I have a vehicle that has a oil consumption problem. And its under warranty. They told me it would probably take about two months to get the engine replaced. So I asked what about a loaner? They said they do loaners anymore because of covid. So I said what about a rental? They told me i would have to pay for a rental and then get reimbursed!!! I was told by a service representative that hyundau is known for not reimbursement to people when it time to pay people back. And some cases not paying at all!! Dont ever buy a car from Southern States Hyundai!!!
Hadnt visited in a while. The most recent visit was much better. No one likes getting work done on their car, but was very pleased this go round. Fair price and good communication on what was happening.
One of the worst Dealerships in the USA. DONT EVER BUY A HYUNDAI car from them. Especially if you are in the Military. These people only care about making their sales commission. I bought a Brand new Hyundai 10 months ago it is already broken. Need a whole transmission replaced. There are no loaners cars/ no parts to fix yet/ My time and money for the Rental (if it is more than $35 ) is coming out of my pocket. when I talked to them buy the vehicle back, Manager didnt even speak to me over the phone. Answer was there is nothing they can do. But think about, How many times they would call you if they want to sell something to you. Sales people and managers are trained to work for the money only in these dealerships. I had a great customer service from Benz/BMW etc. This is why Hyundai will be nothing but trash.
We were unable to get the trunk of the car fixed there (it was under warranty), as the dealership was unable to obtain the part as it was on back order. The dealership kept postponing how long the part was on backorder for, and I ended up waiting well over a month before simply giving up. I have kids and need the use of my trunk on a daily basis. I ended up taking my car to a local mechanic who was able to obtain the necessary part THE VERY SAME DAY and he was able to fix the car then and there. I ended up having to pay full price for the part and the repair.Additionally, we were pressured into getting some routine maintenance that we did not even want. Immediately after this maintenance service, the car has been malfunctioning, making loud noises every time I drive it. After taking the car back to the dealership, their only suggestion was that we get a brand new set of tires for the car (over $700). We basically paid an arm and a leg for this maintenance, only to have it give our car new problems that it did not have prior to the service.Every time we come to the dealership, we end up waiting a minimum of 2 hours before we are even seen, even though we have an appointment. The time we have waisted with your dealership, including the time spent on the phone, being on hold, and waiting in the lobby has been in excess of 5 hours (at least). None of our problems have been resolved, we have new problems with our car (the loud noises, that have since not gone away), and we have not gotten any refund.
My family have bought 4 cars from southern states Hyundai and we have always received excellent service. This time is no different. Curtis in the service department went above and beyond to make sure my 2020 Hyundai sonata was well taken care by making sure I didn’t over pay for the part I needed.. Thank you Curtis and Hyundai sales team!
Amazing Hyundai service department!! Awesome staff. They are VERY professional and kind. They kept in touch with me and were very informative. I will gladly drive farther to get my new car serviced here because honesty and respect go a long way! Thanks Southern States Hyundai of Raleigh service center!!!
Nobody wants to have vehicle service issues, so it greatly helps to have someone as knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with as Tiffany Reyes. I dropped my car off @8am and it was done by 10:30. The service team is phenomenal. Thank you again Tiffany for making my car issue painless!
I tried to schedule my service appt online, but the times available were limited to M-F between 8:00 and 3:00pm. When I called them directly, they had times available later in the afternoon and on Saturday. Not sure why the discrepency. Other than that, a good experience.
Absolutely the best experience at a dealership because they LISTEN, I felt seen and for someone who car buying is a foreign language and very stressful they took their time. Explain the same thing over and over again with ease, nobody rushed me, nobody pressured me, literally the best car buying experience Ive ever had and now I only wanna do business here.
I scheduled my appointment online and I did not realize that I had marked that I needed a point check (oil change, filter, etc.) The agent started working on his computer and said I will be right with you. After a couple of minutes of the agent working on the computer (He did ask me to wait until he finished). I told the agent I only wanted my tire looked at because my tire sensor light had come on while I was driving. I think time was wasted because I should have been allowed to tell the agent why I came to the shop. The agent told me what I needed per his screen and then I explained there must have been a mistake on my part when I was trying to maneuver the system because I made the appointment online and I only wanted my tire checked. I think it was a little rude for the agent to try to pull the computer screen around so I could see what I had requested online. I nicely told him that the screen might be correct but I did not mean to put the point check on the appointment. I truly am thinking about going somewhere else for my next check. I truly appreciate great customer service.
We have been to service for two small unrelated issues in last two weeks. My wife and I could not be more satisfied. Service was quick and the people there treated us with respect and very willing to help. They have been really nice over several years.
Joe Mc KennaI called just to see after talking to Joe on the phone was excited to come in just to see. Now I am a proud owner of a 2021 Sonata and it was one of the easiest, relaxing, non-pushing experience that I have even had buying a car. He was so nice, personable, kind, attentive, helpful and made the it a wonderful experience. Thank you so much for your help and for getting the best deal.P.S. And he help order my leather seats for my new baby.
Bought my first new car after 17 years. Was really worried of going through the process but thankfully I was met by Terry who helped walk me through it and took his time to explain everything. He made me comfortable, answered my questions and was genuine. I appreciate the help Terry gave and the time he spent with me showing me the new world of car ownership! Thank you Terry!
Took the vehicle and was told it was under warranty so checking the engine wouldn’t have a cost. Then it happened to be out of warranty by a week (2017 model but apparently first registered late 2016, not matching vin number). I refused to get the repair done as the whole point was that it was supposed to be covered under warranty. Ended up paying $170 for a code read and the same diagnose I had already provided them. Not buying Hyundai again.
When a belt in my car snapped, I had it towed here. Called in the morning to let them know and they had it fully fixed and finished by the end of the day!!! Amazing, Ill definitely keep coming back!
This review is strictly in regards to the Service Department and has no reflection on the Sales Department as I purchased my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T elsewhere.Engine light started flashing and vehicle only drove in “limp home mode”. Took to my local repair shop and they advised me there is an active issue with these model engines and to take to a Hyundai dealership. Took in on Friday, July 9. Given a Service Department Representative, who was not friendly or reassuring in the matter and just kept stating even the diagnosis itself will take hours and asked what street in Raleigh I lived on…this is the closest dealership to my home and I live approximately 45 min from their location. After my Rep telling me for the third time how long “just the diagnosis” would take, I finally asked if they had a loaner car to lend me in the event they had to keep my car for said repairs, to which my Rep replied, “we do not have a loaner fleet”…Fast forward two hours (at this point I was across the street for a bite to eat) and my Rep called to tell me my engine had to be replaced and that Hyundai may or may not pay for its replacement. (I have owned this vehicle since 2017 and had put approximately 60,000 miles on it, bring total mileage to 90,000; kept up with all routine maintenance, etc.; looking to have this car last me ten years time). Long story short(er), Hyundai agreed to replace my engine with no requirement of extra service documentation (thank goodness) and the estimated time frame for repair was two months. Was told by my Rep to call Hyundai Customer Care, they said they would assign me a Case Manager within 7-10 business days (still waiting to hear from one) to see what car rental reimbursements would be offered to me or see if a loaner car was available to me elsewhere.Thankfully, received a phone call from my Rep at the dealership letting me know my car was complete on Thursday, August 5 (three days shy of a month, which was very good timing according to my Rep). Could not make it there that day since I got the call 45 minutes before they closed (the amount of time it takes me to get there). Was not expecting this phone call since I was told two months and had received zero updates as to the status of my vehicle. When the vehicle was picked up the next day, Rep could not say if this was a brand new engine or refurbished and could not point out where our paperwork explicitly stated warranty information regarding this engine. When we asked the Rep about corporate Hyundai and never being assigned a case manager, Rep replied saying this is common right now and they are probably overwhelmed with the engine lawsuit and replacements…Being someone who works in retail, I guess I expected more, especially on something as big as an engine replacement. Overall, I am just ecstatic to have my own vehicle back, but think this was not good business. This will be my last Hyundai and will not be coming back to Southern States Hyundai for any other recalls/repairs that may be needed on my Hyundai. Will be driving further in search of better customer service.PS - Southern States told me I needed new rear brakes since they were at 1mm. I took my car to my locally-owned and trusted automotive shop and they said my rear brakes had 10-15,000 miles left on them and were at 5mm…glad I did not spend the $250 I was quoted at the dealership to replace brakes that still have plenty of life on them.
Great staff!!! Curtis was awesome. Quick and easy drop off. A little hiccup with the pickup by they got me on my way with a smile. Thank you all for your hard work!!!!
This was a great experience. Curtis got me out sooner than what was said, took care of any problems I had, and very polite and professional. First time here and glad I came.
When I called Southern States Hyundai for a recall on my vehicle there was an issue with their phones but someone gave my name and number to Ariel Wall and I am so happy that they did because she is so awesome. She is very nice an have very good custom services skills. One of my parts for my car did not come in and she felt so bad that she did not know it was not there and I came to my appointment she did everything to make it right I informed her that I understood she is very sweet and cares about her customers, I would refer anyone to her if they go to Southern States Hyundai.
I had an excellent salesman Danilo Cruz. He was very patient and knowledgeable. Throughout the entire process he was courteous and polite. He always did follow up calls and cater to our every need.We were very impressed with his knowledge about our vehicle and patiently answered all our questions and went above and beyond for us. He is the only reason we purchased our vehicle from that dealership. I will definitely be recommending others to him.
Went to Southern States Hyundai service dept because Johnson in Cary acted like they could care less when I called them. Walked into SS and Curtis Keele was very welcoming of me bringing my Tucson there. Set up my appt and when I came back remembered me. Great experience and I will always go back to Southern States Hyundai! Thank you Curtis for making a difference on customer care!
Its fine. Love my Hyundai suv...bought at different dealership. Took in for a recall. Then service entrance could easily be missed as youll see a white building in back for Mazda and Subaru service. Its on the side and you honk to have them open door. Pretty cool. Better if youre told when making the appointment. Used seat floorboard covers. Nice touch.
Curtis was very professional, helpful and friendly. Drop off was easy and my Palisade was serviced and ready in no time.
Why this place receives so many positive reviews is beyond my understanding. My review is for Hyundai Service. The main problem with service is that they NEVER answer their phones. Its just plain luck if you call and someone answers the phone. My second issue is with Oil changes, I usually will do this myself, but its been too much of a hassle lately so Ive been bringing it in - they regularly overfill the oil, one month I brought 3 cars in and all 3 had to be returned to remove oil. You would figure a year later they would have made some adjustments, nope, they continue to overfill oil which is not a good thing for any car, so I will return it again to have some removed. The manager really is nothing more than a taker and doesnt care about managing. He sits at his desk and laughs all day based on my observation. I do feel he should be out there overseeing the work and doing some QC. This would make customers happier and the technicians will also improve their work if they know someone cares about their work.It bothers me to write a negative review, but sometimes management has no clue about how customers see the only game in town -first is $$cha-ching and last is the customer. Cant yall find a balance?
I purchased a 2019 elantra from their used department and found a few issues with it. Matt and Curtis were very helpful and attentive in making sure the items were taken care of in a very timely manner. They believe in excellent customer service and it shows. I will definitely be bringing my car here for future maintenance and service.
Ariel was professional and helpful for all of my car care needs. She made sure that I was aware of any changes that need to be made beforehand. I appreciate that. The mechanics were courteous and knowledgeable of the services that I would need because of an issue from my original dealership. Thank you so much for all of your help!!
OUT OF STATE BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!! If you are an out of state customer looking to purchase with Southern States Hyundai do not waste your time! I recently purchased a vehicle in September of 2021 and was given 30 day temp tags (60 day temp tags are available in NC). I called in October to follow up on the process with my tags and title, and it turns out none of my paperwork was submitted to MDs DMV. Ive called for 3 weeks to get answers and an update and the salesman Joe Mckenna basically told me he could not help me even though it was his mistake and to write a new date any date on the temp tags. I am from Maryland and that is completely illegal. I finally spoke with the title employee and was told the dealer would have to pay a fine in order to give me additional tags, and the decision (above them) was made I will not be getting new tags sent to my home. Mind you this is their fault and mistake to begin with. As a customer it is clear this location is entirely focused on pushing vehicles out the door, no care is made to make certain all the work is done right the first time, nor making sure mistakes are rectified with haste. Now I am to drive around with expired 30 day tags and wait diligently for the MD DMV to do a 2 month job in 1 month. What happens after that I have no clue. The lack of follow through is outrageous and the level of customer service given once the mistake was realized has been horrendous. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALER TO ANYONE.
**UPDATE** the service manager Chris gave me a call and resolved the issue. I wasn’t expecting that all.I had an appointment today for 1130am for an OIL CHANGE. They told me it would be 1hr to 1hr 1/2 possibly sooner. Okay, fine. THREE hours go by, nothing. This was my first time here. I go back to the front to ask what’s going on. I let them know how long it’s been and it’s time for me to pick up my child at this point. When the person returns, I am told he’s not sure what happened. They still haven’t reached my car and it would be possibly another hour. 4 HOURSSSS for an oil change??? I wasted my entire morning there and left out with no oil change and all I was offered was I’m sorry, I don’t know what happened, I can bring your car back around and you can reschedule!! FIRST TIME AND LAST TIME VISITING THIS LOCATION!
I frequently use Southern States to service my Hyundai Elantra and Curtis Keele always takes good care of me. Highly recommend this dealership for their supreme customer and vehicle service. 5 stars every visit for me.
Its fine. They were really quick with my oil change. But it was odd that I requested a multipoint inspection but then didnt get any information regarding it. You know the page with that tells you your fluid levels, tread, maybe breaks? I didnt get that. When I went back in to ask about it, I was just told there was nothing to report. While thats great, I would have still liked to have the information.
Southern States Hyundai of Raleigh has a knowledgeable staff to help you in your car buying process. Love my new Sonata! Thank you Alex D!
Great experience. Ariel was very kind and professional and the technicians are also very thorough with their findings. They always provide exceptional service in regards to what you need to get fixed for the safety of the vehicle. They work quick but I know my car gets the care it needs!
Great experience getting my SUV inspected and having maintenance. Chris Spears went above and beyond to get the job done. Will only service my car with the dealership.
Had some urgent care repair needs and needed minimal downtime, they were able to get a LOT done in only a few hours. Friendly staff. Will definitely go back next service.
Dont buy from this place, I purchased a car from here back in 2014,,, paid the car off no problem but when it comes time to get my title I still have not received it and the car has been paid off since September of 2020..So I go to the southern states dealership where I purchased the car and nobody cared enough to even assist me with the problem..A year later, car paid off and I still do not have a title STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP
I had my car serviced at Southern State Hyundai. Before the servicing I spoke with the new manager Chris about what I wanted done. Chris was very helpful, exceptionally so, and had my car fixed to my specifications. I will return to Southern State Hyundai for my future servicing needs as a result.
Ive had nothing but good experiences taking my car for service here. The Hyundai team is great - not only are they super knowledgeable and friendly, but they have been very clear/consistent with costs (coming in below what I was quoted on 2 occasions), they dont try to upsell you, and the service is always timely. Many thanks to Chris especially for his recent help with my drive belts!
I had Tiffany help me in the servicing department, she was great! You can tell she really cares about her customers and does everything n her power to solve all your problems with minimal inconviences. I only gave 4 stars because there were no rentals option while my car was in the shop. The service and communication was great!
Awesome experience! Ariel in Service was very friendly and informative. Ensured I was aware of additional services needed but not over aggressive to make me feel I needed to do it now. Thanks Ariel for providing great customer service
Very friendly customer service. Im planning to get my new car from Southern states of Hyundai. Completely satisfied.Special shout to Alex. Hes been amazing!
Called service dept twice and no answer. So I called the sales dept and asked the guy who answered if the service dept was having a problem. He said, Yea, Ive been hearing about that problem for several months now. If they cant get the phone system working over several months, Im not going to trust them to repair my car. If they reply to this it will likely be, That doesnt meet our services standards. But clearly that IS their standard if it goes on for several months.
I received great customer service upon buying my new car..... but when 3 months something broke, so upon attempting to schedule a repair as Im under warranty & schedule an oil change its been a nightmare! I have called for a week straight and got transferred around, hung up on with them giving then excuse that the phones were down huhh. Great place to buy a car but would expect much help when trying to get your car fixed. Service from body shop a parts department customers dont seem to be a propriety. I finally had to get ahold for someone important to get my point across. Train your employs to treat customers with respect. A customer is someone who has bought something especially a 30K plus car. A prospect is someone that might potently buy so tip focus on the customers who have spent hard earned money. I dont mean to bash Southern States, but I havent received any help which is disporting.
Had a really great experience- everyone is very friendly and transparent. They were able to answer all of my questions, give me additional details on my warranty and service my car in a timely manner. The only place Ill go to get my car serviced in Raleigh!
Chris in the service department has been great to work with! He will always call and give timely updates on the status of the service and truly does care about the customer having the best experience. I will say their services may be more expensive compared to other places, but we are not handy so it has been more convenient to go straight to the dealership.
Ariel did a fantastic job communicating with me when I took my car in for a diagnostic check. She explained the costs and what needed to be done. She also provided me with reassurance. I love taking my car here because they do the job right the first time.
Purchased NEW Car had tags switched from my old car to new. This was the first week in June. August get a letter from DMV concerning my tags not turned in. Took proof of insurance and DMV letter to dealership (mind you a 100 miles round trip). Was told yes ma’am we will take care of it. It’s our responsibility not yours. We said we’d take care of it when you purchased your new car. Today, September 4th received a letter from DMV my plates are now REVOKED!!!!!!!! Immediately called dealership and got a confused salesperson who could only say I’m sorry and for me to call back Monday. I explained my tags are revoked meaning I can’t drive my car anywhere- I only have this one car. He said they’d be responsible for paying the fine. WHAT AM I MISSING?? The fine is the least of my worry my tags are REVOKED - and there’s nothing they can do to help me - are you serious???? Never has this happened to me with any dealership never. After numerous trips to the dealership ( hundreds of miles added to my car) the Lord and I ended up working with DMV and finally got everything straight on Sept 10, 2021. Wow purchased car June 1st and just now getting tags straight. I did get Southern States Hyundai to Fed X a 30 day tag after I threatened to contact ABC11 Diane Wilson about the matter. Lastly any offer to at least reimburse me for gas and trouble- the answer would be no.
I’m sure the sales department of nice guys, but beware of the service department. One of the guys working there ran the stop sign at the back of the auto park and almost plowed into me. Thankfully, I am a defensive driver or he would’ve smashed right into the passenger side, where my wife and son were sitting. When I called him out on it, he said he was sorry, acted like it was no big deal and walked away. So, my recommendation is that if you do buy a car from this dealership, be careful in the back or one of their service department drivers will hit you. Because of this experience, I will never do business with this dealership again.
Curtis and Ariel from Hyundai Service Department worked together as a team to provide me with a great experience. Both of them were flexible, resourceful and informative when providing me assistance as I was getting work done on my car. I would say Curtis even went above and beyond by having my car be serviced prior to his so I could get out of there sooner bc I had some place I needed to be! It really was 10 stars and I appreciate their professionalism they maintained throughout the entire process.
I bought my Elantra from this location back in 2019 and everyone was great. Elijah sold me my car and hes retired now but I still go back for all of my service appointments. I usually work with Kurt or Mark and they both are super helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend this location to anyone :).
Scheduled a recall for my car and received great service! Got me in quick and gave me a call with updates throughout the day. Would definitely take my car back!
I had to take my 2020 Hyundai Sonata for service everything was great. Service adviser was fantastic. I was in a out in lest then two hours.
Alex is a fabulous sales associate! He knew everything there was to know about the Santa Fe Hybrid even though it was brand new to market. He never pushed or felt like like he was selling to us. Instead it was like shopping with a friend who was as excited as we were.
I was having issues with my car battery and called and talked to Curtis. He told me to come right in and he took care of everything very quick and easy! He came and talked to me and thoroughly explained what was going on and talked through my options with me! I would definitely recommend this dealership! Curtis was amazing!
I called Southern States probably close to 4 or 5 months ago looking to find out the release date for the 2021 Hyundai Elantra. I could not find out anywhere online. When I called I got Joe McKenna. Joe told me he didnt know but would call me back as soon as he found out. Well months went by and I wasnt to sure I was going to hear back from him but he did not let me down. He called me the very next morning after they got them in. We live in the Ft Bragg area and at the time werent able to take the trip to come check it out but he provided us with pics, video and info about the car all via text message. We worked out payments and all before we even arrived to pick it up the next day. It was the easiest process of buying a car we have ever done. Signing all the paper work was made pain free by Taylor in their office. He was very detailed and knowledgeable about all we needed to know. I would definitely recommend you go check out their team and ask for Joe McKenna! He kept his word and contacted me and made the whole process very stress free. Great experience.
They did the work and so far it seems correct, and so far has fixed two ongoing issues. Also fixed the two recalls I had so far as I know. Car has other issues unrelated to their service/this location, so thats not on them. However, low review is due to a misquote that I was given, and as such agreed to work that I wouldve gotten quotes on, had the real cost been told to me to begin with. Appreciated the service person calling me back to apologize, but Im still out $150 more than I expected to be, and so feel somewhat duped for trusting them.
I had a great experience today at this service center. It was very helpful and everything was explained to me very clearly. I’ll definitely be back.
Took my car in for an oil change and a check of my AC...techs diagnosed it no problem and Curtis worked with my warranty company to make sure it was covered. Communication and service were top-notch. Very happy.
Kurtis did an outstanding job servicing my car. The process was quick and professional. Will definitely be going back in the future for my cars needs!
They went above any beyond to help get my car back home.Friendly, clean and attractiveWhat more could you ask for?A+
Brought my vehicle in for servicing. Hyundai requested I pay a collateral for parts not at their location. They said they would call back next week. No call. I followed up a week and half later. The parts werent order. Its been almost a month now - no call on the parts. Ive paid for service, and no service.
Very nice people to deal with. Got a good set up for a waiting area. The guy who help us made our experiences great. This time we just had 2 keys made but we where treated well even if it was a small request.
Alex was great to work with! He was accommodating from the time I stepped out of my car until the deal was signed. I love my new vehicle and the service received from all of the staff I encountered at Southern States Hyundai.
I recommend this place. Ill be back here again if I need a car.
On 3.12.21 I brought my Hyundai Santa Fe into the shop with the engine light blinking. I am from PA and the car was running in safe mode. Terri Fox and her team were most accommodating and I am very grateful for their service and care. This was after I was abruptly turned away at Peacock Hyundai in Savannah, GA. I thankfully made it home and want to commend Southern States for their accommodation of a stressed traveler in need. When it’s time to purchase another Hyundai, I think I will go here. Thank you Southern States!
Just bought a new Tucson Hybrid from Southern States today. Terry Mclean is an AWESOME human being and does not act like your typical pushy salesman. He was kind, gracious, knowledgeable, and relatable. From the moment I stepped in there and he waved to the fistbump walking out with my new keys, he was the absolute best. I also dealt with the internet sales rep, Amber, and she went above and beyond for me before I even walked through the door...I highly recommend getting your car from here and using Terry 🤜🤛
Two cars serviced in the SAME week! Both ended up with significant repairs... on covered under a recall... the other under warranty! Great service and communication! Ask fir Curtis! Very pleasant!
Curtis was extremely professional and friendly. He was on top of everything, great communication with myself and the technician in the back. Great service!!!
Curtis was very helpful with everything I needed for my car. I will definitely be making this dealership my place to go if I need service.
Bought a brand new car from then . I am content with my vehicle and overall monthly payment seem like the only day I was happy with their service . Since then I have had many issues with them especially customer service This is the last car I will be buying from them . Worse customer service ever It seems like nobody knows what there doing and you can never get up with anybody over the phone .
Terry was really great and helped me the whole process of buying my car. They where very honest with the deal they said they would give me. The Hyundai staff was super nice and helpful as well as professional.
The car industry is so difficult to find amazing people! Southern States Hyundai went above and beyond my most expected expectations. RICK the salesman is the most calming, caring, and considerate person when it comes to the stress of purchasing a vehicle, especially your first new vehicle! TAYLOR the finance manager and STEPHANIE who assisted with my offer between banks just completely outstanding the entire process. Y’all seriously I cannot express enough, especially the quality you get in a Hyundai vehicle with warranties, services, etc! The owner of this branch should be very proud they are in good hands with their amazing employees! Thank you so much to the entire Hyundai Southern States Team!!
It was the best experience I have ever had... Curtis was the best!!! He kept me updated on everything going on!! I would definitely recommend!!
Sales area: its weird that there is no receptionist, but beside that, our purchase experience went nice, I knew my credit score, how much I could pay per month, my trade in value, what I want it and what I didnt, when they offered me upsales I agreed on some and politely declined and they didnt try to push the sale.
Hyundai 2018 Sonata serviced at Southern States Hyundai in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, 3/29/2020.By far this was my best service appointment yet, The rep was hilarious and at the same time engaging. He is a navy veteran and I am an army vet. We laughed when I said that I wouldnt hold that against him.He told me it would take about 2 hrs to complete my 25,000 mile service and he was spot on.
My experience at Southern States Hyundai was nothing less than perfect! Terry McLean oversaw all aspects of my purchase from choosing, to trading, to setting everything up. Theres a lot to learn nowadays! I had a complicated trade situation with two cars to trade and no knowledge of how to proceed. Terry took care of everything and created the most worry free experience from beginning to end. I cant thank him enough for his hard work and patience and a fresh start to the year!
I went to southern States Hyundai today and I just wanna say that my customer service rep Curtis was the best I recommend him if you where to ever visit
We purchased our new Tucson from Rick Lynch and were very pleased with how he and his colleagues handled the entire sales process.
Update: I was contacted by the service manager. He was incredibly genuine and interested in how to make my experience better. I appreciate his call and I could really tell from speaking with him that they are making adjustments to try and prevent experiences like I had.---My review is only for the service department experience. TL;DR: I changed my preferred dealership to Johnson Hyundai of Cary because their facilities are much nicer and they don’t make me feel like I am being swindled.I had two interactions with Southern States service. The first visit, I dropped my car for routine maintenance based on mileage. The service person I spoke with (who I know is no longer at the dealership because he told me he was leaving) told me not to use my parking brake unless I was on a hill because the parking brake is known to break due to overuse (what?!?). He also implied that where I got my car from (not their dealership) was a bad decision (which I know it wasn’t). After sitting in the waiting area for 10-15 minutes I was called back into the area where my car was to look at every dent and ding in my car, and then was pressured to have them all removed for an exorbitant cost while the auto body person stood creepily in the corner. It came off very dishonest. My second visit, I was going to bring my car in to have a powertrain issue fixed and in the service request I asked about warranty coverage. On the phone prior to my visit they told me it wasn’t covered under warranty and that I would have to pay for them to look at my car and the repair. I took the time to look up my vehicle information and to read the fine print about the warranty and it should have been covered.Fast forward two days. I took my car to Johnson Hyundai and immediately spoke with Aaron (who is awesome). He read all of my notes and was proactive in doing research before meeting with me. We had a quick conversation about a safety recall and he quickly confirmed that YES the repair would be covered under warranty. Their waiting area is open and airy, lots of natural light, and the people are much nicer. It’s like night and day. I’ll be returning to Johnson Hyundai instead for my future servicing needs.
On Saturday, March 6, 2021, I Visited Southern States Hyundai To Have My 2016 Tucson Service. I Have Had My Vechicle Service Twice At Southern States Hyundai. On Both Visits, I Have Been Exceptionally Pleased With The Service Staff Upon Arriving And With The Work Provided My The Mechanics. I Will Be A Repeat Customer At Southern States Hyundai!
I bought my first car in 2018, after graduating college. I have had the pleasure of having Hyundai’s team take care of all my service needs since that time. My experience over the past two years has been wonderful and I especially enjoy working with Tiffany Reyes each time. Additionally, they partnered with me on a recall matter and they made sure the experience was hassle free and resolved quickly. Overall, my experience has been wonderful and I will continue taking my car to Hyundai for my service needs. Thank you Hyundai and Tiffany for your amazing customer service!
Buying a car is always a tedious process, but Mike made the experience awesome. He was knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and VERY kind. All staff members were great, but Mike was exceptional. There was a great selection of used vehicles to choose from on the lot, and I would definitely recommend checking them out if youre car shopping. Thanks for the wonderful experience!!!
Terri (Hyundai Service advisor) and Andy (Hyundai Technical Service) were great. Ask for them if you go there. I set an appointment and brought my vehicle with a noise I could not identify. Terri was very helpful and so cordial, understanding the problem I was describing and coordinating with the mechanics. I could see her smile even behind the face mask. Andy asked me to drive with him and replicate the problem. Super nice guy and very professional in explaining the diagnostics of the problem. We both could not be sure what the problem was even with the car on the lift. They told me to keep track of the issue and if the noise continued to come back. Even after spending their precious time on my vehicle, I would have expected a bill but I wasnt charged anything. Great service, professionalism and pure kindness.
Guy and I were greeted by Joe McKenna at southern states Hyundai. Our buying experience was very positive . joe was knowledgeable, but not pushy. He answered our questions and encouraged us to ge back with any concerns. We feel confident in his availability for contact.Guy and I are both pleased with our experience and our salesman, Joe. And thats saying something, for us to both feel pleased. Rave reviews!
Ms. Reyes and Southern States is the best! Unbeatable service.
Joe McKenna was awesome to work with.In fact, I actually only went in to Southern States Hyundai to support my daughter as she purchased her first vehicle on her own.I saw the Hyundai Kona, and was hooked!I messaged Joe two days later - not only are my payments the same as on my previous vehicle, but my warranty is more comprehensive and twice as long! And did I mention the Kona is fabulous to drive?!I recommend Joe and Southern States to anyone in the market (or even not actually in the market) for a new vehicle. You will not be disappointed!
Very easy process. John Hunter was very low pressure, and actually helped us get to the deal we wanted. Taylor in finance was extremely helpful, got us a lower interest rate and a spectacular deal on a full 10 year warranty. No back and forth, let me check with my manager tactics. Very much appreciated.
We have already purchased 5 Hyundai cars from Southern states over the period of 2 years and all our purchases were done expectionally by Elijah and John until last time when a different sales person sold us our car.He did not understand any rebates or anything about the car and was very unprofessional. He and the manager sold me an Elantra and the manager gave a promise of 150$ referral to seal the deal even though it was our 5th purchase. Seems the head office did not approve the referral and manager backed off, lead about ever promising anything and heavily insulted me for coming back for 150$. It was not a matter of 150$ but the promise being given the manager who sold 5 cars to us in the past and the insult he gave on something he promised. We had 3 other sonata purchase lined up for next week with John but seems I am never coming back. Thanks,
My visit was great. They were courteous, had plenty of chairs in the waiting room so we could be spaced out. Coffee and water available. My visit was about 1/2 the time I expected, which was wonderful. They told me if I had any questions to call and they would be happy to assist me. All of the employees smiled when they walked by. That was nice. I love my Hyundai. If I were to purchase a new one, I would buy it here
We were able to find the used car we had been searching for at a reasonable price. All of the staff we encountered was incredibly friendly - one of the main reasons we shopped here first. My daughter is thrilled with her new car and we didn’t break the bank. Will definitely keep them in mind for our next purchase in a few months.
Worst experience i ever had would never buy a car from this dealership
Outstanding service in a timely manner and in a professional, safe and warm environment. Always a pleasurable and informative experience dealing with Southern States Hyundai staff persons. I recommend SSH for service and sales when folk inquire! Its my go to automotive shop!
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff
Ordered new tires through Hyundais online offer ( great deal - buy 3 get 1 free AND there was a $60 rebate, much more affordable than tire centers) and online scheduled an appointment for install at Southern States. Had the tires installed and a Hyundai recall completed.
Southern States was able to replace my engine in 2012 Sonata fairly quickly. Paul kept me informed on the progress regularly. Its been working out great so far. The only thing I couldnt get was a loaner car so that was inconvenient for 10 days my car was in the shop but Paul mentioned the long wait time was due to the corona virus. Overall it was a good experience..
