provided great customer service. They explained to me everything that I would be paying for. They were very straightforward and honest. I left with a new Tiguan that I love and a peace of mind knowing I wasnt being taken advantage of. I highly recommend this Volkswagen dealership!
Nice enough folks to deal with and I liked their casual vibe at the dealership. I only knock off one star because when I asked for the secret discount price online ( like all dealers do now) they did not make it clear that the price they quoted me was only if I financed. The actual cash price was a notch higher. But they pointed that our early when we talked and the cash price was still ok. Just again, not quite as good. Otherwise friendly etc and I did buy from them!
It was easy to get an early service appointment without having to wait weeks and they corrected the recall on my Beetle very quickly
I found a vehicle online though Leithcars.com. I went out to view it the next day. James Lunsford was very helpful, however, I was torn between the car I came to see and another model. James didnt pressure me at all and I returned 2 days later and went with the second model. I recommend Leith VW Raleigh and James for a pleasant low pressure experience.

Very bad experience with all the crew in the dealership first with finance dept. you have to double check and triple check your contract because even though you decline all the extra ad on, me not paying attention with the contract philip the finance just add the simoniz worth $900 good thing we check the contract again the next morning so be aware on that. 2nd I discovered a in perfection on the passenger side mirror that the clear coat was faded so I complained on it and talk to service dept. they are blaming me that is not covered by the warranty then i have to go to dealership to talk to the manager so all the hassle iβm going through is not worth it, i should just go to honda dealer and get me a CRV less hassle. The people at VW dealership are very unprofessional and donβt how to deal with there customer.
The representative took time to listen to my concerns. He assured me a thorough inspection would be conducted to determine the exact nature of the problem. The estimated time frame of completion was given and the work was completed within that time frame. At this time I have not experienced any further problems. I will be returning in the future.

I recently bought a VW from another dealership and had only had it 5 weeks when the motor went out. Luckily I purchased a warranty. The original dealership did not consider this a warranty claim. Because Joe Mello investigated the issue further it was determined this was something to be filed under the warranty. If it had not been for Joes commitment to do the right thing by a VW customer, I may have had to pay a tremendous bill for repairs. I appreciate his commitment to his customers and his willingness to go above and beyond what was expected. If you need service to your VW please ask for Joe Mello. You will be treated with respect and courtesy. I assure you.
Our experience Saturday at LEITH Volkswagen In Raleigh was the best car buying experience of my life.We were just going to do research and test drive some vehicles... But my wife fell in love with the 2021 Tiguan.George the sales consultant was so low pressure we actually had to ask him to run the numbers and appraise our current car. Sales manager let us take an extended test drive to get lunch while they were appraising my wifes Camry.I warned my wife not o get too excited because dealerships never give good trade in values... Thats been my experience in buying over 15 new vehicles in my life.Boy was I wrong!!! Leith VW Gave us a few $1000 more than Kelly blue book.After I read a quick Car and Driver review Of the VW Tiguan (C/D gave it 9.5 out of 10); We made the decision to purchase.The complete process was painless and actually enjoyable.George the sales Consultant even delivered the car to my wifes work!I am looking forward to when I get to purchase a new car for myself and the 1st place I will be going to is Leith VW!

I finally found the VW Beetle Dune Edition I had been searching for at Leith! Our sales person, James, was very polite and helpful. He had the car ready and waiting for us when we arrived at the showroom. We took it for a test drive and LOVED it! It was used, but in very good condition with just a few stains on the seats. James made sure that the service department removed them before we took possession of the car. Their internet pricing is no haggle, so dont expect them to reduce the price much, if any. However, the internet price was right in line, if not better, than other Beetles we had researched. Everyone we worked with at Leith VW of Raleigh was nice and eager to help with whatever we needed. The purchasing process went quickly and smoothly. This dealership was a two hour drive for us each way, but it was well worth it as it was a good car buying experience and now I have my little Beetle that I love! Thank you to everyone at Leith VW!
As usual Joe and Adam did a great job. The car was fully serviced and a repair was made to the cooling system. Joe was kind enough to provide me with a loaner while the work was being completed. Car is running great. I will always have my car serviced at Leith VW, and I will always request Joe as my service writer...thanks again to both Adam and Joe

Just bought my car yesterday from George who wasnt the typical pushy upselling car guy Im used to. It was so refreshing to have a salesman respect my opinion and time. I did feel like we annoyed the finance guy when we refused the warranty so couldnt give them the full 5 stars. I know that the warranty probably helps him make money, but dont try to make customers feel like your angry or were stupid for saying no when its something we simply cant afford. Overall it was a quick and easy experience which is also rare at dealership. Thanks again George! :-)
